Satellite A30 714 bent pin USB

I seem to have bent a PIN in one of the two USB ports. I'll fix it myself, but does anyone have any documentation on how I disassemble the laptop?

I am confident in the work (welding, static problems, etc.) it's just that there are often hidden screws/tabs/etc who stop work being straight forward.

Any help would be appreciated.

Concerning

Tony

Hello Tony

Everything is at your own risk. In my view, it is clear to you. Anyway, there is no public document disassembly A30. I tried to find something similar for my old Satellite P20 but unfortunately without success.

Simply start by dismantling the procedure and if you have still some concrete problem post. Don t lose a few screws! ;)

  • Satellite A30-514: problem of USB after you installed Windows XP SP2!

I have a satellite A30-514. I clead the HARD drive, reinstall the software from the recovery CD I got with the PC.
After that, I launched Windows updates and installed SP2.

But now my USB only recognizes the mouse and nothing else, when I try to connect a device told me that there was an error on the data and the installation cannot last. I tried reinstalling the driver from chipset from the CD, but nothing happened.

    Hello
Service Pack 2 does not have hardware redetection of embedded devices. I have the same problem on my S5200 and I just refresh the Device Manager, and after that, it was all right. So, try this one.

  • Satellite A30: Does not recognize USB devices.

My computer does not recognize any devices when connected to the USB Port on my Satellite A30. After downloading SP2, I was able to install the printer, but I can't use it because there is no printer icon in the toolbar. If I want to print something I get the window of the printer, select printing, then it goes to the author of the Image of MS Office. Basically, I can't use my printer or any other device connected to a USB port.

However, it was working perfectly fine when I had the home edition of XP but I can not reinstall this one because there is something wrong with the recovery disk that's why I had to install XP Pro.
Also, I used to get a sound, letting me know that a device has been connected. I get more or the icon in the toolbar.

Is that what I could do to fix this please? Is it possible to get another disc of recovery somehow? Obviously, it's something to do with XP Pro software, but I don't know what to do.
    Could you please help me?

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you get a window of the printer you need to select the right printer. If printing goes to MS Office Image writer so the right printer is not selected.

On the new installation: If you install the operating system from the original Windows CD you must install the necessary drivers and QFE patches all in the right order.

  • Satellite A30 714 cooling fan noise

I have an A30 714 and due to the high temperature of the portable computer, the fan is on 90% of the time. It is very noisy. It is also the energy consumption when working with batteries. Does anyone have a suggestion about the possible problem and solution?

    Thank you

    Hi Fernando,

From your description, I suspect that there is some malware running on your A30 which is causing the CPU to process at a higher than normal rate, so the high activity of the fan and the autonomy of the batteries.

I suggest that you scan your A30 for virus/spyware/malware, etc. using a utility such as ADAWARE and SPYBOT (both are free and can be downloaded if you have not already installed).

I also suggest that you start the Task Manager and check exactly what percentage is actually using your CPU and what services/applications are actually being run.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite A30 714: external monitor displays in 640 x 480 only

I am trying to connect to an external LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1280 x 1024. When I plugged the screen plug-and-play Windows XP installed, now when I switch to the screen of the laptop to this screen (or running dual screen) it will be the only display at 640 x 480 and does all of the options in the graphic properties to change the resolution.
But, if I use the external display as extended desktop, then I'm able to put any resolution I want upward and above 1280 x 1024.
I am running XP Home and I have installed the latest graphics drivers from Toshiba.

    Can anyone offer advice please?

    Hi Derek

It's very strange. If the correct driver is pre-installed to avoid any problems. If you want to use just external monitor using FN + F5 to change the Office externally and then change the resolution (the number of screen 1 must be enabled).

  • ADSL Wireless with my A30 714

I have a Satellite A30 714 and have recently installed ADSL. How to use the Setup wireless on the laptop without having to plug into the ADSL?

    Hello

If you want to connect your laptop to the internet using the Wi - Fi connection you need a wireless card on your device and a wireless router. I don't know, but as much as I know about satellite A30 there is no wireless card. The best solution is to use a PCMCIA wireless card. It's not expensive and it is very easy to configure.

  • Re: Configuration of the good BIOS A30-714

    Hello

I download the BIOS update form my netbook (Satellite A30-714), but it's an exe of win. I try to update the BIOS without BONES. How can I do this?

    Any sugestion?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

The BIOS available on the page of the European pilot Toshibas is a Win-based BIOS.
Therefore, run the Windows system BIOS update.

But you can also download the BIOS of the page of the American pilot.
    [Satellite A35-S1592 | http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=512378&r pn = PSA30U & modelFilter = A35-S1592 & SelCategorie = 2756709 & selFamily = 1073768663]

You will find the victory and back based BIOS.
    Toshiba Satellite A35 - S1592 (PSA30U) is the same series as Satellite A30 - 714 (PSA30E).

PSA30U is of American and European series PSA30E series.

  • Satellite A30 213: broken in the power supply pin

I have so many problems with this.
I'd rather put it in the trash than to fix it, but unfortunately I have important documents that I have not saved.

Basically, the PIN into the Jack of the laptop is broken and I can't be able to my laptop and my battery is running out of power

    The battery is in the battery-compatible A30 - 213 in the A30 714?

    And someone has other solutions?

Please answer as soon as possible

    Hello

First of all a few words about the battery.
If I m not wrong not the Satellite A30 213 uses the same battery as the A30-714.
Therefore, you should be able to use the same battery in both units A30.

With regard to the question on another solution.
Well, there is only one real solution. The power supply needs to be replaced.
I m not sure if it s only plugged or soldered on the map. However, I recommend you contact the ASP in your country for assistance.
This should be always replaced by a mobile technician because the dismantling procedure is very delicate and difficult.

    Best regards and good luck

  • Satellite A30 series can boot from USB external HDD?

    Hello

I have a satellite a30 series laptop. Anyone know if I can boot from usb hard drive? My bios has an option to boot from removable devices. I want to install linux but my laptop has only 30 GB of internal space and most of that is out of stock, that's why I want to install and run linux from a disk usb external hard.

    Thank you

As far as I know that something like this is not possible. To see if anyone has any other theories. ;)

  • Satellite A30 does not start with the USB device connected at boot time

    Hello

I have a Satellite A30 and sometimes it does not start.
After turning on, not even the BIOS starts.
even if sometimes the BIOS starts, but the OS does not load.

I figured out that its related to USB devices connected at boot time.
If no USB devices are connected, it starts without a problem.
Even if the start-up is suspended, as soon as you unplug start it BIOS USB devices.
Its ok to connect USB devices later, once the system has started.
I disabled "removable devices boot" and "network startup."
just in case, but it makes no difference.

BIOS is version the most recent (1.70) and it comes up with all kinds of USB devices.
printer, mouse and (self-powered) external USB hard disk.

    Is this a known issue?
There is no known workaround solution?

    Hello

I put t know why this happens, but it has to do with the BIOS.
The same thing happened on my old laptop. I couldn't start my unit while the USB printer has been turned on and connected.
The only solution is to disconnect the external USB device during the boot process.

RSY you should check if the order of boot in the BIOS has been on the HARD drive first.
