Thank you.

The Realtek RT8187B is the WiFi card in Notepad.

You should try to update the driver. Search on the WIFI portal for an update:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

More updated the BIOS to the latest version. You can find it on the Toshiba site:

  • Tecra M9: WLan not working not - not displayed in Device Manager

I've updated the Bios with the latest version, I turned on the switch on the front of the laptop wireless. I also tried FN + F8 but still no joy.

I have reset the default settings of the BIOS without change. The wireless light flashes when the computer begins to start, but after that, it turns off.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You said that the WLan card is not listed in Device Manager?
    Did you check that exactly?

Usually the WLan card must appear in Manager devices-> network adapters.
You don't see any yellow exclamation?

But to be honest, this story sounds really amazing.
Have you used the good BIOS? On the Toshiba European driver page are 2 different Tecra M9 series listed and these two different series supports different versions of the BIOS!
And the wrong version of BIOS that may affect the functionality of laptops!

    Ethernet controller tree is empty?

If so, the only thing you can try is to restore the factory deafult your OS (reinstall) and check to see if the network cards.

If this is not the case, there is probably a hardware problem.

    Hi mate,

Just a simple question: have you activated the wireless network adapter using the hardware on the computer switch portable and key combination FN + F8?

Satellite L300 is permanently equipped with wireless network card because a friend of mine had the same specifications.

However, you should try to update the WLAN driver. Check the download page of the Toshiba driver for an update.

  • Graphics cards GTX - 770M not detected in Device Manager

    Salvation;

My AW-18 does not correctly detect my GTX - 770 M (x 2) cards and display them in the Device Manager. What I see is that in the other devices section, there are two unknown devices listed, one of which I already know (not related). Any GTX cards appear in graphics cards.

Also, when I try to install GeForce experience, I get an error saying that I don't have cards chart for this program. It allows to launch fine until today (December 15, 2014).

This PC has a hard drive erasure and system reinstall in its history. It is possible that this point has been like that for this event.

The Hardware Id info on the elements of the mystery are as follows:

    ACPI\VEN_SMO & DEV_8810
    ACPI\SMO8810
    * SMO8810

    So I guess I have two questions;

    (1) can you tell me what is this mystery device?

    (2) why can I not see my graphics card in Device Manager, despite all the usual activities like the search of new hardware, drivers, etc..

    Thank you

    Graham

Also note that I had already run the troubleshooter from Dell and it detected no problems.

    I found a solution myself.

I looked at the BIOS settings by the F2 key at startup, and the only thing I could see I could try was to restore the default settings, so I did. My PC booted then up normally but for low resolution. Device Manager now showed two graphics cards, so I ran the installer of the latest GeForce drivers and the PC works now perfectly once more.

  • Re: Shows Satellite A300-243 with XP 64-bit? on the Device Manager

    Hello

I downloaded the Xp Professional-64 bit OS on my laptop.
But it show in Device Manager after that? on
    Adapters - adapter VGA according
Other devices - Audio Bus audio device high Defination
    -Device base system (4 issues)
-Bus Audio modem device high Defination
    -SM Bus controller
    -Video controller

Where can I find the dirvers for the latter

    Thank you
    Oliver

    Hello

You need drivers for Win XP 64 bit. That's fact.

-Video controller is a graphics card and the graphics card driver is necessary.
I think that the GPU is chip Mobile Intel GMA 45. Check the Intel driver page

-High Defination Audio Bus modem device it s a modem driver

-Audio Device on high Defination Audio Bus is the sound driver.
It s a Realtek audio chip and you can try to use the driver for the Realtek page.

But this is VERY important: you must first install MS KB835221 & KB888111 patch before install you the audio driver.
The patches are part of the SP3 too. Therefore, it would be desirable to install and update Win XP before installing the sound driver!

    See you soon

My optical drive does not show in the "Device Manager", the eject button does not work - I can only eject through the pin hole.

This means that the drivers are missing or that the disc is broken?

    I tried to restart.

Original title: Reader in mind windows 7

Its possible the drive has failed. Is this an internal or an external drive? In both cases, make sure that all cables are properly connected and functional, including the power cables. If its a USB external drive then try another USB port.

But, assuming that you tried to update the drivers (get the latest compatible drivers on the manufacturers for your brand/model/OS(32/64 bit) PC support site and install to see if that helps - first set a system restore point)) and then see if this MS article helps - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems?wa=wsignin1.0

  • Satellite Pro 430 CD: card wifi PCMCIA not recognised

I have this laptop old which is still in occasional use. It is already updated for Windows 98 SE and working reasonably well even so naturally more slow. I had considered to connect to a wireless router with a Wireless PCMCIA network card. Installation and implementation is supposed to be a simple but not quite simple procedure, because it does not work. Two PCMCIA slots are functional because they recognize and allow operation of the PCMCIA modem to access remotely.

However, the wireless network card is not yet recognized, and reading for the two slots indicates empty state. The map has been tested on another more recent laptop and is fully functional. Does anyone know if the old machine that above is even able to deliver what I'm trying to get by? The configuration required by the supplier/manufacturer of the card is a PC-compatible computer with a compatible CardBus 32-bit slot available and the operating system is Windows 98 SE, I have. It is possible, that I expect a lot of this old machine, can one through some light on the subject?

    Hello

I found information that your device can use 2 x PCMCIA Type II or 1 x PCMCIA of Type III. In my opinion, you should check your device specifications and there must be information law which PCMCIA card you can use with it (16 or 32 bit).

Also, I found a very interesting site on standards and PCMCIA cards. If you want you can check it out on http://www.sycard.com/pcard_qa.html.

  • Satellite A300 PSAG4A: Webcam not detected in Device Manager

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 PSAG4A 02L00M with Vista Home Premium 64-bit.
The webcam is not working and it is not detected in Device Manager.
When I install the Chicony camera drivers, I get the "Webcam driver open fail. Error message.

The fact that I can't see the Webcam in Device Manager tells me that there may be a hardware failure.
However, I hope that this is a setting that I can fix myself.

I had restored the laptop to factory also and I've updated the bios.
I tried to uninstall all the USB controllers and reboot the PC.

Is there something I can do?
    It's maybe a software problem?
    There may be a setting?

Best way to test the operation of the equipment is to check with the factory settings installation operating system with the Toshiba recovery image. As I see that you have done this already.

So if cam still doesn't work properly, I fear that there is a problem with the hardware.
It cannot be matter of software because the recovery image contains the driver for the cam.
