Satellite A60 - Power Saver no longer works

Hello

I have a SA-60 Satellite 743 EN Windows XP SP2. Recently, I tried to update the drivers with those provided on the Toshiba web site. When I installed the driver for the energy saver, my laptop refused to start: it froze when the Windows XP logo appeared. Thanks to the recovery console, I managed to do restart in uninstalling and reinstalling SP2.

But since then, I can't use the function keys, the saving for the screen and the processor and the IrDA. When I try to open the hardware configuration on the Console, a box appears with the message "Module common completed"(«Common Module fermé»). "» Can give you help to bring these functions without having to completely reinstall my OS?

Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Yves Bertini

Hello

The fact is that the common modules must be preinstalled at first, before installing any other Toshiba designed the tool or utility.
On the Toshiba download page, you can also find document instruction facilities with order of good facilities. Please check to be sure that you have installed all the things in the right order.

Good bye

Hi all, I have a Satellite A60 and I get the following error at startup. "" Power of Eve A fatal error has occurred that program will be terminated code ox2. Several times while it is connected my laptop turns off and to continue I need to connect again from the beginning up to. Can someone please help with a solution. Thank you, Mark.

    Hi Mark

The only thing you can try is to remove the energy saver and try to install it again. It is also possible that it will not help as there are entries in the registry. If there is no problem for you the best way is to reinstall the unit with recovery CD. After that it works again.

In my opinion, it is not easy to repair some specific tools such as energy saving.

What do you mean with it does not work?
    What energy savings you used?

The Vista operating system uses clean power options and there is no special Toshiba Power saver for Vista as for Win XP

    Hello

Don t be angry with me, but there's a saying:
    A blind person shouldn't judge colors.  ;)

OK, now something about your problem:
First of all, it would be very interesting to know why you install energy-saving.
Why don t you use the Toshiba Recovery CD?

I assume that you have installed a clean OS then the drivers Toshiba. Am I wrong?
In this case you need to install all THE drivers of Toshiba in the right order (installation instructions is passed on the Toshiba site)

PS: If the message "firstly to choose Toshiba Power Scheme in power properties appears try to turn on the Toshiba for energy savings in the:
Control Panel-> power-> power management options

  • Satellite A60 - laptop battery not charge/work

    Hello

My stop laptop when you use the battery power. It will not re-start until I plugged in to the power supply. Every time I disconnected power laptop would shutdown. laptop does not work on batteries, no lights are working.
When it is plugged seeing orange lights. Battery remains 90% fresh even after hours on departure av! I suggest that I can't use the battery power and the battery won't charge.
Only a new battery in a month and has worked well up until now.

I tried toshiba control energy saver but made no difference.

I can't say with certainty if this happens because of the battery or something. In my opinion, it can be either battery or electronic power supply.
Satellite A60's old laptop and everything is possible.

Pre-installed software doesn t have a any influence on this. Toshiba power saver is preinstalled to consumption, Manager, with other words to help reduce battery power consumption and longer battery.

  • Satellite P200 - Power Saver in XP does not

    Hello

I decided to make another thread so that questions can be answered. Right, so I installed Power Saver Driver, then reboot and then I install Power Saver, but when I try to access it from Control Panel I get a message saying 'CANNOT be opened because you do not access right to use 'TOSHIBA Power Saver'. Now, when I go in the SYs32 directory and search for Toshiba Power Saver related files I find a file named TPSBattM and when I try to run I get a "a fatal error has occurred, Code: 0 x 2.

I tried to reinstall and withdrawal, but it still isn't working. No one has a fix for this because this problem has been so annoying on plu laptop since then and TOSHIBA still have not resolved it.
I can't find the common Modules for Satellite P200-144. If someone could find them then it should start working again.

Thank you and please someone try to help me.

  • Satellite A100-649: battery no longer works

    Hello

    I bought a Toshiba Satellite A100-649 in June 2006.
Now, 3 months later, the battery no longer works.
Toshiba Powersaver says it's 94% of the power,
the LED shows that it is loading but it hangs just to 94%.

Well, I don't care if he could not load 100%, but this is
    What makes me angry:

If I don't have my power adapter plugged in, it does not work
more. It does not start up or anything. Nothing works.
    No LEDs + flashing, nothing.

Now what is that? I mean, this laptop is like 3 months
and the battery is already broken. A laptop without battery work
It's like a computer desktop-computer without a monitor or something.

So, maybe somebody has experiences like that or any ideas what I could do
(except the assistance of Toshiba or bring it back to the shop where)
I bought it, that's what I've done - nothing so far, nor in the store
    (or Toshiba).

    Welcome,

    Hello

It seems that your battery has a malfunction.
Generally, the warranty covers the battery for about a year. So in your case all repairs and replacement will be free.
In your case, I recommend to contact Toshiba service partner in your country and explain the guys the situation.
I m 100% sure they will help you.

I don't know if service point will have the entire notebook or only the battery broken m.
But these details you could discuss with the technician.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A60-122: screen does not work - rest black

    Hello!!

Can someone help me please on a screen problem? I have a Toshiba Satellite A60-122 and when I turn it on the screen does not work. It remains black as if the power of the laptop was turned off. I tried to connect the laptop to an external monitor, but it still does not work. I have no more ideas of what can do to make it work.

I already told to format the pc with the cd of restoration but without an image, it is impossible to do anything...
    Thank you

    Isabel

    Hello Isabel

I'm not an expert, but if there is no image on LCD internal display and the external monitor, I assume that there is a problem with the graphics card. I think you should contact the customer Service of your country partner and let check the device.

I also hope that the warranty is still valid and if something needs to be replaced they will do it for free.

Bye and let us know if you have more information about it.

Update you the BIOS to the XP version?

  • Satellite A60: Power and bios error

    Hello
A few days ago, I wanted to update my bios, so I downloaded the windows for this installer. I opened the file and the progress bar moved for a few seconds, and then the laptop froze. I have it left alone for more than an hour and then I turned off the camera.

I turned it back on, and it didn't go through the bios boot (update corrupted I think), I turned it back off.

turned back on, but the power button does not work and the lights won't turn on either...

so the problem is the following:
    (1) update corrupted bios
    (2) no lights whatsoever (no light battery, no power light, no nothing...)

the plug itself works, but I couldn't check the adapter (I don't think it's broken because it does not overheat or anything like that). also, I took the battery and it endured, but it did not help...

is that what I can do emse for Toshiba repair?

    can it still be fixed?

It is a A60-122 and was purchased on October 30 last year.

If you need more details, let me know.
any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

    Download bios here->

  • TOSHIBA Power Saver does not work with the limited user account

    Hello
This same question has been posted in 2006 - not by me - with no successful response. I try again.
If you create a user with the account of restrictions (member of the local USERS group) under XP, it cannot manage or power options Windows embedded and the Toshiba Power Saving tool.
I managed, working on the file and registry permissions, to have power options Windows works. But I can not yet launch the Toshiba Power Saving tool, it always skip - rises the box 'you have no rights. "

Is there really anything I can do to work around this problem?

    Thank you

    Yes:

    Log in as administrator
    Run the Toshiba Power Saver
    Go to "configuration Options".
Check "Allow Limited user to change settings"

  • Satellite U400 - the webcam no longer works

Hello guys here is my sudden probloema!
    A year ago I bought a laptop
    TOSHIBA - Satellite U400
with s.o. WinVista 32-bit and webcam built-in chicony etc...
Last year, everything worked properly, but since a few days, the webcam no longer works.
Whenever I try to open it, a message from the cam of management software that says "Webcam driver open fail, please reboot or the computer room.

I tried to do all this: aggioronato and downloaded the drivers from toshiba, uninstalled the program and re installed the webcam...! notebook bios set to day...! useless!
the strange thing... Although going into Device Manager... the webcam is not there...! But if the launch seems open just then check what caz... Caveat!

    Gan you help me?
    Graziee

If the cam is not listed in the devices (imaging devices) Manager, this normally means that the hardware is defective. It is possible that there is problem with the cable of the cam. Try to bring back the screen and check if the cam will be recognized again.
