Satellite A80: Update DirectX 9 .0c to play Call of Duty 2

Hello

It's Carlos. I have a portable Satellite A80, and I want to update the display driver to be able to play Call of Duty 2, in need of a Directx 9 .0c compatibility. Yet since 2005 it has some new drivers from Toshiba Web site. The last driver I have is compatible with DirectX 9. 0b. But the game does not work in my PC.

Toshiba will issue a new driver in the near future, or should I forget play this game because my laptop becomes obsolete?

Thank you very much

Hello

In my opinion, it is not necessary to update the display driver to install DirectX 9 c.
You can download it from the Microsoft DirectX Web site. Then try to install the new application.
Usually there should be no problem to update this version of DirectX.
Check it out.

    Hello

Start the DirectX using the command * dxdiag *.
There, you should check if all acceleration graphics card options have been enabled.

If that does not help, then you should try to update the graphics driver.
In most cases, the old graphics driver causes these questions because it s not completely compatible with the game.

    Check it out!

    Hello

I have problems with my video card.
When I was playing call of duty 4 5 minutes from my video card stops work and the restart of the screen.

Then he said: your video card no longer works and the problem solved.
My graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600.

    > Then he said: your video card no longer works and the problem solved.
    And? It works now?

Eventually the driver graphic hanging and that's why you have received this message.
It is also possible that the temperature of the GPU was too high and therefore the message appeared.
The COC 4 needs a lot of material resources and everything should run with maximum performance! Therefore, there are more high heat dissipation and this can lead to problems of graphics card.

    • What you have already tried to solve the problem I have updated my graphics records a few days ago from nvidia.com

The minidump files showed various stop without named third-party driver error as causing the crash.

One of the errors was an error VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR (119) which can be hardware related, but could be driver connected.

One thing c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys driver has been known to cause various errors blue screen in some configurations, so I recommend you to uninstall the application that has installed this driver, possibly it is Daemon Tools.

Then, uninstall the c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys - see "How can I remove driver SPTD on 32-bit operating system?" in the following link:

Also, remember to update ATK0110 driver for the motherboard, you may need to find the latest driver for Windows 7 under Windows Vista.

Also, consider updating the BIOS version 1401.

  • Error "Library not registered" and "access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000 "while trying to play Call of Duty 2 on Windows 7 64 bit

Original title: Call of Duty 2 on windows 7: first window said: library not registered. After a minute, seven or more pop-up windows to say the same thing: access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000

I tried to play Call Of Duty 2 on windows 7 64 premium.  After installation, if I choose to click on the shortcut on the desktop, it keeps invites me to insert the correct CD in the drive.  That right is already in the drive.  If I have the game from the CD autorun, it invites library not registered.  Then opens upward of seven windows or more with the same message: access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000.  the map system, game and video have all been updated and installed the latest patch for Call of Duty 2.  The funky thing is, if I use the fix offered for Vista I can get the multiplayer game to work, but the single player mode is still inaccessible.  I tried changing the compatibility, tried to use the option of windows XP mode and tried to open it in a new window and ran it under administrator.  nothing has worked, suggestions?

I have thought about it myself, do what I tried above and activate the function of compatibility with Windows Vista service pack 2.  If you do not know the fix vista, click Start, Control Panel, hardware and sound, click sound, and then click the recording TAB.  Right click on a space in the tab itself, when see her disable devices is displayed click on to show them.  stereo mix is show in the tab, right click on that and turn on.  Only, remember, insert the CD, do not autorun installation just right click on the icon setup on the CD itself and open a new window.  run as administrator and install.  After that, go ahead and install the latest version of Patch 1.3 for Call of Duty 2.  When all is said and done don't forget to change the compatibility mode to Windows Vista service Pack 2. Note to Microsoft: Windows XP mode is a great idea, except that you dropped the ball twice, #1 - should have a version of it to support windows 7 Edition home premium for topics such as this for the public #2 - you must enable a way to get the video settings within the windows XP mode , in short to make a windows operating system that will play a game out there that has already been done to PC.

Use the keyboard to go to Options/display settings. Full screen is enabled by default. Change it to windowed mode windowed (no border). You will notice that the mouse icon changes to that drawn by the game, not the operating system, and the game will work fine again.

    Hello

As far as I know, this unit was delivered with a Mobile Intel 915 GM Express Chipset AlvisoGM graphics card.
Toshiba recommends to use own graphics card drivers, because they are specially designed for the use of the laptop.
    Please check this pilot site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

There you should find a driver 6.14.10.3943 version.

But usually it of not easy to say why you game won t run.

  • Play Call of Duty 4 on Satellite P100-434

    Hi all

I recently bought my Toshiba Satellite P100-434 (Intel 1.66 Dual / 2 GB RAM / Go7600) and we just tried on the game system.
I installed COD4 and tried to play, but it seems that the laptop has trouble running.

I've updated my display drivers for 32-bit vista nvidia those downloaded from this site seems to have done very little, or even no difference.

I only run the game with each setting to minimal with resolution of 640 x 480 and it is still fighting.
Everything on the laptop must be sufficient to operate this game except for the cpu that is recommended a dual 1.8 and it's a double of 1.66. just that would be why the game does not work as well?

I would not have thought so.
I have had friends who have run this game on pc spec worse.

Any suggestions what might be my problem or what else I could do to improve performance?

    Thank you very much...

    Hello

If have a Satellite phone with an AMD processor performance and the most recent card ATI Radeon graphics.
I m running Windows XP due to the better performance of game. Vista needs of more material resources, and that's why I prefer the XP.

Anyway, last week I ve installed the COD4 and believe me this game needs more resources than you think.
However, you should be able to run the COD4 using resolution 1024 x 768. But it s another question if COD4 will run smoothly.

However, I found a Toshiba FAQ doc about a few videos "stutter" during the game using Windows Vista:
    Check this box:

    [New video driver and BIOS eliminates video "stutter" during the game (Windows Vista): http://askiris.toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=1924 764xml & sliceId = & dialogid = 46208288 & stateId = 0% 200% 20 46206416]

With regard to this doc the driver display & BIOS update should improve performance.

    Hello

It seems that the issue could be with the file to install the game. I suggest you to uninstall the game and then get the new installation disc. Reinstall the game using the new drive and see if that fixes the problem.

  • He can not find the sound controls for Satellite A80?

Hi, Im a very recent user of a satellite A80, it only 4 days, I played a cd and could not find a graphic equalizer or sound. I enter the area of assistance to Toshiba, but it would not allow me to change the bass and treble, can someone help me with this.
The cd automatically plays in Windows media player, is there a special program, already installed on the hard disk, CD, or is Windows media player should I use?
    Thanks in advance,
    Deb

    Hi Deb,

You don't say what version of Windows Media Player you have. However, there will be a graphic equalizer option somewhere, but it can be well hidden.

I recommend you to download the latest version from the Microsoft Web site.

The graphic equalizer WMP V9 is available by clicking on an icon in the small window at the bottom left of the screen (if you move the pointer above it is called ' select now playing Options ") which gives a drop-down menu on which the third element is called IMPROVEMENTS. This will be expanded to show the graphic equalizer.

Of course, you can use other software to read CDs. If you right-click on the CD-ROM item in your workstation
you will be able to define which program you want to use to play CDs.
