Satellite C660 - 2 EV suddenly started giving me the BSOD

Last week my laptop 2 years suddenly started giving me the BSOD. It doesn't seem to be anything that triggers it. Do not know what information I provide, but I tried a restore of the system to an earlier date, but that did not fix.

I managed to make a backup of data, and I have no recovery disks. I also bought an extended warranty last year.

I should arrange to have it repaired or is there something else I can try first?

Thank you.

> I provide but I tried a restore of the system to an earlier date, but that did not fix.

I put t think it's the best choice. I would recommend you to retrieve the computer laptop back to the factory settings, either using the Toshiba HDD recovery or the Toshiba recovery disc.

If BSOD would appear after the system recovery, I recommend you to check exactly the content of BSOD.
Sometimes non-compatible drivers could cause the BSOD.

But of course, also the hardware problems (memory problems) could be the reason for BSOD.
In this case, you must contact the Toshiba ASP to verify the material.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say with certainty what the problem, but it must be something with the motherboard. One thing would be interesting: when the operating system starts correctly can you use unlimited number of time or is just cuts off after a while?

  • Keyboard suddenly started giving double letters.

My Microsoft "Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000" has suddenly started giving double letters (liike sited).  Running the mskey utility shows that there are two 'makes' then a 'break '.  Increase the repeat delay (since the time the shortest time) solves the problem, but stocks as a return back annoyingly slow.  I used this keyboard for almost a year, and other keyboards before that for many years, the shortest delay repeatedly with absolutely no problem.  My typing has not slowed between yesterday and today.  In addition, I noticed watching carefully that the second letter often appears after a noticeable delay, certainly once I took out the key.  I shook the keyboard upside down and blown air according to the instructions provided by Microsoft, does not.  I've not spilled something on the keyboard, and the double letter occurs randomly for all characters, so I don't think it's a dirty key selector.  Someone has ideas which could have caused the problem and what can be done to remedy this?  Thank you.

  • Satellite C660 - 115 WLan connection only works when the power cable is connected

    Hello

A few weeks ago, I bought a Satellite C660-115. I want to surf the internet anywhere in my house without any son/cables.
On the first day, I had this problem: when I disconnect _power_ cable, the wireless connection will stop working.

The Web page on my screen will always be there, but a new page loading is a problem.
It is sometimes useful to recharge (by pressing F5), - sometimes not. It is always useful to "ip address of repair", but not for long.

The only solution is to atach regardless of how much power the battery has still the power cord.
When I do, it is no problem whith the connection at all.
I went back to the store where I bought it, they related to their own wireless network and they have had the same problem after a few minutes. In the shop too attach the power cable solved the problem.

So the problem must be in my lap top, not in my network (modem or almost).

Doesn't this all seem familiar, and if so, how can I solve this?

I hope that my English is understandable, I live in Holland.
    Thanks in advance!

Well a few weeks earlier, soon as I bought this new computer, I started to meet the BSOD with KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. I am running Windows 7 on a laptop Asus G60JX. Not long after the first time it happened, I looked at the problem and ran a disk check to find only my computer would start is more upward. I decided to reformat my computer and everything worked well again for about 2 weeks and now it is happening again. My computer starts well but every once in a while the mouse will stop working and it will go to the BSOD and say something on the dumping of physical memory. You said Details of the bugcheck 0x7a - KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR - "this bug check indicates that the data page of the kernel of the required paging file cannot be read in memory."  It is usually an indication of a failing drive.  Error code was met was "0xC000009D or STATUS_DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED, indicates defective wiring or loose, termination or that the controller does not see the hard drive."

However, you can check "you receive various Stop in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2 error messages when you try to resume a computer that has a large hard drive SATA" and see if the fix applies to you.

  • Satellite C660-108 does not start if the USB Bluetooth dongle connected

    Hiya,

I hope you could help me.

I'm having a problem with my dongle bluetooth and satellite c660-108.
It all works perfectly. It connects devices via bluetooth and I can do whatever I want.

But then when I'm mobile stop and turn it on again it will go if the bluetooth dongle is always in the USB.

I see Toshiba screen and then it hangs with a black screen and a cursor flashing at the top left.
I have to turn it off, remove the bluetooth dongle and then turn it back on.
And then windows starts. After that, I put in bluetooth dongle, once again I want to work with her.

It isn't a huge problem, but it is a bit annoying when I have to leave the bluetooth and put it back again to get the windows began.
I'm running under win 8.1 but he already had with 8 victory.

    Anyone any ideas?

    > I see Toshiba screen and then it hangs with a black screen and a cursor flashing at the top left.
Especially the blinking cursor is displayed because the laptop can not find a boot device.

It seems that the device cannot put on the HARD drive while the USB dongle is connected.
I would recommend you check the boot order in the BIOS.

Put the HARD drive in the first place and the USB boot last device.
Save changes and check if it helps.

  • My Satellite C660-1UJ does not start

    Hello people,

My laptop Toshiba Satellite * c660-1uj starts up.

It does nothing when I press the powerbutton.
When I connect the poweradapter I hear a clicking sound, as it is with or without the battery and I also see the light (led) battery flashes green.

I think it has something to do with my motherboard, but I'm not sure.

I would like to be sure before you buy a new.
Does anyone know where the problem is and how to fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Sjoerd

    > I think it has something to do with my motherboard, but I don't know.
Yes, I think that this problem could be related to problems of motherboard.
But this would be the worst case, given that the new motherboard is very expensive part I gues guarantee is not valid?

But why you put the memory t-test? Faulty RAM memory may prevent startup laptop and power. Replace the RAM module is not very difficult.

Of course, you would need to buy new modules for verification, but maybe you could visit some technicians computer/laptop to downtown who could test the device with new RAM modules.
In this case it would be pointless to buy the parts for testing purposes only.

  • Satellite C660-2EL does not start

    Hi guys,.

After a few days full of frustration here I am.

I am working on a friends Satellite C660-2EL
He was stuck in the endless loop of boot Win 7 and would not be recovered by any means.

So I decided a format was the way to go.
After the format using partition magic everything's fine.
I reinstalled Win 7 and the installation was also fine. Once the installation is complete, and it's a reboot that I decided to jump into the BIOS and change the order of boot if I put the CD Drive first. If after changing the settings and then save and quit this crap won't start at all now, no CD HD or anything else.

The toshiba screen flashes upward, but when I hit F2 now it freezes just tell to get into Setup.
When I try to hit F12 the screen goes back to the blinking cursor.
If I press anything I get the white screen with the cursor.

I saw a video on you tube to reset the CMOS, I tried it work with no luck.

    Any ideas guys?

    Hello

You want to say you have a cursor blinking in the upper left corner and the unit does not start CD or HARD drive?
The blinking cursor is above all a sign of failure of the HARD drive.

I recommend that you check the HARD drive with the help of a tool (freeware) called Drive Fitness Test.
This tool creates a bootable disk that scans the HARD drive for malfunctions.

If the HARD drive's fault, it be replaced

  • Satellite C660 is unable to start for the first time

    I have a Satellite C660 - PSC0AQ-03C019 + 1B194392K

For the last year laptop worked fine in the last 2 months, however he had a problem starting. The first starting attempt of the day, it does not start, it is consumed on gets in front of splash screens after the cursor flashing in the top left then hold with a blank screen (not the cursor just a low glow).

Hold down the power button / turn off and turn on again then the computer will start. sometimes (not always), it will ask to start normally or repair.

The laptop works perfectly in use does not fall out of mistakes. Restarting the laptop works as expected close and turn on/off after 5 minutes works great.

If the laptop is left for an hour or more, it starts the same as above. turn off and turn on/off the system will start but with boot normally the question.

He has not indicated in the error logs files

I did a full reinstall of HARD drive recovery system.
I did a full system reinstall from recovery DVDs.
I did a full system reinstall from DVD disk a hard new recovery.
    I replaced the ram

I tried to update the bios, but get an error

    Hello

The description of your problem is, for me, quite confusing, and I do not understand your problem.
Can your notebook load and start the preinstalled operating system or not?

Enter the BIOS and set it to default settings. After that restart your laptop and to describe what is happening exactly.

  • Satellite C660-268 does not start, no start screen

My laptop Toshiba Satellite C660-268 was installing updates, then it froze for half an hour, I decided to force quit by pressing the power button.

I tried power, portable could not wake up, I can hear the fan but screen is not black, no post/splash screen (Bios screen), turn on the led goes for a few seconds and then turn off. I tried to press the important function, but nothing could make my laptop boot or stay on. Please,

I need your help in order to remake my boot laptop

I think that some of the material died during update installation.
From my point of few, it was simply bad luck that this error occurred during the update of the system.

There is only one real solution: the troublemaker should be found and replaced.

Theoretically, this issue can result from memory problems, but also the failure of the motherboard. The RAM modules are not very expensive and where the RAM is faulty, the fix is not a big problem.

But in case of malfunction of the motherboard, the laptop repair could be a very costly affair.

What could be the next step?
I think if you have no experience of mainframe, you should seek some professional help and assistance.

  • Satellite C660-17J does not start

My nephew of friends has a C660 which, once you turn on shows the home screen Toshiba with a Panel down showing the next "press F2 to start, press F12 to the menu of boot options. How can you define to be able to boot directly from the HARD drive without having to press F12 and select hard drive?

If everything is OK, you should not do this and portable starts automatically. Enter the BIOS settings, set it to default settings and try to restart the laptop.
What is original OS preinstalled on this machine? I mean the version of the OS that you got with it (WIN7 64-BIT HOME PREMIUM).

  • Satellite C660-117 - does not start, does not load

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite C660-117, and recently I had problems with the power with her. I found that it is capricious, when it comes to the charge, and recently I have if he had sat in one place that I knew would charge like that, she decided to carry the laptop elsewhere and because not able / load power since the battery down dry. I have not tried to reconnect where I had initially (and it is not really appropriate that she be sitting in one place, mainly because it is partially in the way of a desktop system).

I tried various things, taking the battery and the AC adapter on, leaving for awhile, then connect their return and also to get out them, by pressing the power button for 30 seconds and in reconnecting him back, but the problem seems to be between the power adapter and the laptop itself (no power is going to the laptop of the sector). I also tried to use a different power adapter from another laptop, but it did not work either.

I was wondering if there was another option that I could try, or if I'm stuck with having to buy another laptop, as it is waaaaaaaaaaaay out of warranty. I'd rather not go for this option, nor can really afford to send him off for a while to be repaired because of the time it would probably.

    Thanks in advance!

If the laptop can't run with AC power only there is a problem with electronic power supply to the motherboard.
Sorry, but these questions, you need professional help. Problem is that the remedy will be quite expensive.
So perhaps the best solution for you is to sell it on ebay because several pieces of equipment can be used for replacement and buy new laptops.

  • Satellite C660-1CQ - graphics pretty tense horizantally after the installation of Win10

    I have a laptop Satellite C660-1CQ.

After that I have upgraded to windows 10, screen, icons, wallpapers are stretched horizontally. (Looks the same as the graphics in safe mode). I use it in normal mode, but everything is still as safe mode. everything works well but the computer completely resembles the safe mode.

And the computer seems a little slow now and fan started making noises.

I think that your model of laptop is not supported for Win10, so it is possible that you will be faced with some problems. Can you change display resolution?

2 weeks before, when I tried to switch the fans started spinning and the LED lit and after about 2 seconds, it restarts without showing anything on the screen.

There is also no beeps or anything.

I tried almost everything: remove the hard drive, screen, wireless card, dvd player, change the RAM between the slots...
    It makes no difference if.

So I think it's a problem of memory or the motherboard is dead, what do you think?

    > So I think it's a problem of memory or the motherboard is dead, what do you think?
Yes, the mentioned parts could cause this problem

But it would be the worst case and you must contact the Toshiba ASP for more details

Before that you would get in contact with ASP, I recommend you try this:

-Remove the battery, disconnect the adapter.
    -Wait 30-60 minutes
-Bring the two parties together and try to turn on the laptop
