Satellite C660 - 20 M PSC1QE hang up - BSOD

After 7 months, C660 - 20 M PSC1QE-02L00YAR began to hang up, the windows operating system 7, has been reinstalled.
After you have reinstalled Windows 7 complete edition, it started getting blue screen and must be turned off and on again.

All device drivers installed correctly, including video Nividia Ge-force.

Any suggestion to solve the problem is very much appreciated.

Have you used the Toshiba Recovery disk which would fix the unit to the factory settings or have you installed a clean Windows 7?

From my point of view these blockages are caused by serious problems of software or hardware questions typical material could be a drive problem HARD or memory problems.

What do you think?

Wow what a disaster, this is a machine under windows 7-32 bit Satellite C660 PSC1GA-01E01M stuck in an infinite loop of BSOD.

The lappy said that it was ok to upgrade to windows 10 so... Yes, I did.
Now its stuck in a loop without end of BSOD.

So I decided to use the recover option and reinstall windows 7 and then move from there.
After mega downloads updates and finally got to the stage where there was no update on the left to get, so I decided to upgrade to windows 10 even once.

Now stuck in an endless loop of BSOD again.

    HELP PLEASE

Toshiba has released a list with all Toshiba models supported for upgrading to Windows 10
    http://win10upgrade.Toshiba.com/swup...SPX?region=TEG

Satellite C660 PSC1GA is not in the list, which means that this model is not supported to win 10 and will not get win 10 drivers.

However the Win 10 must run on this device, because it meets the essential physical requirements.

I guess the BSOD loop arise due to some drivers which are not entirely compatible Win 10 and probably these drivers must be removed before making the Win 10 update.

To check the compatibility follow this procedure:

    • Right-click on the icon 'Get Windows 10' (on the right side of the taskbar), then click on "Check the status of your upgrade".
    • In the app to get Windows 10, click on the menu: (3 lines) and then click on "Check your PC.
    • Now you should see the list of compatibility issues

Also this kind of problem could be fixed by Microsoft update, as mentioned in this article:
    http://www.Forbes.com/sites/amitchow...s-reboot-loop/

  • Satellite C660-24F: win 10 BSOD - system thread exception unhandled

I upgraded my Toshiba Satellite C660-24F to windows 10 pro. After the upgrade it restarts again and again showing the dead blue screen with the message
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. (athwbx.sys). How can I get rid of this error?

athwbx.sys which is mentioned in your message, belongs to the Atheros WLan driver...

So, I think that the BSOD appeared because of compatibility problems between the Win 10 and driver Atheros...

    Possible solution:

I think that deletion of the Atheros driver in Device Manager should help you to solve this...

Please keep the device connected to the internet using LAN.

So after uninstalling the Atheros WLan driver and you restarted the laptop, Win 10 should automatically find a driver compatible WLan to internet automatically...

  • Satellite C660 - Windows 7 64 bit BSOD after upgrade RAM

    Hi guys

    my laptop Specs: Satellite C660-1JG
    -Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit (pre-installed, Toshiba-HDD recovery)
    -Intel® Celeron® Processor T3500
    -2048 MB of RAM DDR3 (800 MHz).

recently I increase my RAM to 4 GB (2 + 2 GB), since its installation, as soon windows7 64 bit beginning of loading, finished with BSOD. load BSOD Windows sometimes very well, but in a minute or two appears. I can confirm that it does not read the total RAM of 4 GB, I checked while the laptop was about 2 to 3 minutes ON. then I go out 1 RAM stick laptop is fine, no BSOD!

so question raises if the RAM is at fault, incompatibility etc, but I have the dual boot OS and other OS is Ubuntu 11. who reads the 3.84 GB RAM and without crashing or BSOD or any question.

Then I installed Windos 7 32 bit to see if that still has problems with 4 GB of RAM, but NO, 32 bit reads RAM 4 GB (usable 2.8 GB). without crashing or BSOD with 32, only problem with windows 64-bit version!
I checked the specification it says Max RAM 4 GB Ram and yes it supports 4 GB RAM with Linux and win7 32-bit.

I tried to update BIOS version 1.20 (currently on 1.40), but still got error: Firmware has no support of Flash (AFUWINGUI).
I was wondering if any of you can guide me to the right direction.
    Thanks in advance

  • BSOD on Satellite C660-1RR

Hi, my laptop, Toshiba Satellite C660-1RR, has terrible problems. First of all, the blue screen (BSOD) appears, and then the laptop stops or restarts again and again. Then closed, it only opens after hours later. When turned on, it only lasts for 5 minutes.

All drivers were installed and re-installed, but the same problem still exists.

    Help, please.

    Hello

There are different reasons for the BSOD errors.
The BSOD may appear due to serious problems or hardware malfunction.

You can easily check if its software or hardware related problem.
Take your Toshiba Recovery disk and set the computer laptop back to factory settings.
In case this will not solve the BSOD problem, the problem is definitely caused by hardware problems.

Have you noticed a higher internal temperature?
I had a similar problem with my laptop 6 year old. Because of the dust, internal memory modules could not be cooled and this caused BSOD.
I had cleaned the cooling fans and removed the dust using a jet of compressed air.

This solved BSOD problem for awhile

  • Satellite C660 - 2 EV crashed with BSOD and won't start

My laptop Satellite C660 - 2 EV running Windows 7, without apparent reason crashed to blue screen of death, after which it would not restart.

I tried to reboot in safe mode with the function keys, but it is the extent of loading: windows\system32\drivers/classpnp.sys and then just sitting there. Different Internet stations, it would appear that there is no definitive answer to this problem. It is recommended to recharge using recovery disks or hidden image.

I can't access the user manual as it is on the laptop so I've referenced various positions on the internet. I had created for repair and recovery disks when I bought the laptop and so on to different positions, I started my system with the repair disk and the process began.

Unfortunately, the screens that appeared were different from those in positions and as I don't have access to a manual, I don't know if I'm following the correct procedure.

Can someone provide me with a PDF for a C660 laptop user manual - 2 EV?

If someone can advise me how to reload Windows 7?

    Thank you in advance.

S user guides document can be downloaded from http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_manuals.jsp
Anyway, if you created the recovery disc please start your laptop and press f12 to get into the boot menu. When menu of startup appears on-screen set recovery disc 1 into the optical disk drive and choose the CD/DVD device as a boot device and press ENTER.

Installation should start. What you need to do is just follow the menu on the screen. It should be similar as sown on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

  • Satellite C660-108 does not start if the USB Bluetooth dongle connected

    Hiya,

I hope you could help me.

I'm having a problem with my dongle bluetooth and satellite c660-108.
It all works perfectly. It connects devices via bluetooth and I can do whatever I want.

But then when I'm mobile stop and turn it on again it will go if the bluetooth dongle is always in the USB.

I see Toshiba screen and then it hangs with a black screen and a cursor flashing at the top left.
I have to turn it off, remove the bluetooth dongle and then turn it back on.
And then windows starts. After that, I put in bluetooth dongle, once again I want to work with her.

It isn't a huge problem, but it is a bit annoying when I have to leave the bluetooth and put it back again to get the windows began.
I'm running under win 8.1 but he already had with 8 victory.

    Anyone any ideas?

    > I see Toshiba screen and then it hangs with a black screen and a cursor flashing at the top left.
Especially the blinking cursor is displayed because the laptop can not find a boot device.

It seems that the device cannot put on the HARD drive while the USB dongle is connected.
I would recommend you check the boot order in the BIOS.

Put the HARD drive in the first place and the USB boot last device.
Save changes and check if it helps.

To be honest, you can be happy that your laptop works because many people have had bad luck after the BIOS update fail.

In my opinion, you shouldn't be playing with BIOS updates. At the end you may damage the BIOS update and your laptop won't boot at all. Maybe you should contact Toshiba service provider and clarify this point. Ask for help. They should do it for you. If something goes wrong, it is not your fault.

Be careful with this. This is just my opinion and advice for you. Don t change well running system.

  • Satellite C660 freezes when WLan connection to WPA encrypted networks

    Hello everyone

I have a toshiba satellite C660-A259 (Middle East version).
The laptop is great, but it has a major problem.
Whenever I try to connect to WPA / WPA2 networks, laptop computer freezes completely during the connection, dragging me to hard it boot.

Sometimes it connects to wpa networks then hangs after some time, or with success connects but freezes on stop. However, the laptop connects without problems to networks with WEP encryption, without any security or via ethernet networks.

The wireless network adapter is Atheros AR9002WB-1NG.
I tried to update the software for the adapter on your support site, but it did not work, he did the wireless not working not at all, so I used sytem restore to return to normal.

    Please help and thanks :)

  • Re: Overheating and lag issues on the Satellite C660/C660D

    Hello community of Toshiba

I am a new user of Toshiba, I have a new Toshiba laptop as a model of its Satellite C660 / C660D, I use my new laptop for 6 months and I have some kind of a lot of time on my laptop. Sometimes I keep it open for more than 10 hours.

My problem is like 3-4 months at the bottom right of the screen there is a caution came out as "there's something wrong with your hard drive, you should give it to any service of Toshiba for warranty".
But it happened because I played on users, I mean users option for windows, not something material, changing just the current user name caused this and he now has weird name when I reversed the name change; He turned to something like TOSH ~ 1, etc.

After several times, I mean like 1 month ago, my computer got very slow. Video games with their high resolution, but now the phone LAGS even I put it in low resolution, I played... I did not change any material or touched. But it is frustrating to see that I can't do the things I used to do more.

Another thing is, I'm afraid of the heat from the laptop. Is it normal to have 49-50 degrees? Because when I play games, it is around this level. I live in a hot city.

Some people asked me to use HD Tune to check that if I have a bad sector on the hard drive, I did. Does not work either.
I deleted some of my files to get the free space on my HARD drive also, likely 150 concerts altogether. I even wiped the empty space in my HDD via CCleaner. I often do the basis of registry-fix with it as well. Movies and games flash hangs out as well. And sometimes when I watch videos, the sound cuts, so I have to pause, and then click play it again to fix it but it happens in various video players, not youtube. Very probably all watching anime.

And what do I do? I don't want to go for the service, I'm sure they'll make me wait several weeks of 100%. I use usually my laptop with its adapter. Oh and, over the life of my laptop, 2 - 3 times he got stopped himself while it wasn't on the map whenever I check, he was really but really hot.

So, what should I do? I don't want to open the computer to look inside, I do not understand, and he would risk my 2 year warranty.

I am looking forward for your answers, I'll be very happy. Thank you.

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. In General, you should think about upgrading the RAM to the maximum level. With more RAM laptop should have more power and different operations should be made much more quickly.

To make my laptop better and faster I ve upgraded RAM to the maximum level and also changed SSD HARD drive. So big difference there and phone now works like a rocket. Think about upgrading RAM.
    > Another thing is, I'm afraid of the heat from the laptop. Is it normal to have 49-50 degrees?
From my point of view, this temperature is normal and certainly not too high. When you use your laptop, place it on the office and ensure that the cooling fan and cooling rack are free and not blocked.

Don t open your laptop. Anyway, you can't do anything except to void your warranty. RAM upgrade can be done by the owner of the laptop and it will not void your warranty.

    Is this a Windows problem?

Here is a message I received in Windows7forums on this subject but I don't understand what he means, can understand you for me please? e

    * Re: Heeelp! Your computer ran into a problem! *

These screens generally include a sentence in the screen "fallen on problems." Usually something like Violation of Watchdog DPC (Deferred procedural call) and are often associated with a bad driver and or a power saving state not supported (sleep, hybrid sleep, hibernate, etc.,)

First of all, make sure that you have the latest drivers from your computer manufacturer and or the individual device manufacturer's Web site. Then consider whether this computer manufacturer includes any software that may be incompatible with Windows 8 CP or is somehow patented conflict with Windows 8 CP in energy saving power scheme options. You may need to experiment a little, maybe remove the proprietary tools or taste affecting your schema of high performance or even the options down or max.

The overview of consumption is more or less a new frontier for everyone here to work through this kind of problem is going to be informative and beneficial for all who read your thread, so please keep us posted as to how you are progressing with your current number.

    Hello

Blue screen of death (BSOD) may be caused by software or hardware problems.
To know if it of really a software problem, you can try running a HARD drive recovery procedure which would fix the laptop back to factory settings.

What is an option for you?
    If Yes, check this:
+ How to recover a Toshiba notebook with the HDD recovery procedure.
