    Hello

Have you tried to boot from the recovery CD Toshiba?
Try to do it. If the CD/DVD drive may start on the recovery CD and then everything goes well with the material.
Sometimes the CD / DVD cannot be read by incorrect registry entries.

Then try to reinstall the operating system and check if the drive can handle the Toshibas recovery CD!

  • Satellite L30 - DVD player will not read CD - R / CD - RW

I have a L30 with a carpet * a ram drive uj-850 s DVD. He reads prerecorded CDs/DVDs, but during the insertion of a CD - R or CD - RW with files that have been burned on the disc it comes tells me that I have inserted a blank disc.

Also does not burn a disk (tried to burn files to Itunes and it seems to work but the disc was blank when I tried to read).

I read on another forum that I should delete the upper & lower registry values filters in the folder {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} in the registry, which I think could be the wrong advice to follow.

I deleted the upper part and then realized the lesser wasn't there anyway - it has not solved the problem and I think that it may have caused instability as I have weird errors with different applications since then.

    Help, please.

    > removed the upper part and then realized the lesser wasn't there anyway - it has not solved the problem and I think that it may have caused instability as I have weird errors with different applications since then.

Well well... from my personal experiences, the results of burning depends on different factors.
First that not all CD and DVD is cared for and compatible. You need to test different manufacturers!

Second, the different burning pre-installed applications could have a negative influence on the burning process! I only use Nero and AI? m very happy!
Last but not less dysfunction of CD/DVD could cause this problem.

SO what to do?  :| First check if other media works properly and try to burn with Nero. It would also be desirable to renew the operating system to avoid errors in program!

    Good luck

  • Satellite A100 - DVD player not working not not after a CDDA extraction

    Hello.
I have the same question of the user who posted this:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=23501

All started when I tried to copy an audio CD which was pretty bad. After that, I can not listen to audio CDs more, nor see any video DVD; the drive is unusable for this.
    Work of data transfer.

I think that request and emphasizing the goal a little more than normal and * time * should not be a disk almost unusable.
Since it is the question of the other user, I feel like that.

(More difficult) replacement disks are available for sale (the PC is out of warranty a month)? Or there is no other solution? Thanks a lot to read me.

    Francesca

    Hi Francesca

Are you sure that it's a hardware problem?

This looks a bit like a malfunction of reader lens, but perhaps it's only a software problem (registry)...

Sometimes bad registry entries could prevent the equipment works properly.
I mean the value of the upper and lower filter.
Completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    and restart the laptop.

But of course if the lens of the player is unable to calibrate properly and therefore it is not possible to read the other CD/DVD.
In this case, the disk must be replaced :(

The problem is that not all readers are compatible because different master/slave/c-select settings. If you want to buy and new CD/DVD drive then you should certainly contact the service provider allowed in your country to obtain and information which drives are supported and can be installed.

Best regards and happy new year

  • Satellite L355 - DVD player not recognized

    Hi all

    I have a Satellite L355.

One day I was restore the laptop at the same time when I plug it.
All of a sudden after all I have insert restore CD in my drive and it wan't recognize my CD drive.
Nothing shows in post working either in BIOS.

I already removed the filter upstream and downstream in the registry and still nothing.
The CD player will not even try to start when I restart the laptop. How do I make it work?
I have Windows Vista Home Edition.

    Thank you

    Hello

    > Nothing present in the work station in BIOS
Hardware problem, I want to say that if the BIOS does not recognize the CD/DVD drive (no details are listed), then its hardware based question looks like.

Just a question; The ODD (optical disc) is listed in the Device Manager?
You see something like yellow exclamation?

Have you tried to start using different discs like win XP CD or Linux Live CD?
    Check it!

  • Satellite P200 - 1FC: CD/DVD player won't start - error Code 10

My Satellite P200 - 1FC was purchased in January 2008 and preloaded with Vista Home Premium. The DVD/CD drive is listed in the device as "TSST corp CDDVDW TS - L632H ATA Device" Manager.

Initially, the drive worked perfectly, but recently refused to start. Device Manager it shows now with a yellow exclamation point and its status is given as "this device cannot start. (Code 10) ».

By clicking on 'could not load driver software' product solutions but not solution.

The search for similar issues in the forums of users suggests that use of a page of Microsoft Support Help & directed "the CD-ROM drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista".

However it is to change the registry! As a relative novice, I am reluctant to do unless I can find no easier way.

Should I bite the bullet and and enter into this minefield, or is there a better way?

    > At first the car worked perfectly, but recently refused to start. Device Manager it shows now with a yellow exclamation point and its status is given as "this device cannot start. (Code 10) ».

Certainly, this error is caused by an incorrect registry entry.
I had this error several times and I solved this disassembly of these registry keys upper and lower filters:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Here are a few steps how it worked on my Windows system;
-J' removed the Device Manager CD/DVD drive
-Then edited the registry as described above
    -Restarting the laptop

I'm sure that this will also help you.

    Good bye
