Satellite L300 PSLB8E - connection WLan keeps falling

Hi all

Have gotten my Satellite L300 PSLB8E some 2 months ago and since the first day (RTL8187b) wireless is having serious problems.

Continuous wireless connection drop if other phones that I use at home are very good.
LAN on the same Satellite works fine as well, it's just wireless problem with this particular machine.

I have tried to restore the system, using recovery discs, tried every possible update Toshiba as Realtek, but problem remains intact.

Help, please!

Mustafa

Hello

What version of BIOS you have on your laptop?

There is a version v1.8 of BIOS on the European driver Toshiba page.
Check if you have a lower version. If so update!

In addition, I would recommend WLan driver download Realtek page:
http://www.Realtek.com.tw/

You can find the most recent driver.

Last but not least that it would be a good idea to verify that the settings in the Panel-> WLan card properties-> Advanced tab.
Here you can change the encryption, the channel and the power saving settings.
I recommend turning off the energy-saving WLan card.

You should also update the Vista of the State. I read that Vista has caused a lot of issues that have been fixed with the latest patches and fixes.

  • Satellite SL20-205: connections WLan keeps falling works

It has been a problem on my Satellite SL20-205 I bought it, but now it has arrived more irritating. (Intel BG2200) wireless network adapter card drivers are up to date and XP SP2 is installed (but absent on some critical updates to the OS).

The problem is, since about 2 months ago that I bought this laptop, wireless connections cut market. The Signal is Excellent and the status displays connected during all this time, it's just that I am unable to ping my router Speedstream or access routers GUI and internet. Just as suddenly, I lose my connection to the Wless router, then all of a sudden I recover too.

I have tried to change the properties of the map Intel Bg2200 and focused on the same channel that set up on my speedstream gateway. My Wireless Gateway settings are as under:
    -------------------------------
    Status: enabled
    SSID: LAB
    Channel: 11
    Security mode: WPA - PSK
Info security keys: TKIP - lab - 30
    SSID Broadcast: enabled
    Filter Mode: enabled - allow
    Data - RTS/CTS-FRAG: AUTO - 2346-2346
    --------------------------------------------

I've noticed that when my laptop stops transmitting, LED on the router Speedstream wireless also turns off and all of a sudden when the connection is re-established, the LED also goes.
All of this, my out the door speedstream Office UTP connection works fine and I can browse the internet.

I was wondering if it comes to WLAN card and while I'm covered under warrantly, I should get it replaced but I just want to be sure.

    Any Advisor!

    Hello fahim

If you search the forum wireless, you can see many similar comments. I put t know which driver WLAN is preinstalled, but please check the Intel download page, and also new Toshiba WLAN page under http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

Please be sure to have the latest version of the driver that there are listed. Many users have also reported this problem on some access points, and not on all of them. If a friend you have WIFI at home please try to verify the WLAN connectivity with some other router (other manufacturer).

    Hello

Your laptop is a Canadian series and that's why I put t know why this WLan issue appears on your laptop, but I recommend you use and installation and driver WLan Intel page.

In addition, you can check the portal of Toshiba Europe WLan WLan driver:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

In addition you must disable the option in the properties of card WLan (Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab CAD WLan) for energy savings
Also check the power management tab and turn off also the option called allow the computer to turn off the device to save energy

Finally, and especially if a newer BIOS has been released for this series then update!

  • Satellite L300 (PSLB8E) - Driver for Ethernet controller

    Hello

I just reinstalled Vista (my records of repair so so borrowed a Vista DVD of lost friends). I have installled the LAN driver (here) and can connect to the internet fine (via cable in any case, as I have no wireless).

Anyway when I go into Device Manager, that the only problem seems to be that there are no installed driver for the ethernet controller, there is no information about drivers when I look in its properties and do not really know what I have to download. If it's something to do with the wireless, I looked at article in the knowledge base on how to determine which type you have and as I said, I can't find any info.
It is not a problem as such, but I want to just correct if possible.

    Thanks fo all help.
    Jim.

    Hi, Jim!

I think he should install the WLAN driver for the laptop. I mean if you can browse the internet via an Ethernet cable, network adapter driver is installed and you are now the WLAN driver.

Then go to the Toshiba page and download the driver for your Satellite L300. The WLAN driver installation can be done in a few minutes, it's really easy.

    Check it!

  • Installing WXP on Satellite L300 (PSLB8E)

    Hello

I have a Satellite L300 (PSLB8E) laptop computer and I want to install Windows XP, but unfortunately, I still get an error message after you start the XP CD (XP Setup has encountered a problem, the Setup will leave...)

    Is there a solution?

You use the Microsoft disk to install Windows XP? Then you need the SATA drivers to install in AHCI mode or the consistent value in the BIOS but so will lose some system performance.
In the Forum are already a large number of discussions on this subject, in order to check the threads here.
And take a look at this: http://195.182.196.33/kb0/TSB8602DB0001R01.htm

However, it could also be that the CD is noisy or something else. Try another disc.

  • Satellite L300 (PSLB8E) - after update BIOS no longer start

    Hello..
Please, help me to overcome this problem.

I downloaded the latest BIOS for my Satellite L300 PSLB8E. The previous BIOS was 1.90 but I was facing some nework of error so I thought to upgrade the BIOS can help solve. I have download a new BIOS which is the exe 2.10, its installed successfully, and then shut down, but never started again. I tried to start it several times. I tried all the keys. I don't see a power led and two battery light.

I don't know what to do now. I have a recovery disk but it also does not work. I'm stuck. II had built a bunch of emails to answer that I am lost now.

    Please help me someone.

    Hi dhaval2000in,

Unfortunately, I think the case is clear: something was wrong because the BIOS update and now your laptop can start t more :(

The Toshiba Recovery disk will not help you because it doesn't contain any BIOS programs it contains only an image of recovery of Windows with all the drivers and flashing tools.

In my opinion, please contact an authorized service provider in your country to get rid of it because the guys do reflash ROM. module
I m that you can clarify this issue with the technicians and then you can use your laptop again :)

  • Satellite L300-PSLB8E - screen becomes all white and the laptop freezes

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 PSLB8E. I initially bought with Windows Vista already installed on it. After a few years, I changed the operating system Windows 7 Ultimate. I installed the display and all the other necessary drivers (that is, sound, network, etc.).

After I installed Windows 7, when I use the laptop for a while, the screen becomes all white and the laptop hangs. This happens spontaneously. Sometimes, in less than 10 minutes and other times that it can work perfectly for hours. I checked for loose batteries and other components, but everything seems fine.

Physical damage only that there is a tiny crack on the screen in the bottom right of the screen. The operating system is not good? If I put windows Vista back as it was?

Please advise and help understand me what the problem is with the laptop.

Until we start discussion can you tell me what you do when this happen?
    Hard stop and restart?
Is everything OK again when you do?

It is not easy to say what exactly is the problem, but I put t think there is problem with OS and preinstalled display driver. A long time ago I installed Win7 Home Premium on friends L300 and it works perfectly.

What you can try is to use the external monitor for a while and see if everything works well. If so, there is no problem with the operating system, drivers or graphics card. It may be that the display problem.

  • How to restore the Satellite L300 PSLB8E to factory settings?

I have problems with repeated "crash" of my system.
I get the dreaded blue page, which then restarts (usually) pretty quickly.

I think trying the option 'Restore factory settings', but I've never done this before.
If I do, which will leave it on my computer?

I have my own disks which I was invited to do the last few months (I just got this machine since May this year) will be I need it, or is there something else that is needed?

I have a Satellite L300, PSLB8E, using Vista Home Basic

    Hello

Hmm. I m wondering if you checked a few discussions here on the same theme.
    Did you?
There are more that enough son and I m sure you will not need to create this thread after reading some reviews.

Just a tip; the use of HARD drive recovery option will format the system partition, but the D partition (where the HARD drive recovery files are placed) wouldn't be formatted!

If you are still not sure after reading some discussions, please ask again ;)

  • Re: Satellite L300-PSLB8E works super slow on Windows XP

I have a Satellite L300-PSLB8E. It came with Vista Home Premium. After I did my recovery DVD, I did a SATA drivers downloaded from the Toshiba site. I did the F6 thing but kept getting always a bluescreen when the installation program got the 'starting Windows' I passed the SATA AHCI in BIOS compatibility and then managed to install XP without the SATA drive. What is strange, it's the sound LAGS and disk access is super slow. I ran a speed test program and he showed that the performance of the HARD disk are only 5% of the performance in Vista. I actually tested it on another laptop the same which was decommissioned and it had the same problem. Any advice? What is the AHCI Mode?

    > I had the SATA AHCI in BIOS compatibility and then managed to install XP without SATA drive

This is the reason why your L300 runs slowly using Win XP.
You have set the SATA in compatibility mode and now the HARD drive is not able to use the SATA performance.

Your laptop would be faster using mode SATA and SATA drivers.

  • After standby mode Satellite L300 cannot connect to the internet

    Hello

I have problems with my Satellite L300, if I put the laptop to sleep it disconnects from the internet and when I try to continue later, he said that there are no wireless networks.
The only way I can connect again is to restart my laptop. Can someone help me please?

    Thank you

    Hello!

I have a Satellite L300 too but I can t view such a question because I often use the Hibernate and the day before.

In any case, I think you should try to install the latest driver from the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

But before installing the new version, you must delete the old first and then reboot the laptop. After that, you can install the latest version.
And if it doesn't work, you must update the BIOS that you can find on the Toshiba site too.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L300 not connect to Netgear router

Hi, I wonder if someone can help me.

I recently installed a Netgear wireless home router. Although the Mac laptops and iPod in the House have all connected without any problems my Satellite L300 (PSLB8A-0VK004) is not.
Curiously however Island L300 connects to a public network wireless outside my house without any problem.

I have contacted Netgear, and they tried many things with me by phone. One of the operators of Netgear said it was a well-known problem of them and that he had a problem with Vista. They said I had to download Service Pack 2 for Microsoft (which I did) and the last 'Wireless drivers from the Web from Toshiba site'.

I went to the Toshiba Download Center, but the drop-down list, it provides does not my laptop from its selection model. Also if I manually scan through the list of available downloads, I see those who are "Netgear Wireless Drivers".

Can someone tell me where I can find these drivers?

  • Satellite L300-217 - connection to the Bravia KDL - 40EX503 LCD TV

Can someone tell me what cables I need to do the above, I am a complete novice regarding this sort of thing?

    Thank you.

    Hi jonboy899,

I have the Satellite L300 and there only VGA output port. Right?
Also, I checked the features of your Bravia TV. It has a VGA input port.

This means that you can use a VGA cable to connect your laptop to the TV. These cables you can get everywhere, and they are not expensive.

If you are connecting, turn off both devices and then connect the cable. Turn on your TV and select the input VGA port. Then turn on your laptop and using FN + F5, you can switch between monitors. :)

  • Satellite L300-1AQ connection to Toshiba Regza 37 '' LCD AV series 37AV505DB

I think buying the Satellite L300-1AQ, how will I be able to connect to my Toshiba Regza 37 '' LCD?

The LCD has no HDMI VGA port only 2, is a Toshiba laptop equipped with an HDMI port?
What is the most cost-effective way on the connection of all laptops Toshiba to my LCD TV?

    Thanks for your help...

    Hello

AFAIK the L300-1AQ supports only RGB (VGA port) port.
This port provides only the analog signal and I doubt that you will be able to connect to the HDMI port because you cannot convert an analog signal into a digital signal.

I put t know the other ports that is supported by the Toshiba Regza LCD 37 ", but I think that in this case, the HDMI port is not useful.

    Good bye
