Satellite L300D - reinstalling the touchpad?

I recently cleaned my cooling fan since I had a heat problem. When fully essambled once again, the touchpad is not working. Pilots have pi_cesont, but the system does not detect the touchpad. The touchpad cable was reinstall twise with copper pointing to the lower lid. I used the clip to hold it in place. Does anyone know how to reconnect the cable correctly? Unable to find any usefullpicture on the internet...

Thanks in advance

Hey,.

Unfortunately, it seems that you did something wrong during the disassembly of your laptop :(

I put t know if the touchpad cable is installed correctly, because I can t see your laptop, but you should check this again. Also, make sure that everything is properly connected.

In addition, I would recommend resetting the BIOS to default settings.
Press the combination of keys FN + F9 it can turn the touchpad on or off.

By the way: If you want to clean your laptop, it s is not necessary that you open. Just use jet of compressed air! ;)

  • Update BIOS on Satellite A300 disabled the touchpad in WinXP

    Hey

I just installed XP on my A300, the installation went well, until I updated the BIOS to to 1.7. After that, the touchpad is irrespeonsive, which means that it is displayed in the Device Manager, but does not.

I tried the Fn + F9 key and after a long driver Hunt, I decided to re - install Windows XP, to locate where the problem was.

I also tried resetting the BIOS by default, but once again, without a bit of luck.

The touchpad still does not work.

Is there a possibility to downgrade the BIOS?

    Hello Johan

Can you please tell me what Satellite A300 you exactly (A300-xxx)?
    What model is your laptop?
Almost all cell phones of the A300 are WXP supported and I can not imagine that the update of the BIOS can kill touchpad. It's very strange.

  • Satellite C870-155 - the Touchpad does not work

    I have a Satellite C870 - 155 (PSC8AE) and problems with the touchpad.

The buttons work, but not the pointer/trackpad.

The laptop was in need of a replacement hard drive, and I don't have any recovery media. I'm running a new installation of Windows 7 (Home Premium, 64-bit) vanilla.

I installed all the drivers, that I can find (including the touchpad).

I tried pressing F5 / Fn + F5, but this does not change anyuthing that I can see.

I am running the latest version of the BIOS I can find (6.60).

    Any suggestions?

    > Everything seems to work except the pointer.
I guess that s hardware problem and the touchpad module must be replaced.
I m straight probably because if the touchpad would be disabled or drivers that would be misunderstood, the touch area AND the touchpad buttons would not work.

In your case touch ONLY area/pad does not work, but the buttons

But just to be sure: go into the BIOS (F2)-> Advanced tab-> the system setup
Here you can check whether the pointing device (touchpad) is enabled.

    Hi rahmmar,

    > software assistant camera does not work
    Does that mean exactly?

On the Toshiba driver download page, I was able to find a driver of the webcam for Satellite L300D and Windows 7 32-bit. Have you tried this version?

  • Satellite L450D-11V - the touchpad button broken

Hi, I have a Satellite L450D-11V which is only about 3 months, but left under the touchpad button has just broken. It has lost its spring and sank down in the case, so it is now off. Still, it works but not very well and clearly needs repair.

My question is is it useful to open the case to see if something has slipped? The manual does not cover this, but it seems that it can be opened by removing the screws from the case under. My only concern is that I don't want to move something then not be able to re - assemble! A House would be obviously preferable to ship from Toshiba and be without it for a week.

Has anyone else had a problem with the touchpad buttons break after a short period of time?

This is typical warranty issue and even thinking laptop open on your own.
At first you do not have manuals maintenance with an exact description of how to do this and this action may void the warranty.

Contact service, explain the situation and ask how long they need for repair.

  • Satellite 1905 - problem with the touchpad after awakening from Hibernation/standby

    Greetings.

    I've known a few interesting problems with my Satellite 1905 - S301.
Whenever he wakes up from hibernation/standby my touchpad stopped accepting "taps" as a click on the left button of the mouse. It works normally with finger motion detection, but stops at all but it is quite annoying to restart the machine whenever he returns from hibernation mode.

I've done a small workaround and after I close the laptop lid still works but this isn't the way it should work, I would have preferred that she either Hibernate than running for 10 hours without any sense;).

Can someone give me the solution to this problem, please?
    Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards
    Akar

    Hello

I agree with you. It s very boring to restart the machine each time to use the touchpad.
This problem appears on the first day?

I think there might be a software problem and, possibly, the new installation of operating system recovery CD Toshiba could help.
I know, the complete installation is not the best solution, but it might help.

You should also check you the touchpad. Satellite 1905 - S301 was designed for the U.S. market and so I checked the American website for available drivers.
It seems that 5.3.203.2 is a newer version of the Alps touchpad driver for Windows XP.

I suggest to reinstall the touchpad driver and check if there is no improvement.

  • Satellite L300D - error code 19 Device Manager on the CD/DVD drive

I have a model of Satellite L300D PSLC0E and you just install Windows 7 upgrade from Vista, everything goes well outside the HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T50N ATA DEVICE and ATI. With the HL - DT - ST DVDRAM GSA - T50N ATA DEVICE this a driver problem, it is said it seems to do with NTI Backup 4, tried to update for NTI Backup now 4.5 but still no luck.

With ATI I run updates and reinstalled the program, system check, it shows that it is installed and everything works, but I don't seem to be able to change the display settings most important is 1200 x 800, I seem to think that with ATI there should be more, but not sure because when I start to run a set of changes in the size of the screen to 1024 x 768 , and I can't change anything. Any body any ideas?

    Hello

    (1) also tried to remove the capital letters and lowerfilters in the registry? In the forum, I noticed that this does not resolve this error code. On the Microsoft Knowledge Base, you can find a solution for this:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314060

    (2) I also have Satellite L300D and the maximum screen resolution is 1200 x 800. So you can set a higher screen resolution on internal monitor, this is possible on the external monitor.
And normally, you can change the resolution of the screen in every game. Check this box!

  • Satellite A350 - cannot disable Touchpad

    Hello

I bought my new computer A350 laptop 3-4 weeks ago and I'm loving the sound QUALITY!

In any case, I want to disable the mouse pad, but I can't. I have the guid of the user on my laptop, that says: Touchpad: by pressing FN + F9 toggles the function of touch pad. Unfortunately it does not work! When I press it nothing happens, I don't see a change in the touchpad icon, which apparently, so well done must have a big red X or something like that, but again, this does not happen.

I also looked at the properties of the mouse of my mouse, and when I select the Advanced tab, then move the settings of the feature..., under the touch pad settings, there is no option to disable that is extremely strange. There is another button of parameters for what can I press on, but there is no option to turn it off.

What should I do to disbale the touchpad, because at the time of writing these, pressing FN + F9 does not work?

    > Hi, thanks for the response. I am running Windows vista Service Pack 1 Home Premium that was already installed when I bought it. I don't know if I'm running the factory settings, nor have I ever heard of this?

If you use the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba, then you use Notepad with the settings ;)

In your case I would recommend reinstalling the touchpad driver; Synaptics and Alps Electric.
In addition, there is a utility called tool Support Flash Cards.
This module is an essential component of Windows systems and it is necessary to other original programs for TOSHIBA to work properly.

The relocation of the VAP (value added package) is also recommended.

  • HP 15 laptop: problem with the touchpad and the key "stuck."

    Hello!

Last weekend, I have an irritating problem with my HP 15 laptop. Bought two years ago and upgrades to Windows 10 a year ago.

First of all, my touchpad started to not work properly. It "freezes" and I can't use it until I click the ESC key, but it doesn't last and "freezes" again a few seconds later. Then, everytime I open a window where there is a text box (Start menu, edge browser, Control Panel, etc.), the number 5 is entered automatically and permanently, as if the button 5 has been blocked. I did a quick check and button 5 do not seem physically stuck.

Yesterday, I restored the system to the factory settings, so I'm back to 8.1 for Windows and then upgraded to Windows 10. Everything seems to work fine, but this morning, the problem was back. Is there something I can do? What is the problem caused by Windows 10 or the computer? Should I restore it to Windows 8.1? Everything worked great til last weekend, I don't know what that was.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Welcome to the HP support community @gouch3.

I understand that you have a problem with the keyboard and the touchpad on your laptop from HP 15.

Have you tried to use a keyboard external and mouse at all?

Have you tried to go to Safe Mode to see if the problems persist in there?

Have you tried to perform a material or forced reset Reset?

Did you do a test of material?

    Have you updated your drivers?

It could be a driver problem to be able to look at that for you, I need your model number. I wish I could give you an answer or not, but at this point without the troubleshooting results and the model number, it is difficult for me to say.

I can say that if everything works in point 8.1 of Windows without problem, the driver TROUBLESHOOTING is a great place to start. Please try to follow these steps for the keyboard and the touchpad of troubleshooting:

    • Beginning
    • Search for Device Manager
    • Search results, open Device Manager.
    • Click on display
    • Show hidden devices.
    • Click the arrow next to keyboards.
    • Right click on the name of the keyboard device.
    • Select uninstall.
    • Continue deleting the names of devices in the category keyboards until the feature of all the names have been uninstalled.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

    Touchpad:

    • Type of research, "Device Manager."
    • Click on Device Manager,
    • Expand mice and other pointing devices.
    • Right click on the TouchPad,
    • Click on uninstall.
    • Restart the computer laptop twice,
    • Reinstall the TouchPad card.

I found a document of troubleshooting for you to try also called Portable keyboard troubleshooting. Please be sure to follow the steps described in this document.

The best document I have for TouchPad problems is the use and troubleshooting of the TouchPad and ClickPad document.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers that need to put up-to-date.

This is a great question other clients may also be questioned. When we came to a resolution, please share what has worked for you with others by marking this post as an acceptable Solution. If you want to show appreciation for my efforts today, please take a second to click the Thumbs Up button below.

If you need assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please re-post with the results of the resolution of the problems. Could you please also provide your model number (How can I find my model number or product number?)

    Thank you!
