Satellite L50-A-19N: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (igdkmd64.sys)

Greetings, on portable Satellite L50-A-19N (GT 740 M + i HD 4600), I get this BSOD more often than occasional crash (~ ~ once a day).
Driver name, I guess it's GPU problem (or GPU driver software).

After installing the latest graphics graphic drivers dedicated, and integrated Intel HD Graphics 15.36.21.64.4222, Geforce 353.06 WHQL, this problem persists for about a year, however in the last few weeks in high intensity.

Mobile home is connected only to external LCD for output (via original HDMI 1. 4A, audio HDMI cable activated, resolution 2560x1440@60Hz). Also, using the official monitor of the manufacturer driver (it's just INF file).

I don't know if it's a software driver or card/GPU mother/HW failure problem. Eventually can be caused by bad HDMI Cable or display panel (?).

I have clues to find the source of the problem and take the next steps to remove the problem, thanks in advance for any relevant info.

Hello, I think I have the same problem.
In my case, the problem goes away when I run out of battery. Try also chain the parameter of dynamic frequency Cpu bios of low dynamic forever.

  • Clasps to satellite L50-A-19N - hard drive

    Hello

I own Satellite L50-A-19N, seen the question I sometimes hear a clap louder or the series of several shots of the laptop.

Probably, it comes out hard drive.
If I find SMART for internal HD() is no problematic interest, record Cdystaldiskinfo status is evaluated as being healthy.

However the occasional claps don't look too normal for me, never heard these and with such a volume of my previous computers.

Is this potential precursors disc collapse?
The laptop is not too old, about eight months only.

I guess that this noise is coming from the HARD drive.

I had a HARD drive (as far as I can remember it was at Hitachi) in the past who created similar clicking sound.
But the HARD drive worked properly.

However, I created a backup of my important files in case the HARD drive would be crashed.

  • Satellite L50-A-19N - sound doesn't work sometimes

    Hello

I am currently the owner of a Toshiba Satellite L50-A-19N and the sound does not work sometimes.

When I play an audio file or a video or same file while playing a video from YouTube, works well for a while and then suddenly it stops.
When that happens, his is always recognized the system because you can see in the volume control, but no sound from my speakers.
The same thing also happens when I connect my external audio interface (M - Audio Fast Track USB).

    I use Windows 8.1
Please help me, because I use my Toshiba mainly for music production and play.

    > When that happens, his is always recognized the system because you can see in the volume control, but no sound from my speakers.

Have you tried to connect a headset while this problem occurs?
    Please check.

In addition, you must uninstall the audio driver installed.
Then you must reboot the laptop and after installing the audio driver (you can get it from the page of the Toshiba driver) once again.

Finally and above all, you said that you are using an external audio interface.
I m not quite sure all these software but it might be possible that these additional 3rd party software could affect the internal sound card / driver. This should be checked as well.

If possible I recommend you test the laptop without these 3 tools/software audio

  • Satellite L50-A-19N - HARD disk controller is not compatible SATA 3

    Hello.

    I have a model of L50-a-19n satellite.
The hard drive it is HGST Travelstar 5 K 1000 750 GB, SATA 6 Gbps (HTS541075A9E680/0J22412).

On Web site of the manufacturer and as Aida64 diagnostic software the hard drive is named SATA-III 600 MB/s.

But when I run the Crystaldiskinfo software or simillar, it is said that the taken and current transfer mode supported SATA/300.
    Why is it like that?

Is this some sort of software limmitation?
In the Bios, I turned on the performance mode.

HARD drive supports SATA 6 Gbit/s, but the portable controller is probably limited to SATA II (3 Gb/s)

If the HARD disk controller does not support SATA III, HARD drive performance will be limited.

  • Satellite L50-A-19N - need to update driver nVIDIA - some games do not work

    Hello

I have the problem with drivers nVIDIA for my 740 M,
The thing is that I can not update drivers because any drivers I have install my core 580 MHz GPU clock drops everything at stake. But when I return to the first drivers that I had on my base GPU clock portable (326.60) is 1058 MHz all-in game.

The problem is that I can't run some games because I need to update the drivers.
Just some games do not work on 326.60.

I tried to contact customer support, but the page is not available. -.-'

    Hello

First of all, please note that use of the 3rd third-party drivers is at your own risk.

You must use the drivers supplied by Toshiba driver page because these drivers are changed and designed for mobile use.

This driver supports the overheating protection, which means that in the cases that the temperature of the GPU would rise to higher level, the driver would clock down the GPU to maintain the temperature at the lower level.

Of course, as I said above, you might try to test the drivers from nVidia page but it is at your own risk.

  • Keyboard, audio and low performance with Satellite L50-A-19N index output

    Hello

I recently bought this laptop and I am very disappointed on the keyboard.

Construction seems pretty harsh, but typing typing particularly fast, I'm leaving A LOT of (double letters) or letters lack mistypes.

It seems to me that imperfect contact of the bladder base key.
I wanted to know if this is normal with this model or is to be retrieved.

Second disappointment is on the quality of the sound, using IDT pilot the most recent laptop (6.10.6491.0) Web but barebone sounds incredibly ugly.

I need to activate the audio component DTS which is turned OFF by default, only after the beep for the external speakers seem its listenable, but still not as good and audio of my previous laptop with Realtek HD Audio (about same class).

Can anyone recommend a better sound improvement or how to reach generally of better sound quality?

My third disappointment is on the performance of the processor, although he should have the processor i7 (4700MQ), the computer index in Passmark PeformanceTest reached only about 6600-6700 points, while different configurations with the same processor unit reach up to 7900-8000 points.

I would like to know if that could be a defective unit of CPU in my laptop or is rather caused by other circumstances as more slowly other components.

    Hello

Until we start to talk about all of your problems, you should post some information like: laptop model and perhaps that the system you are using

  • Question upgrade L50-A-19N disk HARD satellite

    Hello

I want to upgrade the standard HDD HGST to a faster SSHD Seagate, and the problem is that in this model L50-A-19N without HARD drive cover, at the bottom of the laptop everything must be removed as in this link: [video | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG0lW7t92bI]

My question is can I put the disc by myself, and if not what can I do to replace the disc without losing the warranty. I have read the manual for this model and there is nothing of HDD upgrades here.

    Kind regards.

    > My question is can I put the disc by myself, and if not what can I do to replace the disc without losing the warranty.

No, I don't think that the HARD drive is the user extensible because _in this boite_ the laptop computer full cover must be removed to replace the HARD drive.

It looks like the ROM modules can be updated by the user of the laptop. Other parts must be replaced by an approved engineer to keep the warranty valid.

  • My Satellite L50 - A - 1 7 no longer works

Just some time ago, I was playing a game with friends, but all of a sudden my screen freezes and the sound. Pressing the powerbutton or now in did nothing. Only, I opened my Toshiba Satellite L50 - A - 1 7 and disconnected the battery because it has not turned off.

    It does not start anymore!
    Can someone help me soon?

    Thanks for the comments.
It would be interesting to know if the problem will happen again if you use RAM in the first place again.

Anyway, the key is that everything is working OK again.

  • New Satellite L50-A-1This starts with black screen

    Hello

I turned on my brand-new Satellite L50-A-1This for the first yesterday set it up which worked like a charm. Today, as I tried to turn it on for the second time, the screen wouldn't come. Although you can hear the snoring treatment unit and also to see the cursor, the screen remains black.

Any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you, c

When you start your laptop you see Toshiba welcome screen or it's dark all the time?

It's really not easy to say what the problem is here. Try please to start and press function F4 or FN + F4 key to ensure that it is not defined for output to an external monitor.

  • Satellite L50-C-215: failure to install Win7 via the USB port, pb and toshiba.bg bug ' workshop

Satellite L50-c-215 is a laptop sold without optical drive or OS.

    We bought it today.

    Questions:

-We were told "it is compatible with windows 7", but what a salesman said, everything can be downloaded from the Web from Toshiba site
-While watching the Web from Toshiba site, a link says 'no system operating inside'. Link is corrupt
-2 "official" companies are listed for the Bulgarian Web from Toshiba site are wrong: nobody told on the phone that they are not official support from Toshiba

    Technical questions:

-J' tried to put several Windows 7 ISO on a USB key, using the official Microsoft tool and Rufus, but I got error that says "CD/DVD Driver is missing."
-In some forums, it is said that test the spirit of the thing that a USB 2.0 can solve if USB 3.0 will fail. Each USB failed.

    Sales question:

-Although the European commercial law says people have a little more time to restore a non-working product and be reimbursed, when we returned to the computer at the Technopolis shop a few hours after the purchase, employees told us ' problem is not hardware: we do not cancel the sale, we can take over the computer and give your money. " "Problem is software: see with Toshiba.
The best we could get was the address of a computer service non-Toshiba to try to ask if they might be able to install Windows 7

I already spent half a day working on it
What can we do to install Windows 7 or get the computer returned and refunded?

    Tried Tnings at night:

-> Intall Ubuntu 12.04: card WiFi can't work, no Ethernet cable to update from the Internet

The drivers are on the website of Intel, but solution install require packages to download on the internet, not USB

-> Last Debian version: error starting in the command line

-> 14.04 installed, Ubuntu box checked during installation to use the Intel Wifi device
Re: software WiFi cannot connect. Spent a few hours on forums to try to understand how to install the Intel USB drivers. Does not work.

For people who want to buy this model, try to get a player of optical disk to install Windows, a good cable to Linux, update or be prepared to spend time and money for the service simply be able to use the computer.

Oh, another thing: Technopolis company is not able to provide you with enough information before buying a product. I will not say that they rip off, but almost: especially to overseas buyers, buy refusal refund to anyone who is not able to have an argument that was screaming in Bulgarian with them.

Problem, it's that Toshiba does not support Linux so you will not be able to find lots of information about Linux on Toshiba laptops.

Try to check some Linux forum. You may be able to get a useful tip to other Linux users.

  • Satellite L50-B-166: Webcam + microphone does not work under Linux

    Hello

    I'm under Linux Slackware 14.1 with kernel 4.11 on a Satellite L50-B-166.

Webcam and microphone are not detected by the system, and I can't find the firmware and the module for them.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

I get the Webcam work properly in Fedora 22 core 4.0.6 (Incidentally, kernel 4.11 does not yet exist, so what kernel do you use )
I suggest therefore that you check the software for the Webcam settings is not simply disabled:

    F2 at the STATION
Go to advanced > system configuration
Make sure the Webcam is turned on.

  • Satellite L50-B-192 with Linux, no compatibility issues?

    Hello world

I would buy a new PC, almostly Toshiba Satellite L50-B-192.
In fact, I heard that a lot of people found that it is difficult to install linux, and many could she!, any body have had such an experience?
Would you recommend buy me this model. I'll use for some applications, graphics, programming and development.
Any advice will be highly appreciated.

    Hello

I think that you will have a good experience in running a late version of Linux on this model. Just trying to get a 4 core...
The biggest problem I've seen with L50 - B, it's that the maps non - Intel WLAN don't work under Linux yet.
But your model appear to have an Intel WIFI card, so you should be fine.
If you download and install the kernel 4.1 I think even shortcut keys can behave very well.
