Satellite L505-13F - impossible to activate the wireless connection

Hello, I have connectivity problems with my Satellite L505-13F.

I can't turn on the wireless connection. I press Fn + F8 and nothing happens. The indicator at the bottom of the laptom turns on.

I though this would be a problem with the drivers. I downloaded realtek wlan driver here [http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads], but it has not installed correctly. Then I used the toshiba software installer, but yet again, nothing has changed. I have Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.

Device management, I have seen that I installed a wifi driver. (Realtek RTL8191SE Wirelless Lan...) So, what the problem is?

Any suggestions?

Hey,.

Something happens if you press other keys FN or FN + F8 doesn't work only? Normally with this key combination you can enable/disable wireless network card.

In addition, it would be interesting to know what happens if you are looking for WLAN networks. You see your WLAN router?

If all the keys FN n t work, reinstall the package of added value and utility to Support Flash Cards. Otherwise, it could be another problem and you should reinstall the driver again and make sure the firewall isn't blocking the connection.

See you soon

    Hello

Hmm, in some cases the BIOS contains an HDMI output option.
In your case, I recommend to check this.
I have not very well if this available but it s m of a value in a control.

But usually the Fn + F5 should work as described in the user manual... did you check that?

  • Satellite Pro U200 - how to activate the bluetooth connection

How to activate the bluetooth connection?

    Hello

First check to see if your computer supports BT
If the laptop supports BT, then you should find a BT tag at the bottom of the unit.
If there is no label then your machine was not equipped with internal BT module!

If the laptop supports BT, then use the FN + F8 key to go to the BT
Then BT should start installation and configuration.

    Hello

This device is a good old classic. As far as I know that it s about 10 years.
It was delivered with the Win95 and Win98.
Well, I can't give you a solution to your problem because this unit is too old.
You'll be a man of luck even if someone here in the forum knows an answer to your problem. All I can suggest is to check the BIOS. Maybe that here you can activate or change it in addition the battery settings.

    Good luck

  • Satellite Pro P300 - impossible to activate the built-in microphone

I bought a Satellite Pro P300 some 2 months and so far so good.

It has a webcam which I really thought that I would have any use for it but now find that I have.

The camera works fine but I cannot activate the built-in microphone.

Can someone point me in the right direction please

    Hello

You will need to start the webcam software if you want to use the internal microphone too.
The point is that the internal MIC is connected with the internal webcam and webcam software handles both devices.
Also check if the internal mic has been correctly enabled in the webcamsoftware

In addition, I would recommend updating the audio driver.

    Best regards

  • Re: Satellite L100-179. impossible to activate the new WLan card inserted

    Hi all

I bought a computer laptop satellite L100-179 wireless about 2.5 years ago.
Last week I bought an Inter (R) PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection, this is an internal card!

I installed the card and the latest drivers and the card worked properly under Device Manager
When I tried to use the card after setting the wireless settings, I started to have problems.

I then installed the software for the card help with the problem which has been the software Intel(r) PROSet/Wireless WiFi 12.1.2.0 that gave me a little more information about the problem. All the settings for the wifi are enabled except when I press Fn + F8 I get the following message:

Wireless communication is disabled. Please turn on the wireless switch.

But there is no switch on the side of the laptop just a plug of cache.
I've ran out of ideas to get this working and would be really grateful for the help.
My OS is XP home SP3.

    Hello

I think that your Sat L100-179 is not extensible WLan.
If this laptop has been delivered without the WLan card and the WLan switch does not exist, then you cannot use an internal WLan card!

In this case, go to an external solution such as a USB WiFi key for example

    Welcome them

  • OfficeJet Pro 8710: Impossible to establish the wireless connection between my laptop and OfficeJet Pro 8710

I'm tryng to connect wirelessly between my laptop and printer but I am unable to do so.

My laptop finds the printer and when I go to add the device I invite me to "Enter the WPS PIN code for your printer". So, I printed out the Configuration Page of the network and it gives me the "wi - fi direct password", which I suppose is the password that is required to establish that it connection (I may be wrong in my explanation). However, when I type the password on my laptop it does not establish the connection. I said "try to add the printer again, or check with the manufacturer for addiitonal installation instructions.

Any insght and assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You should searh for your wifi network at home and connect your printer and the laptop to the network. Direct WiFi option is really only for configurations that do not have a modem/router.

You may need to disable the option Wireless directly on your printer to help the wireless configuration.

  • Satellite P750-13F - how to activate the keyboard backlit on Windows 8

    Hello!

Today, I installed Windows 8 premium on my P750-13F, which features a backlit keyboard. In order to upgrade to Windows 8 I had to uninstall certain Toshiba drivers and other programs.

Now, I have fully functional Windows 8, but I don't know how to access the functions of FN key (screen brightness, wifi power button, volume up/down).

Now that the FN key is innoperative function that I miss the most is that for illumination of the keyboard, because I can still do everything else by other methods (I mean volume up/down, brightness etc) but I don't know how to illuminate the keyboard now.

I tried to install the Toshiba hardware configuration utility, but it will not install with Windows 8. I like so much if the FN key remains innoperative (although that would be nice if it would not) but what I really want to be able to change the lighting of the keypad.

I'll be very grateful for any ideas.

Up to Toshiba doesn t offer Win8 tools and utility there is nothing you can do about it. I hope that will happen very soon.
So please be patient until the stuff of Win8 will be offered for download.

  • Impossible to activate the secure connection

I have a fresh install of Vista Business (32) preloaded on my new laptop Acer TM 5530.

I read help for 'Enable or disable a secure connection (CTRL + ALT + DELETE)', which says:

    1. Click to open advanced user accounts. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2. Click the Advanced tab, select users must press Ctrl + Alt + Delete check box, and then click OK.

I'm in the built-in administrator ID.

I followed the instructions, but "Ask users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete" is gray on the Ant, the checkbox is not accessible.

    What should I do?

    Hello SHCA,.

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forum.  This happens usually when your account does not have a password.  To create a password to do the following:

    1.

Open accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking user accounts and family safety, and then clicking user accounts.

    2.

Click create a password for your account.

Note If your user account already has a password, you can change your password by clicking change your password.

    3.

Type the password in the new password box, and then retype the password in the new password confirmation box.

    4.

If you do not use a password hint, type the suspicion in the box of the indication of password .

    5.

    Click create password.

It is important to keep your computer as secure as possible. One way to do is to allow a secure connection so that you are required to press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to log on. Using a secure connection provides an extra layer of security for your computer by ensuring that the authentic Windows logon screen appears. When a secure connection is enabled, no other programs (for example, a virus or a spyware) can intercept your user name and password when you enter it.

    1.

Click the Start button, type netplwiz in the search box and press ENTER.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2.

Click the Advanced tab, check the box users need to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete , and then click OK.
