Satellite L505 Windows 7 startup error screen

I had a problem on my Satellite L505 a few weeks ago and it keeps occurring during each startup.
Windows starts as usual, but instead of loading blue screen, where you can choose username and password to type I get only a black screen with nothing on it.

I can't see anything, except for the mouse pointer, which works btw.
When I press ENTER and type my password to Windows load my desktop and everything works well.
This problem occurs when you start upward only, once I am connected and I want to switch users there is no this problem.

I get a blue screen with stupid windows 7 graphics and images of all accounts, so there is no problem choose a user.
Have you seen such a problem? Or is there someone who knows how to fix this?

Thank you for your response.

> When I hit ENTER and type my password Windows load my desktop and everything works fine.
What password do you mean? Maybe you have defined a passoword BIOS?
The laptop would not boot until the BIOS password has been set and then the operating system should start.

    Hello

There is no updated BIOS for this Satellite L505 series.
The European driver Toshiba page provides the latest version of the BIOS, which is 2, 10-win
If you've already got the latest BIOS in use.

I put t think its BIOS issue or something bad happened to your system or motherboard started to malfunction.

Recommend trying to install the system using the recovery disk.
If this is not enough, recommended to contact a service agent.

By the way: have you tried to set the default BIOS? Do this power to the top of the unit, press F2 to access the BIOS. Then press F9 to get the default settings and save the changes by pressing F10.

  • Satellite A660 - Windows 7 startup problem

Hi, I have I think the biggest problem I have ever had. I have the Toshiba Satellite A660. I have Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit (just to know.) Computer laptop freezed so I pressed to shutdown (stop) to close.

Then I tried to start it but I saw only "starting Windows" for more than an hour... When I tried to use the repair disk I saw the Green loading bar only (such as loading windows XP) but nothing happened again. So I tried to use the installation disc, but I get a "windows start" and nothing happened, even with a USB tip.

    Could someone help me?
    Thanks for all the posts.

I understand that your computer was working and running W7 64 bit.
You can or you looked in the BIOS? I don't know what you can view/change but is the HDD displayed and if memory is reported?
If you use the drive of W7 or reinstall to start the computer drive can you get to the screen install Windows and select "repair your computer". If you do not see this screen, you will need to make sure that the DVD or USB is the first boot device.

Return to this stage for more ideas or google for something like "windows command prompt repair 7.

  • Windows XP Startup error Stop 0 x 00000024 (0 x 00190203, 0x85c6dec8, 0xc0000102, 0x00000000)

My Windows XP does not start all of a sudden. I have a HP Pavillion desktop computer.

I even tried to use the recovery CD, but it does not able to get to the recovery screen. When I try to access the screen of recovery with F10, it fails. Using the recovery CD, I can get to the recovery screen, but after pressing R, it tries to start the recovery console, and then fails. Many online posters suggested to running CHKDSK, but I can't go to a command prompt to do so. I also ran diagnostics using PC Doctor from the bootable CD, I had created, he showed no material error. Pls help. I do not have a backup of my data, but if I can get without formatting the hard drive, I would prefer that.

I don't know of these HP recovery CD, I don't know if they understand a Windows Recovery Console.  You can download a file on the net Recovery Console .iso and burn it to a CD, then see if you can start the console successfully.  You can get a file .iso RC here: http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm

If you can start the recovery console, run a chkdsk /r on the drive and see if things improve.

You can also use a USB box or mount the drive in a different computer of Windows XP/Vista/7 and run chkdsk from there.

The error can also be caused by a corrupted NTFS file system driver or missing, you can replace the file ntfs.sys file in the folder \WINDOWS\system32\drivers with one of the WINDOWS\system32\dllcache or the WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 folder (or copy it from another computer in Windows XP).

From my experience this error 0 x 24 we generally very bad news, often times it means that the file system is damaged beyond repair by the Windows tools.  Linux can often easily overcome the error and recover the files, if you can't fix it with the usual windows method try to boot the computer with a Linux live CD and see if you can access the drive... but this is useful for recovering files, it won't help to repair the drive to a State where it can be started by Windows.  You already said that you have a backup of your files, it is so only added as additional information for others who might have this error 0 x 24 read here.

Well I think that if you are not able to go into the advanced boot menu (F8) and so if you can start t HARD drive recovery works you have the Toshiba recovery disc.

As I see you don t have it and if you order a disk Toshiba directly:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

I know it's strange, but I think that in this case, you can t anything.

  • Satellite L505 - wireless connection is slow

    Curlie028,
I'm having the same problem with a brand new Toshiba Satellite L505 - Windows 7 64-bit with the Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless NIC.

    I've tried EVERYTHING.

[http://www.dslreports.com/speedtests/] starts at approximately 1480 Kbps speed of download and then quickly falls less than 300 Kbps. Cable LAN gives download speed 1480 Kbps all the time on my DSL connection. But when I use the Realtek wireless NETWORK card, the speed starts up quickly, while it tapers rapidly to < 300 Kbps.

My daughter has a Satellite A500 (not L500) with another wireless adapter. Sitting side by side anywhere in the House, his laptop, when accessing the same wireless router, always enjoys almost 1500 kbits/s such as measured by www.dslreports.com/speedtests/ - but not with my laptop!

I've done everything that I can to investigate this on my own - as you - driver updated, update the BIOS, turning off all the stuff of Norton Internet Security Suite, different browsers, you name it.

I even tried the settings "netsh int tcp set global", running the speedtest repeatededly that I made changes following the steps on this site: [http://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=2574]

The only thing left to do is call the Toshiba Support and start their districts relentlessly until something gives... I don't want to return the laptop. I want them TROUBLE THE PROBLEM!

    Mike

    Hey Buddy,

You wrote that you tried as the driver update, etc.
But it would be interesting to know which driver you have installed. Please install the latest official page of Toshiba with Realtek WLAN driver directly. All the drivers from the Toshiba page are pre-tested for your laptop.
    Check this box!

In addition, it would be interesting to know if you are running your own Windows installation or factory settings.

The Norton Internet Security software isn t so fast. I recommend to uninstall and choosing another AntiVirus such as AntiVir. The firewall, you can use the windows one.
