Satellite L650 - strange behavior of cooling fan

Hi all!

I have a laptop:

Satellite L650-1EQ
Referencia (P/N): PSK1JE-071003EP

Suddenly, when I turn on my laptop suspended _the status of the fan is not starts_ to work and in a few minutes (when I work with a few programs the laptop), the laptop overheated and shutdown.

However, when I start the laptop of the shutdown _a fan State starts and he continues to work ever. _... If I don't do anything in the laptop continues to...

I think something is wrong because the week there, it starts and stops for the heat from the laptop...

Thank you so much for your attetion
Kind regards.
NM

Hello

It didn't happen since the first day is good?
Is it possible that you have installed some kind of software that might affect the system and cooling properties?

I m not very well what's going wrong here but I guess that its software related issue
Don t think its BIOS problem because if BIOS would cause this, then the issue should appear from the first day of purchase

You could try to put the system in the previous state, but in the worst cases, you will need to run a system recovery in order to redefine the laptop to factory settings.

  • On HP 2560p strange behavior laptop cooling fan

Hi all, Win 7 Pro. When I turn the power of the fan goes into lo speed and stays there. When I turned off the fan turns on hi speed and stays there. In both cases, the battery is in and connect the device. Removing the battery makes no difference. Insert and remove the battery causes the fan to finally go off. I talked to HP support, that said, updating the bios. I did and it changed nothing; problem remains as before. Not under warranty. Laptop is 1.5 years, and the problem began about 5 days ago. Until then, the fan was working normally.

Now, I have to unplug and remove the battery every night to turn off the fan. Not good.

Any ideas how to solve this problem? I did some research on google and have not found and the relevant solutions. Thank you!

    Tom

So, if I understand the fan runs at high speed when the power is off, but the laptop is plugged into the wall and the battery installed? You must remove the battery and plug for the fan to stop? Not good. Sounds like a motherboard problem.

  • Satellite A100 - replacement of the cooling fan

    Hi guys,.

I have a Satellite A100 model computer and fan cooling for the right heat sink dropped on me a few days ago.

I rang Toshiba, who told me that it cost E120 more parts to install a new fan. I see CPU fans online for as little as E5 and have a good idea on how to open my computer to install but I am not sure what exact fan kind I need to buy if anyone can help I would be grateful.

Need more info just ask and I'll post a response.

    Hello!

Not all fans to adapt in each book.
So I think that the fan for Satellite A100 is not so cheap and don t forget it is not easy to disassemble a laptop. That's why it takes a lot of time and you need to remove a large number of screws.

Of course you can do it by yourself, but you will need the original Satellite A100 cooling fan. Maybe you can find one on eBay or elsewhere.
    Good luck!

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro 6100: error message - cooling fan does not work

    Hello
I have a SP6100 and it keeps giving me an error message about the cooling fan does not. Then he tells me to stop immediately and runs very slowly. The fan come on, but after three or four short bursts it stops and the message appears.
Is it a mechanical problem with the fan? I took out the radiator and the fan, and it was clean and not sticky.
What is a system problem? The BIOS has recently been updated.
Should I just invest in a new cooling unit and if so where would I get one?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you.

    Hello

I recommend to contact the ASP (certified partner) because it can test your device and can do a diagnostic test.

    > The use of Ubuntu, because with XP there start but if the processor is cold it is stop! and restart and etc...
If I understand correctly using the Win XP the fan does not always with some breaks. Is this good?

This isn't a problem but a friend feature.
As you know the GPU creates a lot of heat.

This is why it is important that the fan is way on and to cool the GPU or CPU if the temperature reached and some point.
I put t know what temperature must be reached, but it cannot be too high due to overheating problems.

Second graphics driver Toshiba control the performance of GPU and the dissipation of the heat too. If the temperature rises to a critical level (applications executing heavy performance) the diver decreases performance to ensure that the heat dissipation would come down.

But this happens only if the cooling module will not be able to cool the internal temperature.

  • Satellite of strange behavior of C670-19F - 10 Windows - keyboard

Now that I've upgraded to Windows 10. Everything seems to work ok except the strange behaviour of my keyboard.

    (1) the keys 1, 2 do not work
    (2) the keys 3, 4 volume control
    (3) key space works do not at all
    (4) function keys behave normally (F1, F2, etc.)

When the Fn key is pressed:

    (1) the 1,2,3,4 keys work like nymbers
    (2) space bar works like the space
    (3) function keys do nothing

I tried to uninstall everything associated with toshiba but also by pressing Fn for 10 seconds, Ctrl + Fn, Fn-stop scroll and any other combination I could think of.

In the BIOS there is no option to disable the function keys.
In the HWSETUP, there is no option as well

I'd appreciate any suggestions really. Thanks for your time.

  • An A60 notebook cooling fan

I noticed that when I first boot up the laptop, cooling fan seems to be hunting. Time for the fan to operate at full speed varies, is this normal?

I have the same situation on my Satellite, but shortly after the cooling fan is again in silence. After that, he started working from time to time.

  • Satellite L650-1GF - cooling fan runs every 3 minutes

Last week, I bought a Satellite L650-1GF. Everything is fine except the noise from the cooling fan. Especially because it works almost every minute to cool the carrots. There is an annoying sound hum which takes about 10 seconds and is repeated every 3 minutes approximately.

I checked with "Speedfan". The temperature of the hearts is fluctuating between 32 and 37 C. And at about 37 ° C, the fan speed to cool the computer.

    Two questions:
1 is this normal that the cooling fan starts cooling to 37 ° c.
    2. is the annoying noise of the fan normal for this model of Toshiba?

And what is acceptable, can I find examples to compare with what I feel here somewhere? I saw a lot of cell phones so far, but none of the cooling fans made a buzzing sound like this.

    Kind regards

    Hello

Have you ever tried to change the method of maximum Performance to optimised battery cooling?

You can do this in Windows power management, but make sure you do this for the current profile of the power.
