Satellite of C850-1HE Windows 8 recovery tips
I bought a C850 for son #1 who has installed a game (doubtful).
It seems that it has done something for the display driver to win 8; so on startup the screen becomes white. Pressing enter or other random keys produced a form of time-artifacts in time on the screen
I guess I'm looking for more help on recovery
I tried pressing f2 during power on, but can't seem to get into setting up so I can insert a disc windows 8 & restore to a system restore point - please can someone advise?
I recommend checking this recovery of Windows 8 and documentation of repair.

There are different ways to repair or recover the system Windows 8.
In my opinion for the moment 1rs you should try the "automatic repair" option which helps you to scans your files and settings, and if it detects a problem with any of them, it takes corrective action. No additional input is required.
I have a satellite B717 C850... I bought with windows 8 preinstalled top...
I have upgraded to Windows 10 and everything was fine until 3 weeks when I started having problems with so many sudden blue screens with different errors. I have tried so many solutions including restore windows to an earlier restore point, but nothing helps... until 2 days ago when I decided to clean the hard drives, but unfortunately I lost everything... I used my other laptop with windows 10 to download a version of win 10 on a USB key and installed on the laptop to format...
Now I have an inactive Windows 10. When Microsoft asked for a solution they told me to contact TOSHIBA to obtain the key of windows 8 that has been installed on the laptop... help please...

Toshiba does not provide the serial key to activate the systems.
Your laptop has been pre-installed with Windows 8, where the serial key has already been included.
I assume that you create the recovery media that would allow you to recover the laptop back to factory settings?
Well, in this case you can order recovery disc or USB of Arvato Services key and this would allow you to recover the OS of Windows 8, which is activated.
After that, you might go once again to Win 10.
I have a Satellite A100-068 where Windows broke down. When I turn it on it says configuration update 3 of 3. After awhile it will restart and returns with the same message. It is not possible to boot into safe mode. (Same problem). I searched the net for a concludes but only found that I have to reinstall windows (Vista Home premeum). My problem is that I Don t equipped of a Medea. The PC came with windows pre-installed, and there was no partition of medea or recovery disk recovery.
Is it possible to buy DVDs that will work with the OEM installation (in Danish) license, or I can get a toshiba restore disk or?
Please help me out here.
Normally, you need to create this recovery disc yourself using pre-installed recovery disc creator, but I think that now it s too late because Windows doesn't start anymore.
But you can order the CD here:
If you can t order it, ask an authorized service provider. Alternative use a normal disc of Microsoft and the drivers of Toshiba page.
This Toshiba laptop not recover itself thanks to the built-in tools.
I tried to reset the PC, and restore factory default, however, both saying "there was a problem.
I think I want to clean the hard disk and manually, re - install Windows 8 from a good USB stick, however I do not see the product key of Windows 8 on the underside of the machine. Is it hidden somewhere else?
Also, if I have to re - is install manually, possible to recreate the recovery partition?
Thank you very much
I guess you want to retrieve the computer laptop back to the factory settings.
To do this, you have two options:
(1) use the internal HARD drive recovery procedure:
Details here: [Windows 8 recovery & repair | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm]
(2) you must use the Toshiba Recovery Media creator to create first recovery media (disk or key recovery USB flash Recovery)
Then start the laptop using this support would begin a new installation of operating system and would be to install the image of Toshiba. This image is already activated and needs no series keys.
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite C850. I bought it on amazon UK and it came with 2 GB of RAM.
I'm really happy with it, but 2 GB of ram is no longer enough.
Last week, I bought 2 GB more RAM.
The packaging said KomputerBay, but the manufacturer is in fact "Micron". So I installed and activated on my laptop, but my laptop does not recognize the memory of Micron.
The bios says I have "2048MB" of ram installed, instead of 4096 MB. Therefore, Windows and Linux can recognize only 2 GB of ram.
Then, I removed the ram original samsung and pressed the power button with only the Micron ram installed. Unfortunately, the computer has not yet shown any image on the screen.
I have already tested the Micron on an old laptop Toshiba Satellite L650 module and it works like a charm. Thus, the ram is not defective. In addition, the ram is placed correctly because CPU - Z it detects correctly:
Also, I've updated the BIOS and I use recent toshiba Web site orders. Is there anything I can try to make this ram works on my laptop?
> Is there anything, I can try to do this ram works on my laptop?
I don't think so. For me it's the compatibility issue. Send it back and buy 100% compatible module for your laptop model.
Your laptop model can be improved up to 16 GB and compatible RAM modules have tracking numbers:
2 GB DDR3-1600-PA5037U-1M2G
4 GB DDR3-1600-PA5037U-1M4G
8 GB DDR3-1600-PA5037U-1M8G
I have a Satellite L300. A month ago, I bought and install an upgrade to Windows 7 (I had Vista). Last night, my laptop was working fine and this morning when I opened it I got this error:
BOOTMGR is corrupt. the system cannot start.
I did some research and tried to boot from the recovery disc. Laptop computer the disc I get the windows is looding files screen and then a company Microsoft is displayed with a bar above it and then I get a blue screen that says:
Now what can I do to reformat my computer and reinstall if I can't load the recovery disc!
I tried to put my DVD of Vista I have for my other PC, but I have another error black screen...
Can someone tell me what I can do now?
Is it because I have a recovery CD for Windows Vista and not 7?
Okay, so I read several post here and the only thing I can't think is the hard drive... but it had already changed a few months ago by Toshiba... now my laptop is not less guarantee more with Toshiba, but I have an extended warranty with my VISA... If anyone has any idea here, I'll try to bring it where they change HARD drive the last time...
My satellite pro C850 1HE keyboard intermittently stops working correctly, and begins to open programs, for example, by pressing F will open the file search, C open computer this kind of thing
is there a permanent solution to this problem?
This is not something to do with installed programs is not something to do with the browser settings.
restarting the computer works in a short time, but that is a long time, it's really annoying because I use this for work and study!
> is there a permanent solution to this problem?
The question is what causes this problem? Is it related hardware or software related issue?
Why n t connect a USB keyboard just to check if the same would happen?
In case the USB keyboard would work fine, I guess that the internal keyboard failures and the solution would be a simple replacement of the defective part.
Hello Forum users,.
Sorry for my bad English. I'll try my best ;-)
I'm trying to upgrade Windows 8.0 8.1 on a Satellite Pro C850-1MX.
Before that I removed:
-Realtek Audio Driver
-Realtek WLAN Driver
-Bluetooth filter Driverpackage
-Toshiba Health Monitor
I also checked the notebook with the update of the Windows Advisor 8 / attend.
Whenever I try the update is installed, the computer restarts and says while the previous version is restored because the update failed (0xC1900101 & 0 x 30018).
I tried to restore the laptop to factory (using the recovery partition), deleted the drivers, tried again. Same failure.
Where is the problem?
Someone at - it an idea?
I Don t know what to do then.
Upgrade the win 8 to 8.1 win, to follow some step by step instructions:
This can be found here: [how update of Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 | http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/]
Note: after installing Windows 8.1 drivers Toshiba and tools needs to be updated in the correct order.
The Win 8.1 driver installation instruction can be found on the page of the Toshiba UE driver you laptop model section.
I recently bought a C850 Pro Satellite and, after update to Windows 7 and everything defining the way I like it, I tried to create a recovery media.
However, when I click on Recovery Media Creator in the programs, the file 'TRMCLcher.exe' is not found. In fact, I can't find anywhere on the computer.
In the directory C:/Program Files/Toshiba/Toshiba Recovery Media Creator, there is an app called "toRDC.exe" but it does not.
Someone has ideas how to get creator of Meda recovery to run? D rather avoid the hassle to use the recovery option of hard drive partition to return to factory settings if possible, especially as I doubt m Recovery Media Creator works even in this case, I have seen ve not deleted or modified files with the program.
Grateful for any help, thank you.
Take a look at this page:
Here, I could find the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator for Win 7 64 bit for download.
Of course, if you need 32-bit version, you must change the settings in the upload form.
Hi, I recently bought the Toshiba Satellite Pro C850-1CW
It came with windows 8 preinstalled,
I have no use or interest in windows 8, so I formatted the hard drive and installed windows 7.
The problem I have is that there are no windows 7 drivers avalible for this laptop.
However, I managed to install all devices, but am left with an unknown device in Device Manager that left me completely puzzled after trying everything I could think of,
If guys, any help would be greatly appreciated friendly, brand...
Have a look here in this How To doc:
It would allow you to know which device you have and then you could find compatible drivers
I can tell you that in many cases drivers released for other series of laptop would be too much work. You can test the drivers released for Satellite C850 (not Pro) series
I'm looking for someone who is able to copy for me * recovery disk Home Premium Windows 7 64-bit partition for Toshiba Satellite U500-17F * (Czech language - or in English). I resized the partition and delete windows 7 recovery disc, and now I need to reinstall because of disk problems. I don't want to buy a copy because I bought satellite toshiba with windows 7 and why pay twice for the same thing.
Please let me know if you are able to copy the disc of recovery for me and put it to a web page that I can download it from. You can make a password to avoid abuses.
I can give you a small donation on paypal.
> removed windows 7 recovery disk
To be honest that s does not erase. Did you delete the folder in HARD drive recovery or what exactly?
Usually, you can reinstall Windows drive HARD or Toshiba recovery disc.
If you n t have it more, you can order the CD from Toshiba. In my opinion you n t pay twice for the same thing because it s not a Toshiba error.
Toshiba Satellite L350-170 - Intel Pentium Dual Core T3200 2.00 GHz, 2 GB, 250 GB, 17 "TFT, DVDSM, VHP
My wife bought three weeks ago. Use of the lamp. Everything works fine, until a dialogue of "Startup Repair" appeared. Since then, the machine starts.
Machine goes into "Windows Error Recovery" immediately after the Toshiba start screen and has the following options;
(1) run the Startup Repair tool
(2) start Windows normally
Option 2 results in a blank screen and finally goes back to the screen "Windows Error Recovery".
Option 1 has the reboot dialog box;
"Your computer was unable to start.
Startup Repair is checking your system for problems... »
At this point, the Toshiba laptop enters an endless loop.
So what I do now? There is no disc came with the laptop, so I can't reinstall the operating system. The dealer (Comet) is less useful and don't know no refund or Exchange for a defective product.
Can someone please!
Press F8 immediately after that the laptop has been turned on.
Then choose the first option called fix my computer.
Then a new window should open and there you can choose the option called Toshiba recovery.
Please note then this procedure would start the Toshiba HDD recovery and the BONE to relocate again. This would be to format the whole HARD drive and set the OS to the factory settings.
In my eyes, you can use this procedure for recovery of HARD drive, or you can try to reinstall the OS using the Toshiba recovery disc.
Both lead to the same results
I'm desperate for help try to solve this problem with my laptop. When I got my laptop (at Christmas) the majority of the tiles on the home screen windows 8 worked, however after a week or two they have gradually stopped working, which is very frustrating.
When I click on a tile, it opens on the screen but the wheel continues to turn and nothing loads. I spoke to Microsoft online, however, they said that the problem with Toshiba as the laptop was purchased with Windows 8 already integrated.
Suggestions, they did involving anti-virus and updates did not work.
The most frustrating part is the Windows tile store does not work so I can't try to updates or new downloads to see if they will not solve the problem.
Of course, I can use my laptop without the tiles, but I'm upset that I paid extra for Windows 8 and chooses the best part of it not working!
Any advice on what to do next would be great, thanks in advance.
Guess what? Try to restore the system Windows 8 back to the factory settings.
Here you will find documentation how to do this:
[Windows 8 recovery & repair | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm]
I recommend using the option * reset your PC *.
+ This option "Reset your PC" is useful when a PC is changed hands, or when you want to get a completely fresh start on a PC, without previous files of the selected configuration. +
+ The delete all, then reinstall Windows option permanently removes your personal files and the PC applications and returns 8 Windows to its original state. That the State of origin is a clean install of Windows 8, nor the default configuration of OEM factory, depending on the medium used for the operation. +
I have a problem with my laptop
When I restart my laptop, it tends to be stuck on this windows error recovery screen. It gives me two options
(1) Lauch Startup Repair
(2) start Windows normally
Tried both, it turns off, reboots that it ends on the same screen over and over again. Tried to access it via safe mode, nothing helps. tried to fix it through windows disk 7, did not work. tried last good configuration, not good either.
It's the screen that I always end up and it does not go further.
Please can someone show me a few guidelines as to how can I do to fix this problem. I'm a freshman in College, I have no money to take it to a professional. That's why I try to fix it myself as I have urgent need.
Thank you in advance.
Hmm, not easy, but in my opinion it s something wrong with properly installed Windows OS and HDD recovery doesn't work
You have the Toshiba Recovery disk?
If Yes, you can use it to restore the original settings windows. Just boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen, everything that s! :)
Am 90 per cent positive that this is not the fault of a broken keyboard keys do seem loose and work very well for a while.*
Basically, the other day I noticed the keys 3 and 5 were not work next to the f3 key (meaning I now have to go into the settings of brightness, whenever I want to increase it). I thought "I'll just reboot and see if that fixes anything" and he did... temporarily. I have to restart every time that I've lost the ability to use these keys, but now it does nothing.
There is no update which should install Windows (updated 8.1 update 1 recently).
There is no update options the keyboard driver (the box is grayed out).
There is nothing stuck, they seem not damaged or less they touch.

* I asked this question on the Microsoft forums and I've learned to run the troubleshooter of material (did not help) and if defective, to search for the latest drivers for keyboard - seems to me later for my model, such as the toshiba site list any keyboard updates.*

> I asked this question on the Microsoft forums and I've learned to run the troubleshooter of material (did not help) and if defective, to search for the latest drivers for keyboard - I seem to have the most recent for my model, as from Toshiba Web site does not list the keyboard updates.
It seems that this opinion is not from Microsoft staff, but some users of the forum.
You should know that the drivers of keyboard (developed by Microsoft) are still part of the Windows System. Any Windows OS you use, the keyboard driver would be always installed as part of the OS. This means that the drivers of special keyboard DON T exist but system uses own driver...
You can check the functionality of the keyboard in USB external keyboard.
If external keyboard works properly, the internal keyboard is malfunctioning and must be replaced.
If the external keyboard does not work properly too, then I recommend you to recover the laptop using Toshiba HDD recovery. Otherwise, there could be question of motherboard (keyboard controller).
