Satellite P10: black screen - single led light

My laptop has given me a few problems:
Problem 1 = does not recognize blank DVDs so I can't burn
Cure - bought an external drive

Problem 2 = off work even if usb ports said troubleshooting fine them, searched several tips & followed various procedures but none works
Address - only able to buy & use devices compatible firewire

Problem 3 = my bloody lighting does not work!

When I start my leds are lit and fans walk but my screen is completely black.

If I'm really, really close to my screen I can pretty much makeout my screen name, log, (hear intro to windows xp) & makeout at roughly the icons on my desktop.

I searched the forum, but found knowone with this problem or a cure for it.

Are all their technicians hear who can offer advice?
It would be much appreciated!

It s very sad to hear this
Problem 3 seems to be a Fl inverter or display malfunction.
Have you tried to connect the external monitor to the laptop?
Check if something will appear on the second monitor and use the FN + F5 option for switching between display devices.

Problem 2; something like this might occur because the external USB devices were not disconnected safely. In this case, you must remove the USB ports on the Device Manager. After the new specifications to restart the operating system will recognize the ports automatically. For the most part this procedure should help.

Problem 1; This could be a calibration error. Whenever the lens must be calibrated to read or write media. If the lens cannot be calibrates the drive is not able to manage the CD or the DVD.

    Thank you colin.

    Hi Colin,

You must change the settings in the configuration of Toshiba Power not in the version of Microsoft.

You should see two options in 'Control Panel', but if you select install Microsoft then all options will be 'gray out' when you hover the mouse over them.

Toshiba power options should be also accessible from 'Control panel', but if not you can access it from "-> all programs.

    Hello

On some machines, the pilot for 11 series IMEI has been known to cause that kind of question of the judgment, so it may be worth trying an earlier version.

Try to use the following method to see if you can install an earlier version of the driver IMEI.

Download driver IMEI on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe

Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).

Open your download folder and run the installer - it warns you that it is an earlier version, but simply continue.

    When finished, restart the laptop.

If the computer shuts down correctly, turn on your wireless adapter and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the driver IMEI again.

  • HP ENVY i7 Desktop 700-311: is the 23-inch monitor screen IPS LED - lighting compatible with HP ENVY Desktop 700-311 HP Pavilion?

I recently bought the hp with i7 proceessor envy and I want to know if the 23 inch screen IPS LED - lighting HP Pavilion monitor will be compatible with i7 ENVY 700-311 HP Desktop processor?

Until the entry of the screen is the viudeo output which is available on the desktop PC, it will be compatible. The dekstop PC has VGA and DVI outputs. Just use a cable that allows you to connect both devices and you'll get the video.

I see that the screen has both. I highly recommend the digital video input instead of the VGA NICU.

You will need a DVI cable.

This is a seller on eBay who will fix it for $100:

These guys have different levels of service; cheaper if you remove your motherboard and that just send.

You have a port monitor on the laptop. Hang a regular computer to the laptop monitor and the power. Press the fn key and the f4 key when you rewind to see if it appears on the external display. If this is probably just a screen.

Please can someone give me some advice.

    Hello

For me, it looks like serious hardware problem.
What you can do is to test the device with an external monitor:
Connect the external display and check if you see something like start screen for Toshiba, etc if you see something like that, then internal laptop screen is defective and must be replaced if not if nothing would seem-> the related problem of the motherboard.

  • Re: Satellite C660 - black screen

    Hi guys,.

This morning I had a problem with my toshibate c660, my screen is black and doesn't react not to when you turn on the computer.
However, my computer always on and you could see the light led lighting on and hear the computer from.

Now I fixed black screen by a tutorial, tutorial goes like this:

"First of all, turn off your computer by pressing and holding down the Start button. Then unplug the computer and then remove the battery. Press and hold start for approximately 60 seconds button.
Release the button and plug it into the computer. Press the Start button and the display should return. Replace the battery. If this does not work, try again up to four times. No result is generally a bad motherboard. Hope this helps. »

I did 4 times because the first 3 times, it did not work, and too my surprise the 4th time worked.

Q: can someone explain why it works?
I hold the Start button when they were without battery in the computer and it was not plugged in. I can't understand that it works when the computer is not powered.

    GR

Someone carefully one overview to explain?
I think that almost Voodoo is true :))

It's not easy to say why the question arose.

But as much as I know, that these black screen problems can be related to memory problems as well as a power failure.

In any case, it is very important that the workaround solution described in your ad worked correctly.

The same question of power happened to me a few months ago and the same solution was helpful to get the laptop working again.

  • Satellite P10 PSP10E shutdown and the light stays on

    Hello

I'm having some problems with my old man (2004) Satellite P10 PSP10E-0SCM7-FR

One day he simply closed (as if power, no BSOD) and the power and the led for WIFI and the CD/DVD button remains lit.

Most of the time I can't activate it under as the power button is still on. (Power button, WIFI, and CD/DVD are on).

I tried to remove the battery and unplug the computer for at least 30mm
I tried to press the Start button for a period of time (one minute) then disconnect everyting (battery and power cord) at least 30 minutes before to turn it back on
I have reinitialzed the computer using history CD provided with the computer
I removed the radiator cleaned as well as the fan and then replace a new thermal grease
    I changed the memory

Yet I still have the same problem, for some reason, the computer simply shutdown and the light stays on. Occasionally, the power light start, and I am able to restart the computer. But I'm unable to understand what makes the computer is shut down, or when that happens, what makes the power light turns off and make it possible to start the computer again.

    No idea what's going on?
The Start button / stop and led market would be an error message?
    If so, what that means?

Any help is very appreciated. Thank you!

    Damien

    Hello

Usually, books closed due to the high temperature and in this case, the unit must be disassembled and cleaned professionally, but it seems that you already have what I read in your post above.

    Probably its a motherboard problem.
The RAM modules appear to be checked and is not RAM issue.
    So problem mobo is possible

  • Satellite A200 - black screen of death

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A200 PSAFCA-01K00J model. This model, I bought Harvey Norman in Australia, but I can't find any registration on the web site of current Toshiba or abandoned. This sux because I am looking for any bios updates available to address a recent black screen problem.

The first time this has happened that I was able to reboot after removing the battery/cut the current to several times before its good. The next day, after an attempted works to install Kaspersky Anti-virus update the same problem... Power disconnected, removed, deleted drums (replacing the cylinder one and then the other to check the faulty ram memory cards) of ram and hard drive and then bled off residual tension with start button. Through this process several times before finally successful. I had to pass by it a few times since after restarts automatic windows updates, etc. I extracted the procedure to manually reset the bios by jumping it, but it's something I want to avoid doing this until I've exhausted all other options.

    Toshiba Satellite A200
    Model - PSAFCA-01K00J
    O/s - Vista
Hard Drive - 160GB with 50 GB of free space remaining.
System 32 with proccesors core duo. (intel)
    Bios Version/Date-phoenix Technology Ltd 5.20, 25/10/2007
    SMBIOS Version - 2.4

Any idea of sourcing on the last correct bios or any other input gratefully appreciate it... :)

    > Black Screen Of Death
What happen exactly when you start your laptop?

By the way: I ve checked the download from Toshiba on http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/download page and can not find this old model of laptop. I don't understand that Toshiba to THE is some archives for old models like on the page of European support.

Anyway, I don't think that BIOS is the reason for this behavior.

  • Satellite C650 - black screen after BIOS update

My Satellite C650 Windows 7 - won't start afte BIOS update / switch.

Everything worked very well until the automatic update of Toshiba asked me to download and install the new BIOS update, I did. At the same session Windows and McAfee asked updated. I agreed to all. After all updates have been installed, turns off. The next day when I walk, I see only black screen. I also tried F2, F12 and drive recovery. Nothing happens!

    Any recommendation?

    Hey,.

It seems that something was wrong during the update of the BIOS and so that you can t the computer unbootable. But I put t understand why you did the BIOS update. If everything works correctly, you can forget about this update. More if you do a BIOS update you shouldn't t run any other updates or programs that might affect the update of the BIOS.

Anyway, in this case you can do nothing and you need professional help. Please contact an authorized service provider and guys can help you update the ROM module On the Web from Toshiba site, you can find a list of all the FSA:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > find an authorized service provider

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite C650 - black screen

problem began Wednesday. laptop works fine until I try to play flash based games facebook then I get a blank screen. power lights are always on, without notice. verifying that the drivers are up to date. Flash is also a newer version.

running windows 7 sp1. AMD V120 processor 2.20 GHz. 3 GB of ram. 64 bit OS

one recent change was an update of definition for Windows Defender - KB915597 (definition 1.151.1061.0)
    Installation date:? 28 /? 05 /? 2013 07:24
    Installation status: success

    This update cannot be removed

used laptop with success all day with no problems until I tried to play a game.

the screen is completely black, it is not the backlight. It's like an accident because even if the lights are on you can do anything. NumLock is turned on, but the key does nothing. Ctrl alt del does nothing. by pressing the power button not turn off, just to reboot black screen causes. to turn it off completely after that happens I have to unplug and remove the battery for a few minutes. the first time it happened I've played lonely saga pyramid and yesterday that I was playing candy crush, two flash based games, but my flash player is up-to-date.

laptop was fine all day yesterday outside the time I updated my graphics driver, I tested it on candy crush after the restart, but not joy. If it was happening at random I think another type of hardware failure but I think the graphics card is on its way. the graphics card is an ATI mobility radeon HD4200 series. If it's the graphics card can it be replaced or is it integrated?

If I understand your original message; the laptop works fine until you start playing a Facebook game. Right?

What internet browser do you use?
I recommend you to try and test different browsers such as Chrome, Firefox or the new Internet Explorer 10

It's like, normally, when you press the mute, the light will be switched on or off.

I can only turn lighting on or off using Toshiba help.

Also when I press the "play" button, the windows media player has no more answers.

So is it a solution? Or drivers?
    Thanks for the reply.

    Hello

I think that these buttons don t work properly due to the Vista Ultimate.
I checked some threads here and it seems that the PPV that controls this Toshiba buttons don t support the ultimate or the ultimate doesn't fully support the VAP.

    But just a question;
Did you check the Toshiba Assist-> Optimize-> Toshiba button Support?
This tool allows you to configure the buttons. Maybe you should check this.
