Satellite P200D-128 belongs to the Satellite Pro series?
Hi I have a lap top indicates satellite in bright letters said Satellite P200D-128 on the underside of the computer, I am confused between Satellite and Satellite Pro, how do we know if we have a Satellite or Satellite Pro and only one I.
Concerning the best and warm
To be honest I do not understand your question, but if it is written by Satellite then must be satellite. Why only he can also be Satellite Pro?
P200D-128 put in Google and you'll find that all laptops with this model number satellite.
Is it possible to use the port replicator (Docking Stations) for Tecra series laptop with the Satellite Pro series?
No, as far as I know it of not possible to use a port on laptops Satellite Pro Replicator.
All laptops that support the Port Replicator has a port extension at the bottom of the unit.
To my knowledge, the Satellite Pro series don t have this port.
For now only the Tecra and some units Protégé(ie: S100) supports this feature.
The Integrated Chicony webcam on my Satellite Pro displays on my screen and I can adjust the settings, etc., and until yesterday, worked fine with Yahoo and MSN IM.
However, since yesterday, I get a message saying that it is not connected or it is locked by another program.
Alone, I can't look my friends webcsm either!
My OS is Windows Vista Business.
Please post laptop full name!
With regard to the question of the webcam.
Well, I found several ad about the same problem with the internal webcam.
That's why I really recommend looking in this forum to find answers.
But I give you a hint; the message appears because of the locked webcam service.
Just try to disable and enable the service that controls the webcam in the msconfig.
Finally and above all the new installation of the webcam driver and software, you can download from the Toshiba page, could solve this problem!
I have a Satellite Pro with a deleted warranty and I'm always happy with the speed of my CPU. Again a year from now I know I won't and I'm anticipating a CPU upgrade (after the upgrade of RAM and HARD drive) at this time. Some would say "sell & buy new", this approach will be more expensive because nobody wants to buy a laptop obsolete, but new compatible spare parts will become much cheaper...
After saying that & after reading a lot of 'IMPOSSIBLE' in this forum discussion, I'm almost certain this type of upgrade because my laptop has big brothers with the CPU, I would like to upgrade. There are also many sellers of "repair" off market where I can learn exactly what to do or what not to do. I'm not inexperienced because I deal with several desktop PC repairs & etc. of mine & my friends...
Having said all that, I wonder if it is STILL IMPOSSIBLE to upgrade a processor in my laptop? I know the risks, but I wasn't expecting that it would be a lot harder from examples of PC desktop. I don't think that incompatibility of CPU (pine, heat etc.) will be a problem since there bro as I said & I also manually checked all other requirements, such as the dissipation of heat, chipset compat. & etc...
Yet, I read something about "microcode" and the incompatibility of the BIOS. Here's the same thing? Given the new processor in its series does not guarantee BIOS compat. ?
That's all from me. All comments and suggestions are welcome as long as they came with an explanation. (written 'No you can't' without cause will not help at all)
> I know the risks, but I wasn't expecting that it would be a lot harder from examples of PC desktop.
Of course, the CPU upgrade is much trickier as an upgrade of CPU on the desktop PC.
If you want to upgrade the CPU, you should know...
-How to disassemble the laptop and remove all the covers and parts without damaging other laptop parts
-If the CPU is not soldered onto the motherboard and can be removed on a simple passerby
-If the BIOS can handle the new processor and fan table that stored in the BIOS would provide consistent settings for cooling the CPU properly.
-If the chipset is compatible and supports the new processor
-If the firmware needs to be updated (only by an ASP) because the wrong info of the DMI will not allow UC to perform with maximum efficiency.
-If the laptop will run stable after the CPU upgrade for the new processor is pleased to produce more heat.
As you can see the upgrade is not easy and certainly not possible.
As I Don t find all the information for the update service in market/pro "XP_SetAnalogToDefault.exe" on google I ask here, if someone may know what is behind this performance, what it does exactly, and if it can be removed safely start.
This execution is to 'c:\windows\oemdrv\swhelper\XP_SetAnalogToDefault. "exe" and many others runs associated with Toshiba and the implementation process (I guess) are located in this folder. "
System: XP SP2
Thanks in advance!
my opinion: it s a proggie that puts the monitors if an external monitor has been fixed. The program may only goes by default to the external monitor (analog) when windows is started.
Just guessing, but it (hopefully) sounds plausible. ;)
See you soon
Laptop was upgraded and repaired, with the new memory, DVD and hard drive in April.
Also XP SP3 isntalled.
Last week, I turned it on and windows was loading, I've heard two sets of two short beeps.
Rest of the laptop seems to work ok, bar NIVDIA towers problems when I turn off, but I have now the laptop as I want and I worry about those beeps. Of course, guaranteed for repair was three months, and who is just exhausted.
Oh woe is me. Can anyone? I can't reinstall everyting all again. Too old.
A surfer very silvery with a phobia of beep.
Hmm. I m using CCleaner also but just to clean the files in time and repair the registry, I never hear two beeps in missing hardware/driver, so for me, this does not look like CCLeaer that would solve...
But two beeps sometimes appear when starting the laptop, this could be the sound POST (self-test notification under tension).
However, you should also check if these two beeps would be available after the installation of new OS (new installation).
The screen on my laptop keeps freezing, especially when I'm on the internet, no idea why this is and what I can do to stop it.
Do you mean that the screen freezes or the whole operating system?
Have you checked the operating system for some viruses and malware?
Have you tried to recover the operating system with the Toshiba restore CD delivered?
Please check this!
PS: What laptop do you use?
Is someone can you please tell me where I can get a replacement for my laptop recovery CD/DVDs?
I tried to find one for centuries, but without success.
Thank you very much
There are a lot of discussions about the topic even if you're looking for a little more in this category of the forum then you will always find the same answer;
+ ask the ASP in your country for a Recovery CD/DVD compatible.
I agree with Stanislas and recommend to contact the ASP too...
See you soon
I'm looking at the two models listed in the title and would be looking to buy one of these but want to load XP.
I looked on the Toshiba site and drivers for XP are not there. Are they available anywhere?
Hope you can help!
Satellite A210-198 belongs to the series PSAELE and P200D-128 belongs to the PSPBQE series.
At this time that the Vista drivers are released for both series so it seems that you have to wait until Toshiba will release another driver
Apologies for multiple - originally, I put this in the Satellite rather than the Satellite Pro series Forum.
I have an old Satellite Pro 6000 that has 256 MB of RAM in it, and accordingly, as he tries harder sound, it is not the fastest machines.
I want to increase the RAM to 1 GB, which I believe is the maximum and 2 sticks of memory of 512 MB PC133 CL3 3.3V, which I think should work fine.
However, I tried to install either as a pair or separately, with the 256 MB of RAM, and when I put the memory in, the PC resolutely refuses to start. The lights of power lights, but it is only it works.
I put the original 256 MB of RAM in the slot, and it works fine.
I'm something wrong or missing something?
Any help appreciated gratefully.
> Am I something wrong or missing something?
Of course, you use the memory bad or is not compatible!
Initialization not after an upgrade of memory is a common behavior if the modules are not compatible or do not work.
You can upgrade the memory to 1024 MB (2x512MB) max and page Toshiba should run these modules:
PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)
Just bought memory upgrade for my Satellite Pro A100-229 in Crucial.com but these modules do not work in my laptop?
Details of the product is:-_ * CT12864AC667.8FG (1 GB SODIMM DDR2 200PIN 128 M x 64 PC2-5300 * _).
Does anyone know what memory modules will work in my Satellite Pro series please?
Or y at - it anyway I can make these modules work please?
Thank you very much.
If the modules are not compatible so you won't get work
I think you should check some Kingston modules: * DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM *.
I ve bought some Kingoston modules and they are working properly.
In fact I want laptop e downgrate (Satellite Pro series U940) since Windows 8 for Windows 7.
But, when I chose the hard drive to format and install the new OS (W7 64 bit) I read this message: "no driver signed device not found.".
Guys, please help me... !!
Please read this thread:
Some time ago I found an old laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro series machine, model 4220. It has a Pentium 3 450 Mhz, video card Trident with MB and 256 MB of ram. The only question is, how much it will cost when it is released, and when it came out.
Wow, your question is very special ;)
Hmm this laptop was released many years ago it s an oldie :D
As I remember it came out November 1999!
But unfortunately, I have not found any price! I think that it of not possible to say what cost this laptop.
Notebook dealers create portable final price and it depends on many factors such as country, supply and demand, etc...!
But maybe a few grandmothers and grandfathers could recall the price ;)
Hello. I recently bought a Satellite Pro L510.
It came with a program to upgrade Windows 7 with PSLFFL-002002 part number, which shows that they are eligible for the upgrade of windows to windows 7.
However, when my windows 7 cd came and when I tried to install it, there was a notice saying that my model is not eligible to upgrade to windows 7. When I referred to the given site 'http://support.toshiba-tie.co.jp/windows7/mlist_sp.htm' I noticed the L510 Satellite Pro series is not found in the list.
Later, I called the center of Contact from Toshiba for re - confirm whether or not L510 pro series can be upgraded to win 7, and the person told me to reformat my laptop to factory settings. He said that I should refer to 'http://pc.toshiba-asia.com/portal/public/win7/specs.jsp?model=proL510' instead in regards to laptops for the upgrade of windows.
However before I reformat my laptop I clarify / re - confirm L510 Satellite Pro can be upgraded to win 7. I don't want to reformat my laptop for nothing.
Hope someone could help me.
I don't know how it works in Asia or with Asian laptops but the fact is that all new laptops are designed for Win7 and I see no single reason for your laptop are not upgradeable to Win7.
Asian laptop models are not known to me, but I did not understand in your ad which OS came preinstalled as factory condition. Your laptop came with Vista pre-installed and you have upgrade you DVD Win7 or what?
AFAIK preinstalled Vista can be improved using Win7 upgrade DVD and after upgrade you must not activate it. It will be automatically activated.
So please be so kind and explain to us exactly what you want to do and how you want to do.
I want to put in a DVD - ROM drive in my Satellite Pro series 4300 (SP4320) to replace the current cd-rom installed TEAC. I was wondering what dvd - rom readers would be appropriate.
Would be especially drive DVD TOSHIBA sd-c2302 model and the drive DVD Teac DV - 28F be compatible with my laptop? Sites, I checked that the TEAC seems to be cheaper...
In any case thanks for any advice!
I m not, of course, what car models are compatible with your device. In my opinion the best thing you can do is to contact a Service partner and ask for more information.
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com - Supports & downloads you will find a list of all the European partners in Service.
