Satellite P300-150 - blue lines on screen

A question on my blue screen but as a non geek computer havn't a clue how to describe. Here goes.

The normal white screen of my computer began to appear with the shifting of the blue lines through it. However when I push my computer screen laptop back to my lap screen is stabilizing and is normal.

Hello

This means that if you have the screen, the image will not display correctly? Is this good?
And what you mean exactly with white screen exactly?

Right now it sounds like that the LCD cable has a loose fitting and should be replaced. Therefore, you can contact a service provider allowed in your country to replace this part.

  • Satellite P300-150: slow processor during the test with the id tool intel

    Hello

I just bought a Satellite P300-150 and it was working well in general... play lotro with few problems, but not in dx10 cos it chuggs as hell.

I noticed he had a genuine problem of warhead of the crisis in the recommended settings, but thought it was just cos he couldn't do.

But I downloaded the untilty of Intel processor id and he gave the following results... as you can see on the bottom 4 lines the processor is very upset with the expected results for the frequency and buses (fewer than half actually).

Intel recommends if there is a huge gap, I need to contact the manufacturer... which brought me here.
Any advice before contacting tech support directly?
Just maybe I can play warhead after all! : o).

    Hello

Satellite P300-150 was equipped with the Intel Core 2 Penryn T8300 processor.
This processor supports Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology.

Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology allows the system to dynamically adjust the tension and the processor core frequency. This means that the CPU doesn't always work with maximum performance, but only if it of needed. This helps minimize the heat dissipation and allows to secure the battery energy!

The CPU seems to be slow check with the Intel ID tool ;)

  • Installation of drive HARD recovery does not start on Satellite P300-150

    I have a 2008 Satellite P300-150 I want to restore factory settings.

I followed the steps described in the manual of s to do it from the hard disk (F8 at startup), however, when I try, a screen will appear with a warning with the topic box"system recovery options"then below says "cannot start the installed program. Click ok to turn off the computer.

I don't know m which is better to do it now if someone could suggest another way to do this, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you

The situation is quite simple to explain. Recovery image installation can be done on two tracks:
-using the HARD drive recovery or
    -using the create recovery DVDs.

I put t know if you created this disk after advice from Toshiba, but if you use for the installation of operating system.

By the way: Satellite P300 works perfectly with Win7 32 bit, so if there is a way to install do. It works much better than original Vista.

If you have any other questions you are welcome. ;)

  • Satellite P300-150 - impossible to record all sounds

Hello, someone has an idea why it is not possible to record all the sounds (for example with the Audacity software)? -Other classes of water-recorder do not work too...

Demand for Win "SndVol32.exe" shows that as a result of input sources: Mic and Line in French - output, it is shown SW-Synth., wave, CD player and Master Volume. -In the case of P300, Mic is in fact only to the webcam mode. On my old P20-852, here I could record the flow of the web and for expl WMP 10. and sometimes I use it for the soundtrack of the synthesizers installed.

I have de - and reinstalled the rather (Conexant August 2008 version) and a newer version of SndVol32.exe... I tried with a new installation of XP on a 2nd partition program... same result. What's the reason, because I have a modification nLite XP Pro SP3? -My laptop is a Satellite P300-150 /PSPC4E

Sorry, I have not analyzed all the discussions for an answer to my probs.

    Sincere friendships of Chris

Normally it should not be a problem to record sounds with a installed and modified Windows XP with nLite.

But have you tried to install the laptop with the recovery disk? Try this!
The recovery disk contains all the drivers and tools to use all functions on the laptop and it should work.

  • Satellite P300-150: Boot xp-vista & only 3 GB of memory with the xp

    Hello

I have a Satellite P300-150 and I have two problems:

    (1) I install XP in my second partition and I can't boot to vista, I can start only for XP

    (2) I have install Windows XP Pro SP2, but Windows only shows 3 GB

    Thank you
    Fotis

    Hello

    > 1) I install XP in my second partition and I can't boot to vista, I can start only for XP
The problem is known to me I installed the XP too on my laptop and after installing XP, I was not able to start the Vista because XP destroyed the Vista boot Manger!

If you need now a Microsoft Vista DVD original (not Toshiba DVD recovery) and you should boot from the Vista DVD. This allows to repair the Vista Boot Manager.
Then, you will be able to boot into the Vista operating system. Then, install the free tool called EasyBCD.
This tool allows you to change the Vista Boot Manager and add the XP operating system to the Boot Manager.

(> 2) I install Windows XP Pro SP2, but Windows only shows 3 GB
I guess that your XP is a 32 bit OS and so he can see only 3.2 GB due to the limitation of the 32 bit OS.
More details you can find on the Microsoft page

  • Satellite P300-150 - cannot use a USB

    Hello

I have a satellite p300-150 with Windows XP PRO SP2 and I can't use any USB key (I can't open) but I can use e.g. USB mouse.

    Thank you
    Fotis

    Hello!

You can format the USB on the laptop, and you can see it in disk management?
Do you have the yellow marks in Device Manager?

This shouldn't be a problem with the USB ports, I think that the USB have some errors.

    Good bye

  • How can I configure the keys easy to work with iTunes on Satellite P300-150?

I have a Satellite P300-150. The easy (the illuminated keys above the keyboard) keys work fine when iTunes is in the foreground, but I want them to work when I minimized iTunes or switch to another window. I found the "TOSHIBA button Support" utility help within TOSHIBA, but it only allows me to set it up as the "Enlightenment" and "CD/DVD" [drive] (the two left most) easy keys make...

    Any ideas please?

    Thank you.

I doubt that this is possible
I m using the WinAmp instead of Windows Media Player and the CD/DVD button works with Winamp. I want to say I can run Winamp by pressing this button, but I can't use the game, break, buttons forward in WinAmp.
I think that it is not possible also with ITunes I've never tested, but it seems that it s not configurable.

  • What can be done to improve the performance of the Satellite P300-150

    Hello

    I have laptop Satellite P300-150.
It seems powerful enough but struggles with some of the latest games.
It s not my main but game machine I m aware if he's struggling now, it won t well before he won t be able to run at all.

And I wouldn't be able to play on the move...

What can be done to increase the capabilities of the laptop - like tweaks, tools and upgrades?

    Thank you
    Max

    Hello

You could improve memory to 4 GB of RAM.
The laptop can be upgraded to 4 GB, but note that the Windows 32 bit OS (Vista & XP) will see only 3.2 GB due to the limitation of the 32 bit OS.
In this case, you must use the 64 bit OS to get full access to 4 GB.

Second, you can configure laptops OS. I mean you could start the msconfig and might turn off some background process is not necessary including the performance of laptops of waste.

Unfortunately, other upgrades are not possible (apart from HARD drive, but will not increase performance)

  • Qosmio G10-133: the blue lines on screen

To all those who can help you:

I turned on my Qosmio yesterday to find a series of unwanted blue lines, distorting the Qosmio logo. Lines and distortion continued until the operating system came at the opening of my office. At this point the whole system locked and the screen went completely blank.

The Qosmio player suffers from the same problem. The boot system, but crashes when the display is asked to do something.

I can open the operating system in safe mode, but the lines still appear to a lesser extent on the screen.

I have run all the tests and has been through the manual troubleshooting section. I tried to reinstall the drives and roll back to the previous facility. But, for all that I try, nothing will change.

Qosmio my friend did exactly the same thing a month or two it is a. Solution from Toshiba was to replace the motherboard.

My Qosmio is still under warranty, and I am very happy to send it because Toshiba has one of the best customer service I've had to face.

But, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I also very pleased with the customer support service Toshiba m.
I think that the simplest and the best way to resolve this weird display problem is to bring the unit to the ASP. Laptop you is guaranteed to be protected and a replacement is free.

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite P300-150 and HDD upgrade

Hi, my wife Laptop(P300-150) has developed a tick unit HDD1 - I would like to replace this 250 GB drive with other, larger capacity HARD drive. So my question is twofold

    (1) what is the maximum size of disk HARD of this laptop can tolerate? -500 GB?
    (2) does it matter if I buy a SATA - II - when the original disc in a SATA drive?

    Thanks in advance
    IMM

Unfortunately there is no document where you can find this info on the maximum capacity of the HARD drive that can be used with the Satellite P300 but I m 100% sure you can use 500 GB on Satellite P300.

I don't know if your laptop has a SATA II controller but, as far as I know, SATA II is backward compatible and I think you can use it on your laptop, but it runs with SATA that access speed.

Upgrade disk SATA I HARD and you will be happy with it.

  • Blue lines on screen

    Hello

When I write something, there are blue lines sometimes appear on the screen. I take a screen shot picture so I think it as settings or firmware. How can I solve this problem?

    Thank you.

@Jake-SonyXperiaSupport , is it not the gesture of entry in the keyboard settings? It can be disabled, at least on my Z1.

  • After the closing down by Satellite P300-150 won't start

I have a P300-150, he stops a day or use environment. I thought it was just a stop thermal protection to the bottom as I had it on all day watching DVDs / tv online. It wouldn't come right back so I let it cool for a while but he still won't return to the top. He tried battery and battery without result. I don't not even to the extent of the POST/BIOS.

  • Re: Satellite P300-150 - battery replacement not detected

    Hello

I bought a replacement battery for my laptop that I got an error message saying that I should replace my battery.

I bought a compatible battery, but it is not detected by my system.

The battery indicator was strong when I plugged in for the first time in the power adapter, as it was when my old battery charge - but now it blinks in and out.

I can't boot from the battery alone.

    Battery: PA3536U-1BRS, 4000mAh

    New: PA3536U-1BRS, 7800mAh

    Running windows 7.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Post edited by: tomangegi - got a bit mixed model number

Is the new battery compatible and listed as replacement for your Satellite P300?

Somehow I think that it is not compatible and original Toshiba battery. I'm wrong about this?

  • Qosmio F30-117 - green and blue lines on screen

Then my F30-117 worked well recently until I turned on and had green and blue lines (kind of like scan lines) straddling the fence.
I tried to install the new drivers from nvidia, but that has not worked, as Vista comes to pick up their as unknown.

Anyone who has a solution? Don't you think that the graphics card needs to be replaced?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Eric Zehetbauer.

You can easily determine what's the reason for this.
    Do you know how?

Simply connect an external monitor to the laptop and check the top image.
If you have the same problem on the external monitor, the reason is the graphics card or motherboard, otherwise it s a display problem internal.
    Check it!

In addition, you should only use the drivers from Toshiba. The Nvidia drivers don't have a for the graphics chip overheating protection could be damaged. It s on your own risk.
So, try to install the drivers of Toshiba.
