Satellite P300 - cursor jumps back
Hello
I have a Satallite P300 - 19 p and when I type after some works the cursur jumps to a place randomly in the text that I write. Is very annoying because I have to look at the screen all the time, I tried to type very slowly to see if I tap on a button by accident, but then it never happens.
If anyone knows if it is a fault, all other computers that I use if I hit a wrong key, I just get a bad character not the cursor jump to a point prior to writing
Hello
I think you touch the keyboard as you type and so the cursor jumps to another post.
Therefore, you must disable the tapping function in the touchpad driver. After that, you can only use the touchpad for moving the mouse but not for the left clicking (tapping) more.
Check Control Panel > mouse > advanced settings.
Here, you can disable this feature.
Check this box!

Laptop cursor jumps back to the top whenever you press SPACEBAR
Where I work, we have 6 laptops Toshiba Tecra, a few M3 & some M5. We have one (an M3) as the cursor jumps at the top of the screen whenever the space bar is pressed, in any program (other non-Microsoft), & no matter how lightly or hard the space bar is pressed. The machine has been completely recreated several times without any change. The same image is on all our office & laptops.
thewhitefella,

While I'm working in an application program, it seems that certain keystroke (s) (shortcut keys I'm not aware and not intention to use?) causes my cursor jump to the top of the page and getting stuck there. When I scroll or page down to go to the point where I want my cursor to continue working and entering text or data, it doesn't let me do; it jumps to the top of the page. Simualtaneously, if I try to solve the problem by making CTRL + G to go to a page says, the view goes to very large print (more than 100%) as soon as I hit him CTRL and that's all that happens. It often happens in Word and when it happens there, it does also in my e-mail and Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer software. I havde printed the list of keyboard shortcuts to see if I can detect what I do when typing that can cause, but so far I have not been able to know what could be. I don't see any description of this type of behavior associated with any shortcut key; and I don't know what keys are causing it (by time, it starts to occurring at that I don't know what type, I used maybe inadvertently). Someone on my team to support the University suggested that maybe it's my mouse; I changed my mouse and it's the same thing. The only thing is that I've not seen what pops up is when I use the ball of keyboard to navigate (not the mouse); Since I ususally only dispenses with the mouse by send away from home, I'm not even sure that it won't happen that way either. M HERE to loss. It is very annoying since I have to close the file, I'm trying to stop the behavior. and sometimes it will not even do this, I have to open a session

Arnie palmer,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.I will include links to articles that show you every possible shortcut keys that you might be inadvertently hit to create this behavior. If none of these prove to be the problem, you can consult the web site of the manufacturer of your laptop because they sometimes proprietary software installed on portable computers that is separate from the operating system.
Shortcuts - keyboard this is a very comprehensive list

Why keep the cursor jump back to the top
My cursor continues to spoil and goes right to the top or ignore the lines and words. What is a solution?
You type on a laptop? In this case, the touchpad is very probably hypersensitive. Some keyboards can register fast typing like the movements of the mouse. :-(
You can reduce the sensitivity settings in Control Panel, or you can disable the touchpad (temporarily or permanently) and use a mouse instead.

Qosmio G20: cursor jumps typing the letter
Hi everyone, my Qosmio G20 gives me headaches! When I try to type a letter or article suddenly the cursor jumps back lines and I find myself typing in the middle of a previous sentence. Then sometimes it just deletes a paragraph I just typed.
Any suggestions as to why? And more importantly on how to behave?
I would be happy to advice.Thank you.
RonnieYes, it's because of the touchpad. To disable and enter in peace, just press Fn + F9. This will temporarily disable the touchpad. When you are finished typing, press Fn + F9 again, it will re-enable the touchpad.

Satellite P300 - is there a keyboard backlight?
Hi - did anyone know whether Satellite P300 has a back light for the keyboard? I suppose that it is that the keys are black but can't for the life of me how to turn it on. Any help is appreciated.
As far as I know bright keyboard will be offered with the new series of laptop A500 and P500.
I'm 100% sure that satellite P300 doesn't have this keyboard. You can check the specifications of the models of different satellite Satellite pro P300 and you will see that is mentioned nowhere this keyboard.

Guard cursor jumping around while I type
Original title: keyboard
I type some words and all of a sudden, I noticed that the cursor jumps back and I find myself typing in the middle of my sentence.
It took me like 5 minutes just for this type. She tends to jump back only (not really before?) and its so annoying.
Has anyone encountered this situation and what solution did you find?
Thank you
Hello.
Using a laptop?
In many cases when people feel things like that, it's because they rest their arms on or around the touchpad and touch accidentally while typing. Try typing something and don't forget to keep your arm clear of the touchpad to see if it has an effect any.

New laptop yesterday. When you type, the cursor jumps back and letters are placed in the words entered previously?
original title: keyboard probkem
wendyjjll,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum. Most likely, the problem is due to the sensitivity of your touchpad. Whenever you type, your thumb probably affects the touchpad with the cursor to another location where you type. You can set the sensitivity of your touchpad, or turn off the tapping by going into settings start, Control Panel, mouse and keyboard. If it is not under that, the manufacturer of the laptop most likely installed custom software to control the touchpad. Let us know what kind of cell phone, brand and model, and we will be able to help you.
Thank you
