Satellite P300D - 21K - Sound completely stopped working

Hello

I used my P300D - 21K with no problems for a few weeks now. But today the sound completely stopped working on the laptop. It seems that there is laptop thinks it is running through it, like the sound level meter, the exit bar is pulsated up and down that I play a sound track.

Any ideas?

I got a message saying "Error in creation of the sound buffer winamp 8878006 error code" but it was after I had lost the sound.

Have you checked the Device Manager? The sound card is correctly recognized?

Maybe you should try to update the audio driver. You can find it on the Toshiba site:

Did you check if the sound is muted only? You can do this with FN + ESC.
Check it!

I can't give info much more than that, but my computer has just stopped working.

I had owned the PC for less 2 hours, but while I was installing some programs the computer will just empty. It seems to be quite dead.

It fails to turn on, the light indicating it is connected is not yet lit.

I have no idea what could be wrong or what caused it to stop just but it is rather relative. The only thing I can say is he was running rather hot, I never expected to get so hot, but I assumed it was normal given the processor, it is running.

An hour after initially breaks I tried to turn it on again, but nothing helped. Does anyone have and suggestions/recommendations for my next course of action?

  • Satellite P300D - 21K Touchpad scroll not working not not on Windows 7

    Hello

I'm new to this forum so I don't know if this is the right place to post this.

Anyway, recently I installed Windows 7 32 bit on my Toshiba laptop, everything went well and I installed all the drivers I needed in order to make the webcam and the function of the keys at work etc.

But I have a problem, my touchpad scrolling is not working after installation, now I can't scroll up and down, left and right with my touchpad. I tried searching for all the drivers who can help solve this problem, but I havn't been able to find everything about the touchpad.

Anyone would be able to help me with my problem? Would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hi SA90,.

Normally, you need to install the driver for the touchpad for use of the virtual scrolling function. I checked the site Web of Toshiba and I could find a touchpad driver for Windows Vista 32 bit. Normally the Vista drivers are also work on Windows 7.

    Hello

I think that it of really not easy to say what could be the problem
    I can only suggest

Depending on your message, nothing appears on the screen not even if you would not try to boot from the recovery disk or other bootable discs. Is this good?

    You could try a procedure;
-Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter from the portable computer
-Wait several minutes (about 30 min)
    -try to boot the machine

Check it out, but if you will not be successful then a hardware malfunction could be the cause of your problem, and you should ask the local ASP to help him!

  • Satellite C650 - sound suddenly stopped working

    Hello.

I bought this laptop the month last November.
in any case, around a week or two ago, the noise suddenly would not work.

He started making strange noises when I put in the headphones and speakers just made no noise at all never.
I did a lot of weird things - like system restore, reinstall audio drivers but nothing worked until I updated the bios, then everything went well and the sound worked again.

However, today, the sound suddenly stopped working again. I tried to re - install the current bios but InsydeFlash says: "the version of the ROM file is the same BIOS version" and just closes.

I searched the internet for an older version of the bios, but when I try to install it, InsydeFlash said: 'the version of the ROM file is not newer than the version of the BIOS' and of course, I know that but then it closes too!

I'm not really good at computers or anything, any help at all would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    I recommend checking some options first;
-check if mute is not activated
-check if all the volume controls are set to a higher value
-check if the sound using headphones

If this is not successful, you must reinstall the audio driver.
First go to Device Manager and uninstall the audio driver. Restart the device
Download the audio driver from the Toshiba page, then reinstall it. Reboot once again and test the sound.

  • Satellite P300D - 21K - problem Hibernate / sleep

Toshiba Satellite P300D - 21K was pre installed with Vista Home edition, but no more.

It has Win 7 64 bit blank installed RAM was fun to the maximum and there is no additional software that was installed on the PC yet just the OS package is.

I put the PC in 'sleep' by FN + F3 or simply close the lid and it works very well. When I take by opening the cover, he wakes up in fine. I begin to exploit where I left who works until it completely freezes and the only way to solve the problem is in the power and turn it on again and restart Windows. This always happens when I use the sleep function.

When I got this PC runs smoothly so this seems to be a software problem.

    Copied files have been archived.

    > When I passed this PC runs smoothly, so this seems like a software problem.
Hmm I do not know if its software issue related m
It could be linked to the new RAM installed since data will be written into the RAM going in standby mode.

Recommended to remove the RAM module installed to test the laptop mode and sleep.

    Hello

You reinstall Windows or only the sound suddenly stopped working?
And the sound card is in the Device Manager? There are some yellow exclamation points?

Before installing the new drivers, you must remove the old drivers first. This means remove the older version of the driver and the software, and then restart the laptop. Use CCleaner to clean the registry and restart. After this installation, the latest driver from Toshiba Europe page.

If you have already tested if the touchpad isn't disabled?

How about the external USB mouse? It work correctly?

First check the status of the sound card in Device Manager.
If there is a yellow climbing brand then you should try to reinstall the driver. (first remove it and after reboot, install a new)

  • Satellite 1900-303 Touchpad: has stopped working

The touchpad on my Satellite 1900-303 has suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. The touchpad icon has disappeared from the office toolbar & I do not see the touchpad listed in Device Manager. However, the ALPS touchpad driver is listed in the installed programs.

The laptop runs on XP Pro SP2. Can anyone help with this please?

  • Tecra M2: sound system stops working after a while

    Hello

I used my TECRA M2 a year without serious problems. A moth started it my problems with audio - after the start (no matter if via boot or wake up from hibernation) his (speakers) system is functioning normally. After a while (several tens of minutes, hours) sound system stops working (no sound from your speakers or headphones). No errors appear, but not sound. When you try to adjust the volume via the Windows icon on the bar the task CPU usage becomes very high.

I decided to reinstall my M2 - the first attempt was clean install of WinXP SP2 standard support - sound problem has not changed. Today I decided to restore the system recovery CD, but the result is the same :-(

Any idea? -I suppose that problem Council... Now, I made a mistake when entering - beeps system (such a beep as during startup) - interesting :-/

Except sound problem - another strange thing - when I send my XP to restart in about 10% of the attempts he goes off and does not start. Starts normally after pressing power button...

Any ideas would be much appreciated

  • Satellite P300D - 21K: Windows 7 64 bit upgrade level & RAM Upgrade advice

Hi, I need some advice on upgrading my laptop. My laptop is a:

    Toshiba Satellite P300D - 21K
    Model No.: PSPD0E - 00H003EN

I think of upgrading to windows 64-bit (lucky students can do that for A £30!) to help speed up my laptop. I use some CAD applications, so 64-bit should help with the speed of these applications. Question:

    (1) are there reasons that someone could advise me not upgrading to 64-bit with my laptop?
    (2) I need to update my RAM at least 4 GB for 64-bit. I currently have 3 gig, so I guess I need to replace my stick of 1 GB with a 2 gig stick? Or did I put a 4 GB stick with my existing 2 gig stick?
    (3) going to upgrade my ram and operating system void my warranty?

1 in my opinion there is no reason why you should not install version 64-bit OS. Just be sure that all 64-bit drivers are available on the Toshiba support page.
I imagine at the moment for Win7 drivers are still not available and you have to wait.

    2. According to the specifications of the laptop Satellite P300D - 21 K can handle with 4 GB 2x2gb RAM max is the maximum that you can do about it.
2 GB compatible RAM has PA3513U-1M2G part number.

    3 No.
