Satellite P750-103 - overheating

Hello

I bought my computer a under a year now and it's just really hot. I mean, to the point where it's really uncomfortable to keep my hands on it. In addition, this happens without even be playing (obviously not too aggressive but still highly unusual for simple web browsing). In addition, when I play it feels like it is just to have a cooling system (when running nVidia graphics) and some time after that I closed the game, he remembers pushing the cooler. I'm getting worried because I've already lost a laptop on a overheat and, even if it was an old laptop, I fear that could happen to this news.

What should I do and covered such a problem (I am Portuguese and I bought my computer here so warranty of 2 years applies).

Thanks in advance for any help...

Is somehow blocked when you use your laptop computer (cooling ventilation) of the cooling system?

Normally when the laptop is placed on the desktop and nothing, blocks of cooling portable events will be able to take a breath and material will be cooled properly. I put t know how I can you use your laptop, but I know of two cases where people were responsible for the laptop computer overheating.

    Hello

I bought a P750-103 two days and I find very difficult to type on this keyboard.

When I press the keys on the corners, sides, or even a bit far from the center of the button, it does not work.
I tried keyboard Toshiba R840, resembling the P750 and I can tap on anywhere in the keys and it works.

Another person who has bought the same laptop I encounter the same problem as well.
Is there a reason for this behavior? Is this normal?

I get used to or get another laptop instead of this one? I have 15 days to decide if I'll keep the P750 or get a new one.

    Best regards

Are you sure that you have pressed the buttons at the end? Have you noticed the contact button?
I don't know Mr. what could cause this; Maybe this problem of s keyboard.
Maybe you could test an other P750 in the shop
Another option could be ASP from Toshiba. You could contact the guy in your country and may request verification of keyboard

  • What is the correct order to install Win7 to Satellite P750-103?

    Hello

I'm going to do a clean install on my laptop with Win7 x 64 and I would like to know if there is a specific order to install the driver and if there is a way to download all in one package (zip or other) or if I really need to download one at a time in the support page. If Yes, what Bluetooth driver I install: when I try to download that one I m re-directed to another page with a lot of them

Order of installation is very important for a successful OS installation. All the necessary drivers, you can find on the download page of Toshiba. Unfortunately, you have to download and install one by one. Toshiba doesn't offer a sort of all in one package.

  • Satellite M40-103 - overheating?

    Hi all

I bought this laptop in April and had no problems until now.

In the last days the laptop has been doing very hot especially in the box just to the left of the keyboard and the touchpad itself. Infact, it was so hot the night I could not comfortably rest my wrist on the laptop to type! The fan seems to be working so I don't know what the problem is.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated :).
    Thank you
    Lisa

    Hi Lisa,

This looks like a classic case of dust and debris blocking the cooling rack in the radiator of CPU. You will find many discussions in these forums covering thios problem.

Try to vacuum the dust (through the grilles of intake air) with a household vacuum hose.

Also I recommend placing the laptop on a business running to make sure that no dust/Lint is sucked into the unit of area (for example, a table or desk). For use on your lap, I would recommend a tray of some kind to ensure sufficient air arounf the laptop.

  • Occasional overheating of satellite P755-103

    Hello!

I bought a new Satellite P755-103 this month. Last Thursday, after a full day of work with the laptop, while I was on a Skype video call on windows, I noticed that the laptop was overheating. I opened the Toshiba PC Health Monitor (strangely, there is no icon for it, so I started on the Start Menu). It reported 0% and 0% CPU temperature fan speed. I turned on the eco mode, which immediately began the fan, but the health monitor always reports 0%, 0%. I rebooted several times and the health monitor continue to report at 0%, 0%, and fan behavior is not compatible with the temperature: change to eco usually resulted in power runs properly. Finally, I decided to stop, unplug the power supply and restart. It seems that this solves the problem, which has occurred again.

I suspect that the cooling is controlled by the BIOS, I have all of the Toshiba Linux utilities. I have recently updated the BIOS to v1.90 dated 27/04/2011, as recommended by the utility Toshiba Bulletin Board.

Is there a recommendation from overheating problems, not to mention that all backup data?

    Thank you
    Paulo Pereira, Portugal

    Hello Paulo

Data backup is always the right decision and you shouldn't do it due to overheating, but more to avoid the loss of data if the HARD drive is faulty.

When the laptop overheating as it turned off (physical protection) or part of the hardware (GPU) may be damaged.
My only advice to you is to take care of your laptop. Use it on the office and always make sure that the cooling vents and cooling grills are free and not blocked.

For every day use I recommend to use the balanced power plan. Enter power options advanced for balanced power management > Toshiba power Saver saver > cooling method and assign the optimised battery.
Your portable computer is running much more silent than before.

    Test it please.

  • Satellite P750 - overheating when using the graphics card

I have a Satellite P750. I have a few games that I love to play, but I am unable to because that laptop overheating during the execution of these games.

The specifications of the P750 with GeFORCE 540 m graphics card and 8 GB of ram easily meet the requirements of the games (Counter strike source, cod mw3).

While playing the games for about 10 minutes, all right.
After this step, things start to warm up, and small defects appear on the screen.

Small rectangles of messed up graphics.
If I don't leave the game immediately, I get a BSOD with errors such as "IRQL _less_than_or_Equal.

The vent on the left side of the laptop runs very hot when this happens.
I cleaned dust vacuum on and uses a fan/cooling pad to try to cool it.
    Makes no difference.

I updated to BIOS and graphics card drivers

WHAT CAN I DO TO PREVENT OVERHEATING WHEN YOU USE THE GFX CARD

Hmm using the page of the Toshiba driver graphics driver?
Such driver is a bit different from the other nVidia drivers because it s modified for mobile use. It contains some kind of overheating protection.
In case of higher temperatures of GPU, such driver would clock down GPU performance in order to increase the temperature of the GPU.

  • Satellite U940-103 with Linux - Touchpad does not & poorly programmed FN keys

    Hello

I bought a toshiba Satellite U940-103, and I installed ubuntu 13,10 dual boot with windows 8.1.

The problem is that the touchpad is not working and the fn are false (fn f2 key suspend the computer instead of the brightness control).

I tried to install linux different sistem (Mint cinnamon 15, 13.04 ubuntu, ubuntu 12.04.3) but they still have the same problem, even in the live cd.

I tried to ask the Italian Forum of ubuntu, but they have solutions do not work...

    Thanks for the help

    * PS.* sorry for my bad English. Is it normal that my laptop seems overheated and my battery life seems to be reduced when I use Linux?

    Hello

    Yes, you're right!
In the direct (stable mode without having to install), the touchpad does not work.

However, once installed, it will work.

In regards to shortcut keys, yes they are mapped correctly.
They are treated to the old-fashioned way (former Toshiba models had the mapping used by Linux on this model).
If you want help, file a bug report on bugs to Ubuntu system.

You can always change the brightness by using the GUI (Control Panel > brightness & Lock).

Fun with Ubuntu on your device!

  • Satellite P750 - Dragon Age II breaks down

Hey I looked all over the Internet for similar problems, but I can't seem to fix it on my pc. I have a nVidia GeForce GT 540 M 2 GB graphics card and I ve just installed the latest version of nVidia 275.33 drivers. My computer is a Satellite P750, Intel Core i7 2630 QM CPU @ 2.00 GHz, 8 GB RAM, Windows 7 64 bit

I can load Dragon age II, but it blocks a few minutes into it. Sometimes it freezes and can hear the music but crash screen usually just black. Even with Battlefield Bad Company, it loads boot but hangs at the start of campaign. Almost none of my games work and it must be something to do with the graphics.

I tried all the graphics settings in dragon age 2 don t help I have x 11 installed live. If anyone can help or has any ideas please let me know!

    See you soon

    Hi Uncochicken,

I think that Akuma is good and the problem seems to be the nVidia display driver because it s not pre-tested on your laptop and doesn t have an overheating protection. I advise to use the latest Toshiba display driver.

So uninstall the current display driver (Control Panel > uninstall) and uninstall the nVidia display driver. Now, reboot your system and install the latest version of the Toshiba display driver. Even after restart your computer, and the new display driver is installed correctly.

What model of Satellite P750 you have exactly?

  • Re: Satellite P750 - white dots appear with animations, not everything at stake

White dots appeared with all the animations but note during the matches and need info on a solution to this.
I did a factory reset again it's an update on the graphics card drivers and now the computer sometimes overheats and shuts down and also to slow.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    It s a Satellite P750 with gt 540 m graphics card

    > did a update on the graphics card drivers and the computer now sometimes overheats and shuts down and also to slow.

You must use the page of the Toshiba driver graphics driver because this driver is designed for mobile use. Drivers from other sources are not changed and lead to overheating GPU. This may damage your laptop.

PS: it would be interesting to know if the white dots are visible on the external monitor and when you noticed these white dots exactly (what animation?)?

  • Satellite P750: Impossible to install the Bluetooth Stack on Windows 7 (x 64) driver

    Hello.

    I own a * Satellite P750-02 t * (part No. * PSAY3A - T 02 001 *).

    In the order I did:

    (1) I formatted the HARD drive and reinstalled the operating system of * Windows 7 x 64 Ultimate SP1 *.

Then I downloaded * ONLY the BIOS and drivers * of [his downloads page | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/p750/psay3a-02t001/download?os=25]:

    (2) I've updated the BIOS for * v1.90* (the laptop came with v1.80)

    (3) I have installed all drivers:
    -LAN and WiFi
    -Chipset Intel latest (available)
-all video drivers (NVIDIA Graphics, Intel HD Graphics and Intel HDMI)
    -Card reader
    -Realtek HD Audio (later)
    -Synaptics Touchpad
    -USB3.0
    -IR
    TV tuner
    However, I * cannot install Bluetooth driver (v8.00.06 (T) *)...

When I run the installation program of the [aforementioned page | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/p750/psay3a-02t001/download?os=25] it detects partially *'Bluetooth USB Controller-10 TOSHIBA'* (USB\VID_0930 & PID_0215 & REV_001)
and then the installation freezes simply displaying + "install the Bluetooth driver. Please wait +.' and stay like that forever...

    I also tried to download a driver [another location | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php?page=download-toshiba] for laptops TOSHIBA - v8.00.02 (T):
and followed installation instructions displayed under "Details".
but he had the same result: the installer simply crashes...

Install fix (* KB978258 *) recommended it did not work either - the message "+ update is not applicable to your computer +" appears.
And I understand why - this fix is [already included: http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/B/A/EBA55FE2-373A-4351-9346-6D762B79AA69/Updates%20in%20Win7%20and%20WS08R2%20SP1.xls] in Service Pack 1 for MS Windows 7.

I spent hours searching the Internet for a solution. Although there are some similar cases, none of the recommendations actually worked. I tried to install:
    -WiFi driver before installing the Bluetooth (someone suggested that these two are parts of the same card);
    -Repeat Mode Setup without failure;
-* Toshiba value added package * hoping that somehow these tools will kick in.
    Nothing has worked...

It is interesting to note that when, in the interests of experimentation, I tried to run installation for my generic Bluetooth adapter (using the driver [for non-TOSHIBA notebooks | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php?page=download]) then everything runs smoothly!

    * Using connection Bluetooth on this laptop is absolutely crucial for TI
I hope that I won't get back this beautiful laptop as I know that TOSHIBA is one of the best manufacturers and I am sure, that there is a solution to this problem.

    Thank you very much.

You can use the key combination FN + F8 to toggle WLAN?
You can also see BT symbol there?

Before you begin installation battery BT try to activate BT module by using the FN + F8 key combination.

Generally avoid some problem with it. Toshiba BT stack is tested on al models proposed by Toshiba and fireplace installation BT has, in my view, nothing to see what version of Win7 you use.

Do not return this laptop. It has to do is just install drivers, tools and utilities. Please note: BT stack is included in the recovery image so BT must work.

Also, I must say that OS installation of drivers, tools and utilities on Toshiba laptop must / should be installed in the correct order. Many tools can work only and must be installed on basic stuff that can be installed with other specific tools of Toshiba.

Please send a few comments if this FN + F8 will work.

  • Satellite U840T-103 - touch screen stopped working

    Hi, I have a Satellite, U840t-103.

The touch screen has stopped working earlier.
    I don't know why.

I think I have been juggling the project button, but I still can't get it to work again.

    Help, please.

    Hello

Touch screen don't need any special driver of Toshiba.
The driver is already part of Windows 8 / 8.1
That is why I don't think there is a software problem, but of course, I would recommend you to retrieve the computer laptop back to factory settings using the Toshiba recovery disc just to check if this procedure would allow the touchscreen feature once more.

This is a first common procedure in case something bad would happen to the laptop or the system.

But if the system recovery doesn't help, the laptop must be verified by the service provider allowed for possible hardware malfunction. But let's hope, the recovery procedure would solve your problem.

  • Updated by Satellite P750 win7 Win7 ultimate home

I just bought a Satellite P750 (I think 2R) and made the auto install and win 7 Home 64-bit edition has been installed. I use the laptop in a need to join their domain and working network environment. I bought windows 7 ultimate upgrade (64-bit) and I'd like to run it. Will it have upgraded drivers after installation is finished? If yes I would like to have only the downloaded and ready to go.

    > Will it have upgraded drivers after installation is finished?

If you just want to install the Windows 7 home Ultimate version, then you will not need to install the drivers and other software, once again because this upgrade only formats the HARD drive and installs a new copy of windows 7.
You upgrades the Win 7, which means that the data will always be available.

But if you do a clean install of Win 7 ultimate, then you will need to install the drivers and other things (tools and additional software)

Try to extract the exe from another place, not in the temp folder.
In my case, I created a folder on a second partition (D) and have extracted the exe file in this folder. Can go to the Device Manager, and then can install the driver through the Device Manager.
Choose the installation procedure advantage and point to the folder that contains the extracted files.

    With regard to the issue of the BT;
Download the new battery of BT from here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/

Then clean the registry using the CCleaner.
This tool is freeware and can be downloaded on several different pages.
So after cleaning check if you could install new BT of the register stack.

    Hallo,

I have a Satellite P750-10 t and im looking for a new HARD drive but I don't know what HARD drive I can take.
I found a disk for Satellite P770-12 t and I need to know if I can take it HARD too.

There is not much difference between these drives, maybe just ability but you can use it on your Satellite P750. As far as I know both of them are hard drives with SATA connector.

By the way: If you need a new HARD drive maybe you should think about upgrading with SSD. I can recommend you to do. use of SSD will increase the performance of your laptop and your computer laptop wil run a lot faster.

If you have time to look for info on the SSD on http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html
