Satellite Pro A100 PSAASE: error Power Saver and LAN? After downgrade to XP

Hello
I have a toshiba satellite pro A100-psaase!
I could not find this model on the toshiba site, so I chose the A100-psaas software.

The laptop came with windows vista. I have it downgraded to windows xp, has chosen the psaas model so that I can download the drivers.

I have 2 problems: the first is the eve of power software, it does not work. Start windows every time I get an error in the energy saver. I can not uninstall.

My second problem is, that a windows pop who found a network controller and I can't find any software or driver for it. So in Device Manager, an exclamation point on the icon of the network controller.

The funny thing is that I have internet and all.
I can't find a solution to these two problems
Thanks again

Hello

You have chosen the correct unit. The satellite Pro A100 PSAASE is the same model as PSAAS.
I put t know why the power gain error appears, but for most of these errors occur because the tools and utilities have been installed in the wrong order!
Seems that the installation instruction has been placed on the page of the driver Tosh! Read and follow the installation guide lines! Proper installation is important and necessary.

The LAN drivers are also published on the page! There are 2 different versions. Try them both!
The laptop supports a Lan Intel Ekron-R 82562GZ chip. Compatible drivers, you can also find on the Intel page!

Good day

    Hey,.

There is no Win XP Modem drivers on the Toshiba Page for this model, but I solved this problem by myself.

    Hello
After a week off, the Toshiba Satellite Pro A100-080 (PSAASE-00G004GR, 4 GB RAM) of my kids start not anymore.
When turn on/off the system, he * will beep 3 times * (one long, two short beeps), the HDisk light flashes 'blue' and then nothing more. A/c and battery power LED are 'blue', which seem to be OK status.
No other useful help, as the screen remains dark.

We had upgraded to 4 GB MEM (Kingston) a year ago and I already tried the old used 1 GB (included with purchase) or the replacement of 2 x 1 GB since December 2007, but equal status with these modules. This is not
    a defect of memory.

I hope that this is not the motherboard, probably only the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics included adapter?
Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

    Thx for a short help.

    Hello

Generally this type of beep codes are hardware related or with other words, hardware is defective. So I think it's a hardware problem and an ASP must check your laptop computer to identify the cause of this.

Is it possible to completely remove the utility, or can anyone suggest how to solve the problem. Any suggestions much appreciated.

    See you soon

It seems that there is no general solution for this problem.
I found some comments on the similar problem, and it seems that the Toshiba recovery CD installation will eliminate the error message.

But how did you install the entire operating system? Did you follow the installation instructions on the page of the Toshiba driver?
The order is very important and necessary if you want to install the Toshiba applications on your operating system.
I also discovered that the laptop uses Power saver power saver utility and driver.
I think you need to first install the driver and utility.

But everything should be described in the installation instructions

  • Satellite Pro A100 IO error - CD/DVD player-

    Hi all

My car does not start or read, all I get is an error of e/s.
She produced just out of the blue and after trying to fix it on my own I had to turn to my local computer dealer, but all he told me was to send my laptop in to Toshiba for a renovation, impossible to determine themselves what the problem was.

I saw on the net that the carpet * a player installed on this laptop isn't the most reliable on the market, with similar errors a bit, but unfortunately, there is not too much advice on how to correct this problem.

Is there anyone out there with a few aces up their sleeve, or the best thing just to get a new laptop?

    > fix it on my own
As I see that you are trying to fix it yourself and nobody don't we know what you did exactly.
I still don't know what you want to correct. Either player is working or not and that there must be a reason for it. This reason is known to you?

In any case, the assignment of pins is not the same for all readers, and if you use some with the wrong pin assignment you will get this error. So, if you want to fix this alternative to find and swap the drive with a compatible. Nobody says you have to use the same model.

In s manuals you can find a list with all compatible readers for your laptop model.
    Check it out.

  • Satellite Pro A100: Question about RAM upgrade and warranty

I just bought my machine and Ive decided to install some more ram. No one knows if it will affect my Gurentee. I can't find anything on the Web site on this topic. Should I get a Toshiba to install official repairman or something?
    Thank you

    Hello

Please check you user manual. Usually, the slot memory must be placed at the bottom of the unit. If you remove the cover, you should see the slots.
Usually memory upgrade procedure is described in the user manual so you can upgrade the memory yourself and the procedure of upgrading doesn t affect your warranty.
But please make sure you use the right modules.
However, you can also contact Toshiba for the upgrade of memory.

Hello. I've recently updated my satellite pro a100-828 to windows vista, and things work well to a large extent with two exceptions:

    2. the standby electricity utility is not available, which is good because of the power saver new vista. Except that I can't dim the screen, so the battery does not last me too long. How can I do this?

  • Satellite Pro A100 request BIOS password which was never put

    Hiya

Have had my Satellite Pro A100 for almost 2 years and that all this time have never even heard of a password system, but all of a sudden, I turned on the laptop this morning and it does not load. I tried pressing F12 (can't remember why, it seemed the thing to do to read the instructions at the bottom of the screen), but nothing happened so I just turned off the power. Put on again, he asked the system password. (A black screen with a blue box, with the old text base BACK type fonts).

I have no idea what it could be, I tried the word system and tried just pressing on enter without text in there but it says incorrect password. I removed the battery and left 10 hours but put it back in the machine there is no difference, it will not always go through this screen.

I am the only user on this machine, have no idea what caused it. I am aware of security, have installed on complete McAfee AV and did not have anything odd happen at all. Didn't last changes made to the configuration, no new software etc. so I have no idea what prompted it.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks in advance
    Rachel

This password seems to be a BIOS password, but I have no idea why this password is displayed if you have never defined it.
Unfortunately, there is not a lot to see the BIOS password can be removed without the help of an ASP.

Then, contact the service provider allowed in your country and request removal of the password.

I also recommend updating the BIOS after the technician removed the password.

Do you know how to find the ASP closest?

I really would apreciate if someone can help me solve this issue.

    > During a game for half an hour, the screen darkens and a second view later, I get a blue screen.
Well, my first thought is that this problem is related to the graphics driver.
I mean it could be a software problem.
But I know that a BSOD can also occur if the graphics card chip began to malfunction.
In your case I m not sure what could cause this problem. But to play a game, that the GPU is running with a maximum yield and produce a lot of heat. If the temperature rises to a higher level the GPU can also cause a BSOD.

Anyway, first of all, you must check if the graphics card driver update could solve this problem.
Maybe you could use a driver from other websites but please note that this is ONLY possible at your peril!

  • Should what type of Module I use for Satellite Pro A100

    Hello

    I have a Satellite Pro A100 (PSAASE-00G004GR) with + 1 GB of SAMSUNG DDR2 - 533 + already installed (+ 1 GB 2Rx8 PC2-4200 s-444-12-e3 +).

Now I want to upgrade the memory to 2 GB of RAM, adding an additional 1 GB of RAM, the problem is:

    * In the manual, it says that I have to stick to the following numbers of the module in case of upgrade of RAM which is for 1 GB: PA3411U-1M1G

In some other sections of the manual, it was mentioned I can use PC2-4200 or PC2-5300 on that laptop, not to mention no module number.

If {color: #ff0000} + _should I stick with this module number (1 GB PA3411U-1M1G) _ + {color} or simply choose any type PC2-4200 or PC2-5300 RAM available in the market?

Looking for additional help, THANKS ;)

    Hello

I recognize that the manual irritates statements. The true, it is that you can install any module market PC4200. So, you can also use the original Toshiba modules that are known to work in this machine.

Feel free to enter any market module, but I suggest you use kingston or corsair modules to ensure performance and full compatibility.

  • Satellite Pro A100 - flashing light battery and no start

    Hello

I was sitting watching a video with my daughter yesterday when five minutes in my Satellite Pro A100 suddenly stopped working - cut out completely and not be reactivated. When I tried to restart the orange lit battery eleven short blinks blinked, and nothing else has happened. The battery has been low for some time, so we always run the AC adapter. The adapter is currently connected, but there is no blue light charge as I expect.

With the battery removed do not get the flashes orange. With the battery and power adapter, I get the flashes orange.

I was wondering if the AC adapter was missing, and we do not have a "low battery" warning because we were watching a video. That would explain the lack of charge indicator. When we get the flashes orange, we get this from the small amount of residual charge of the battery.

Can anyone back this idea up - or anyone who can interpret the error code?

    Thank you

    Keith

    Hey Buddy,

This means that you are able to start your computer or battery or AC/DC adapter only, good point?

Well, theoretically it might be possible that AC/DC adapter is defective.
When you try to start your laptop, nothing happens, right?

In the best case, you know a friend who has the same AC/DC adapter, so you can test if the AC adapter is defective or not. Otherwise a professional diagnosis of an ASP would be necessary.

  • Satellite Pro A100 and load problems

    Hello everyone. New Member here.

Got a huge problem with my laptop. I have a satellite pro A100-830. Part number: PSAACE-00W002EN. About 2 years ago

I can run on the current system. But it will not work on battery. I just bought a new battery and it shows on the computer.
    I get indications are:

    battery charge amber lit.
    Light on power
Power meter indicates the battery charge. I connected new battery and it shows 47% and now 3 hours later its still 47%
If I unplug the power to the computer shuts down and will not work on battery.

the AC light seems to be slightly duller than the one next to him, if that makes sense.

Ive tried updating the BIOS etc but I'm ideas if im honest as im not a computer pro. I searched the internet but I can't find an answer

    Huge thanks in advance

    Stand by.
    We need more explanation here.

You have the same problem with the battery and you have bought one new in the hope that everything will be OK?
Have you noticed the same problem with the battery?
    You bought original Toshiba battery?

In my view BIOS update won't help you much. I think electronic power is responsible for this BIOS update ahs no influence on this.
