Satellite Pro L10-> I want to increase the memory

I have a Satellite Pro L10 and want to increase memory. The manual accompanying it refers to "Chapter 7, unfortunately there is no chapter 7, annex just."

Could you please tell me if I need specific to a type of memory card and also let me know what I need to do to install it because I've never done anything like this before.

Thank you very much in advance
Allan Robson

Hello

You must simply 200-pin PC2700 modules SODIMM (333 Mhz) DDR.
You can increase memory up to 1024MB. So, you can use modules of 2 x 512 MB max

You can also take a look at this page:

I hope it's interesting and useful

  • I want to increase the memory on the 2210CDS Satellite

I have an old Toshiba Satellite 2210CDS/6.0 I want to give to charity. Until I do, I wanted to increase the memory from 64 MB to 128 MB minimum, because he seems excessive paging of memory under Windows 98, it slows down a lot too.

The original 64 MB memory module is marked PC100-222-62, Toshiba p/n THLY6480H1FG-80. I ordered since equivalent barrettes memory 128 MB (PC100-222-620) from different sources. They fit well, but the memory is still limited to 64 MB, as evidenced by the page to configure the BIOS and Windows pages 'system '.
The computer has only one memory location. What I am doing wrong?

    Hello

This laptop is very, very, very ;) old

However, the laptop can be improved up to 160 MB. 64 MB internal memory + 128 MB additional memory module

The Toshiba recommend using these modules:
    128 MB - PA3005U
    64 MB - PA3004U

Usually after upgrading the BIOS should automatically recognize the module.

  • Satellite Pro L10 boot password is not the same as in HWSetup

I recently got a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro L10 by my employer. I entered a password and then confirm the password again in the configuration of HW from Toshiba in Control Panel of Windows XP. Then I clicked on the recommended option. No string or password was displayed in the box under Registered.

Since then, I was not able to boot up the laptop as the password that I entered Setup of HW is not recognized by the laptop started upward. I tried to type the password with caps lock, shift, and numlock on also. Are there any bugs or fault with defining a password for starting in the HW configuration utility? If there is a fault or a bug I would have preferred that the portable computer password is removed under the guarantee.

If I have to pay a Service partner.

    Hi Geoff

On this path, it is not easy to tell what's going on exactly, but I assume that your employer has implemented BIOS password. You can enter the BIOS settings by using the F2 key at startup?

The BIOS password removal is not part of the guarantee and it must be paid. In my opinion, you must bring the laptop to your employer. He probably has Admin rights and it can set up passwords on the right track.

  • Satellite Pro 4600: I want to upgarde the RAM

I want to upgarde the RAM on my satellite pro 4600. It currently has 128 MB of RAM.
Anyone know what kind of memory card should I buy and how to install it?
    Should what size I go?
I've been in the PC World and they weren't much help.
Any ideas / information gratefully received.
    See you soon,.
    Bob.

    Hi Bob,

The following link will take you to a page containing all relevant information on memeory upgrades for your 4600 (including part numbers.

    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5778&ft=m&St=3

I think that your device has two memory slots, and I assume that you currently have a home in use with 128 MB of RAM installed (the 4600 had 64 MB or 128 MB).

RAM modules are available in sizes 64 MB, 128 MB and 256 MB.

The maximum that you can install is 512 MB (i.e. 2 X 256 MB modules. The amount that you need will depend greatly on what applications run you as well as what operating system, but the usual recommendation is a minimum of 512 MB for windows XP (at least for the earlier OS).

The RAM modules are normally accessed from the bottom of the unit. Normally, there is a cover with 2 or more screws. Check you manual for the exact location on your device.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro U400-11V: possible to increase the 60 Hz screen refresh rate

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-11v.
I just realized that my screen refresh rate is 60 Hz (resolution 1280 x 800).
Even I decrease the resolution. It won t be another option 60 Hertz.
Is it possible to increase it?
My monitor is indicated under the generic name of the PnP in the system.

You cannot increase the internal laptop display refresh rate and it of not necessary to go higher, because all the internal laptop screens are running at 60 Hz.
If you would like to connect an external monitor, you will probably see higher available for the external monitor refresh rates.

  • Satellite Pro A60 - I want to upgrade the RAM

I bought a second hand Pro A60 and would like to increase its memory. I never have, so I need a little guidance. First of all, the system tells me that I have 2 x 250 MB of RAM. I understand that these are not removable, but I could add a 1 GB extra to give me the max of 1.5 GB.

I think that the locations of memory are in B4, but when I open it I do not see an obvious empty slot. I guess what I see are among the 250 MB, but nothing else.

Offers of additional State of RAM installation is simple, but a free slot is not obvious.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

On this laptop, just a slot is placed at the bottom. Turn off and let us know what capacity has this RAM module. You can buy new with more capacity and put it in this slot.
A RAM is probably under the keyboard. Remove the RAM from the bottom and start your laptop. check the amount of RAM is recognized.

If mobile shows 256 MB then you can add a RAM in low 1024 MB PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G) and you will have approximately 1280MB what is the max RAM this laptop to handle with.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - I want to upgrade the RAM

    Hello

I'm looking to upgrade the RAM in my Satellite Pro A120 Model No.: PSAC1E-05C00VEN

I'm getting conflicting reports as to how this can actually take, some sites say a 1 GB maximum per slot max so 2 GB while most of the others say max 2 GB per slot

I was hoping you could advise me.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    Hello!

Your Satellite Pro A120 is equipped with the Intel 945 GM chipset and so you can upgrade it to 4 GB of RAM.
Only models with ATI chipset can be upgraded to 2 GB and I think this is the reason why some sites say that it can be upgraded to 2 GB and others at 4 GB.

However, for the upgrade of RAM DDR2-RAM PC2-5300 (DDR2-677). You can buy 2 GB modules for a maximum of 4 GB.
But don t forget that only a 64 bit OS supports 4 GB of RAM.

    Good bye

  • Lost drivers for Satellite Pro L10 etc - where to get the software?

I had to reinstall windows xp on my Satellite Pro and have managed to install drivers etc for evrything but the WiFi. Device Manager displays an error of the pilot against Ethernet controller and although the Wifi light is on it does not appear anywhere even in the taskbar.

Where and what software do I need to download it please?

    Hello

On the Toshiba driver page, you will find all the drivers!
I checked the page and found different utilities Wireless LAN!
Please check you card making WLan. Especially the Wlan type has been mentioned on the label at the bottom of the unit.

I think that the correct driver is the key!

  • Satellite Pro L10 won't boot to the top

I am a L10 for a friend, at the moment when the cd and turn it on, the snoring of fan upward, the disk hard led flashes several times climb the towers, but nothing beyond what is happening. The display shows life, no beeps comes off it is just here doing nothing with the power light on and whirring of the fan.

So far I tried to connect a monitor to the vga no signal of the port. Put a linux boot cd in the drive, it runs and sounds like its access but I don't think that his startup, the screen is certainly not, and the hard drive is silent. Finally I tried to take the battery out and running of the network. It doesn't change anything.

So for the moment I can not any diagnosis and I have no idea what could be wrong with him, anyone have any ideas?

    Hello

As you have described it of very difficult to say what's wrong.
It seems like it might really be something wrong with the hardware because you can not see the home screen Toshiba at the beginning of the initialization.

I put t don't know if this helps but try to remove the battery to form several times unplug and wait 30 min power (can t tell the time exactly) try to reinsert the battery and connect to the mains. Try to start again.

If it doesn't help I guess you will need additional assistance of a technician.

  • Satellite A300-274 - I want to increase the RAM on the video card

I would like to increase the capacity of my video card.
I have a toshiba A300-274 co 4 GB of ram.

    Hello

Your laptop uses 4 GB of RAM?
Well, usually the graphics card chip supports memory video dedicated and shared system memory.
The sum of dedicated video memory and shared system memory is the total video memory.
The shared system memory depends on main memory.
In your case it s 4 GB of RAM.

The laptop seems to supports 4 GB RAM max and this means that the shared system memory can not be higher it s already on the highest level.

In addition, you should know that you cannot assign all values manually everything runs automatically and is controlled by the graphics driver.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro L50 - a: how to replace the memory, HARD drive and battery

I just uploaded 2 new video from Youtube on the L50 - A. Satellite Pro

The first is a tear down showing how to replace the memory, hard drive and battery (you can also clean the fan if it detects overheating).

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=IG0lW7t92bI

BTW why they made it so difficult to get just to the battery in this model?

WARNING - proceed at your own risk and don't forget static precautions!

Hope they help and if you have any questions let me know.

+ The message was edited: link has been removed ad channel may not +.

Thanks for these videos. It may be useful to replace the memory, but I think that the owners of the laptop should not open the case. This may void the warranty.
    Be careful about this.

  • Satellite Pro L10: CMOS clock stops when the OS is not running

    Hello

We know a reason why the cmos clock would stop when the operating system does not (phone off), the laptop is 18 months old, I've updated the bios tries to give him a good boost, but no effect, he was also in charge for 24 hours.
    Any advice would be great.

    See you soon
    Paul

    Hello

Usually if the BIOS date/time is wrong and always changes, the RTC battery which is mounted on the motherboard fails.
In this case the CMOS battery needs to be changed or maybe only removed for awhile

If your laptop is 18 months, the guarantee must be valid.
Generally if you have registered on the page of Toshiba notebook the warranty covers all repairs for about 2 years (24 months).

In this case, I would recommend contacting ASP in your country, because the technician must be able to solve this problem very easily.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro 4200 recognize RAM only in the B slot

I have recently got a Satellite Pro 4200 and want to increase the memory up to 320 MB.
To start I bought a 128 MB module and have found that with a 64 MB module in a slot and the 128 MB in the other system only recognizes the module into the connector B.

Must the modules in the two slots be the same value for the system to recognize them? i.e. the 128 MB or two 64 MB.
If this is the case its OK but if it's not I don't want to buy another 128 MB module, if the location is unservicable.

    Thank you
    Billabilla.

    Hello

Wow Sat Pro 42000 is an oldie I didn t think someone using this mobile in the future, I mean it's a great laptop but the performance he is too weak to be present-days.
As far as I know the Satellite Pro 4200 was equipped with Mobile Intel Celeron 500 Mhz or with an Intel Pentium III 450 Mhz / 500 Mhz.

Pentium 450 Mhz CPU equipped units can be improved up to 320 MB. All other units can be upgraded up to 576 MB.

I think that the 64 MB module should not be removed!
You must use 64 MB + 128 MB or 256 MB or 512 MB (only for models with 500 Mhz processor).

    Hope this helps you

  • Max Memory for Satellite Pro L10

What is the maximum amount of memory that can be installed in Satellite Pro L10? When I bought the laptop in 2005, it was 1 GB. This limit is now higher with the new BIOS, released November 6, 2009?

Satellite Pro L10 (PSL15E) can manage with only 1 GB of RAM.
BIOS update has nothing to do with it and after the update of the BIOS, that this value will not be changed.

  • Satellite Pro L10: Question about saving the files on a CD

Please can someone tell me how I can save a typed document (produced in Word or similar) on the CD? I don't have a floppy drive on my satellite pro L10 portable. Have 'saved' music using the immediate recording before, but now need to record your actual work on the hard disk for transport to a pc with access to a printer.

When I tried it told me incorrect function, contact administrator (that's me!) I tried CD - R and CD - RW discs and neither would not let me save the file on it. would be grateful for any advice regarding this.

    Thank you

    Hi Roy,

First of all, you will ned to ensure that you have enabled logging on oprical drive you. For this a right-click on the CD-ROM in my computer icon and then selecting "properties-> recording. Make sure that "Enable CD writing on this drive" is checked.

Once you have done the above, you can simply drag the documents that you want to copy on the CD-ROM icon in my computer.

Note that the burning process does not happen immediately. Windows caches the files to be placed on your hard drive first and then you can burn all documents cached only once.

Alternatively, you may find that some third-party software has been bundled with your portable computer, which performs a similar function the standard Windows CD burn software.

    Kind regards
