Satellite Pro P300 - connection to a digital TV

What cable do I connect my laptop to a digital TV, so I can watch my movies on the TV.
This laptop doesn't have a dedicated HDMI port like most modern laptops seem to have. (Even if it is only 2 years)...

Thanks if you can answer

Hello

Each laptop manufacturer offers models and series of portable different. Each of these models are available with a different hardware configuration and also have different specifications.
This is the reason for different prices.

Some people don t need most of the available stuff but want to have certain model of laptop. So they buy the model specific ports less or less material powerful and pay much less.
So, you don't have to wonder why HDMI port is missing.

It is the same with cars and additional packages that you can order. Base price of comparison with all the options and you will see that the price difference is sometimes very large. It is the same with laptops.
This is not unusual and quite normal marketing strategy.

Back to your question:
I can't help you because I know who don't P300-xxx you have exactly and what video output ports are available.

Please send more info on your laptop.

When he finds, connects ok, but sometimes it is impossible to browse web pages - just behave as if there is no connection.

Bit torrent works also very slowly (in general 0.5Mbit / s depending on the number of peers etc.). Not a port forwarding issue with the router - using utorrent that indicates that the relevant port is open.

    Hello

You should first check if your BIOS is up to date.
If an older version of BIOS is installed then you could update the BIOS.

It is also advisable to update the installed WLan driver.
Here, you can check the available WLan drivers:

  • Satellite Pro P300 - 23L - horizontal lines on the taskbar

    I have a portable Satellite Pro P300 - 23L.
Last night it suddenly appeared, about 30 horizontal thin white lines on the taskbar (actually on the bottom half inch of the screen).
The top 3 or 4 of these lines seem to pulse in a fast and regular way.

Now, I can barely see the icons in the taskbar, or the button to start in the lower left corner.

I read on another forum that the problem may be due to a problem of "grounding".
The charger plug is actually broken and repaired the wiring myself, but that some time previously, so it is possible that a connection is loose or is now was something shorting causing this effect.

I had to order a new charger but in the meantime would appreciate any assistance in order to confirm or deny that this could be the problem.

Any advice on how to remedy this?

    Hello

If the problem would be with the power adapter this lines should NOT be visible using the laptop with the battery. Right?
Therefore, it would be really interesting to know if the same lines are visible if the AC adapter is not plugged in.

But I think that this is unrelated to the power adapter. In my opinion its a display issue or a graphics card problem.
Therefore, you must connect an external monitor to check it out.
If the same lines are visible on the external monitor, the graphics chip is assigned the case, it could be a display problem.

  • Satellite Pro P300 just died on me

    Hello

Yesterday my Satellite Pro P300 (PSPC1E) died just the'm... no battery charging lights nothing. Nothing happens when I press the power button it is DEAD.
The battery was ok last time used, the adapter is still give me almost 20volts.

I took the laptop goes to check the DC in connector, it's ok.
I guess that, after some research, it is a fault of the motherboard. In general my warranty missed 2 months ago!
A new motherboard replacement so far here quoted costs £180, not too eager to pass that as I have a tax account at the end of this month!

Any ideas of what could be the problem?
I found a mobo on eBay which is a course of p300-1 to 8 for a song, but which would be compatible?
What are all the variations in motherboards?
Any other motherboard would be compatible?

All ideas, suggestions would be much appreciated, and I thank everyone in advance for ideas.
    See you soon
    Steve

I think motherboard is dead too. My brother had a similar issue when he wanted to connect the external HARD drive.
Simply, there is an electro shock and from that moment the cell phone was dead. No reaction at all. Drive external HARD even was dead and it smells like burned plastic.

Anyway, if you want to have the same hardware, you can buy identical mainborad of a PSPC1E model.

Otherwise, no idea how much it would cost for a replacement?

Secondly, I switch to a different keyboard layout.
Anyone know where I can find a Belgian AZERTY keyboard for this laptop?

    Thanks x

    > First of all and above all, I suspect that the backlight may have gone in my laptop screen.
    > If, for example, it's just something simple like a loose connection, this is an easy fix

Hmm. Maybe it's s inverter a FL. The FL inverter is a small part that controls the screen backlight
Generally disassembly laptop procedure is very delicate and looks like you've never disassembled the laptop so I would not recommend to do anything which could damage the other parts get in touch with a local ASP and ask for help.
Usually the FL inverter should not be expensive pieces but I have no idea on costs

    > Does anyone know where I can find a Belgian AZERTY keyboard for this laptop?
and once again all spare parts can be ordered from local ASP.

  • Satellite Pro P300 - output HDMI port does not

    Hi all

Well it starts to drive me to distraction and Im hoping that theres someone who can put me out of my missery lol.

I tried to connect my laptop (toshiba satellite pro p300) up to my LCD TV via the same HDMI cable that I use for my PS3 but the connector does not simply. I keep finding all these messages in various forums saying how they can't get the HDMI connection... that would be great, at least, this means that they were connected.

Are there different links for the HDMI? The one I have is diagonal connector but the port on the laptop is more square and just doesn't fit. So, if it is not a connector, does that mean I have a funky port on the laptop.

There is also the issue of connecting my laptop to my amp which controls the surround sound system. Which link is best to use, as there is no real connections audio output?

    See you soon

    Hello

Can you please tell us what Satellite Pro P300 you have exactly? I mean the exact model number.
Maybe you can also post a picture of the HDMI port. Normally there is no different HDMI port, all have the same physical size.
I m PS3 not owner, but maybe he has a special connector. Have you tried another cable?

Regarding the audio connection I use the normal line of output port to my external speakers. Have you tested this?

  • Re: Microphone completely after installing XP on Satellite Pro P300

My father bought a Satellite Pro P300 that I went down to Windows XP by using the included CD/DVD.
Later, we found that the internal microphone is very quiet when we tried to use it.
We need to yell into the microphone to get any sound at all, more like sounds random blip. Type the microphone sounds more scratch.

All other sound effects are great. speakers work fine. We connected an external microphone to the mine in the laptop and video calls worked without problem, the problem is only with the internal mic.
I saw that someone else has the same problem in the forum (link: [http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=33844&tstart=0]), but it does not say how or if this problem has been resolved.

I would really appreciate if someone could give me the fix or a link to the fix to our problem other than plug in an external microphone.

    Hello

Windows XP supports a microphone amplifier. Have you enabled it?

Go to control panel-> Audio & Sound Devices-> advance tab press Volume button

    Optionally, select advanced controls

Then you should see the volume of the microphone. Please set it to a higher value.
In addition, press the advanced under the microphone button.

Here, you can mark the micro amp.

  • Satellite Pro P300-1EC - cannot get wireless to work

    Hello!

First of all. Excuse me for my English!

    TEC Spec.

    Toshiba Satellite Pro P300-1EC
    Intel WiFi Link 5100
    Windows XP Pro SP3

I have a big problem. I can't get the wireless LAN working properly.
And the customer has purchased this computer because his old computer stopped working with WLAN...

I tried everything I can. And I am a person of educated tech, so I think I should have the knowledge of this, but I do not have.

    Short version.

    1. install the latest drivers. (Also tried more aged)
    2 restart the computer.
3 WNIC takes about 10 min to find WLAN.
    4. While working perfect with 130Mbps on project N.
5.i can user logout and change and all.
    6. when I restart I'm back at number 3.

    Long version:

I installed XP pro since the XP downgrade Cd included and wireless drivers wasn't on that CD so I downloaded them. (And Yes. "This is the correct drivers.)
After that I installed the driver and restart my computer, I could not find wireless networks. Kind of weird because I have 4 routers/points of WLAN on my company with the range 60-100% and about 3 other public routers without security. I tried to update the drivers to windows update, and WU has found an update for me. I installed driver and the wireless highlight function. I scream YES and restart the computer. Then it stopped working. N° !!!
I was a little tired on the problem and began installing some other computers that I bought and when I looked the Toshiba computer that I saw that it was connected to my WLAN. Weird, but I thought it worked then I restart the computer again and then his does not work... again! Now, I have analyzedthe problem and it's like that.

When I start the computer the my WNIC does not any WLAN.
About 10 min (10m32s) after starting the wireless started working.
I am able to disconnect and change the user and it still works, but as soon as I restart the computer it stops and I have to wait another 10 minutes. And so on.

Anyone been trough something like this even if it is not not toshiba or my model?

    Hello

What is the Satellite Pro P300 - 1EC BIOS is up-to-date?
    Please check everything first.

You said you are using Draft N did you tried to establish the WiFi connection using other standard WLan as 802.11 A or G?

I also recommend changing the WiFi channel and try other channels.

In addition, you can change a WLan option that affects the WLan functionality. You can find these settings in the Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab

    Hello!

Have you disabled the firewall on the XP computer?
Maybe a 3rd party security software is blocking it.

Check the registry and go to:

In this case don't Scream no entry with the name of Hide.
If you have such an entry, delete it.

  • Satellite Pro P300: external resolution 1024 x 768 instead of 1680 x 1050

    Hello

I run my Sat P300 on XP and this laptop screen is fine (1440 x 900 pixels on radeon HD 3650).

Now, I want to connect the laptop to an external monitor flat screen, a Samsung, which requires an optimum resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels.
The samsung monitor works fine on my laptop more old: I close the lid of the laptop and the screen changes to the Samsung with good resolution of 1680 x 1050.

Now, when I connect the P300 and close the lid, the screen switches to the Samsung, but the actual screen resolution is 1024 x 768, despite the fact that the 1680 x 1050 is set in the display properties windows.
In fact, the screen is probably 1680 x 1050, but sees only the monitor 1024 x 768 (i.e. the desktop is bigger than the monitor can show, and I can push the office left/right or up/down with the mouse.

So it appears (Hey, it's just a guess) that the radeon sends a screen 1680 x 1050 with the wrong frequency (48.2 KHz instead of 64.4 KHz as my monitor watch)!

The Samsung drivers are installed, and I've updated the BIOS to 3.40 win, but not a solution.

Someone at - it an idea?

    Hello!

Have you checked the manual of the Satellite Pro P300?
I think you should do this because there you can read why the screen resolution of 1680 x 1050 doesn t work.

The Satellite Pro P300 supports the following screen resolutions:
    800 x 600
    1024 x 768
    1280 x 800
    1280 x 1024
    1600 x 1200
    1920 x 1440
    2048 x 1536

Do you not see where is the problem? ;)

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro P300-1FP: need drivers Windows XP

    HI -.

just bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro P300-1FP.

Came with Vista installed. I would like to use XP instead.

The aircraft crashed the first time I tried to install XP.
I looked online and found that I needed to change the BIOS settings to work around this (SATA, "AHCI" to "compatibility").

This and that the installation worked fine, but there are a lot of missing drivers, for example for the sounds, graphics, ethernet, wi - fi, etc..
This leaves me in a difficult position since I am currently unable to connect to the internet to look for the missing drivers missing drivers.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thank you very much

    Alan.

OK buddy, I want to help you

First of all he must know that your Satellite Pro P300-1FP belongs to the series of PSPC9E
You can find the Win XP drivers for this series on the European driver Toshiba page.

Everything has been published. Just download it

  • Satellite Pro P300 - impossible to activate the built-in microphone

I bought a Satellite Pro P300 some 2 months and so far so good.

It has a webcam which I really thought that I would have any use for it but now find that I have.

The camera works fine but I cannot activate the built-in microphone.

Can someone point me in the right direction please

    Hello

You will need to start the webcam software if you want to use the internal microphone too.
The point is that the internal MIC is connected with the internal webcam and webcam software handles both devices.
Also check if the internal mic has been correctly enabled in the webcamsoftware

In addition, I would recommend updating the audio driver.

    Best regards

Which firewire connection my Satellite Pro P300-19 q did?
I hope that this goes up to 800mbps (IEEE 1394 b) so I can use a powerful Firewire Soundcard for Audio recording of high quality.

The only specs State he has IEEE 1394, but not the State is there, B, C or D

    IEEE 1394 - Firewire 400

    * Speed: 400Mbps
    * Cable length: 4.5 m

    IEEE 1394b - Firewire 800

    * Flow rate: 800Mbps
    * Maximum cable length: 100 m

  • Satellite Pro P300 - BIOS upgrade to 64 - bit

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro P300 - 266 PSPCDE and I am very happy with him.

Since I have a WIN7 64 bit OS, ready to use and 8 GB of RAM I need to update the BIOS to 64-bit.

I found a WinPhlash file on the support site of Toshiba (toshiba - tro.de) bios called - 20090226124829.zip. I tried to use it as described in the Toshiba support on the use of WinPhlash (http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9502M10000R01.htm) page. Also, I made an exception for WinPhlash in the registry of the DEP.

    It still does not work.

Since I am a user knowing very mediocre modern computers I guess I'm doing something wrong or I can be monitor something... can anyone please help me upgrade my system to its full capabilities?

    Thank you

You don't need to upgrade BIOS. If everything works well don t change anything.
I have Satellite P300 with preinstalled Win7 32 bit and works perfectly.
