Satellite R830 Intermittent Hang up / gel with high-speed fan

Hello

I was faced with similar problem described in the links below:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=66071
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0C032L0000R01.htm

I use Windows 7 64-bit. I tried to update my BIOS and fingerprint driver but still not solved the problem.

Can anyone propose anything.
Really appreciate any help.

Hello

Try to uninstall this software of fingerprint from the Device Manager and of the Panel-> software.
Then restart the laptop and clean the registry with CCleaner FRO free tool downloadable from its freeware software.

Then restart again, go to the BIOS, set it to the default settings by pressing F9 and save the changes before you access the BIOS.

Then start the system and test the behavior of the laptop.

This also happens on Windows XP 32-bit (Win 7 is a 64-Bit system) and each time with high rotation FAN, the solution written in the KB does not help because after uninstalling the fingerprint software, it still looks!

But we also have Tecra M9 machines where Windows XP and Windows 7 are running without this problem, a suggestion how to avoid this freezes?

    Hey,.

All laptops have the same hardware configuration, or is it different?

I think that sounds like a hardware malfunction, so an authorized service provider can help you get rid of this.

Have you ever tried an update of the BIOS and load default settings?

  • Portege Z30 16 GB with high speed Port Replicator III and two monitors - resolution

I have a Portege Z30 with 16 GB of Ram, connected to a Toshiba high speed Port Replicator III which is connected to two monitors running in mode extended.

The monitor attached to the first section of the video is 1920 x 1200 running.
However the second monitor is only show support for a maximum of 1280 x 1084.

The monitors are identical, and both are connected by DisplayPort cables.

I tried to lower the resolution and save the settings on the first monitor to see if it offered options on the second monitor, but the options remained the same.

At this point, I have narrowed down to 1280 x 1024 so that it conforms to all the monitors but would like to a plus-res solution.

Does anyone know if there is a fix/work-around for this?
If this is a hardware limitation, has anyone tried a USB 3 to DisplayPort adapter in a similar configuration?

    Thank you!

At the same time using two displayports?
I wonder how it is possible, because of my knowledge it is not possible... as far as I know the Port Replicator III supports two DisplayPorts but you could choose and use one of them...

In any case, you can use both with a lower resolution, I guess that this problem can be caused due to incompatible display drivers.
I suggest you to uninstall reinstall or update the display drivers and check if it helps

    Hello
It seems to me that the SATELLITE A60-197ITA USB ports aren't really high speed. They are very slow!
Some diagnose program says that the BIOS supports USB Legacy...

    What is the problem?
What can I do to have the best performance?

    Hello

I put t know what external device you use, but in my view it is also the external device power function.

Legacy support can be enabled in the HW of Toshiba installation tool. You can find it under control panel.

  • Portege R700-184 freezes + high speed fan

    Hi all

I am a happy owner of a unused R700, bought in conditions under renovation.
But as far as I can see, it has not been used since around 2011, and judging by the box was stored in a warehouse and was used.

I installed Windows 7 64 bit I need to use large amounts of RAM in programs such as Photoshop and Sibelius

However before I did upgrades its been hanging about once a day and the fan speed increases up and stops.

The first two times, he was just sitting idle and the fan went crazy and it had frozen.
I have looked everywhere and downloaded the drivers for the fingerprint reader.

However, he began to do coming from sleep and Hibernate sometimes
I was wondering if someone would care to shed some light on how to solve all of these problems,

I love the style and the laptop and really looking forward to getting aid to the University, only it's a bit annoying when it freezes.

    The specifications are:

    i5 560M
    8 GB Ram
    HARD DRIVE 320 GB

    Best wishes

It seems that this is caused by the finger printing software and it s highly recommend to update your
Toshiba Fingerprint Software and INTEL ME Firmware

Personally, I don t use the fingerprint and disabled this device in the Device Manager.

PS: in case there is a more recent BIOS for this device, try to update the BIOS as well.

  • Satellite A210-SP6812 hangs after hibernation with a Wi - Fi connected

I have a Satellite A210-SP6812 running with win XP SP3, and when I turn into suspend mode and later he attends the hibernation (I have the choice in Toshiba energy saving) it will, but after that you will wake up never the system again unless you reset the laptop.

It is important to note that this only happens when the WiFi is enabled (Realtek RTL 8187 (B). I'm updating this driver but nothing works. Once it happened when the laptop was inside my bag and despite the hibernate after the suspension, he hooked up with all coolers & heat inside was amazing.
An idea of the cause of it?

    Thanks for your support!

    Leo

Have you updated the BIOS? Perhaps the problem will be solved.

If it isn't, then it might be another problem in Windows. Maybe a 3rd driver is causing a conflict. Recovery time should solve the problem.

  • Satellite P100-374 has black screen with high temperatures

    Hello

    I have a problem.
My screen is black, but when I connect and external monitor I can watch my external monitor. Also, my GPU temperature is 120 ° c. I think it's verry high and not normal.

Here is someone who knows what is the problem?

    Thank you

    Mathias

PS (sorry for my bad English :$)

    Just a comment;
As far as I know that it is not the GPU temperature sensors and so I m not 100% sure if your GPU temp value is right.
Anyway, if you can see everything on the second monitor then it s certainly not a GPU problem!

  • detection with high speed HAVE changes at high speed

I'm working on a helmet testrig. We use the card M PCI-6251. An accelerometer 3 axes is set inside the helmet and its fall of variable height up to 3 m. During his fall, I need to gain entrance to the analog accelerometer (sampling > = 100 kHz) and also to find the speed with which he hits the bottom.

How I find the speed is two sensors spaced apart at the bottom of 4cm. When the helmet Assembly passes through the sensors, they become high momentarily and my DI me should get the corresponding time.

It's my problem and also very important part of the program. The data are acquired, for approx. 2 seconds. One entered analog from 3-channel sample rate > = 100 kHz, the second is a digital entry of these digital sensors (two proximity sensors) within 10msec helmet Assembly passes one sensor to another. I can't detect the moment when the sensors go high.

My first test was (fig Acq1) just a spot of digital input to the application. (flags should make sure I have time only once for each sensor). It always gives me the time 16msec difference, 32msec, or 0 for any speed.

My second try was the method of change detection (follow-up of the programs posted on the forum). This also seems to sense only, 0msec, 15msec or 31msec only. This is not true since heights higher than the helmet fell, it is faster, and for these the time difference between two sensors that it gives is zero.

The way I implemented change detection is, I just get of an hour for the first detection of change and second change detection only, where the structure case inside the structure of the event.

is there else a better way to do it?

    Thank you very much.

    Patricia

I see no reason why you would need external clock.  The PCI-6251 card has an internal clock.

I look through the viewfinder of the example for DAQmx examples using analog and digital inputs.  I think that might work for you is Multi-multifunction-read AI Synch Dig Chan.vi

  • Satellite R830 - support Sata III for SSD drives

    Hello

Why Toshiba Satellite R830 does not support Sata III, although the plug to motherboard. indicate that it is possible?

So you can not significantly increase the performance of your laptop by replacing the HARD drive with disk SSD Sata III. Is it possible to activate the Sata III (6 Mbps) on R830?

All the system settings? It's also kind of bios update request necessary support SSD and SATA III...

    Any help is appreciated! :)

    > It shows that SATA III is supported, but when you install the SSD SATA III disc it does not work with higher speeds to ~ 250 MB/s (cases Crucial M4).

From my own experience many SSD readers need a updated firmware that is provided by the manufacturers of SSD drives.

But readers in the R830 SSD seems to support these specifications:
    Host interface: Max 300 MB/s
Reading data supported: Max 250 MB/s
Writing data supported: Max 160 MB/s

By the way: the R830 supports a Mobile Intel HM65 Express Chipset and the chipset supports the storage interface high speed supports up to 6 Gb/s transfer rate for improved data access. Provides up to 6 SATA ports, 3 Gb/s with up to 2 ports support 6 Gb/s transfer rate.

  • HP Compaq DC7800p Convertible: Fan never works at high speed

Well Hello hp. My question is that I have the hp compaq dc7800p with intel q35 chipset. I also have the intel core 2 duo e6750, who comes to 66 without high-speed fan spining. I checked, the site of intel, that it is said that Tcase is 72 C I also have the problem with the chipset, there too big temperatures when you play. It goes up to 80 C. What I would do. Should I change cpu fan or don't start high speed at 70 ° C and for the chipset how cool up to at least 60 C, I have the normal aluminum without cooler chipset. I play the games are battlefield 3 and 4 and yesterday my pc freezes, and when I rebooted funs went at full speed, but nothing showed on the screen for 5 minutes, is now well, fortunately, but I all wory to much.

    Temperatures look ok so far.

-In addition to being very energy efficient - Core2Duo processors have built-in thermal protection.

If ever they come to high temperature, the frequency is decreased. If temperatures reach critical CPU turns off.

Chipsets get usually a little hot under load.

80 ° C is still about 25 degrees below criticism.

    What graphics card you have?

As far as I know, feeding in these machines has only about 360 watts, which is not enough for some high power graphics cards. It is most likely the reason why your PC freezes. Video games cards consume not only a few watts, they also generate a huge amount of heat under load.

Anyway, there are two things you can do:

First, go to the HP Support and get the dc 7800 manual.

Uninstall the CPU cooler and apply new thermal paste (don't forget to clean the old one).

Then, increase the speed of the fan slowed down in BIOS F10 for better air circulation.

  • Internal Bay wiring HP z800 does support higher speeds?

    Hello

I'm interested if internal Bay wiring HP z800 supports higher speeds - 12 Gbit/s and 6 Gbps?

Or should I use berries 5.25 "to mount and connect directly to the controller SAS 12Gbps with data speed has approved longer cables?

    Thanks for the reply

HDD Bay Z800 wiring was not validated to 6 Gbit/s or 12 Gbps speeds for SATA or SAS drives.  The higher speed drives were 3 Gbps when the Z800 was released.

It is better to use the berries, 5.25 "and connect the readers directly to the SAS 12 Gbps controller with high speed cables.  6 Gbps PEUT work with internal wiring, but 12 Gbit/s is too high.  Higher approved data cables speed superior to 6 Gbit/s and 12 Gbps avoids any problem.

  • Satellite R830 random freeze with no way to take back control - full fan speed

    Hello
I've been Googling autour for a bit now, looking for a solution to what could be a hardware problem.

Randomly my Satellite R830 suddenly freezes and the speed of the fan running at full speed. It's actually a useful way to be immediately aware that my computer crashed. Everything is frozen, the only way out is to force via the power button.

I hit the same description on several Web site for different models of Toshiba, return of 2009. It seems that the problem is still there! I also read testimonials from this problem for Windows and Linux OS. I use a Debian Squeeze, which does not detect the newspaper when the accident occurred.

Sometimes it can be fine for a week, but recently, the computer freeze at least once a day, which is not acceptable for a new laptop.

I am really getting concerned if something will be done soon, or if I should ask for an Exchange and pray to be spared. I use my laptop on a daily basis for professional use, and so I would definitely prefer another solution. I have been waiting for 4 months now and just update my BIOS 3 days ago from Web site of Toshiba with no noticeable improvement. the computer crashed 4 times in the last 2 days.

If someone managed to overcome this problem, I would be very grateful for the tip!

    Hello

A question: do you have a fingerprint reader?

I got this Toshiba document that describes a problem similar to yours.
This problem can be caused by old fingerprint software you need to update this software where you have a fingerprint reader.

  • High level electromagnetic Satellite R830 show

I wonder if some users have never measured the residual electromagnetic field on the keyboard of the laptop Toshiba satellite R830.

If the laptop is connected to the battery charger the residual electromagnetic field is about 10-12 volts/meter! This value is very high and can be dangerous for hands and skin in general.

I did this test, because all the time I answer the phone and the laptop was near the phone and connected to the battery charger, I hear a noise in telephone communication.
I decided to measure the electric field with an appropriate field meter and the result was about 10 V/m.

I'm very worried about it. Can you please tell me if you have any news on this issue?
I also invite you to one of the Toshiba EMI staff in the discussion.

    Thank you very much

  • Satellite R830-1GZ - CPU usage high (> 25%) and increase in the speed of the fan after reactivation

    Hi all

The CPU usage of my laptop shoots upward to 25% (and beyond) and increases in fan speed considerably after waking up, but only when I use an external mouse (Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000) - disconnect the mouse once it happened does not solve the problem, so I always have to restart my computer if I let go sleep with the connected mouse.

I noticed that when this produces the system interrupts - delayed appeals procedure and Interrupt Service routine appears in the resource monitor > CPU > process and seems to explain the increase in the use of the processor.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be most appreciated.

I use a Toshiba Satellite R830 1GZ with Windows 7 (64-bit). This problem will not occur when I use the same mouse with another laptop (Dell with Windows XP).

    Thank you very much.

I think that the process that controls the mouse MS WLan does not close properly.
The system to memorize it and therefore the cooling module begins to spin faster because these processes stressed the central unit.

Maybe its caused by the mouse driver
Have you checked if there is an update to the driver?
