Satellite U940-117 / how default partition recovery

Hi all, (sorry for my language because I'm french)

I have a Satellite U940-117, and after an error, I delete all the partition on my PC.

Is there a. iso that allows the computer reinstall the factory?

Kind regards.

N ° if you create USB recovery you have the problem. With other words, you must order a Toshiba recovery media.

Recovery image can not be downloaded.

I need to try to do a restore system on my Satellite U400-146.
However, I don't think it came with a disc.
Does anyone know how to initiate recovery of the system on this laptop?

    Hello

The recovery disk was not provided with the laptop because there is a tool called Toshiba Recovery disk Creator that allows you to create a recovery disc!
Please check if you can create a recovery disk using this tool!

If this is not possible, then you can check if the HARD drive recovery is available.

  • Satellite L550-117 - how to use VGA + HDMI at the same time?

    Hello
    I have a Satellite/Satellite L550 series Satellite L550 - 117.
Can I use 2 monitors at the same time, using the function key (laptop screen + HDMI, VGA + HDMI, VGA, portable computer), but I would use "laptop screen", "VGA output" + "Output HDMI" at the same time (for example: to play a movie on an HD TV and work on the other two screens).
I also want to play sounds on computer speakers 'and' an HDMI output, not the speakers for computer 'or' HDMI.

Is it possible with this notebook and how?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

Good idea you have unfortunately it of not possible to use 3 monitors at the same time. You can use the internal monitor and an external monitor but not the two external monitors. This is not supported in the graphics card.

Then, you use internal monitor, VGA connection or internal monitor + HDMI connection. That s what you can do.

  • Satellite P750 (PSAY1A) - How update the recovery partition?

Now that I found out that using the recovery on a new HARD drive would create the recovery Partition... comes the question... How do I update the recovery partition.

My Toshiba Satellite P750 (PSAY1A-01Y022) the factory settings has 132 update of Windows that should be applied during the first pass. I had to run Windows update 4 times before she shows "up-to-date". Not to mention drivers Toshiba as well.

I also want to include some applications (Microsoft Office and other software and utilities)...
Overall, I spent 2 days just to bring it t the State I want in.
But I can't just access the recovery Partition (of the less any of this!)

If you look at disk management, the recovery Partition is not a Volume name and that the file system is empty. If I right click on the recovery partition... all I see is "Help" Option

I tried to assign a drive by using Diskpart letter... but it doesn't show much.
My guess is that it is GBT/EUFI.

Does anyone have experience updating the recovery Partition?

    > Now that I found out that using the recovery on a new HARD drive would create the recovery Partition... comes the question... How do I update the recovery partition.

What do you mean by update recovery partition?
The recovery partition should NOT be touched!

In which case you'd change the partition, the HARD drive recovery process could not be started!

Probably, you have not understood the meaning of such a HARD drive recovery procedure.
It's the option provided by Toshiba and the recovery of HARD drive allows you to establish the notebook to factory settings; on the same State as at the first day of the purchase.

    Madam/Sir,

    Hello

I suggest that you use the tool to disks in Ubuntu to mount your Windows partition.
If the partition is damaged in an aborted recovery (or other reason), you will need to invest a lot of time and effort to successfully recover your data.

How can I recover my hard drive with the software pre installed on another way?

    grateful for some help.

    Hello!

To the recovery of your laptop, you need the recovery disc that you have and the you must boot from the CD/DVD drive that s all!

So go to the menu of boot if you press F12 immediately if you have turned on the laptop and select your hard disk.
The laptop is trying to boot from the CD/DVD drive and now follow the instructions on the screen.

  • Satellite U940-108 - how to configure the BIOS to boot double OS to SSD / HDD

How can I set the BIOS to start multi os ssd and HDD?

I want to boot from an OS SSD and other bones of the HARD drive,
When I try to do, I've got windows error?

    Can you help me

    Hello

I guess you want to install the operating system (which one?) on the internal mSATA SSD 32GB?
This mSATA SSD is used for caching (hybrid boot) to start Windows faster 8.

I recommend you to install the second operating system on the HARD drive.
To do this you must create the new partition that could be used for the installation of the OS.

Then boot from the Windows installation disc and install the OS 2nd on the new partition.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 how to use recovery DVD-ROM with vmware products

    Hello

I like to use the recovery DVDs of product (T201651-GR) of my Satelite Pro 6100 on VmWare player, because I use openSUSE Linux as main operating system (not Windows installed on the hard disk).
I do like install and save hard disk laptop, so that to restore later inside the vmware. If it works?
I wonder if someone can tell me how to use my legal version of Windows XP on VmWare player?

    Thank you in advance,
    Bernd

    Hello

I doubt that it works with VmWare.
    Why?
Because the restore CD contains the ghost image files and you will need to boot from the recovery CD for installation.

So I see the chances of getting this job running VmWare.

    Hi guys!

Yesterday I stumbled accidentally updating BIOS for my satellite A350D-113 and computer interference in the process. Now, I've got is this common black screen, fan turns and CD-rom checked.
I know there are discussions on this issue, but all of these senses are very different. Can someone help me with step by step "what to do"?
I did not usb floppy, but I suppose a common CD - R should be fine replacement.

    I'm desperate rly.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

If the BIOS update failed, you can do anything. You need professional help of an authorized service provider. Technicians can try to reflash the ROM module

  • Satellite U940 - 12 c: how to make recovery USB pendrive having only 2 DVD

    Hello.

I have a netbook Satellite U940 - 12 c, a software problem causing a HARD drive format and the SSD. Finally, I got the free Toshiba Recovery DVD (as it was not my fault, but a software one), two recovery DVDs.

And that's all I've got: an own Satellite, without partition recovery or any data in HDD or SSD. and the recovery of two DVD. Since my laptop doesn't have a DVD player, and I don't have an external, my question is simple: How can I make a boot USB key recovery by using data stored in the recovery DVD?

If anyone can help... Thank you!

    > How can I make a boot USB key recovery by using data stored in the recovery DVD?
In my opinion this isn't possible.
You cannot simply move the data from DVD 2 disks to USB. I think that this will not work.

In your case, you will need to use an external USB CD/DVD drive in order to retrieve the laptop using both disks.

  • How to partition the Hardrive on Satellite L550?

Will set up the new Satellite L550 WINPro and partitioned the HDrive which, on the finish, did not show the "C" drive with the partition I have allocated to it as usable. I called the support & informed the other space I had partitioned was hidden and unusable. Support could not advise me how to re - install 2 partitions can be used out of their allocation of work to do.

I'm used to Sony Vaio XP where you can partition the disks as much as you want which are all usable. The beauty of having a separate drive to store your documents and other sensitive files on, is that, if you ever get to make a recovery, the partitioned drive assigned to these is not lost.

You are not sure if Toshibas are capable of it?

Can someone help with how partition USEFUL disks on this laptop please?

    Thanks in advance.

To be honest I don t know if Satellite L550 procedure nine collection or old, but I know that new Satellite A660 has it with works by great walls. I'll try to explain it and you check to see if the same thing can be done on your laptop satellite

-Recovery starts and you will see a WARNING at the beginning
-on the next step, you can choose factory default software recovery
-on this next step choose the custom size partition recovery recovery method (on this point, you can choose the size of the C drive, where the operating system must be installed
-continue and complete the installation of recovery

When the BONE is completely installed, you will see a partition C only (Windows Explorer). Enter computer management and go to disk management. On the right side, you will see the structure of HARD drive and a large unallocated area (black color). Use this box to create own partition/partition (logical drive).

    All that s.

  • Satellite L850 and partition recovery

Hello, I want to ask about my recovery my computer portition L850 corei7 satellite phone.
I got the pc 3 years ago and my restore partition has been deleted by mistak and I found one about 1.46 GB partition is tiltled by issue of recovery active healthy partition .my, these is the recovery partition? If its how can operate agine and if not how can my recovery partition agine reback... If she need to make an order in Egypt cost... and thx in advence

This recovery partition belongs to the operating system itself and has nothing to do with the Toshiba recovery partition. If the recovery partition is deleted you can not get it back.
Only thing to do is to reinstall the recovery image and use laptop with 'presets' again.

In my opinion, only option for you now is to order the original installation of the recovery media - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

    > Satellite Pro L40 - how to make a dual boot with two recovery disks?
Short answer: you can't do that. Maybe if you have two hard disks (I tried didn't) but as much as I know your SP L40 has only one.
Ask this smart guy, how to do this. Maybe it's a useful tip.

  • How can I make a DVD of the restore hidden in my external hard drive partition recovery

How can I make a DVD of the restore hidden in my external hard drive partition recovery because I want to recover my toshiba satellite L840 that does not respond directly to my hard drive so I put my laptop to an external HARD drive and then I want to copy a DVD recovery partition

Your question is a bit confusing, you can boot the laptop at all? Have you tried booting in safe mode, you can make a recovery DVD set from there, the folder Toshiba.

With the drive in the Toshiba, you should be able to use a F, F10, F11, or F12 key to activate the installation from the partition hidden started upward.

Otherwise, you can contact Toshiba, and with the model of the product id number and the laptop for Windows, you can buy a set of disks.

  • Satellite 2HW C855: win 8-10GB recovery partition can be removed?

For my Satellite C855-2HW with Win 8 OEM, I would like to a partition to separate data in addition to the OS + programs.
At present 4 scores are already in use.
First 450MO partition recovery, the second a third EFI 260 MB, of the score of 920 GB operating system partition, and the fourth a 10 GB recovery partition.

Now that I've done of recovery with "Toshiba Media Recovery Creator" DVDs, I can remove the recovery partition right?
Can you only do this for an external support as with Diskpart or Gparted?

It takes to this partition for media files; Photos, documents, music, movies, etc.

What is the best way of all this?
    Cheers, boris.

    > Now that I did with 'Toshiba Media Recovery Creator' recovery DVDs, I can remove the recovery partition right?

Yes. After changing the structure of the partitions probably you won't be able to use the HARD drive recovery facility more. This was the case in the past. In any case, now you have recovery DVD and you can install the recovery using these DVD image.
