sbRIO-9607

Hello

I use sbrio 9607. I connect the NI 9234 module to sbrio by jury NI 9697 CTMR which has two slots. The problem is I don't need a second slot and slot increases the size and volume.

(1) is there a version of unique slot 9697 OR?

(2) is there a way to connect the NI 9234 to sbrio?

Thanks in advance,

Gear

It turns out that my previous statement was somewhat inaccurate (should have read the documentation more closely).

We do not have an EGGA which allows you to use only a single module C series, but you are able to create your own CTMR which would only have one connection of module C-Series.  The link below explains how you can make this connection.  The important caveat is that you will not be able to use the pins previously used for the second module for other tasks, because it is a signal of fixed behavior.  If you want to save space, it can be done, but if you want more connections DIO it is impossible.

I hope that summarizes the options available.

  • Display connection to sbrio 9607 amulet

    Hello

I would like to connect the Sbrio 9607 amulet monitor (part no783305-01). Previous related discussions in the forum, I understand that display must be connected to the sbrio using RS232. I want to assure you that it is not possible to use the USB port on the screen of the amulet for connection. USB connection is more convenient and simpler since RS232 requires the additional connector and wiring. However, I'd go for the RS232 if USB is not an option.

    Thanks in advance

It looks like quite similar questions were asked before (different sbRIO) and they found that they were unable to communicate to their display through USB.

  • Attempt to add a "new target or device', but the sbRIO 9607 is not listed

    Hello

Just upgraded to 2015 LabVIEW and CompactRIO 15.0.

Also used the Service to update OR install the patches for 2015 of LabVIEW and CompactRIO device drivers.

I'm trying to add a target in LabVIEW in the window "add targets and devices." I select 'new target or device' and develop the sbRIO options. I see a lot of targets, but unfortunately the sbRIO-9607 does not appear. It simply isn't.

Thoughts? When I'm back in the office on Monday, I'll try a repair of the driver.

    Best,

    Dan

Well, this is embarrassing, but I don't know I'm not the first and won't be the last to commit this error.

I had accidentally opened LabVIEW 2014 SP1 instead of 2015 of LabVIEW.

Of course, it works in 2015 from LabVIEW. Congratulations if you guessed this might be the problem.

  • I need this connector: Samtec - SEAM-40-03.0-S-06-2-A-KTR

    Hi all.

We use the sbRIO-9607, and we have designed our own board connector.

However, we have a problem getting the connector: Samtec - SEAM-40-03.0-S-06-2-A-KTR

I found it at the arrow:

    http://components.arrow.com/part/detail/50566931S8850789N1004

But you can buy 125 pieces, which is a lot for our society.

Guys you find your connectors of?

    Thank you.

Samtec has always been good to provide samples of their parties. There is a link on samtec.com at the request of the samples.  You should also be able to order directly from samtec.com

  • Use the same node of IO in sbRIO (VxWorks) 9606 and 9607 (Linux)

    Hello!

I have one tries to use the same FPGA VI on both a sbRIO 9612, 9605, 9606 and 9607. For the three first it is perfectly feasible as soon as I call the IOs even name to different boards. For the 9607 I can't make it work.

A knot of IO on 9607 looks like:

    And I can't the closest to a 9606 is:

Because I'm not allowed to name it with backslash.

And it does not work on both targets.

Is there any other way to the insertion of a structure conditional disable for each node of e/s I use?

    Thank you

    Anders

    Hi Anders,

I noticed in your example, you created a CLIP in the interface with your e/s under the 9607. Did you plan using VIDEO-specific features? If not, you can simply add an EGGA as in the 9606 (target FPGA 9607 right-click > New > RIO Mezzanine Card) and the e/s should look like. This can give you more parity between the targets. Otherwise, I think that the two interfaces will have different properties. I modified your sample project and attached. Take a look at "IO2.vi" and let us know if that's what you're looking for.

  • sbRIO 9651 SoM Unique Identification UID

    Dear Almighty LabVIEWers,

our test system I intend using several units of SoM as a control bodies, for this I want to assign the IP address dynamically.

For our current system, we use the UID - the chip inside the CPU and a CRC-32 128-bit in order to get a unique MAC address and generate UID then address IP of this.

My question is: is it possible to get a UID of a hardware component inside the sbRIO 9651?

If not, has anyone had an experience store values to the NAND Flash as a value just read?

    Help is highly appreciated!

    Dear SerjsVIEW

Do you intend to replace the MAC address of a NETWORK card?

There is no special UID-piece in the SOM to which you have access.

What you can do is to access information system with the 'API Configration system'. There you get information such as ProductID, SerialNumber, product name, MAC address of the NETWORK card.

    I hope that helps you.

  • Stop the cRIO or sbRIO via command software

    Hello

After a little digging around I still not found a software command to stop a cRIO or sbRIO. There is a restart vi, but not a stop. I wonder if I missed something that someone may know.  For a RT Linux RIO it may be possible using a Linux command, I wonder? And for a VxWork, an idea? THX

In general, it does not resemble the power management is not very well supported. Looks like there is a command to do it on Linux RT systems:

    Hello

I used the sbRIO-9612 during the year on the project, recently it is sometimes restarts in safe mode. In MAX I can find that the status of the sbRIO is 'Safe Mode with the software error. Someone can tell me, how can I know where is the problem. I have the log of errors as an attachment.

    Hello

Here's how I did to solve the problem:

I replaced all the loops NI sbRIO with while loops (including time interval)

And that's all! Looks like the timed loop posed the problem in some unknown way. The same thing I've seen also on the FPGA.

  • WebServer on sbRIO

    Hey guys,.

I'm doing a Web server on a 9636 application NOR sbRIO. I think I have all the required software installed on the target.

I built the Web server specification building and I can see that the Web server deployed under the option 'Web Services deployed"of the Web site NOR based Configuration & Monitoring Tool (screenshot attached).

I joined a demonstration project, which is the target of sbRIO with a "static" (including index.html) file and the Web server for Build specification. The deployed Web server is illustrated in the attached screenshot. When I try to open 192.168.1.180/RIO_WebService/static/index.html, I get a 404 error.

You have any suggestions, why I can not open the index.html page?

I almost forgot: with the same exact configuration steps, I can deploy and reach the Web server on your desktop without any problem.

I hope I made clear what the problem is. I you need additional information, please ask!

    Thanks in advance,

    Norbert

Hi Norbert and welcome to the Forums EITHER!

Have you tried accessing it using the port configured on the Web Application Server? So in your case, 192.168.1.180: 8080/RIO_WebService/static/index.html or something similar.

The web service Setup seems good.

  • Restrict the LabVIEW deployment on NOR sbRIO

    Hi all

I searched a lot to find a solution, but could not find one.

I have to protect my controller sbRIO OR deploy any application of LV
For example, if anyone with LV connects to the network of the controller, it should be not able to deploy anything to sbRIO before filling the credentials of the controller.

Web configuration of the controller, I deleted all permissions to "everyone" group and set password for the user "admin".
After that, MAX OR requires a password before you save anything to the controller, but LV does not require anything before you proceed with the connection of the programmer and the deployment of a VI on it.

    Could you please help me?

    Thank you in advance.

What Single-Board RIO device do you use (Linux or VxWorks RTOS based?)

  • Connect the sbRIO amulet monitor

I have programmed my amulet display and have a VI RT on my 9636 sbRIO which must communicate with the amulet.  I have the amulet the sbRIO-related uses the USB port.   I also installed the software on my sbRIO:

    (1) NI-VISA 15.0.0

    (2) passport OR VISA-USB 15.0.0

When I run the RT.VI, it is not the USB port on the sbRIO.  I guess I'm missing some software on the sbRIO but can not understand.

    Thank you

    Craig,

To dispel confusion, you shouldn't see your amulet device in MAX, you should see the sbRIO. In addition, you cannot communicate via USB between the sbRIO and amulet device, but you can communicate over the serial (RS232).

You are right in saying that you are missing on the sbRIO software because there is not a driver for the sbRIO use USB.

While I tried to follow the steps on MAX help the configuration of the IP address to define networks setting.

I used the DHCP or the Local link to configure IPv4 addresses, but address appeared 0.0.0.0 as subnet mask, gateway and DNS server are all 0.0.0.0 and not yet configured.

I tried to follow the steps in the help of MAX to set the static IPv4 address put not clearly enough to get it because it is too general.

  • sbRIO-9651 IO corresponding length

We plan to interface high speed ADC (1gech/s x8bit) that uses a wide interface LVDS (two samples) from 16-bit to a sbRIO-9651.  Is there a resource that provides information about the sbRIO-9651 module layout details as worst case length offset series in differential pairs and between differential pairs that exist on the module (independent of our own layout of the Board of Directors)?

Since the interface use a common differential clock and wide 16-bit interface, I'm trying to get a sense tilt the worst case there might be between pairs differential seperatate.

I can they use sheet date architecting to get an idea of the maximum transfer rate, but are there restrictions on the module itself that will limit rates date?

    Hi abadobid,

The SbRIO-9651 manual specifications (table 8) should have the details of length sur-module trace info you are looking for.

In addition, I recommend reading the Design Guide for the SOM carrier for detailed techniques, guidelines and requirements for the design of carrier card.
