Scan to computer no longer works

Use the Scan of the computer every month or two.  Tried today and the printer says "be sure to feature is enabled.  Instructs me to use the stock Scanner and then manage the Scan.  This option is not in my control panel Windows 7 HP OfficeJet Pro 8600.  How can I manage the Scan and get the service running on my PC again?

I downloaded the full software for the 8600 and reinstalled.  Now, I have the option to manage the Scan and got the operation of the service.  An automatic update of installed only HP printer controls, no analysis or by fax.  All good now.

    You can try to uninstall last updates window who installed or do a system restore to a point before the updates have been installed and then install updates one by one to see which update is causing the problem.

    If you cannot uninstall the updates, then you can try to perform a restore of the system to a prior restore point you have been affected by the issue.

    Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

    Try to install updates one at a time to see the update is causing the problem.

    When I run a scan of my printer to the computer, I get an error message that says that there is no connection, or that the application of scanning the computer is currently in use.

    I can Scanner normally when you use the HP Scan SW initiated from my computer. I can Scanner normally the printer to a memory device to the printer.

    The HP Print & Scan Doctor SW says that everything is OK and day.

    Any ideas?

    YUO must ensure that you have the FULL features software installed first and then turn on computer scanning.

    If you have not installed the software FULL of features, the following resources will help you:

    How to scan to computer

    Once you have installed the software:

    1. click the printer (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP printer Assistant.
    2. in the menu analyze, there is a 'manage Scan to Computer', click on that.
    3 make sure you have "Enable" Scan of the computer. Also, make sure that the tab "automatically start Scan of the computer when I connect Windows" is checked if you want to perpetuate this feature. (the following video will show you how)

    If it does not, we suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the software features FULL.

    How can I transfer a license InDesign CS6 to another computer if the original computer it was installed on is no longer works? I tried to use the license key that I had before, where there was an extra activation to the left. However, the nonprofit, that I purchased the license through TechSoup (which provides non-profits with the reduced software), and I believe that we have received an activation because of this. When I used the old license key, it gave me the following message. What should I do to get the license on my new computer? I would try to disable the old license, but the old computer is no longer active.

  • OfficeJet 6500 e710n-z: scan and Fax no longer works

    After working fine for a couple of years, scanner and fax on my Officejet 6500 functions do not work.  The print function is fine.

    Change that recent computer-wise is that I am switched to a Macbook Air (and upgraded to OS Mavericks) Macbook Pro, but all that was on my previous Mac was transferred to my Air of my LaCie support.

    When I try to scan a document, the preview function works fine but when I click on Scan, a small message says "Made scan of selected areas" but no scan is actually performed.

    When I try to send a fax, I can hear the tone on my phone line and the phone rings but the fax does not pick up.  I tried with several known fax numbers and it's always the same.  I almost never receive faxes so I can't say whether or not the receiver function works.

    Can someone advise?

    I have upgraded to Mac 10.11.2 yesterday evening.  Now, I get this error.  Tried to reinstall the software and restarted the router and the computer to the printer, tried with wifi and LAN.  I guess it has to do with the update.  I can scan the Mac, but NOT the printer to the Mac.

    I read your post and wanted to comment. I checked the drivers on hp.com for your printer model to find out there are not full of features of updated the Sierra drivers. Of my own knowledge, complete drivers must be installed to scan from the printer to the computer.

    Maybe the Apple link below can help. In the meantime, I'm not sure as to the if or when complete drivers will be released to 10.12. You will not be able to scan using HP software, then you can try on your Mac such as Apple Preview or Capture of Image methods.

    I have a few multifuntions gun and have never had a problem of scanning more wireless - my new MX922 on OX 10.11.4 does scan no more wireless - when I open the utility and click on one of the icons, a black with small white corners box appears and then the software fails.  Please let me know if anyone knows a solution.

    Just upgraded to Windows 8. My Canon MP600R printer must be compatible, however the scan function will not longer work.

    Is there an easy solution?

    The upgrade wizard has pointed out that there is a solution "payd" but does'nt me more help.

    The functions of the printer are doing well.

    I experienced the same problem with a Canon Pixma MP600 and an iP2550 Pixma.

    I downloaded the Canon My Printer Windows 8 compatible version (mypr-victory-3_0_0 - ea11_2.exe) and it works, but no driver Windows 8 is available at this time for two printers :-)
    I will contact Canon Help Desk tomorrow and let you know what they're going to respond to me.

    Thanks for the additional information. If you were able to locate the HPScan.exe try running it. It should be a direct link to the scanning software. Let me know if it helps to complete a scan.

  • HP7520 Scan of the computer does not work, but the impression is

    I got a HP 7520 for awhile now, and I used to be able to scan to the computer without any problem.  However, after the upgrade a computer to WIndows 8 and re - install the HP software, that no longer works.  I left the office as a desktop Windows 7, but have the same problem - again, printing but wireless "computer scan" is not "work and my computers both say a scanner is not installed."  Ive tried several ways to install scanner drivers, but no dice.  Should this quite expensive multifunctional device now go on the pile of junk?  If so I'm passing to Epson - I had enough problems with the HP hardware!

    I finally understood that - why it should be so hard to find, I don't know, but thank you for having me on the right path BH - even though she wasn't quite specific instructions for my computer.

    I have Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines, but it was the same resolution for both:

    Installation of a network scanner

    2. Locate the scanner, right-click and then click on install.

    3. Follow the instructions to finish adding the scanner

      A very simple solution, but it is not easy to find, or intuitive to navigate.  In any case, my rear multifunction device works again, thank God!

    After the upgrade to Windows 10 I continually get this message, "Scan to computer is no longer enabled.  I disabled "Scan to Computer" network printer and ran print and scan doctor and you have restarted the computer and the printer. I always get the sporadic message. It is very annoying.

    I should be able to provide suggestions!  Looks like that a little a problem with the software and scanning to the message from the computer.  When you disable the scan of the computer should be a checkbox bellow the button.  The box should say something like "Automatically start scan of the computer" when I log on Windows Make sure that this box is NOT checked.

    If the above suggestion already exists and you are still having the problem then I suggest that you uninstall the HP software. Once the uninstall is complete, it would be wise to perform a cleanup of the computer disk. A disk cleanup will improve the performance of the computer and remove the temporary files that may cause problems during the installation of the software. Once disk cleanup you must restart the computer and reinstall the HP software.
