Scan to HP 4630 Chromebook

How to configure the HP scan to my Chromebook 4630. The message on the RESUME says "no found computer." I am able to print from the Chromebook, but can not scan to it.

Another method, which you can use to scan to Google Chrome OS is through the EWS of the printer page, you can find the exact steps listed in the following document.

Choose Windows RT > scan from (network only) built-in Web server and follow the steps that are exactly the same a chromebook thus:

I use HP printers, as long as I can remember, and it is news to me.  During the scan, she expresses herself now analyze the first page very well, but each page once there on a margin of inch and a half at the top of the page and the bottom of the page of the cultures.  Have not cleaned or made any real trouble shooting (which I am familiar with) because the first page comes out fine every time.  I just want to know where to start all first I don't lose any time with anything useless.  Help!

Hi there @Kaburple , welcome to the forums!

I have a few ideas in mind will hopefully solve the scan problem you are having with the scanned images cropping after analysis of the first page.

I suggest a reset of the power and make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall jack, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help greatly.

Press the power button to turn the product on.
With the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
If the product does not light by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

Check and update firmware: get the latest Firmware and product updates

Make a few copies to see if the symptom of copies, the same question as digitization. If copies are a problem, the problem is hardware related. If copies are fine, the problem is software partner.

If copies are fine, try running the print and Scan of the doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all conflicts that may be causing the problem. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there is a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. Scan again thereafter.

I hope this helps, good luck

  • OfficeJet 4630: Officejet 4630 scans to Chromebook

    Hello

I just bought an Officejet 4630, mainly to use with my Chromebook (Toshiba)

However, when I want to scan documents to my Chromebook, he asks if the software is loaded onto the Chromebook, but I don't know how to load it on?

Also, how I load the scanning software for my Android Tablet (running Lollipop) and Tablet (running KitKat)?

    Hi @ UpperSydenham

    Welcome to the HP Forum,

If I understand correctly, you have a problem with scanning and software necessary. The first hurdle is with the software.

Unfortunately the software cannot be installed on the operating system Chrome, and can say the same on Android devices. I'm sorry this response seems dark, but all is not lost.

I wish to address first android devices.

Yes, they are unable to install the software, but they can install applications (yeay)

HP has created the all-in - one remote for android devices. It is free and is located in the Google Playstore on both devices. (Android version 4.0 and later)

You will still not be able to scan from the front panel of your 4630, but load the document in the feeder or place it on the glass as if your were going to analyze this way. Once the document is in places open all-in-one remote printer application.

The first time you do this, you may need to select your printer. Once this is done, you will see several options, and one that will save the day is scan. Touch and it will scan the document to your tablet. make the necessary modifications, and then save the document or photo.  If you encounter any "hiccups" with it please let me know.

Now for the book of chrome.

Bottom line: Chromebooks do not support drivers and printers were not initially designed to work with this particular operating system. It has Webscan. WEBSCAN can have unpredictable results, because it has not been designed with Chromebooks in mind. Scanning from the chromebook is not supported.

The following steps work on a MAC or PC and may not work with the Chromebook, but it's worth a try.

    1. tap wireless to the printer and take note of the IP address.

    2. open a new browser on the chromebook

    3. in the address bar type the printers ip address and press on enter (return, go, ect...)

If everything goes as planned you will reach the printers EWS (built-in web server). If you don't let me please know we will have to go through some basic network breakdowns.

    4. once in the SAP, you will be on the home tab, you will see others. Click on the tab labeled Scan

    It's the Webscan.

If you get a message about it is off, click or tap on the settings tab.

now touch Security (left column) Please do not get tempted with the section that says password

I met nothing but misery of pain when a password is added to the printer.

Then tap Settings administrator, you will now see a small box to the left to check so that webscan can be activated.

Select the check box, and then click on apply.

5 adjust the settings and click or press scan at the bottom of the page. Once you see the image on the right, save it. (This is the part that sometimes does not work well on the Chrome OS)

What I would do, is use the AIO (all-in - One Printer Remote). It has the ability to share the digitized item. What I suggest is your email. Once the item is in your email, you can easily access it from the Chromebook.

If you have any questions, issues or problems, feel free to contact me.

  • OfficeJet 4630: digitization of jet Office 4630 for mac

I'm trying to scan from officejet 4630 on my mac laptop.  It gives me a message "Scan of the computer can not be activated.  It also says "Please download and install the latest version of the software from the HP Web site".  I did it twice and I still got the same message.  I am able to print perfectly but will not scan.  What can I do?

    Hi @laley,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support with your scanning problem.

I understand that you use a HP Officejet 4630 e-all-in-one printer with a Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan computer and you are unable to scan. I would like to help with that.

You mentioned that you have installed the printer software. The next thing I would do is to reset the Mac printing system. Here is an Apple Support document that can help needed - reset the printing system.

After resetting the printing system, the printer will have to be added to the printers and Scanners window. You want to make sure that you select the driver "HP OfficeJet 4630 series" instead of the "AirPrint" driver in the menu in the printer window 'Add' drop-down 'use'. Here is a document that can help with this if needed - Add or remove a printer.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

  • EPrinter HP Envy 4500 Scan of the computer (HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook) / E-Mail?

I just bought three HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook & HP Envy 4500 ePrinters for members of the family that I am trying to set up.  (I'm new to cloud computing).  Can I scan documents to PDF at the computer (Chromebook) / E-mail of the printer?  If so, how?  When documents arrive on the computer?  If the scan to e-mail is possible on the devices above, can I store several addresses e-mail ePrint in the printer choose?  Thank you!

    Hi eKeith,

Thanks for shouting it and fast response.    No problem on other issues, it is we are here for.

    1. You will need to manually launch the built-in Web server.  What I've done in the past, it's just mark the ip address of the printer is to click instead of having to manually enter the IP every time. It works best if you set a manual ip address of the printer.  I've included a screenshot.
      1. Click on the "Network" tab in the SAP
      2. Click on 'Network' in the left side menu
      3. Click on 'network address (IP)' in the left side menu
      4. Click 'propose a manual IP address.
      5. Click on "Manual DNS server"
      6. For the server DNS preferred manual please enter 8.8.8.8
      7. For the auxiliary DNS Server Manual please enter 8.8.4.4

    2. There is no way to web analytics by default in pdf format.
    3. The default value corresponds to your "Downloads" folder, but you can switch to "Google Drive".
    4. If you click on the built-in web server Web Services tab, there is an option in the side menu on the left for updates. I've included a screenshot of where to find him.
