Scanjet 5590 driver does not not in Windows 8.1

Scanjet 5590 worked well with W8. After the update to W8.1 beginning of the said software scanner cannot be found. Downloaded HP Print & Scan doctor who reveals a drive problem. Message displayed after after reconnection to scan and reboot the PC: the problem is not resolved, go to HP customer care for help with this problem.

I'm here, anyone an idea how to fix this?

Thanks in advance for your kind help with this issue.

PS. : Attachments in the Dutch language, sorry!

Problem solved for me

I did 2 things:

(1) a clean install of 8.1 W. If you google there is a few ways to do it right from a W8.1 ISO.

(2) I have seen that on the drivers download page as the base for W8.1 drivers have been announced. I decided to use the full functionality for W 8.0 drivers (version 14.5) to see if it would work as I would like to have more then just the base drivers. Link: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdHome/?sp4ts.oid=377691&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3DswEnvOID%253D4132%257CswLang%253D%257Caction%253DlistDriver&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

When the program started it looked for updates, installed the drivers, asked me to connect the scanjet 5590 and the PC recognized the scanjet yet?
I'm not sure what did the trick, that's why I mention these two changes I made.

I hope this helps also for others, having the same problem.

No, these aren't the droids, uh, I mean the drivers he was looking for.

In fact, it's better to get the new drivers from the HP website, you will notice the link you provided that the options only are available for this printer under Windows 7 drivers universal. I regularly have problems with universal drivers and strongly recommend to avoid as much as possible.

I agree with the question of the original poster, which, after more than two years, remains unanswered by Microsoft. It seems that MS has a driver PCL 5 (not universal) updated specific 3015, but it fails to install the Windows Update control panel. I finally gave up on it, right click on the update and selected the option to hide it from view.

    Hello

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  • Windows 7 LaserJet 6 p Driver does not

I have Windows 7 and LaserJet 6 p/MP.  The updated Windows 7 driver does not work.  I noticed others with this issue?  Is there a driver available.  How can I get it?

    Hi Bob,

I did some research today and found the MFG. cable has no Web site, or win 7 drivers for USB/parallel cable.  I almost gave up and came across this MSFT site:

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7hardware/thread/cede656d-BAFA-47B2-b4e0-ed86b132e39d

which mentions turned off bidirectional printing at the bottom of the screen of printer properties/ports.  BINGO!  It works fine now.  This is the problem all along, PRINTING BIDIRECTIONNELLE.    I don't know what this means, but it will print in my case.  I spent so many days of work on this issue, finally resolved.

Thanks for your directional support on that.  I had to move in new directions, what happened to the response.
