I recently bought LabVIEW 8.6 Developer Suite with the Suite Sound Measurement and to create a program of NVH testing at my company. I am a newbe to Labview, but I've been a programmer/hardware geek since the days of the TRS-80 model1. Here's my problem. I installed the following developers DVD package on my Office Windows XP Professional and all goes well. I see the following Sound and Vibration Measurement listed under LabVIEW 8.6 able & Automation Explorer, and examples of the Toolbox for work in LabVIEW. When the laptop I bought to do my current job came with a Vista Business Edition 32 bit version installed I found the following problem. On this machine and two other machines to Vista (64-bit and a 32 bit) I tried, the installation does not record the Souind and vibrations under LabVIEW 8.6 Suite and they show Sound and Vibration toolkit as not installed in the examples section. In the Panel by virtue of National Instruments, all 4 machines show the Suite Sound and Vibration as installed 6.0. I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, change in the control panel and reinstall from DVD without change in the result. I really need get the laptop works as it's my real development and test machine. XP Setup is not an option because the machine newly purchased with a high-end sound system and downgrade XP was not available. I'm out of ideas.

  OK, I understand much better now.  I assumed you had live music with microphones etc.  Any transfer of digital records is another story.

  Flat response, is that you don't need ASIO.  ASIO is specially designed for multitrack recording - picture a situation where a singer is to hear their own voice back in the headphones but delayed by one-tenth of a second or two.   Makes almost impossible pace and ASIO is designed to minimize the latency, but this isn't a problem for you.  Similarly, you're closing another software that could try to catch your sound card, so it is no more a problem for you.  FYI, ASIO makes no difference to the quality of the sound.  That will be determined in a mixture of your Platinum/pre-amp/sound card.  ASIO only effects how things work once it is already digitized.

  The risk to Adobe on a sale, I don't think that the new monthly hearing (CC) version will work better with rather dubious imitation of Creative Labs of ASIO.  As I said earlier, I found thousands of messages of griping on their ASIO, against all kinds of different brands of Audio software, including things like Cubase and Protools.  However, if you want to satisfy your curiosity, you can download a 7 day trial of the latest version of CC.

  I have a Canon MX922 multifunction that worked smoothly with Windows 8 However, after the upgrade (with a clean install) to 8.1 Windows, I can't have the drivers to install completely.

  When you run the installation package (mast-victory-mx920-1_0 - ucd.exe) I get no error, however, the IJ Network Scanner selector EX is not installing (it is necessary to scan the network). I extracted this from the main installation package (\mast-win-mx920-1_0-ucd.exe\mast-win-mx920-1_0-ucd\win\Driver\LANUTIL\SELECTOR\) installation package and tried to run and received the following error: "an error has occurred while the files have been copied.", then the installation will fail.

  Before calling the Canon, I tried to install the main package as well as the IJ Network Scanner selector EX package in a clean boot state and got the same results.

  The only thing that Canon could happen to was copy "usbscan.sys" C:\, C:\Windows\System32\drivers and C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository and try again.

  Anyone have any ideas?

  Don't know if this will help, but I found a solution for it not to install it on my system.

  New installation of win pro 8.1 and it installs fine

  Add avast anti virus and it works, but if you try to install it fails

  Disable all the features of Avast and it still fails to install

  Uninstall Avast and restart and it still not be able to install

  found that Avast does not uninstall and blocks the selector definition of the connection network scanner program

  Solution albeit strange and cannot confirm if this works for other anti-virus software is:

  Uninstall Avast

  Reinstall Avast

  Uninstall Avast right after the new installation

  Seems to be the only way to get Avast to uninstall completely

  Load all your Canon drivers and test

  Once again, this may be a similar problem with other antivirus software but cannot confirm

• Hard drive does not correctly identified under Win7 64 bit and the blocking of access to the disk.

  Looks like you have a bad AP because it does not detect the installed radios:
