Hello

If you're running Windows 8 or 8.1, try to use the Windows system restore to return the machine to an earlier point in time when it worked correctly - a complete guide on how to make of this (including a video preview) can be found on the link under the subheading: restore your computer when Windows 8 will not start normally (it's to halfway down the page).

Battery test: primary past secondary - has NOT been

    PCI device control: past.

Does anyone have an idea of this behavior? How can I solve this problem

    Hi @ljuserhpfor ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I appreciate all the information and the results of the tests that you did. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dm1-3025dx Entertainment Notebook PC and the laptop does not start. In my view, that the question is called the RTC battery. (Real TIme Clock).  Here isa document to show you how you can replace that.

If you see things very well on a screen, it might be a bad driver has been installed. You can do a System Restore. System Restore will help if something is automatically updated and wasn't on the laptop.

When running a system restore note remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices because they can cause problems.

    Hope it will be useful.

    Thank you.

  • Windows Vista black after login screen and Explorer has stopped working error

    Hello world

I have a very big problem. Whenever I connect to my computer that is running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition all I get is a black screen and a mouse pointer. I can use Ctrl + Alt + Del or Alt + Ctr + Shift lift the the Task Manager, and from there I can run firefox. Once in Firefox I can use the option open the file to find programs, do a right-click and then run them. But I want my back office. When I try to run Explorer from the Task Manager and then I get an error message saying it stopped and must be closed. I also keep getting an error message for something like 'Windows Search Protocol Host' or somesuch. A large part of time that this will just about a five-minute cycle in a style of window minimized down thing then the error message poopping upwards. I am also quite unable to open Control Panel or MSCONFIG. Whenever I try that they freeze and I get an error message saying that they have a problem and need to close. Also I did not change my software recently. In fact it worked fine yesterday when I was with Photoshop Elements 7.0. Another thing that can help anyone trying to find an answer that is in most of the forums help I saw people talking about going into regedit (something I CAN open it) and put the shell on explorer.exe. Mine is already set to explorer.exe. It is also something else that many videos help and forums have said I should close explorer.exe in Task Manager process tab, then run it again. I don't have an explorer.exe in the processes tab and when I try to run it I just get "WIndows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Please help people, I'm going nuts without a desk job.

PS. I use the computer with the problem to type this.

Sometimes when I boot / reboot system screen turns black after the windows logo, but if I wait a while, I do not hear the star tune up windows, but the screen remains black.

If I all out en usb port restart or turn on the machine for the first time this day here, everything starts well.

  • Screen goes black after 1 hour

    • Since I updated the latest drivers intel 945g chipset intel web site.  In about 1 hour, without mouse or keyboard entry operator plug-and-play monitor turns black I like it or not?  Even if I have a screen saver running monitor will go black like it loses power or falls asleep.  If I hit the space bar or mouse buttons the monitor will be back after a long wait.  It's like it is in hiberate mode.  My question is there a way to keep the monitor on by changing policy or registry setting? Or any suggestions on how I can keep the monitor on.  In the control panel power management allows only hibernate mode to check that I've not checked.  BIOS can only s1 or s3 power management.  I updated s1.  I don't know what is controlling this?  Upgrade of the chipset, XP Home Edition sp3 or other.  I don't like not being in control.  Another question, I noticed, that is if I turn off computer at night.  Then in the morning I turn on computer and monitor is black.  It takes a long time for the Welcome screen to display on the monitor? I use to see the information displayed on the splash screen.  Thanks in advance for any help.

I have an idea, my problem is perhaps in the power options in the control panel.  Somehow that has changed... blanked... However when I disconnect Steve administrator and then log in as administrator I go to the control panel power options and nothing is deleted.  I am able to change settting of 20 minutes against zero for material that would keep my monitor go black.  My monitor is plug and play and did not come with manual.  Y at - it a file or a registry setting that can set table characteristics such as power options control.  I am betting that could solve the problem. In the old days all you have to do to solve this kind of problem would be to modify the win.ini or system.ini file or the control.ini to restore functions.  Oops! I'm me again aging. LOL thank you

    Hi Flair24,

-Have you made changes on your computer before this problem started to happen?
-Set the screen saver vacuum? If so, change the screen saver to another and check if this might be the cause of this problem.
-Do you have any particular power on your computer(sleep/hibernate) model?
