Search Indexer has stopped working

Index uitility has stopped working in Outlook... When I open Outlook, I can pick up once or twice, but then I get an error that says that the utility Indix has stopped working... Then I have to download a fix. Unzip and run the fix, after piutting the password, I get a "error 40' which goes on to say one of the files in the package of fixes would not launch." In trying to understand, I launched the Office repair process found on the installation... disc after doing all this, I checked the downloads and found SP2 waiting for me there... I installed, rebooted, but no improvement. My logical next step is to uninstall Outlook and reinstall. Other than that, I'm ideas...

  • Search bar has stopped working

Since the last update of FF (35), the search bar stopped working.

You say it works in safe mode, then you must try your add-ons until you find one that doesn't work.

  • Search suggestions has stopped working after the recent update.

When I start typing a search, I no longer get the search engine suggestions. (Although I still get my search history suggestions.)

This is related: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1090728?fpa=1 , cookies posted solution but it does not work for me.

I am really confused here. This should be simple.

    Things I've tried:
-deactivation / reactivation of search in settings suggestions
    -removal of the cooking
    -
-switching between different default search engines (google, yahoo, duckduckgo, bing)
    -check on: configuration variables: browser.urlbar.maxRichResults, browser.search.suggest.enabled, browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled
    -from firefox in safe mode
-remove my firefox profile and reboot for a new profile
-Uninstalling firefox with "apt - get purge" and put it back
    -different wireless networks

    Xubuntu 14.04, Firefox 42.0

(I also have another strange question, and I don't know if it is related. Every once in a while when I hit enter to search, I am taken to search for the parameters instead of the execution of the search. This happens maybe once a week.)

    > Try to delete the file search.json and possible search - metadata.json and search.sqlite files in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the default search engines.

    I don't seem to have a file search.sqlite but I deleted search - metadata.json and search.json.

Who did the trick. Thank you, Sir or Madam!

  • Search/find has stopped working

At the beginning I noticed that I had to open the search window after that I opened a file for code changes from time to time, it was quite unstable.

Now, most recently, the search window returns only a 'done. Not found in the active document. It does not work.

I already tried the options... this thing can not find a $ in a php file, it does nothing.

Anyone encountered this problem or knows what happens?

I have not encountered this problem, but an erratic behavior in Dreamweaver is often caused by a corrupted file cache. Instructions on how to delete can be found here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/417116?tstart=0#cache. Sometimes, it is necessary to delete your record of all configuration (details in the same place).

    Hi Alex,

This problem can occur if the update would have changed the parameters of indexation.

    a. Click Start, type services.msc and press ENTER.
    b. double-click Windows Search.
    c. set its startup type to automatic.
    d. set the service state to started.
    e. click OK. Check if it helps.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to rebuild indexes and check if it helps

Rebuilding the index can take several hours, and searches may be incomplete until the index is completely rebuilt.

    a. indexing by clicking the Start button, open the Options and then on Control Panel. In the search box, type indexing options, and then click Indexing Options.

    b. click Advanced. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (c) in the Advanced Options dialog box, click the index settings tab and then click rebuild. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Method 3:

I suggest you to scan Run System File Checker (SFC) tool and check if this may help.

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

I get a Microsoft Search Protocol Host has stopped working the alert box. How to solve this? It gives me the option to 'Search online (recommended)', but when I click on it nothing happens. Tried to restart and used Malware Bytes and my security suite Norton to seek something malicious, without success. Any suggestions?

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. when exactly you get this error?

I suggest you try to reset to a new start Indexing Options by removing and then rebuild the index and check if it helps.
Your search index requires virtually no maintenance. However, if the index looking for files that you know problems must be in a location indexed; You may have to re-create the index.

    To rebuild the index:

    a. open indexing and Search Options by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Indexing Options.

    b. click Advanced Options, click the index settings tab and then click on rebuild. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
