Security Center pop-up window
Why the pop-up advising me that the Security Center States that my computer is at risk. When I go into the centre, he says that everything is normal and that the computer is operating normally.
Hi macallan.
The message appears and I after a few moments and then disappear, and everything goes back to normal?
Security Center covers areas such as antivirus, firewall protection, etc.. I saw this happen if the PC has installed Microsoft Security Essentials. To initiate an indicator appears in the user informed notification area that the machine is at risk. Then, after 10 or 15 seconds (or almost) the notification action Security Center indicates that "no news not detected."
In the case of Microsoft Security Essentials, the firewall is usually the cause of the problem. For some reason it isn't the firewall as quickly as well Security Center, so throwing an error message. After a few seconds the firwalls launches and everything works as it should do.
If you do not use the Microsoft Security Essentials, then it maybe your anti-virus or something similar is a little slow to start and safety Center flags immediatelty question. As long as the error can be corrected in a few seconds, then everything should be fine. You don't say that when you click on the Security Center icon it say is that your PC works normally. That's all just a 'time' that is causing the problem.

Problems Windows Security Center, firewall, and Windows Defender.
This problem started about a month in December when I had Windows Vista Home Security 2011 Virus. I followed the steps described in the Guide here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-vista-home-security-2012 to fix (Bleeping Computer). I thought that it would be solved the problem.Recently, I had trouble with my internet. I can connect to my wireless router and everything seems in order, but when I start my computer, I can't view Web pages - I Internet Explorer and Firefox, none of them works. Once I restart my computer, it works like a charm.
While trying to fix this, I realized the Microsoft Security Center and firewall have been disabled. I could not turn them back on. In Services, I neither Security Center or a firewall, and all of the other solutions I tried did not work. Help?
In addition, after checking, the registry values for the Security Center and Windows Defender firewall disappeared. Help please? All the Fixit on the Microsoft Support site failed.

Hello
I have a Dell laptop under Windows Vista Premium. I got it for about three years, and he is upset enough ok tonight. In the middle of browsing the internet, check my email, etc., all but one of my browser windows close at random, and a message appears "windows vista Security Center" whenever I try to open a new window, blocking of the site and to say that the site is dangerous and my system has been infiltrated by a Trojan horse. Then he starts the scan and says that I must buy the full to get everything to work again. I closed everything, since I already have McAfee antivirus and internet security, but it does not, and neither did any other progams. I tried restarting in safe mode to restore a backup point, but Windows does not open in safe mode, rather stick for half an hour in the middle of loading. When I managed to start windows in normal mode, I found that all my past restore points had been erased.
This happened to someone else, and it is fixable without wiping everything?
Thanks in advance,
EmmaHi Emma,
This could be due to a virus on your computer. Try to make a virus on your computer scan to check if your computer is infected.

cant get anti virus program to turn it on in the windows Security Center
I have windows vista and an alert pops up, saying: my antivirus program is disabled. I opened Security Center says AVG anti virus reports that it is turned off. I clicked on the button, and it didn't turn it on. another box pops up asking if I trust this program click Yes, I have confidence in it. Yet once, nothing happens. any suggestions on something that I could try.
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. Windows regularly checks if an antivirus program is installed on your computer, that they are running, and that it is up-to-date. The status of your antivirus program is displayed in Windows Security Center. However, Windows doesn't detect all antivirus programs, and some antivirus programs report their status to Windows.
If you receive notifications related to security on your virus protection software, but you know that your antivirus software is installed and updated, you can follow the steps below to stop receiving these notifications. You should do this only if you are unsure that you have a full, the up-to-date antivirus program installed on your computer and that real-time scanning, which checks every file before it is opened or used, is turned on.
To specify that you are using an antivirus program that Windows does not find
Open Security Center.
Click on protection against malware, and then, under virus protection, click on show me my available options.
In the Windows Security Center dialog box, click on I have an antivirus program that I will control myself. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Security Center displays your antivirus settings as not monitored, and you will not receive more notifications about your virus protection software.
Note
The show me my link options is not available when the Virus protection setting is marked on.

Security Center does not recognize the Windows Security Essentials
Windows Security Essentials does not seem to register with Security Center. Security Center reports that no Virus protection is enabled.
1. I installed Windows XP 32 - bit WGA, activated the product and updated to SP3.
2 security Center starts giving Windows security alerts for Virus protection, because none has been installed.
3. I installed McAffee VirusScan.
4 security Center stopped giving Windows security alerts for Virus protection.
5. I uninstalled McAffee VirusScan.
6 security Center has resumed giving Windows security alerts for protection against the viruses as before.
7. I installed Windows Windows Security Essentials and rebooted.
8. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Windows Security Essentials with no joy.
Windows Security Essentials installation did not prevent Windows security alerts. No Windows Security Essentials registry entry will appear in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Security Center and monitoring. If Microsoft consider essential security to be an antivirus product, then how to Windows Security Essentials register with Security Center?
I understand that this is an information and alert issue only. I understand that Windows Security Essentials works actually ok. I am particularly concerned by the reports. It conditions my deployment of Windows Home Server. Deactivation of surveillance or the alert is not a solution, just a poor quality work around.
In a previous thread, the author of this question even abandoned and has not requested additional assistance. An explanation was given (relevant for Windows 7), but no solution has been offered. Windows XP has not been addressed. http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-security/the-Security-Center-has-not-recorded-an-anti-virus/15ae2383-7ced-4850-A863-f7eb8cc90ee5
I had the same problem for a while now (I'm on xp) and have searched the Internet for a solution but found nothing at the moment.

I'm unable to start Windows Security Center "error 193: 0xc1»
Original title: I cannot start Windows Security Center
Hello
I manage not to launch Windows Security Center, I use windows 7 64-bit.I go to services and local services-click and scroll down to Security Center, I then click on highlight, then click Start, I get a loading bar but then an error message that reads: error 193: 0xc1How can I get the business to start?Thank you very muchNickHello
You did changes to the computer before the show?
Method 1: SFC scanner.
System File Checker (SFC) scan will replace the missing or corrupted system files on your computer.
Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7 system files:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Method 2: I suggest you make a system full scan just to be sure.
Here is a link that will give you information on how to perform a full scan of the system:
http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

I'm guessing that you're referring to a problem involving Security Center that sometimes occurs after the silent update through Windows Update to the new version of MSE. Usually, but not always the problem occurs on computers running XP. This occurred after updates of Windows of today?
If the MSE icon is green then you should be protected and cannot ignore this Security Center warning. The issue seems to be resolved spontaneously after a few days
