Wireless networks Windows Zero configuration is not available

I have a Thinkpad under XP Pro SP3.

Recently, I installed a wireless router and tried to connect the Thinkpad wireless, but the success of withoutr.

I activated the Automatic Configuration Service and the ball of the taskbar says there are available wireless networks, but when I click on the ball, the windows box opens but says that there are no available networks.

If I click on the option of networks to find, he returned after several seconds, only confirming that no network available.

My cable connection is fine. Can I use other laptops wireless without any problem.

  • missing Windows zero configuration service

Running Vista and Netgear router for a few years with no problem, use wireless.   Wireless a few days ago has stopped working. Began to go by the verification of the router (which works very well with ethernet cables) and then discovered that the Windows Automatic Configuration does not exist on my machine - I know it's there in the past as I'd start the service to activate my laptop Dell Inspiron 640 to connect to Netgear.

  • Backup/restore of errors Windows 8 feature is not available in a portable workstation environment

I get the following error message when you try to disable the calendar jobs '

Backup/restore of errors Windows 8 feature is not available in a portable workstation environment

    I'm on a desktop computer,

Thank you James. This procedure has helped and I can see the option to backup again to 8/7 of window control center. What I did wrong in the first place was canceled the backup on an external disk, formatted the disc one plugged a new drive. Then, I was not able to click on the link "Backup." Its now fixed. Is some other problem with the problem of recognition of backup or drive window, try this procedure by Michael below.

Follow these steps to remove the value of register Windows To Go:

    • Open regedit.exe
    • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
    • Delete this value: PortableOperatingSystem

You'll probably notice that the problem reappears when you connect a USB drive in the PC. Subsequent removal of this drive will cause the PC to crash. This occurs because the unique identifiers of the USB drive and the internal HARD disk are the same. To resolve this problem, the simplest method is to "clean" the disc. A cleaning will destroy all data on the disk, so backup first.

    1. Open diskpart.exe
    2. Type "list disk" to determine the number of disk to the USB drive.
    3. Type "select disk #", where # is the number of disk you determined.
    4. Type "own."
    5. Type "exit".

Restart your PC. You can use diskmgmt.msc and diskpart.exe to repartition your drive USB to use it normally.

  • wireless network is no longer listed under "available wireless network.

Have a router MN-500 with modem cable connection. Wireless connectivity has been running successfully for months. Came home last night during a snowstorm - apparently we had lost power temporarily while I was gone, as the clocks were flashing. Turned on my laptop (where I connect to wireless internet) and discovered that my own wireless network was is no longer listed under available wireless networks. Then I noticed on the router all lights were lit on the router with the exception of 4 ports. I disconnected and reconnected. Then I reset with a paperclip. Always shows does not itself. Now, I don't know what to do; even do not know where the shoe pinches. Although I managed to set up the network by myself I'm not a computer expert. We can connect by cable via the router, but my wireless network has apparently disappeared. Any ideas/suggestions? Thank you.

If you connect to the router via a wired connection, you can check the status of the wireless.  Frankly, this router does not provide you with a good security because he can't stand that WEP (do not forget that it is b only). For reasons of safety only, you must consider replacing by a modern router that supports WPA2. If you have computers more former with older operating systems and wireless network cards that don't support WPA, take into account risk - data theft, identity theft, etc.

I think it's an effects of virus or something?  Because yesterday it works really well. How can I fix? Thank you very much

    Hello Hildegard Lydia,

You may experience this problem for a number of reasons. Some common problems that can cause these problems are: drivers damaged or incompatible, updates missing, network connection settings, hardware problems or software or TCP/IP can sometimes be damaged or corrupted.

What is the brand and model of your computer?

Please follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: a component of the Internet connection on your computer is a package of instructions called TCP/IP. TCP/IP can sometimes become damaged or altered. If you can't connect to the Internet and you have tried all other methods to solve the problem, TCP/IP can be causing it.
I suggest you try to reset the TCP/IP stack.

  • Unstable wireless network (windows 7)

I have the unstable wireless network. It goes up and down, very often it is said that there is no internet connection.
I'm a meter the router, I have not all devices that could interrupt my wireless network.  I also tried disabling my wirewall and my computer of viruses (no found) scanning. I have another computer with the cable network, and it works perfectly. I use a router D-Link (DIR - 615). What could be the problem?

It may be worth trying to change the channel that your wireless router is configured to use, there may be interference from other wireless devices or the surrounding networks. What a b/g or n wireless network?

  • Wireless networking works, but cable dose not

My NAT type has been closed and I opened my router page to see if the ports are open, they were not, but the fact is that I've wound up with making a single change to routers setting but now my wired connection does not work but my dose wireless. I have reset the router, the modem, does a system restored, reset the switch and no change. Internet pages just load and load and never expire while my wireless works fine, I do that through my phone, so I'll try to give you this info I can but if I have to type all of this will take a while.

  • Problem with wireless network, Windows 8/8.1, Toshiba Sattelite L50-A-1EH

    Hello MS.

I have problems with my wireless network card. At this point, I think it's maybe a defective hardware. Here's the problem:

I have an access point SSID which connects, but disconnect every 10-15 minutes. It is offline for a minute until it reconnects automatically or if it is disconnected and I have to reconnect manually it reconnects quickly.

The laptop is a Toshiba Sattelite L50-A-1EH. Network card: Atheros AR956x.

To resolve this problem, I tried the following:

    • Install several drivers, Atheros themselves as well as the drivers of Toshiba for this specific model cell phone section.
    • Install these drivers on Windows 8.1, downgraded to Windows 8 (maybe better driver support was my guess, still no luck)
    • Tried driver versions: 0.0.75/0.0.263/0.0.270/0.0.287 (latest)
    • Changed automatic IPv4 DHCP to static IP
    • Modified profile profile manually created for this SSID wireless

In the event viewer Windows 8 under autoconfiguration service WLAN it says: autoconfiguration WLAN service cannot connect to a wireless network.

Reason for the failure: the pilot disconnected all combining.

The router is not the problem, I have several other devices connected to this point of access without any problems, or whatever.

At this point, I think it is a hardware on the Atheros AR956x card problem because I can not imagine that Toshiba would have a product on the market that is pre-installed with Windows 8.1 which does not work drivers.

    Any thoughts? Very much appreciated.

    Hello badr V.

Let me let you know that I finally managed to fix the problem.

I tried a lot of things, but what ended up working was the following:

Updated the BIOS with the latest version (1.6-> 1.7), decommissioning of 8.1 Windows of Windows 8 and installation of driver in charge of Windows 8. For me, it was 10.0.0.247 who continued to work throughout.

    Thanks for the guide if.

    Yours sincerely,
