Select secondary monitor, triple monitor questions

Hello everyone.

I have a Mac Pro on 10.9.5 configured with two dual-DVI video cards.

One of them is running a panel Samsung 27 "(main display with the bar of menus and other things) and a 20" calibrated Cinema Display (to the right and slightly below that primary) that I use for color proofing.

The other GPU half the VRAM so it runs a 17 ' 4:3 screen Benq that I use for auxiliary tasks.

However when I select 'show on the second monitor viewers' in Final Cut Pro X, it displays the viewers on my small Benq instead of my CD.

I've seen several solutions on the web involving the scene one of the monitors as TV Out, but it seems to work with HDMI GPU, as in my case the TV output preferences list is empty.

What I would like to achieve is to have the viewers on my movie screen, the scenario on my main 27 ", and if possible, have the event on my 17 auxilary browser".

Now to show the viewers on my Cinema Display, I have to disconnect the Benq, go to system preferences, click on detect displays, go to FCPX, to allow viewers on the secondary screen, reconnect the Benq, go to System Preferences and detect again. This process is slow and boring.

Anyone know a solution to this?

A big thank you in advance.

Although FCP X do not explicitly lets you choose who will be the first, second and third poster, you can get it to work the way you want.

This requires a little trip in system-> display preferences.

From your message, I get that you are have the menu bar on a single screen - since Mavericks, you can have menus bars in all of your screens.

(This can be changed in the preferences-> Mission control system, by checking "Screens have a separate space", then open a session out and back in).

(The following will work regardless of your choice above)

Do call to your poster 1,2,3. Open the preferences-> display and click Arrangement.

(A) slide small menu bar to display number 1 to number 2. This may move the FCP X display number 2. If this is the case, drag FCP X back to display the number 1.

(B) window-> Show spectators in second screen

Fact.

  • 2 questions on secondary monitor preview - CS4 Windows

As I said in the title, my version is Premiere Pro CS4 on Windows. My system specs are:

    Motherboard: Intel D975XBX2

CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT; Intel Q6700 (2.66 Ghz)

    RAM: 8 GB OCZ Platinum

Graphics card: SA Radeon 4850 1 GB with 2 DVI ports

Hard drives: Western Digital Caviar 320 and 640 GB

OS: Windows 7 RC 64 bit

I have two problems with the secondary monitor in the first preview. My secondary monitor is my TV, one Sony HD TV, connected to the HIS Radeon using a cable that is at one end DVI and HDMI on the other.

When I change the HD, AVCHD or HDV video, the Preview on the TV is not interlaced, it's progressive, as if the first was merging the fields. I know that the radeon is powerful enough to properly display interlaced HD video, if I play a comic that I created of my videos in Totalmedia Theatre 3 he plays them back as good as does the blu - ray player. My guess is that the video plays in the source monitor or timeline in first is not hardware acceleration. Is there a way to force this? Maybe a plugin?

The other problem is that the gamma in the secondary monitor in the first preview is darker that what is supposed to be. I compared the same frame between my camcorder AVCHD and first and at first, it looks much darker. However, when I did the same thing between my camcorder and Sony Vegas, there was no difference. I have to go into control panel of the Radeon and compensate for this, but is there a setting in the creation itself to adjust the gamma?

Problem number one is that you use a computer output of your graphics card (DVI) monitor that is designed to always put a progressive image, because all computer monitors are progressive screens.  It has nothing to do with the first...

  • Notepad opens off screen on the secondary monitor

    Hello

Please bear with me as I'm NOT a Windows person - I usually run Macs. but I'm back to my parents and it's their Windows box.

They are running XP Home SP3. This problem affects all user accounts.

Basically they run a 2 monitor setup - a LCD, a somewhat old (although still perfectly!) Dell CRT reference. The question is about the latter.

Note, I asked my father and he assures me that no applications have been installed since he first noticed this problem. I tried to solve problems better than I can, but I don't have Macs, Windows!

Basically, the notebook want to open on the secondary monitor (running its native resolution of 1024 x 768) completely off the screen (to minimize it, maximize, and close buttons are unavailable). The only way I found to fix it is to reduce the resolution of 600 x 800 and then back to native, but he is a bit of a PITA bread as she has to do every time. As far as I know, the notebook is the only application affected and no new software--or drivers--have been installed since this question bagan occurring. Windows Update is configured to run automatically, even if I don't remember the last time she did it.

I'm sure there must be a quick solution, and easy for this question - if someone would just enlighten me as to what it could be!

    Thank you very much

    Sarah

Please bear with me as I'm NOT a Windows person.

And I'm not a person dual monitor, so I'm not positive that it works.

When Notepad opens, there will be a tab in the taskbar. Click on this and select move. Now, use the arrow keys to get to the screen. Close all other windows except this one and use the cursor to drag the message to the format full screen, or any size you want. File | Output and Windows expected to retain the size when you open it again.

  • 10 Firefox: Bookmarks Menu sparkles and is unusable on the secondary monitor

After the upgrade to Firefox 10, the menu of bookmarks (and other features of the user interface) began to blink when selected. This only happens on my secondary monitor. It does not affect my main monitor. It makes Firefox unusable on the secondary monitor.

    Try turning off hardware acceleration.

    • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

If disable hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

  • Error: "can't stand running in portrait mode" when you try to access Windows Media Center on secondary monitor.

Title: Media center does not open on the main montitor and closed because school is portrait. How can I fix?

In Windows Vista Media Center opens on my secondary monitor instead of my main monitor. Because the secondary is in portrait mode that Windows Media closes with the message "does not support running in portrait mode. I disabled the secondary and rebooted Media Center which works well, but I don't want to have to turn off my high school whenever I want to get something in the Media Center... always on the second monitor by default. How to run on the main screen, because it won't let me start if both screens are activated. I have to use my secondary back in fashion landscape to move the Media Center to return to the main Setup screen? It's simply ridiculous from the start.

Let me answer your line by line:

    > Description of the question, I understand that you have a problem with Windows Media Center on the secondary screen. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Yes. This is what it says in the title and in the body of the text... was it not QUITE CLEAR.

    > 1) you have made any changes on the computer before this problem?

What does that mean? Who on Earth has a blank computer that has never been touched running on two monitors? Of course, there has been changes? What exactly you want to know?

I find this question to a complete loss of all time and wonder what kind of political support requires that ask you such a question absurd. Please fell free link my feelings on this topic to your agency for my account.

(> 2) which monitor do you have configured as default view? (Primary or secondary)

The primary is the default value. The secondary could be the value by default if I didn't say that Media Center opens on secondary education and not on HAND (Please read this as default, everyone in the world does) monitor.

    > Method 1: I suggest you to change the display in extended mode and check if the problem persists.

The display was already in extended mode.

    > Method 2: if the issue continues, I would also suggest update you the drivers for the secondary monitor and make as primary while the other monitor is disabled then try to turn the screen and check if it helps.

Why update drivers would change anything. It would not be... the problem lies in the reporting to the Media Center of the portrait mode, that has nothing to do with the hardware drivers; they report portrait mode very well, thank you. As for making primary and turning, wondering if there is anything that I could do otherwise than to resort to having to play with the settings of the monitor in the query, and I don't have to make primary of all... just back to the landscape and backward Media Center elementary school. This does not work... but should I have to resort to something which is, more or less, a workaround if the problem lies in the Media Center and not my monitor settings? The answer should be no, and incidentally, Media Center, once started and settled in portrait orientation (in windowed mode, otherwise you couldn't move) works fine, as long as you do not close it while it is still in this mode, because then he will refuse to start for no reason other than the programmer who designed it seems not know beans orientation or multiple monitors. It's funny that although Media Center does not default to the main monitor, it sends the message of demolition to this same screen by default.

To the people looking at the end who will not read everything above... it is what to do:

Back secondary to landscape mode and launch Media Center. Put the Media Center in windowed (not fullscreen) mode and move it will remind the main monitor... it will require a bit of hocus-pocus with the mouse if you cannot put the monitor physically return to the landscape, try it, you'll see. Close Media center so that it restarts next time it opens on the main screen. Reset the secondary back to portrait. VOILA! See you soon. (Please read this as a courtesy and not as applause.)

  • Can I set up a secondary monitor to the HD on my iMac mid 2011

Can I set up a secondary monitor to the HD on my iMac mid-2011 with no problems. I cannot afford to upgrade to the new iMac 27-inch and wanted to update my monitor.

Is this possible on the Mid 2011 iMac?

    Yes.

Your best option is to choose a good monitor that has Display Port or DVI input and shy away from those who only have HDMI and VGA input.

For a display Port monitor you will need a Mini Display Port to Display Port cable if it is not provided with the monitor.

For a DVI monitor you will need to a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter and a DVI cable.

    Hi Fraser

As far as I know it of not possible to set the external monitor as the main screen on startup.
But what the graphics card is installed on your laptop?

But is it possible to automatically activate the external display and set it to the main monitor without using the docking station?

  • Safari opens on the secondary monitor

I have two monitors 27 "and Safari insists on opening on the secondary monitor, no matter what I do. All this experience and have you been able to solve it?

Whenever it happened, it was because I dragged a window or a tab there.  At one point, I closed Safari.  Then when I opened it again, he would open the 2nd monitor.

    What I did:

When Safari opens on the screen 'wrong', enter a tab open and drag it to the other monitor, then let go.  You should have Safari open on both monitors.  You must also have a menu bar of Safari on both monitors.  Open the window on the monitor that you don't want Safari to open with.  The Menu, file, close this window (command-W).  You should now have that a single Safari window open on the monitor of your choice.  Go menu, Safari, quit Safari.  Then try to reopen the Safari.  It should open on the screen of your choice.

I can't find a setting for the default screen for Safari.

If this happens again, make sure the last window you are closing is on the screen of your choice.

I hope this helps!  Let us know...

  • Detection of position of a secondary monitor

Is there a function that tells me that my secondary monitor is to the left or to the right of the primary monitor?

I paint 2D objects on a vi that will monitor is displayed on the primary or secondary, to the left or right and used the bounds FP.monitor property to resize the vi and find the origin. But that only gives me the width of the total screen - I can tell if the workspace is one or two long screen sizes, not where they are. I tried out using the panel.bounds, but it's a little messy.

If so, you can use .NET to find additional information.  Here's an example to help you get started:

  • Is it possible to set up a secondary monitor using a touch screen of Envy 15 t-j000 with Windows 8

When I bought my laptop, I was told that I could use a secondary monitor to display several documents, spreadsheets, Web sites, etc.  I was also told that there is a connection on the laptop, but it was not.

Welcome to the HP, Phoenix forum.

According to the Guide of Maintenance of system for the Envy 15, you might have a HDMI port on the left side of the laptop.

HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC and HP ENVY TouchSmart PC - Maintenance and Service Guide 15 laptop

Page 15 of the Service Guide:

You must also have at least one or two ports high-speed USB 3.0 on each side of the laptop.  Note that if your laptop supports it, as the USB 3.0 #4 is also a USB 3.0 port - an interesting option of load.

One of these port types can be used to connect an external monitor compatible HDMI.

If you must use USB 3.0 ports because your computer does not come with a HDMI connection port, then you must buy a USB 3.0 to HDMI .  NOTE: The example shown in the link is just an option - many brands of these converters exist. You should consider buying any brand that you like.  Don't forget to buy a converter that responds to the requirements of resolution of your monitor - buy for the quality and features.
