  See the help of Activation & deactivation and follow the links, so you can disable your CS3 (via chat). Be sure to have your serial number available. Then you should be able to activate on the new drive.

  It seems that for such a fundamental problem, I should be able to communicate more directly with Adobe.

  Based on a recent announcement, it is possible, you can find the serial number on a box in the box... a box that is not obviously easily removable.  As Steve said, if you are still unable to locate the serial number, you will need to contact the Amazon seller and ask that they provide you with what you bought.

• Successfully installed, but cannot be updated.  Error "serial number is not to qualify the product."

  I installed Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium (CS5) on a new PC (Windows 8.1).  Installation was successful.  I uninstalled on old PC and it disabled.  My problem is that I can't update.  Without updates, I can't read the most recent pictures of Canon (so I can't use Bridge or PhotoShop).  In fact the installation the first time, I put in wrong number of product Adobe (I believe that Elements 8.0, I bought years ago).  I have reinstalled twice using the serial number correct, but same result: I can't update programs and get an error "serial number is not to qualify the product '...  Help, please.  Dave

  I just brought a new Mac Mini installed my Photoshop CS3 on it. When I opened the application my serial number does not work because I used it too many times. My last computer fell down, so I can't take off Photoshop it. I followed a tutorial that had two options:

  1 set the clock on your computer uninstall and re-install.

  2 delete the following folders in/Library/Application Support / Adobe: Adobe PCD, backup and caps. And re-install

  Now, when I try to install Photoshop CS3 it installs yet! There is a cross instead of a check mark next to everything. I tried the repair disk in disk utilities, and told me that there is nothing wrong with the CD.
