    Thank you.

If your laptop has the factory settings you can do it as described on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

Please note: this drive HARD recovery option works with the factory only settings.

  • Satellite A300-15 has back to factory settings

    Hello!

I have an old Satellite A300-15 and I want to go back to factory settings after almost seven years of never format the hard drive.

I did a little research on this 'how... "but I still don't know if the laptop comes with a windows recovery or not.

I have another laptop with a score of "windows recovery", but in my toshiba, the only thing I see is a recovery of HARD drive file in my E: partition. I don't really know if that helps the reinstallation of windows.

So if I reset the laptop with the method 'laptop computer Tower, hold the blah blah 0 button"it completely format my C: and need to reinstall windows or not?

    (Running Windows Vista)

How it works with the recovery image installation, you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

Start your laptop with F8 and choose the option to repair your computer. Follow the instructions on the screen and you will be able to install the original recovery image.

Installation of recovery described called the installation of HARD drive recovery. With other words, saved on the HARD disk in the folder HDDRecovery recovery image will be reinstalled on the C partition only and the second partition of HARD drive will not be deleted or formatted.

In my opinion, that you create the recovery using disc (DVD) preinstalled creator Toshiba recovery disc. You can use created bootable disks to install original Vista. When you use discs, the whole HARD disk will be deleted, formatted, new partitions created and installed Vista end.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Satellite A300 - how to reset to factory settings?

    Hello everyone,

first of all, sorry for my English, it is not my native language and I do a lot of mistakes, I hope you can understand me correctly.

My problem is that I have a toshiba Satellite A300 provided with Windows Vista op time after I have bought I installed windows 7 on it (you know, so new that I have to try). Now, my problem is I want to reset my phone. I have the recovery disks, and the folder HDDRecovery D: but my computer cannot read.

What can I do? I tried a lot of things... How can I reboot my computer to factory settings?

    Hope you can help me,

    Best regards.

    Hi biguri,.

After the installation of another operating system, you will need to use the Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings. That means Vista preloaded with all the drivers and tools you get back if you boot from the recovery disc and follow the on-screen instructions.

But don't forget to make a backup of the important files like photos, videos, etc., because the recovery disk will wipe the entire HARD disk.

You have problems with the recovery disk?

  • Re: Satellite A300 cannot start, cannot use the factory recovery

Hi all, I have a Satellite A300, which gave me problems in the past few weeks...

    I use Windows Vista

There are about 2 months in the beginning of the laptop problem, it restarts itself automatically before enter in windows (while in the windows loading screen, no blue screen, screen just suddenly darkens and restarts itself), but it will get finally in windows successfully after a few loops

but about 3 weeks ago, it just keeps looping and never get into windows, good news, it is that it can capture mode safe without problem

I've done everything I can to try and save, as play with msconfig, drivers, removing the Rams etc, but not luck

so, I save everything in safe mode and decided to restore the machine factory, but the problem is that when I boot up the computer by pressing 0 and enters the recovery screen, reboot loop will happen!

any idea? or y at - it another way to restore to factory without touching the windows installed in my laptop? is it a hardware problem or software?

I thought about the creation of recovery disks but my cd drive is not working properly, and I don't want to take the risk of buying an external cd drive not knowing not if the problem can be solved...

    Thank you very much!

    >.. .i don't want to take the risk of buying an external cd drive not knowing not if the problem can be solved...
That of right, but you must understand that it is not easy on this virtual path to offer an accurate explanation and diagnosis for your problem.

It is not easy to tell whether it is hardware or software related issue. best way to test is installation of recovery image. Recovery image is tested and if there are no some portable hardware problem should work fine. How to install the recovery image, which you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

    >.. .or is there another way to restore to factory without touching the windows installed in my laptop?
Something like this is not possible. Windows that you use now needs to be reinstalled. I don't know why you the laptop restarts, but it's also the risk of recovery image installation. In case this recovery image installation will be interrupted, you will have two problems:
-image of original recovery saved on your HARD drive will be unusable
-you will not be able to start t

In your situation the best is to minimize this risk and have original recovery DVD that can be used if something goes wrong.
    > but the problem is that when I boot up the computer by pressing 0 and enters the recovery screen, reboot loop will happen!
Can you please explain what is exactly happening? Is - this laptop is simply cut off / go to the coast and then reboot again or what?

  • Re: Status of factory on Satellite A300

My English is not very good and I do not quite understand, so I don't know where to post my problem. Here's my problem, I hope you can help me to post in the right forum.

I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300, PC 9 months ago. I had problems with a virus result is that despite clean-up and disinfection, the computer is still infected and I refused access to hard drives and registration.

I thought restoring the operating system factory preinstaled (hopefully, this is the solution and not the formatting) and I read the manual to do it (I did have the precaution to create a rescue CD). In the manual it takes from F8 is committed to "to fix the system" and said no more. I searched on the Internet if there are a few additional details more I should know, but I have not found anything, because of this I am writing to you. Also, I would like to know where this cache partition where these files, they are not not to commit the hold of erasure. She wouldn't survive a formatting? It is not the case, I have not yet formatted the PC, but I would like to know it for the future.

Without many words - please check http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
You will find an exact description how use recovery image and reinstall Vista.

If you have any other questions please let us know.

  • Satellite A300-1QD - how to restore Vista preinstalled?

    Hey,.

I made a big mistake, two years ago. I installed windows 7 on my Satellite A300-1QD but on the laptop Windows Vista was installed and I have no recovery disk, but I have the original serialnumber of it.

Are there opportunities to put Windows Vista on the laptop without buying a new version of Windows Vista?

    welcome them

    steste123

    Hello

If you don t have a recovery disk, you must order such a Toshiba drive directly to restore preinstalled Windows Vista with all the drivers and tools (factory settings):
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

But it s not free as far as I know it costs about 30 Euros.

So I t understand why you didn't create the recovery disc yourself. Everything is mentioned in the user manual

  • Can I send by Satellite A300-y00 for the recovery procedure

I had the problem in my Satellite A300-y00, which are viruses, trojan or more than threats.
I would like to ask if it is possible to refer to Toshiba to reformat with a new new?
I mean will they install the same software with everything as a new included in order to remove all the threats.

    It will cost more?

    Hello

As I m not wrong not the A300 was equipped with HARD drive recovery option.
This means that you can grab the laptop and set it to factory settings very easy and without use of the Recovery DVD!

Then turn on the laptop, press the F8 key and choose the option called fix my computer.
Then, a new screen should appear and you need to choose the last option called Toshiba Recovery or something like that.
Then follow the instructions on the screen.

The whole HARD drive must be formatted and new operating system with all the drivers must be installed

  • Re: Satellite A300-234 - product key does not work with another disk the

Broke the new Satellite A300-234, flied Windows Vista. I did not the backup copy of the system. At the system from a disk of another laptop Toshiba A200-23d.

The key away. What should do?

    Hello

The point is that the product key from the underside of the laptop can t be used with another drive in Windows. It s just for the preinstalled OEM version and doesn t work with other versions.

Normally you n t have to enter a product key if you are using the Toshiba recovery disc because it contains a picture of the factory settings and is different from a disc of Microsoft Vista.

Anyway, as said Akuma you can order a new drive Toshiba Recovery directly.
The another model of laptop recovery disk will not work because the hardware is different.

    Good bye

  • No area of HDD on the Satellite A300-203

Hello! I have a laptop satellite a300-203 and I want to recovery factory but anyway when I try it says no hard disk space, restart the computer and press F8 to recovery from there with the recovery dvd but when I insert reinstall drive nothing anyway change, any help please?

    Hello

Start your laptop and press F2 to enter the BIOS settings. On the first page (main), you can see some basic information on CPU, speed of the processor, RAM and also on HARD drive.

When you enter the BIOS settings check that and then set the default settings. You can do this by using F9button (see background task with options bar).

  • Re: satellite A300 screen turns off after the toshiba logo, will not boot from the CD/DVD

Hello, I have this problem with Toshiba satellite A300.

I deleted several files and folders of my drives C and E. To restart the computer, it only shows the Toshiba logo then a slightly gray white screen on a thorough inspection. Whenever I press CRL + ALT + DELETE, the computer restarts and behaves in the same way.

I tried to use an external monitor, but there is no difference. The tent to start using a CD/DVD, same behaviour occurs, it does not start and screen remains blank after the Toshiba logo, I tried even to change g the order of boot, but in vain.

    What could happen?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It seems that you deleted system files and Windows no longer starts. Have you tried to restore the disk image factory settings or hard drive recovery? Or do copy the Windows installation... It is easier to reinstall rather fix the problem.

  • Lack of "Repair" computer in advanced search Boot - Satellite A300

My new Satellite A300 does not load and I didn't have a chance to make a recovery CD.

I did a backup of the hard drive and now want to restore the settings in the beginning.

I tried to download a Vista recovery disk but the laptop does not start.

By pressing F8 after turned it on does not give me the option to repair the computer and pressed zero start up makes no difference.

Is there a way to tell the computer to look at the hard drive partitioned section and start from there?

    Help is highly appreciated

    Hello

It s really strange that there is no repair my computer option in the start menu under way when you press the F8 key.

However, you can order the recovery DVD Toshiba from here:

Using the recovery DVD set the laptop back to the factory settings.

  • Satellite A300 - 1 M 1 - Format without recovery CD?

    Hello!

I have my Satellite A300 with Windows Vista for a while now, but it started to give me some problems a few days ago.

All of a sudden, windows not to load, it frozed on the windows logo screen. Because I needed to retrieve files I have installed ubunto from a cd and I was able to get the files on the trunk. Now and ever since I have this partition whenever I get to the screen where I chose the partition and that you try to start windows, a black screen and nothing happens! So I thought let's all format, but I just can't do the recovery or the terminal screen. I tried each key and the thing I could find or remember, but he still goes to the partition screen.

I lost track of my recovery that CD so is there a way I can format without the recovery CD?

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you want your only chance to return to factory settings is Toshiba recovery disc. Generally speaking, it s not a problem if you lost because you can order from Toshiba, but this service is not for free:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Alternative, you can use a normal Microsoft Windows disk. All the drivers and tools that you can get on the official website of Toshiba.
