SF302 - 08 p & MP

What is the difference between the SF302 - 08 p and SF302-08MP switches? Comparative table is the same.

Thank you

DJE

Hi Douglas,.

MP means "Maximum PoE" which means that the specified full PoE 15.4 Watts are available simultaneously on all ports.

Best regards

Zsolt

    Hello

I have a SF302 switch - 08 p and I'm looking for an option to analyze all streams on it. Thank you for your answer

Hi Emmanuel, this product does not support anything like Netflow. Your next bet is SNMP and who would probably not do what you want, if you are specifically looking for the Netflow feature sets.

One thing I have a question, when you say "analyze the flow of all", does that mean that you want to capture all the traffic, you can record and read it again? The closest you can do with is doing a session on the monitor for a VLAN integer and launch wireshark there to capture the data. I'm not sure that's what you want, but if you want to capture all packets and save it somewhere, it's a way to do it, but a bad way to do it.

  • Configuration of VLAN Switch SF302 - 08 p

    2nd floor

I tried to do the config in the identical to the #1 switch #2 switch, but something still does not work.

This is probably a configuration issue VLAN, or what?

    Thank you.

    Ken Watkins

Hi Ken, the interfaces between switches must both vlan of the port.

    example of

    VLAN 1

    VLAN 2

port 1 connects to port 1 of the second switch

    config t

    interface gi01

    switchport mode trunk

switchport trunk allowed vlan add 2

The ports between switches must be vlan unidentified native, all other VLAN Tag. In my example, 1u, 2 t.

  • SF302 - 08 p Switch VLAN problem

    Hello

I have a problem to set up a SF 302 - 08 p switch for VLAN. Here's my setup. I have two switches that are configured almost the same. The first switch is a SF200 - 24 p with 12 ports on VLAN1 and VLAN2 12 ports. The port of G1 is the trunk entering with 1UP, 2 t and all port of G2 at 1UP, 2 t connection to the G1 port on the switch of SF302-8. The two VLAN works OK on the SF200-24 switch. The port on the SF200-24 is set on trunk 1UP, 2T, and G1 on the SF302-8 port is set on trunk 1UP, 2 t. The composition of port VLAN on the SF302-8 figure to the VLAN 1 port 1-4 is 1UP and VLAN 2 port 5-8 is set to 2UP. Ports 1 to 4 work OK but the 5-8 does not connect to the vlan 2. I downloaded the latest firmware for the SF302 but it did not make a difference. Any suggestions on what I'm missing?

Dan, send me an email with a number I can reach you. I am available at 4 pm Eastern.

Update to this topic, we discovered a problem of layer 1, the switch upstream was a misplaced thread, leading to the port is misconfigured.

  • Bandwidth limited by switch SF302 - 08 p?

Just put in a SF302 switch - 08 p with of two AP541N. Just a Comcast modem connects in the switch with two Pat, nothing else. Speedtest via the modem cable with nothing plugged it is 48Mbps. Then connect a single switch the laptop shows a 33Mbps speedtest. Then, with the two connected AP541N and using the same laptop via WiFi, I had seen systematically 10 Mbps for download. But right now the cable modem directly showed me almost 50Mbps at a speed test.

Have by default in all devices, Cisco, factory and poured on the settings and it seems that the throttling is disabled. Suspecting perhaps it's for the quality of service and optimize the voice, but I see specific locations in devices where I could name optimization of voice and those who are not allowed. Then started thinking about tweaking wireless spectrum, but did not want to do anything too unstable.

Anyone else run into this? Am I missing something obvious?

    -Ed

    Hi Ed,

This is not typical of the switch. First of all, please make sure that the switch is at least the 1.1.2.0 firmware, this is the most stable version. There is a new version from this week 1.2.7.76 if you want to give this a go as well. After the flash/update firmware, factory of resets the device.

I recommend starting with Layer 1 and layer 1 related parameters. As a trading port. If you check the port management, you're negotiating 10, 100, 100, full or half-duplex? Don't you see any kind of beating on the log port? (link up, down on the link to one of the ports). Can you try to disable the EEE (energy efficient ethernet) throughout the world and on the parameters of the interface? If you go to the smart port section and go to the interface parameter, it seems that the smart port negotiated anything with the modem?

  • Cisco SF302 - 08 p (SRW208P-K9-NA) support for Cisco IP 7942 phones

    Hi all

I'm looking for, citing the SF302 - 08 p for a customer who will have three small offices interconnected via single-mode fiber. I plan connecting them to a 3560 switch. Each office will have not more than 3-7942 phones. I have reviewed the notes on this switch, and it seems that it should support this type of phone with no problems. Could you tell if you have run into problems of support/reliability with this switch and the 7942 s?

    Thank you

    Hi RevereORL,

    My concern is that there is;

    • the slight nuances or differences between the configuration of the CLI on the SG300 compared to the range of catalyst.
    • I am also very very slightly concerned post service customer interaction of the TAC and HWC, but these days there is much more to talk between these two support groups cross.
    • Different SKU SFP for fibre-optic connectivity Series GLC for catalyst and set of Construction on 300, although I have no problem with the plug of the GLC SKU of my product in the 300 series.

The SF302 - 8 p has of a POE budget defined as 62W on all 8 ports or 62 watts / 8 ports = 7.75 watts about which may be drawn from each port.

Power should not be a problem with the software upgrade to 1.1.1.8 300 series now also supports POE before standard as well as the 802.3af...

I guess the beauty of buying from a dealer, and keep the packaging, is that you can validate your application.

    Give it a try.

    Best regards, Dave

  • Getting disconnected when you add an interface VLAN

    Hello

I am trying to configure a switch SF302-08MP in a test environment with a couple of VLAN. A default state, I configured the device to be in mode L3, added a VLAN and then added an IP interface to this VLAN. The problem I have is that as soon as I add the IP interface for the VLAN I create I lose connection to the switch immediately and either have to reconfigure the interface through the CLI or restart the device to lose my changes.

I realize, I can configure the box through the CLI to find my connection and complete the configuration of my VLAN, but I'm trying to get off a good process to configure it through the web interface (outside the facility in L3 initial mode of course).

For that, I connect to the IP address by default on the VLAN 1 (192.168.1.254). The measures taken include:

    1. access the CLI interface and set the mode of L3

    2 reset

    3. access to the switch via a web browser on 192.168.1.254 and login

    4. Add VLAN 2 (management of VLANS / create a VLAN)

    5. Add the Interface IP (IP Configuration / Interface IPv4, selecting VLAN2 when you complete the add interface of dialogue)

6 lose the connection to 192.168.1.254 when you click on apply

I did this on other switches in the 300 series in the past in the same way without problem, but for some reason, that this switch 8 ports gives me problems.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello Craig,.

On the 300 series switches, when you add the first IP interface it will remove the interface "generic / by default. Of course, this will remove your access as you saw.

Simple around this problem is first of all create a new interface for the vlan 1. You can set this in the 192.168.1.254 or together for what you plan to use.

Once done, you should now be able to create interfaces for other VLANs without problem.

  • The 300 series switches are compatible with detection of PoE before standard in old phones Cisco?

The 300 series switches are compatible with detection of PoE before standard in old phones Cisco? They don't seem to be (7902G don't turn on when it is connected to a SF302-08MP with firmware version 1.1). What no need special configuration on the switch to enable this detection?

  • How dumb you down a small business SF300 until a transparent bridge?

I use the Cisco SF302 switches as a connection to wireless devices that will be the link between the two buildings.

    In this configuration: Cisco 3570 in building 1 > Cisco SF302 > 1 wireless bridge construction > construction 2 Wireless Bridge > Cisco SF302 > Cisco 3560 in building 2.

It seems that by default the SF302 are not acting as bridges, transparent and just leave all my 802. 1 q through traffic.

How dumb them down for that all 802. 1 q traffic is treated by the 3570 and 3560 with just SF302 acting under the bridge let my 802. 1 q to cross safely?

    Thank you.

By default, VLANs are not automatically added to trunk ports. You must create them and assign them to the trunk ports. This has been done for security reasons.

-to plug my laptop directly into the RV180 that is used as a router WAN, I have beautiful wanspeeds Mbit/s approx. 98

-When you plug into the switch 8-port SF302 - 08 p it's binding to the RV180, the maximum speed drops to 25 / 30 Mbps
