When I run SFC/scannow, I get the result that you see above. It is supposed to be repaired. When I run again, I get exactly the same answer. When I restart the computer and run it, I get the SAME ANSWER. What is going on??? He repairs it or not? If that's the case, why it keep saying that he ' finds files corrupted and managed to fix their "? If not, why it keep saying they are repaired? Am I missing something here? I looked in the CBS.log newspaper and find nothing, but I'm not familiar with what I'm looking at. I would like to add as an attachment if there was a way to do it. Anyone has an idea of what is going on here please let me know.

Thank you.

I was puzzled with this constant appearance of inetres.admx and inetRes.adml in SFC analysis newspapers.  So I researched and found out that the Vista system file cache is not properly updated and SFC will then copy on older versions of these files, after which another service will copy on the good of the cache files of IE9.  This of course sets up the same problem once more when you run scannow SFC.  I guess we can ignore this as the correct files back in place, but for the sake of clarity, it is probably best to delete and reinstall IE9.  The defect appears for Vista SP2 when is IE8 IE9, but is rejected when switching from IE7 for IE9.

    Hey,.

I have a problem and I hope that some of you may be able to answer. I have a desktop running Windows 8 x 64 which, no matter what I try, just usually don't forget I connect WIFI at home. Every time I start the PC I have to go into the details again once I tried everything (several times), new drivers and virtually all of the suggestions emanating from the research on various forums.
I say this because when I tried to run the "sfc/scannow" in an elevated cmd, it comes up with an error.

The wireless works fine on my laptop and my GFs Macbook.

  • new laptop WMP does not done sfc/scannow and it had not been violated

I just got this laptop barely two weeks played WMP and had it pinned to the taskbar, but I have this marking, then evil. In properties it says that the device was working properly. says that all diagnostic tools was fine, the sfc/scannow in the prompt doesn't say there is no violation I tried system restore, but doesn't seem to help don't know more

    Hello

    1. What is the problem exactly are you facing Windows Media Player?

    2. what version of operating system do you use?

    3. are you able to open WMP?

    4. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    5. do you get an error message? If Yes, what is the exact full error message?

    Follow the methods below:

    Method 1:

You can try to run the Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter and check if this solves the problem. Check out the following link to do the same thing:

Open the troubleshooter in the Windows Media Player settings.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-settings-Troubleshooter

Method 2: Disable and re-enable Windows Media Player of "turn windows features on or off".

Features on or off Windows activate: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-features-on-or-off

Hope the above information is helpful.

I don't know that this is not what you want to hear.  However, from the beginning of your notes, you said that the system was installed with an invalid Windows operating system CD and since you bought Windows XP SP 2, which is the authentic product.  If I am wrong please correct me.

If you try to run SFC scannow from Windows XP SP2, you will continue to receive the request for the additional CD cover Service Pack 3.

    If you have two options:

    (1) do a fresh install with the Windows XP SP2 and upgrade to SP3 on sites I've proposed below.

    or

    (2) simply download the Service Pack 3 of one of the websites below and use this CD to finish the scannow SFC.

I think you'd be a lot better off takeing the time to back up all your important documents and files.

Go to: http://www.gtopala.com/SIW-download.html and download the free version of SIW.

This will give you at least with all the files and informaition about your device drivers that are currently on your system now.  I had the IT Pro version for years and would be with her.  I know that this version provide you all the keys for any product you may have and no password specified for email or the system.  I know that the free version will not provide passwords, but it can provide you with product keys. If you have lost or misplaced one of your applications can be valuable.  Most of the time, you can download the product if you have the key you're in business.

Errors that you receive above I think that you are still able to access the internet.  If yes I would like to download the SP3 since

Microsoft Downloads under: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=5B33B5A8-5E76-401F-BE08-1E1555D4F3D4&displaylang=en it's about 316.4 MB and it may take about 2 hours, but it is worth.

Of course, once this is done you should be able do a fresh install with the purchased Windows XP Sp 2 now you can install the Service Pack from Windows Update or make a CD from the above address or the ISO image from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=2FCDE6CE-B5FB-4488-8C50-FE22559D164E.

I hope this has been helpful.

The only errors that are really me you listed above were the following.  That's why I take the time to backup and reinstall.

  • Problems with windows update, run sfc/scannow and boot into safe mode. (Vista Home Premium)

    Hi all

Please bear with me here that I try to explain all the questions I have with my computer right now. I'll try to explain everything that self-organization as possible, but if you need more information or file papers to provide a solution more precise, do it me know.

To start, I use a HP Pavilion dv6000 series (dv6748us to be exact) with Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit) installed. (Service pack 2). About 6 months ago I got this laptop from what I believe was the conflicker virus (kept forwarding pages, arrested updates and antivirus programs, etc.) and I managed to get Windows Update works again. My help and Support did not work well, it only worked in Mode without failure, so I did some research and tried a bunch of suggested corrections (update the registry, etc.) and got it work yet once again. I don't know if one of the tools that I used all by setting the Help & Support could have caused problems that I now (as I literally tried everything under the Sun until I got to work), but my Windows Update does not work properly again.

A few weeks ago, I installed some updates and restarted the computer, but updates did not finish install on reboot. He said the usual "Configuring Updates, do not turn off your computer", but never showed percentage complete or whatever it is. It restarted, and when I open Windows Update, he said the last time I checked the updates has never been (obviously not true), and when I tried to check the updates, it jumped right to the message telling me I have to restart my computer to complete the installation of updates. She continues to do everytime I open Windows Update. From time to time, I try to restart it, just to see if it will work, and he never does.

I spent hours trying all the solutions I could find in Google. I tried to run system update readiness tool, which seemed to run correctly (but does not solve the problem). I then tried the difficulty it for Windows Update, and it does not solve the problem. (It might be important for me to mention that I also have problems with the difficulty It Center itself, too. Individual tools like that for Windows Update is running, but the difficulty It Center program keeps giving me the error message that "a problem is preventing the troubleshooting tool to start.") I also tried to rename the pending.xml file, and then later I deleted it, after reading in another forum that you rename the file could cause system instabillity or something like that.

Unfortunately, I can't use system restore to solve all my problems, because all my previous restore points have disappeared (I don't know if the virus wiped out them, or if the computer removed on its own) but restore points only I checked are those that have been created recently, during the time I had these problems.

I tried running sfc/scannow nothing helped, as he continues to tell me that there is a pending repair, but repair pending never ends. I tried to use the command of /revertpendingactions of dism.exe/image:C\/cleanup-image in the command prompt of recovery center to stop it pending repairs, and that has not worked because it claims that dism.exe that does not exist / is not a valid command. No matter what I try, I can't have this pending repair or my updates to complete pending.

I tried to boot mode safe several times as well and he hung up on crcdisk.sys when starting every time.

Being that I can't use sfc/scannow, System Restore, or get into Safe Mode, I'm really lost as to what I should do next. I'm honestly not sure if the problems are related, but I just thought it would make sense to list them all in one place.

Please note that I don't want to re - install Windows Vista, or don't I think I need, because the computer works very well for most. (I use it for typing this right now). I had much rather bring all the features on mine, which I believe can be achieved with the help of the right person.

If someone could provide me with suggestions/solutions, it would be greatly appreciated! Certainly, it would relieve a lot of stress for me!

DISM is a thing of Windows 7. First test the hardware.

    Standard hardware troubleshooting

First to test we can the material. Material defects can appear as many software defects, that's why we need to test the material first...

Follow these steps in order. Defects of memory can cause disk corruption, disk failures can cause corruption of the disk. Damaged disc causes corrupted files (which SFC may be able to fix). If you get a stop error and after return. Do not run chkdsk with faulty memory.

    Diagnosis of memory
If you have not run a diagnosis of memory, please do. Click on Start - Control Panel - choose Classic view in the left pane - choose Administrative Tools - then memory diagnostic tool.

    Run chkdsk

PS 7 and 55 are auto repair codes where windows repair disk errors silently on the fly. 52 is the SMART warning.

For the results of the SFC
Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator. Type (or copy and paste by clicking in the command prompt window and choose Paste).

    findstr/c: "[SR] cannot" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log|more "

It will be able to see which files are corrupted.

    To see if there

    findstr/c: "[SR] repair" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log|more

Error 80070490 continues.  Fix - It of MS, analysis system, sfc/scannow tool and more do not help.
I can't use the Windows installation CD because the 'upgrade' option is NOT available!
Seems like everything is against me trying to find a way to solve this error.  I have run these scans,... rebooted several times and no luck.   Spin on a startup select too trying to solve probs.  I use MS Security Essentials that updates automatically. : (Had this problem 6 months ago and email support walked me through to solve.)  However, the link to that support is no longer available.   I would LOVE it if MS Fix - It really solve problems WU, but not for me and it looks like a lot of people posting here have the same chance.

Running Windows Vista Home Edition with SP 1 and SP 2.   All Windows updates are automatic until almost a month ago.

Microsoft Security Essentials auto updates, scheduled full scans.  Scanned for malware and some found and removed.
All MS site suggested I have try, I tried.  Fix, it doesn't do a thing.
    HELP :)

  • SFC/scannow stuck at 70 percent and I get the message "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation".

Original title: whenever I run SFC/scannow I get to 70 percent and I get the message "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation". How can I fix this problem and complete the scan?

Please answer with repair options and details on where to go to get there.

If safe mode can't complete, it can be continuous malware (run malwarebytes) so clean, you will probably have to run a repair installation.

Please download the free version of Malwarebytes.
    Update immediately.
Do a full scan of the system
Let us know the results at the end.

  • SFC/scannow detected files corrupt in Windows 7 64-bit it can not solve, and continues to deny me access to fix.

I ran SFC/scannow this evening and received an error message saying corrupted files had been found, but could not be fixed, and gave me this path to find the journal and view and/or correct the files.  I read a few articles in this community on how to access the logs as an administrator.  No instructions in all of the arrticles works, I denied access on any line to display the files and I can't have them, either.  My laptop Asus G74Sx actually works very well, these corrupt files are something that I should worry and spend hours and hours trying to coax my laptop to me as an administrator?  Can someone please tell me how to enter the newspaper and how to fix corrupted files?

First step, run DISM to correct errors.  Instructions located in the underside of wiki

Please run a check of system files (SFC) & DISM if you're on win 7 or higher

All instructions are in our Wiki article below... If you have any questions please ask us.

Second step.  Re run SFC.  If errors occur in the log upload them on a single disc and we give a link to it in your next post

There are MANY false positives and false negatives.

  • sfc/scannow does not box gets up and starts to run

I want to run a scan had sfc/scannow, all put in place with private admin and press on enter it gets first line up and then stops and says can not run this analysis

  • Windows 7 and 8.1 Windows sfc/scannow - bad results - how to fix?

I ran sfc/scannow on both my Office Windows 7 & my laptop running Windows 8.1 & both concluded with the same question.

"Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are provided in the CBS.log C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log journal"

I learned that the only way to view this log C:\Windows\Logs\CBS.log
    is to:

Click on start Orb > type cmd in the search box
    · Right click on cmd in the results above > click on run as administrator
    · At the prompt, type notepad c:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log, and then press ENTER.

(1.) I'm a beginner at all this, I've never done this before, to take it SLOW! How can we determine which components are corrupt in the CBS.log newspaper?

2.) how I would fix the corruption?

(3.) if it helps any, I own the Microsoft Operating for two Windows 7 installation disk and Windows 8.1 what should I do now?

4.) is this CBS.log safe to share with all the tech staff? Are there private users identifiable, information of web surfing or IP address included in the CBS.log newspaper?

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Lexx

Open again (as an administrator) command prompt and type:

    findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log > '% userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt '.

Copy the above and right-click near the blinking cursor, which will stick above, and then press ENTER.  This will open the CBS.  When you see "Cannot repair" you will also see the file, he can not fix it in quotes like this "file."

If it is a recent phenomenon which is about May 13 then it may be a corrupt problem with an update. • sfc/scannow CBS. Corruption, resource monitor error LOG does not, the Preview picture broken, KB2538223 do not install, optional updates IE 10 and 11 unsuccessful.

I just fixed a major problem I had with a screensaver HBO hogging all my resources. I had to reboot and when it would take place within 2 hours. Now, after cleaning and tweaking, this installation is only a few weeks and I am having some problems.

1 CBS.log has some corrupted files after doing a sfc/scannow.

2 resource Monitor works properly and will not load properly not display anything without error message.

3 image preview does not work on my photos for the thumbnails and will crash after the use of native Photo Viewer after about 5 pictures in the same directory leafing.

    4. Windows Update will not be installed "Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243).

    5. then Windows Explorer 10 and 11 will not be installed and the optional updates that tend to bother me even though I know that I don't need them. But also say that they have failed after that reboot although says that she is successful in the history of Windows Update.

MOD, do not hesitate to break up of my questions on the correct forums, I want to be like Windows stock as possbile.
