  I was wondering if someone could explain the differences between the two briefy, I know that MPIO resides on the layer IP and LAG is at the level of the Mac layer. But I'll put up our Equalogic PS4000XV iSCSI SAN with two hosts ESXi 4 U1. I use VMWares Round Robin MPIO, with the strategy of several VMKernel ports dedicated to multiple NETWORK cards.

  My main question is that I still have to do the aggregation of links? Y at - it an advantage? And if it is how can I go to do it because I have 6 100 ports VLAN dedicated to iSCSI, 4 ports traffic go to the SAN and 2 ports light up to two network cards on the ESX host, when I LAG all the SAN becomes inaccessible. Any thoughts?

  To add, VLAN is not recommended for iSCSI traffic, it is better to use a dedicated switch (preferably a pair of switches).  When a pair is used, there should be a group of ports in the LAG between them (min of 2 Gbps) or stacked.  The configuration of the switch must also be very specific with the PS4000 - flow control enabled on all ports and port deep buffers.

  Download SanHQ from Equallogic.com if you do not already done, this will give an idea of prices of retransmission for your tests under load (with IOMeter for example) - and loads of other cool stuff.  Make sure you have the latest firmware on the PS, including the L1 patch and be aware of vmware PR484220 to do with the MPIO.

  I have a question about the next thing. Let's say you have a switch connected to the physical ESX host (or 2 for redundancy - does not matter in this case), with 2 x 1 Gbit vmnic (vmnic0, vmnic1). Now, as vswitch LB default strategy is used, it puts VMS on different vmnic automatically, and you can use the links in 2 GB of a host (of course a link to a vm etc..) But if you have conencted router switch with 1Gbit uplink, and you would like to increase link 1Gbit (router switch - & gt;) to 2 GB, so what is required on the switch (with the exception of the second Gbit active connecting to the router - blue link)? Must be configured as portchannel? And if so, then does this change require a reconfiguration side host ESX (vSwitch)?

  EqualLogic doesn't support grouping/collage/LACP, etc...   You must configure MPIO on the guests instead.

  You are also confused about the difference between absolute and relative links. An absolute link is a complete link - it contains the full path. Links that start by... / and / are both relative links. The first style is compared to the document. The second is relative to the root of the site.

  When you use PHP includes, the path to the include file must be compared to the document or the file must be in the PHP include_path.

  When you use links inside of an include file, they should normally be from the root of the site.

  Your links do not work locally because the root of the site is localhost. Probably, you develop your site in a subfolder of localhost. Therefore, the links point to a folder above what you want.

  The solution is to create a virtual host. Details on the configuration of the virtual hosts in Windows can be found in this tutorial on my website: http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/apache22_vhosts.php.
