sign of fingerprints in

my old system labtop has identified the fingerprint to connect but does not work with windows 8

Hi AlbrechtHein,

Please contact Microsoft Community.

This problem may occur when Windows is not compatible with older programs. Most of the programs created for earlier versions of Windows work in a newer version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all.

Updated Windows 8 compatible drivers/software to print from the website of the manufacturer of the computer for finger would solve the problem.

A few questions in order to get a clear picture of this issue:

  1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
  2. When you say portable system, are you referring to the operating system?
  3. Who was the operating system already installed on your computer?
  4. You upgrade your computer operating system Windows 8?
  5. Have you tried to install the latest drivers from the computer manufacturer website?
  6. You receive an error code or message?
  7. It's a built-in fingerprint reader or an external drive?

If you find no driver/software compatible Windows 8 for the fingerprint in the website of the manufacturer of the computer, see the following article from Microsoft Help to install the software/driver in compatibility mode.

Make the programs more compatible with this version of Windows

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-Windows

The steps described in the article Microsoft Help also applies to Windows 8.

I hope this helps. Back to us for assistance.

I decided to install the new driver on the site of hp drivers and after the installation of the new driver, it shows a symbol yeow in Device Manager and still does not work. my laptop came with a hp pass simple series 6 (version 6.02) and after the upgrade to windows 10 I lost the program. is there a way I can fix the yellow symbol on the fingerprint driver in biometric devices under Device Manager?
the driver is Synaptics PS (WBF) (PID = 0050) sensor.

Please help me because I really need my footprint to work

    Thanks in advance

    @Envy-15

You might be able to use this validity sensor driver:

    validity sensor V 4.5.289.0 sp72114 W7Pro/64 bit WT/64 bit

In general, 6 HP SimplePass series can run on Windows 10.  It has been and continues to be, a robust and strong code.

If you really lost the series 6 HP SimplePass program AND if you do not export your Webcards (website / password backup)-you might decide to switch to the newer 8 HP SimplePass series program and always supported.

Series 8 HP SimplePass is not an 'upgrade' of the old version of series 6 of the program; It is a different code - in other words, a completely different interpretation of the SimplePass product.

Series 8 HP SimplePass is written by Softex.

Series 6 HP SimplePass was written by AuthenTec.

You can, of course, decide to try to launch the series 6 HP SimplePass; the program can work with your new validity sensor driver.

    Series 6 HP SimplePass:

    sp63224 HP SimplePass V6.0.100.276 Win7-8

    Series 8 HP SimplePass:

    sp71729 HP SimplePass V8.01.46A 32/64 bit W7 - W10

    General rules:

Do pay attention to the order of events when you (re) install your driver and / or software:

    • Sign - in the case of Options - if the system supports native Windows fingerprint logon, you assign and configure a PIN code to activate the sign of fingerprints
    • Validity sensor driver first > restart
    • Software next SimplePass > restart

I got this HP Envy 13-d053sa (Win10 installed in the factory) for a few months now, always allowing me to connect using my fingerprint today.

Today, I found that I had lost my PIN and my option of sign-in fingerprints had disappeared from the setting menu. I managed to set up a new PIN, but the rest available footprint (not even a flashing light on the device itself). (Incidentally, Norton Internet Security has also stopped working and I had to remove and re-install.)

I've updated the device driver of fingerprints through the Web page updated HP, but still no joy.

How can I get fingerprints in my connection options please?

    Hello

If I boot my laptop (G725) after that I checked my fingerprints, I get the following message:

"No bootable image found, notebook will be stop.

The laptop stops. I thought that my hard drive MBR must be corrupted or failure of the entire system at all.

But when I press [Esc] during bios and select this option to "boot the OS partition" I wonder to get fingerprint as usual. This will bring me again to the initial menu that comes when you press [Esc], but in a higher resolution. If I select 'boot from the partition of the OS' once again, windows starts normally. (It can be reproduced and the current way, I work with my laptop)

(Before above mentioned conduct took place there was a start, where the laptop just showed a blackscreen after the HP BIOS logo screen do nothing for minutes.) Of the hardshutdown system. The next work start, except the stuff of built-in security that takes fingerprints from the BIOS authentication and automatically enters the credentials in windows did not work - I had to manually enter my windows password, fingerprint authentication was not available.

It was occuing only once. Since then, fingerprint authentication works fine, both the bios and windows-level)

Is this some kind of BIOS or secure boot bug? What should I do?

Hello! The first thing you need to do is to remove all BIOS passwords

Then try to start Windows and sign with your password

Then, remove the sign of fingerprint reader news and then re-create but not for BIOS, just for Windows

  • Windows Sign-on does not accept the fingerprint reader

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad W510 running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.  It comes with the Lenovo Fingerprint Reader software, and I activated it and registered fingerprints.  When I lock the computer, I am able to use the instead of the password fingerprint reader to log on.  Also, when I put the computer into standby mode, I am also able to open a session with the fingerprint reader.  However, when I first turn on the computer, the windows logon screen does not allow me to use the fingerprint reader, but only accepts a password.  No idea what could be wrong?

The problem is resolved. It was a misunderstanding on my part. By clicking on the "Change user" button, I could see the scanner as a connection option. Once I used once the fingerprint reader, which then became the default user and now presents itself whenever I connect. If I want to return to the use of the password, I can do so using the button 'change user '.

  • Portege R700 - recognition of fingerprints does not recognize my fingers

My recognition of fingerprints has worked for a day about. Now, it does not recognize my fingers (3 registered). When I go in utility prints/utilities-Toshiba digital displays with a fingerprint window Panel, indicating that he needs my fingerprints until I have access to the control panel. It will not accept my footprint so I select to close the window and leaves the control panel.

When I visit different websites they say it is ready (on a yellow sign) and I keep having to say cancel because I fear it will record and then leaves me not in the Web site.

It was such a bad experience I just go into the control panel and disable. How do I do that?

  • Portege R500 - start of fingerprinting release

    Greetings.

I have a problem with my Porteg R500 with HARD drive. I activated the "Single Sign on" in order to use my fingerprint only once a boot, the heading "Power Pre-os by fingerprints" (TrueSite Access Manager software).
When I turn on my laptop, after the BIOS check, I wonder to slide my finger on the sensor. I do, but the system hangs upward, with the screenshot of software TrueSite still. No way to use the keyboard (without CTRL-ALT-DEL allowed; if you press CAPS LOCK, SHIFT, there no led lights, etc.), and he remains hung up that I've shut it down by holding the power button.

Anyone know what's the problem? My BIOS firmware is updated (version 1.60)

    Thank you.

    Hello

Has this issue been published since the beginning? I mean from day of purchase?

In my view the OS and Access Manager software TrueSite is confused upward.
Who knows why, but I think you have to use your Toshiba recovery disc and put the laptop to the factory setting.
Then update the AuthenTec fingerprint software.

Then, you can follow with the configuration of the fingerprint as described in the help of AuthenTec.

I think you should check this!

    Thank you.

    Hello

    > Also does anyone know how I can synchronize the utility of fingerprints with firefox, so I can just use it instead of enter my sign in details and passwords on Web sites?

As far as I know it was supported under Win XP and I think that this should also work in Win 7

Support for laptop and Authentec Fingerprint Software (TrueSuite)
The latest version of the software appears to be available for Portege Z930.
On the European driver Toshiba page, you might find the v version 2.0.0.9 for Win 7 64 bit

I recommend that you install this if you cannot find the software on your HARD drive.

    Also recommend to check this:

You have HP SimplePass installed - and you didn't say whether or not it does - AND you run (a version of) the original program of the series 6 HP SimplePass (delivered) installed with your computer.  This series of the program may, or may not, to run in your new operating system Windows 10.

I've read the claims of one of the members who series 6 HP SimplePass, i.e. HP SimplePass probably version 6.0.100.276 - runs in Windows 10.  I can't verify this is the case.

    How?

Replace the existing driver of validity:

    • Uninstall - do NOT delete the driver from Device Manager

If your series 6 HP SimplePass program does not itself, i.e. the program starts and then berms, the start screen starts / stops / flashes / freezes, then you can try:

    • Hard Reset / forced Reset
    • 'Fix' the program SimplePass (programs and features)
    • Tryoverloading the program, that is, install the program on top of itself without removing the current program from the computer.

A strange combination of other factors are not

In all cases, you want to reinstall your driver validity sensor.

You can probably use the Driver for Windows 8.1 you already have:

    validity sensor V4.4.234.0 Win8 sp58900 - Win8.1

    Logon Windows native 10

Even if you do not use HP SimplePass - or if you have never used and don't even have it installed - once you have reinstalled the driver validity sensor, you could check / settings / manage your PC settings > accounts > Sign-in Options

Native Windows logon can you logged on to the computer with your fingerprint - up to now, it cannot connect to Web Sites.

  • Satellite A300: Only print sign up initially but two user accounts

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 has the TrueSuite Access Manager software.
There are two accounts on the computer, but I could not find how to get the two accounts will be displayed on the Panel to the screen, for who wants to use his account may choose the correct sign.

Currently there is only a single fingerprint sign appears following the departure to the top.
In order to enter the second account, I have to click on "Change user" and log in using the password.

I am sure I should be able to put in place so that the choice of which account you want to connect to is available initially.

Could someone help me sort this?

    Thank you very much...

Interesting question. have you installed the latest version of the software of fingerprint on the Toshiba site?

Also update the BIOS and added value package.

  • Satellite A100 is locked because of the fingerprint BIOS & user password

    Hi all

I have my A100 to my work, recognition of the TouchChip fingerprint a year ago. On initial installation, I recorded my fingerprint of the windows interface.
Six months ago I had to reinstall windows XP due to infection by the virus that is not repairable. I have installed Windows XP Home edition and downloaded all the drivers and additional software from Toshiba's site.

I him didn't record again my fingerprints, and I have NOT activated the TouchChip software this time. My problem was only an annoying message at the time the sign that said «you have not saved your fingerprint again...» "and that's it.
After a 2 week out of town trip (My A100 was locked in my office, and powered OFF - no connection to the sector) at first start, software TouchChip is back from the dead!

Screen 'TouchChip Bios Extension' appeared after plugging, and my finger is required to load WXP!
When connecting user WXP dialogue the additional message "you have not saved your fingerprint again... is always here, but I cannot start the machine without my fingerprint." After some digging later in PowerProtector (?) I found an option that says 'enable or disable the use of fingerprints for system and user password BIOS' or something like that.

I turn this off, and the machine asked to reboot. It was the last time I saw the office.
After reboot, the system asks password. BUT I DID NOT PUT ANY SYSTEM OR USER PASSWORD!
    Is this possible?
    I did something wrong?
    What is the solution?
I'm locked out; I don't know why and how the BIOS is locked with a password (so I can't unlock it).
    Please someone help.

    Best regards, Georgios

I don't know what exactly A100 computer laptop you have, but it seems that the laptop came with the Vista operating system preinstalled.

You have installed XP and drivers XP only from the Toshiba page.
But from my understanding, the BIOS should be updated too! The Satellite A100 series supports a special XP BIOS version. If the BIOS was not updated the laptop might not run correctly.

I don't know if it could have a negative influence on the fingerprint, but nothing is impossible!
However, the fact is that the BIOS asks for the password. If you don't know this, you need to remove the other... and this can be done by a service provider authorized in your country.

Request assistance from technicians and explain the whole story! Maybe they will remove the password for free!

    Bye and good luck

The driver works for me on a 8570p here, although I had to foce it a little...

I've upgraded an install of Windows 7 (not original) to Windows 10 and decided to try the new build-in OS support sensor. On Win7 I didn't use it because you have to installed the HP tools and it was more bloating, so I'm comfortable with... of course the problem is to get the drivers... Windows seems to have installed a driver that is over 2 years old and seems not even compatible with the OS API footprint. I'm not entirely sure if Win10 is the same as using Win7, but in any case, updating the driver did not find a newer version which is compatible with the BONES of characteristic fingerprints.

I downloaded and installed the version that lucadebe posted (link removed for error in the link). (Note that the Setup program seems to disappear all of a sudden, it's normal I think, there is no that add the driver of windows, it does not actually update the device).

I rebooted, but unlike others that wasn't enough in my case. The reason was that the shift driver does not actually list the VFS491 as a compatible sensor...

So basically, I had 2 options:

    1. use the driver (from lenovo) published by the creator of the thread that is accredited as a Win10 compatible, but do not officially support my sensor.

    2. use an old (but still relatively recent; a few months old) driver (from lenovo) that supports my sensor, but is not certified as compatible Win10. There are several versions to choose from here, although not RECOGNIZED HP...

The first driver lists the new probe of VFS495 (mine is VFS491), so I thought I could force and see if it works, rather than use a somewhat older driver (Lenovo) are not not as compatible Win10.

I went into the Device Manager and open the properties for the biometric sensor. On the driver tab, I selected "Update driver"-> "Browse local dirvers"-> "Let Me Choose from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

Then, because the new driver does not actually list my compatible sensor, I had to uncheck "Show compatible hardware".

If you use the provided HP driver it will by default have a driver selected in manufacturere "Validity Sensors, Inc.". They were acquired by Synaptics, so the new driver will be available under "Synaptics PS sensors". I installed in fact a number of more recent drivers, but one displayed above should be included amongst the "Synaptics PS (WBF) (PID = 003d) sensors '." Select it and click next to install...

After installing the new driver, open the Sign In options screen suddenly showed a header additional 'Windows Hello' with a button to add a fingerprint...

So far, works like a charm.

@PeerOne: I would like to get the driver from the HP site with the game of the right driver... IF HP has bothered actually updates driver. As is the case, the only recent drivers for the VFS491 are available through lenovo.  I installed the HP Softpaq Manager... While the application itself got an update for Win10, only "driver" always updated through it is the BIOS. Everything else is old...

I find it particularly disappointing because they are generic drivers provided by Synaptics... manufacturers have simply repackage the... but even that is too much effort, it would seem.

Also, considering windows 7 can switch itself to windows 10 in place, there will be many people who will need drivers compatible win10...

It has saddened my we rely on another manufacturer provide us drivers for HP products... Lenovo is always provide drivers for laptops that are older than mine, even drivers for newer operating systems...

Will be probably considered as when we need to replace our phones current...
