Signature problems, the wireless router.

I have a problem of signing on the internet through a Linksys WRT54G2V1 wireless router model. I use Windows Vista Service Pack 2. When I start my computer, it is not the sign on the internet, even if it is connected to the wireless router. Address ip/4 shows 169.254.42.23. After I unplug the router for 20 seconds and then plug it in again, my computer will sign it on the internet. 192.168.1.100 is the ip/4 address. In the meantime, my wife's computer has no problem signing on the internet via the wireless router. When I start my computer, it uses the address 169.254. He has only started to do this recently. What should I do to fix my sign on the problem?

Hello

Have you tried the steps suggested by Yakub K for the same problem?

If this isn't the case then try the steps and let us know the results.

  • Black screen on startup after installation of the wireless router

I recently installed a Netgear Wireless - G Router (WGR614) on my computer vista HP laptop and since then, I have experienced a few problems. One day my computer was working fine. I stopped it and when I went to leave the next day morning, the screen was black with a bunch of small lines. It would not load anything so I stop and tried again. It's the same thing. I turned on and close my count, and when I opened it upward a few minutes later the screen was beautiful. Then, I have lived the "Blue Screen of death" 3 times. I researched what the problem might be and thought that I might need to update a driver. I went to HP Health Check and there were a couple of updates on a wireless adapter and a card reader, so I installed the updates. I have not experienced the blue screen since then, but I still have problems with the black screen when starting upwards. If I leave the computer open the black screen turns to a white/blue color and nothing loads. But if I close it then after a minute or two everything is. This could be the cause?

    Hello

Start with the wireless router is not the cause of the problems. It is a stand-alone device that simply provides a network connection for your system. Offhand, I would say that you experience a hardware failure, and perhaps the time is simply coincidence. Knowing what was the error message stop can help to indicate where the problem lies, but your description of the problem is quite indicative of a hardware problem. Solve it will probably require involving a technician (contact HP if it is still under warranty).

  • Photosmart 6510 does not have access to the wireless router.

I get the hardware address to ip assinged that begins with 169 and not the ip address of the network of 192.  Was told by HP support yesterday that he had to do with my pc services at startup it prevents access to the network.  My pc has to do with anything?  The printer is independent and should be able to access the wireless router, all my other wireless devices has no problem with this printer.  Sometimes I can get it but can't always, what is the point of a wireless printer, if it cannot operate as a?  Someone at - it a way to ensure that my printer gets ip address, it must without having to start everything each time?

No, this router should work perfectly.  There are a few settings on the router that are important:

    1. ensure that the 802.11 g mode, with 802.11n is fine, but 'g' must be present.

    2. make sure that the name of the wireless network is broadcast.

    3. don't use MAC filtering on the router.

4 set the channel of the router on 11.

    5. make sure that the router firmware is updated.

  • C4780 cannot find the wireless router

I have a new iMac and old Toshiba that is running Windows XP and you use a Netgear wireless router.  When I got to the printer, it worked fine on the wireless network.  Bought a new router that I couldn't work with the Mac and the PC so I returned to my original router.  Now, the printer does not work as a wireless printer.  Summaries of diagnosis indicates that the printer cannot find the wireless router and fails under "Network Name (SSID) Found."  On the Network Setup page, my network is listed as a network discovered by the printer.  I guess there is a simple solution and hope to find the answers here.

    Thank you very much!

Some printers C4780 left the factory with a default misconfiguration.  This could be the reason why you can not see the hpsetup network.  Here is an updated set of instructions for manually adding the C4780 to a Mac:

Part 1 - Get the printer in Ad-Hoc Mode Wireless

    (1) turn on the printer.

    (2) display the printer has six keys; three on the left (top-left, middle left, below on the left) and three on the right (top-right, centre-right, bottom-right).  Press and release the following touch buttons in order:

    top left,

    bottom-left,

    top left,

    top left.

    (3) you should see the internal menu of printers.  Press the right button down to select 'Service Menu'.  Press OK (lower-left).

    4) press the lower button right until you see "Reset Menu".  Press OK (lower-left).

    5) press the lower button right until you see "half full".  Press OK (lower-left).

    (6) after a few seconds, the printer turns off.  Press the power button to turn on the printer.  It is now reset with the correct default network settings.

    (7) turn on the radio:

Press the Scan button to get the wireless settings

    Select wireless Menu

    Select wireless settings

Select Enable Wireless to turn on the radio.

Part 2 - run the Wireless Setup Wizard

The printer has now created an ad - hoc network called hpsetup.  To connect to this network on your Mac.

Check the connection to the printer by opening the printer's internal web page.  You can do this by opening Safari, select bookmarks then ShowAll bookmarks.  On the left pane of Safari, select Hello and on the right, you should see your printer listed.  Double-click your printer and Safari should display the printer's internal web page.

The printer Web page, select the network tab, and then select Wireless (802.11).  Now press Start the wizard to launch the wireless configuration wizard.

When the wizard is finished, your computer unplug the printer's ad - hoc network as the printer reconfigures itself to connect to your network home.

Reconnect your computer to your home network.  Verify that you can connect to the printer at the opening of its internal web page again once we were doing before.

Finally, install the printer SW.  Since you have Snow Leopard, you don't need the CD that came with the printer.  Instead, open the Print & Fax under System Preferences applet and press the [+] button.  Highlight your printer and click Add.

  • Problem to stay connected to the internet through the wireless router.

I'm having a strange problem.  My computer will stay connected wireless for anywhere between 2-30 minutes before losing connectivity.  However, it works when I plug it into the router, which is what I'm doing now.  I have tried everything I can think of to eliminate the problem, but it has not changed.  Usually, once it shuts down it will stay off until I have change the frequency of router or something.  Reset the router works every time some time, but nothing is definitely the problem.

I disabled ipv6, reset the router, update windows, restarted several times that I have unplugged router and modem, reconfigured frequency channel of the router, among other things.

It must be a problem with my computer because my roommate both have computers that are working properly.  In addition, it is a relatively new problem.  I've had my computer for a few months now and it has worked well up until that 2 days ago.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

I would try the underside and then if no joy try a system restore to before this happened - don't worry
the system restore without the bottom as the issue will probably come back. And if you always do
a system restore and then repeat the underside when even because all will be back to old drivers and settings.

How to make a Vista system restore
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-System-Restore-how.html
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please do this 1 and repeat if you need to do a system restore:

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.
