Signed to homegroup, but cannot actually access anything

I created a homegroup on my desktop pc and joined the homegroup on my laptop (I had the window that says "join the homegroup." and clicked the Finish button. Then when I tried to access the homegroup, it's all I get.

I tried the convenience store, have the same setting on both computers sharing, made sure neither sleep or hibernation, there's nobody on the PC, the two are defined as a home network and I left and joined the homegroup on both computers. I don't know what the problem is or how to solve my current problem. When I try to choose the icons nothing happens. I went through countless tutorials to put in place the homegroup, and every time that's what I get.

    I do not use homegroups, but 'true' to share, so I don't know how this is supposed to work with homegroups. But usually he should share a drive or folder, first before you can access it from another machine. (for example, click on the drive/folder properties and go to the sharing tab)

  • WRT1900AC and Galaxy S4 to connect, but cannot actually get online

    I got this router in my wishlist for about 6 months and finally pressed the trigger yesterday. He arrived this afternoon and well, I've experienced this with the DIR-655 Router two years ago... and I'm afraid it's the same problem all over again.

    With the DIR-655 Router, you can set the WPA2 with TKIP encryption and the S4 Galaxy would work. I don't see an option with the ca 1900.

    I tried all combinations (WEP, WPA2 Enterprise, no, etc. on 2.4 and 5 Ghz) without a bit of luck. I've updated the firmware also. Galaxy S4 (Ver.1.1.8.164461) says it is connected, but I can't get online.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    He has got to work! I did a hard resetand the two Galaxy S4 in the House have been able to get online.

    All I can think is: I had configured the WRT1900AC for the port forwarding for XBox Live (in these instructions), which included the port 80 and 53. Maybe that was re - directing traffic? I do not know... I have connected my Xbox One via Cat5 and now the NAT is open - without having to port forwarding.

    I hope this helps others... try a hard reset first!

    P.S. It was a stock configuration after a hard rest. My only change was change the SSID and password.

    Data synchronization are deleted from the synchronization servers when change you your password to allow you to walk away with your same account synchronization - it does not make you create a new account. Data on the individual devices are not affected.

    A load of fresh data will be sent to the server synchronization you plug each device with the new password.

    When the password is changed all the data on the synchronization, the server becomes worthless - the password is used to create a unique "key" to encrypt your data because it "leaves" devices for the sync server. On the "return" from the server to one of your devices, these data are of-encrypted via the "password." The synchronization server stores your synchronization data encrypted - without the 'key' unique (which is recorded in your installation of Firefox) , no one can read your data.

  • Lost access to the programs, not a virus or registry problem. Lost the rights to the user (?) but cannot access restore or modify user accounts

    1st, I tried almost every fix suggested on this relatively common problem with no joy.  It is not a virus, unless it's something very new not found by all the usual scanners.

    Only way to access the programs EXE is to run the command prompt by going to with CTRL - tour of the new task (run) in the Task Manager menu and then navigate to the appropriate directory and run the program from the command prompt.   Run virus checker and run various registry fixes recommended here with no joy.  Safe mode does not help with the launch of the EXE.

    Because I get the 'Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.  You can not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.  When I try to run an exe from a link, I think I have lost the user privileges.  But, since I can't change the accounts of users or the restore, I can't try to do anything there.

    This problem occurred after uninstalling several old unused programs followed by performing a disk defragmentation.  (everything is done using Microsoft System Tools).  PC worked after doing these things in vain after the next reboot.

    Curiously, I CAN start the web browser from the start menu to post this message.

    Another clue: I can't start programs by clicking on them, but I CAN run the program by opening a file type associated with this program, i.e., opening a file named text.doc will cause Word to open.

    I am a fairly experienced user, but I'm stumped.  Any suggestions?

    Found solution...

    Looked user accounts change program but cannot find or identify it was so impossible to try it.

    I was finally able to identify (in trial & error) the restore program and run it using the command window.

    The program (rstrui.exe) was found in C:\Windows\System32\Restore\rstrui.exe

    I was able to run and to restore to a date when this problem started and that fix.   Still don't know what was the problem of the root but happy to be able to fully use this PC back again.

    If the portion of the machine has activated - Simple file sharing (i.e. it is XP Home or it is XP Pro with Simple (default) file sharing) - while all file sharing connections authenticate as user 'guest '.  It will not matter what username / password you provide, it will attempt to authenticate as 'guest '.  If the guest user has received a password or the guest account is not active, you will experience the symptoms you describe.

    If the serving machine running XP Pro and Simple file sharing is disabled, then you should be able to connect by specifying the user as computer\user and the password to connect.  To turn off Simple file sharing:

You do not specify which tool you used by Microsoft to analyze, but I guess that's the Microsoft - http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx - Security Scanner that does not install.     When you say that "the external interface is downwards using failover techniques" you mean this failover occurred because the ASA is no longer able to reach the 31.13.72.1?  Not that the actual interface is broken?

    If this is the case, then the NATing is your problem.  Since you're using the same VPN pool for VPN connections the ASA cannot distinguish between the two streams of traffic if the external interface is still in place.  The SLA tracking only removes a route in the routing table, but does not affect what happens in the NAT process.

    If this does not work, I would either turn off the external interface when a failover occurs, or create a second connection profile that contains a separate mass of IP for the VPN connection and ask users to connect using this profile when a failover takes place.  Don't forget to create Nat exempt instructions for this traffic also.
