Your SIM card is not the device memory or Media Card... everyone is different.

  • Full SIM blackBerry Smartphones SMS memory?

I have about 20 SMS and it says my SIM SMS memory is full? It can not be full already... previous phone, I got 100 SMS and my sim card was not complete!

    Follow these steps:

Go to Options > SMS text and look for the option that says "Leave the SMS on SIM card" and set it to 'no '.

Your SIM card has a limit of 20 messages, and change this option will move them to the memory of the device instead. I hope this helps!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones active new SIM - now phone SOS only

Hi all. Have a little problem. I had to go back to an old 9700 When my current iPhone broke. I needed a new card SIM from the iPhone using a different card. When I called Rogers to activate the SIM everything was fine for about a minute. I received texts that were pending since Sunday when my iPhone broke. I had full bars etc. Once a minute, he went to SOS only. While I was on the phone with Rogers Tech Support I have reset and removed the battery and SIM and all the things they wanted me to. Everything looks good on their system, he said that the problem must be with the device.

    A bit on the device:

Originally with Mobilicity in 2009. Opened and used with the wind. My father then used with Rogers and Fido. Since Sunday, when my phone broke, I used SIM card of my brother-in-law (he just swung at Rogers to the wind, but his plan has always been paid until the end of September) and the BB worked very well. If it worked correctly with a Rogers SIM.

Now, I get the same problem with my brother-brother SIM. SOS only. No connection. What happened when active Rogers SIM card must have done something to the camera itself because now it does not connect to any of them. That both SIMs work as I have tested both in my wife's phone.

The guy on the Support of Rogers suggested that perhaps the closed phone itself - but when I enter the settings advanced for the SIM card that everything is disabled in customization... so it appears not to be locked.

He said that I should try to reinstall the OS, but that it will block the phone and I need to unlocked again.

Is there anything else it could be? Will reinstall the OS relock the phone? Any other suggestions?

    Thank you very much!

First this... avoid this tech Rogers like the plague. He has no idea what he's talking about. All what he told you is simply not possible. Once MEP unlocked, a BB device can blocked at the factory. Nothing of what you have done or the facilities of any OS can relock a BB.

I'd rather a complete security on the Device Wipe:

    • KB14058 How to delete all data and applications in the smartphone BlackBerry using the security option wipe

    Otherwise, a ResetToFactory WIPE:

    • KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

After each one, put it in the SIM card and switch on the device, and then make sure that the voice is through Rogers. Only then start to worry about getting all the data to work (if you subscribe BIS, in other words).

If you want to get off the OS Reload path, then the easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do this on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below. (not applicable in your situation)

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

You may also use these tips:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

Hello, first post on this forum.

A hardware upgrade, I now use a Q10.  I give my wife my Bold 9780.  We have just received his SIM card from our supplier.

I wonder to get his phone to work do we just put new SIM card in the "BOLD" or do we need to reset the phone and erase all my information out there?  I don't know that she doesn't want all my information out there.

I have all the information from the old phone transferred to my PC and on the new phone.

If you do a backup/restore, don't do this basically... rather, backup/restore only the databases specific you need (for example, calendar, contacts, messages, etc.) and more precisely to avoid data bases having something to with COMPUTER policy, business, etc.. If you restore those, the it policy will be conscientiously restored to the device, and you will be right where you are now.

As for a BES Server trying to reach out... There is nothing that I can offer you. Your best bet is to talk to your provider and make sure you have no BES-level service enabled on your account of them. Who should (note 'should'... is there no guarantees) prevent a BES server to reach out and the reactivation of your device.

OK, so you need to start with is the following:

    • Article ID: KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after the purchase of a used BlackBerry smartphone

The steps of the WIPE removes prevention device-lock password and return the unit to (almost) a State of "new factory". If the device is locked by password, then you just keep trying until exhaust you all attempts, how much the device will perform the WIPE to remove this password.

Be aware, however, that it didn't is not held here which may have to be performed by the actual owner of the disk... for example, the former carrier may refuse your request to release the BB ANKLE of their BIS system so that you can have your door - create an account BIS for the device. You are not the owner of the disc with that carrier, but as you go through the required legal process, the police various or other reports that you hold some sway with the former carrier.

In addition, it is possible that the previous owner reported to their carrier (and other authorities) as lost, and the unit may now be on the blacklist, which will prevent its features on any carrier anywhere, anything else is done. But, again, these official reports, you have maybe a few extend.

You do not want to check if the device is carrier unlocked or not... If not, then it can only serve as it is originally made for door. Reference:

However, even if unlocked, so also reported as lost, then it still won't fully work on any medium. Except again once you use your police service and other reports as stabilizing with the carrier imposed on the lock.

Also, be aware that no BB devices are universally functional on all carriers. First, each model is made with only a few radio technologies and frequencies that the unit can operate with... and can operate on carriers that operate on those. In addition, each carrier decides what specific device model numbers that they will support for these features BB... If the carrier does not have this device as supported for automatic broadcasting HRT and address book maintenance, then full BIS functions may not be possible, even if it is consistent with what the carriers of radio signals.

You have a lot of work to do. Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones user 1 time BB

    Hi guys,.

I am a first time user, so I have a lot of questions on this BB curve. I bought a second hand curve and I have no idea how to set this phone (only bought the model, it has no manual and accessories). Here are my questions and thanks in advance to those who can answer:

    1. my IP address is 0.0.0.0 - I can connect to the WiFi network but I can't browse the web

2 if I have the program installation/create a bb here id, can I use it on my handheld?

    3. what an erasure of memory wipe exactly and an erasure of memory affect my id card/BBM SIM as well?

    Hi Alex121289

Welcome aboard BlackBerry family and community

First I would like to that you visit BlackBerry 101 and manual BlackBerry Curve - manuals and Guides for getting started

Secondly if you have purchased a device used by one of your friend or any store online then it is always advice to do a security wipe to remove any objects associated with the previous user. You can see this help Article:

KB28225 : BlackBerry Smartphone must be wiped before transferring the security property

    With regard to your questions:

1 carrier little need short data even plan to navigate the Internet, even via wifi. So aske your operator if you need some sort of data plan to your account

4: you can create a new BlackBerry ID on the site Web de BlackBerry ID that you can use on your device, see this KB:

KB24062 : How to create a BlackBerry ID

    3. If you do a security wipe on your device it will remove all the installed user application, e-mail accounts so that your card memory if you insert memory card while doing a security wipe. Yes, it will remove the BlackBerry ID that is already associated with this device, after a wipe, you can use a new BlackBerry ID or even that you use before, but a security wipe has nothing to do with your SIM card.

However... With your query 1"not able to navigate on the internet". Like you bought this device in some cases if your device has a COMPUTER policy then IT can prevent browser so my suggestion... Rather than to do a security wipe you reset your device to factory setting, this will remove all political and helps solve your problem.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you contact your mobile provider for formal support... After all, it's their network with which your BB is to have trouble communicating.

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) books of forwarding Service

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, you may have to wipe your device and then do the above... sometimes, running on another network corrupts so evil that the foregoing cannot fix your Service books. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!
