SIM card question

Can I put my iPhone sim card in an iPhone 5 6? Currently, I have a 5, but want to gat 6 or IS I want to know if I can use the same SIM card for all the different phones.

If they use a sim card of nano, it can be used in the phone.

Edit:

Just watched.  Use nanosim too, so yes.  You can use the same SIM card.

Drop by your local service provider's retail store and ask them to do it for you, they can.

Unless you have SIM cards and software readers, you can't. They do it.

  • Smartphones blackBerry RE Newbie question: address book/Sim Card

I have a BB 8820 Smartphone & my carrier is AT & T. I previously had an LG view & upgraded yesterday to my BB (which I LOVE BTW!) I copied my contacts from my SIM card and managed to transfer all my existing addresses to the new BB. However, for some reason-all addresses see contact phone numbers in the field 'Work' rather than 'Mobile' or 'Home' "They were not show them that way on reading my previous phone screen - so my question is that I have to go in every & each entry address to re - enter the number in the 'Mobile' field & then disable it ' work ' field in order so that it appears as"Sue Mobile"or even just"Sue"when she calls instead of display"Work of Sue"there are entires that are numbers of work , but the majority are not & it gets confusing... make sense? Laughing out loud

Not to be confused... Yes you have to it manually.

And you need to transfer all the numbers from your SIM card to your BlackBerry address book, too.

Then, you can synchronize the BlackBerry to Outlook or Outlook Express and do the editing there. Much easier.

  • NB 500-107-Question on the use of the SIM card

    Hello

I recently bought a laptop computer as written in the subject, I would like to know if there is a modem integrated 3 g (hsdpa) standard? behind the drums is to enter the sim card but it of so weird, just the map, but it is very loose and obviously doesn't work, after removing the cover that I saw that the sim card is where you do not touch the contacts (as if it wasn't a modem).

Please help because I don't know whether to advertise in the store.

    Hi swirus152,

According to the official record on the site Web of Toshiba NB500-107 doesn t have an internal 3G modem. There is even a SIM slot it doesn t average a module 3G internal because the matter will be used for different models according to me and a few other models support the 3G module.

So if you want the 3G connection, you can use your SIM card with a 3 G USB key that you get very little money. :)

  • SIM card

My daughter accidentally dropped her iPhone 4 and now it will turn is no longer. AT & T was absolutely useless in helping with his iPhone. Currently, she has lost so many photos that were stored on his phone and not the cloud. My question is if it can remove its SIM card, insert it into an adapter and then put back in its drive of his laptop in order to get all these pictures? Is this possible? What type of USB SIM card, adapter would I need? Thank you very much! Any help would be much appreciated!

Unfortunately, the card SIM A No., used with an iPhone, stores all of the user data. Photos taken with his iPhone would be stored in one of the following locations: 1) the Photos app on the phone, 2) the Photos on a Mac if app it copied or moved pictures out of his iPhone it, or 3) to iCloud if it makes backups.

  • Built-in SIM card problem

Anyone heading the question where they took contact with care of apple and the representative on the other end does not have the product you are calling for?

I recently had to replace my iPad 9.7 Pro at a local Apple store warranty. There was a glimmer of hope in the quadrant display cooer right. It was not extreme, but once I have the sewing, my eyes always went straight to the it later. Given that the unit was only a few months, that I wasn't old too satisfied to "just deal with it" then I won him in and ultimately they replaced. There is one thing that I like Apple, they really take care of their customers. Then I proceeded to drive home and get on the phone with AT & T to activate it, because the iPad was originally purchased at home and put on my plan.

After getting nowhere with AT & T customer service they transferred me to Apple Care because I didn't have an ICCID under settings/general/to words. After connecting the Apple Care representative I explained the problem. To my surprise, he had no idea on the SIM Apple integrated and kept asking me where was my old SIM and I need one to get cellular service. Now, I knew that this was not correct and I've tried very carefully explain that there is no SIM external it was enabled on the embedded SIM card, however, they guy fought me on it and sounded quite confused throughout the call. I also tried to activate it under the iPad option settings/cell/Add cell phone carrier/transfer again. This option does not work for me, because it has to do with a different plan type (I have or the representative didn't know) he says also my user name and password are incorrect, but it wasn't. I logged in full on the site without problem. As a result of this he told me to change my password for AT & T and that has not worked, it wouldn't have worked anyway, but now I know, it's just so that you can see the traces of events here. I was then left on hold for 15 minutes be say I have to call my service provider.

Just for the forum of reference for the iPad all Pro (to the United States at least) are made with a built-in SIM card, but also have a nano SIM tray for travel abroad. For those who don't know no way "embarked", it is built in the electronic device and is not removable. Why do that and do all sorts of confusion? It is designed to allow a smaller unit and is supposed to give more options for the selection of a carrier.

To resolve this problem, I took my replaced iPad 9.7 Pro at my local AT & T store the next day (today) to configure the built-in SIM card. They had me past in less than 5 minutes. Namely, if someone runs into his question, you need to tell the person you talking if theres no ICCID then its either one wifi device or if you are using a device with a built-in SIM card. They will have the provision to the CSN, which is a very long alphanumeric number located in settings/general/to comments made by verses the low only with the IMEI (obviously).

I'm just surprised that the 'experts' Apple Care had no idea what the hell I was talking about. I am an engineer 'EM and work on industrial equipment. Also, I have a technical support for hardware, software, networks and applications, so I have a bit of history and know how to get my message. I too am a former user of Windows and Android who migrated to apple for its ease of use, robustness and quality, and outstanding customer service. I now own the iPad Pro, mini iPad 9.7 4, Apple TV (3rd generation) and Mac Mini (late 2014). All of which are excellent products that I use every day and that he loves her. I also participates actively in the public beta program Apple with iOS 10 and Sierra of MacOS. Apple, if you listen... Take note that when a supervisor does not know the iPad Pro is manufactured with a built-in SIM, theres a problem.

    What do you think?

  • SIM card is not supported in the activation

I have a question about activating my iPhone with a different SIM card. I have an unlocked iPhone and I tried to use another (of another carrier) SIM card with it. However, the phone will not turn on and I got an error message indicating that the SIM card is not supported by the initial activation and it isn't a hardware problem. He advised me to call my carrier. So I called my operator and the customer support agent has confirmed that my iPhone is indeed open. Now I'm really confused as to why the other carrier's SIM card is not supported. All SIM cards I've tried with my current provider works with my iPhone. All other SIM cards from other telecommunications companies does not work (I tried 3 others).

Then the phone is not unlocked. Have you asked an unlock of your carrier and they gave him? If Yes, do restore you the phone to factory with iTunes and receive a "congratulations, your phone is now unlocked" message? If this isn't the case, then the unlock code is not complete. You must restore the device with iTunes at the factory, not a backup. When you get the message "Congratulations", you can restore your backup.

  • Exchanging two different Sim cards in my iphone

Hi all. I am a new owner of the iphone and again on the forum. I recently bought a new self iphone unlocked and put in place with Gophone service. The service works very well for me, but not very well in my camp, located in a service area notoriously low. The residents of this area get good U S cellular service, but this service is less in my region of origin. My question is this: can I I put in place a plan for pre-payment with U S cellular and use his sim card in my phone when I'm at the camp and then put my Gophone SIM back in when I get home? My goal would be to buy a monthly pass only to the region, I am when I'm there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello there, Maine-iac50!

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support and congratulations for the new iPhone! It's a big question that you have about the use of the phone with 2 different suppliers. I can understand wanting to be able to use the iPhone in all areas as well. As long as the iPhone is unlocked, you should have no problem moving between carrier SIMs. As long each SIM card is active for each carrier.

    Cheers and enjoy your iPhone!

  • SIM card not valid, how to unlock using the carrier?

I got an iPhone while I was in Canada with Fido and I used it for 2 years (my contract with them is over) but now I traveled to Costa Rica and my travel bag with Fido is finished thus and I now need to use a new Costa Rica SIM card but this is the message I got when I tried to install the new SIM card :

    "Invalid SIM".

The SIM card that you have currently installed in this iPhone is a carrier that is not supported in the title of the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This isn't a problem with the hardware with the iPhone. Please insert a different SIM card of a carrier supported or to ask that this iPhone be unlocked by your operator. Please contact Apple for more information. »

What should I do? I assumed that it was a good place to start to ask questions about it.

You contact Fido and find out if they offer release and if this phone is eligible for it.

Only the carrier that it has locked may authorize to release.

  • I have an iPad without any place to put a Sim Card. But I just updated my iPhone IOS 9.3 5 and before the full update there don't say "SIM necessary." Like I said my iPad has no where to put a SIM card on it what should I do?

I have an iPad that has no place to put a SIM card on it.but I just updated my iPhone 5 in IOS 9.3, but before the end of the update there is a stage says "SIM card required" so I put a SIM card to this topic, but how do I update my iPad to IOS 9.3? Please help I'm really scared of what will happen!

Only your iPhone needs a SIM card to do the upgrade, you will not be asked this question when you update your iPad unless it's an iPad GSM. I wouldn't do the update again as IOS 9.3 has serious bug (s) to fix first.

  • With the help of an old sim card in the iPhone?

I finally convinced my MOM to get an iPhone.

Here, is the fun part. It is 1200 miles away so I can't be there to help him with this. She lives in an abdelkader * town so not Apple store or engineering support. I do this anywhere in the phone. She bought a reconditioned 5 or 6 for storage AT & T probably will not be that useful.

It is on AT & T. I'm on Verizon. His current phone is so old that she cannot yet use AT & T cloud backup. It's something Huawei. It has a sim card. My phone does not have a sim card, so I'm flying blind on this one.

My questions are these. It is theoretically possible for her to use the old phone sim card in an iPhone? I need to identify the card for me, I know. It seems that if it's an AT & T card, it should work.

Is this what is causing problems for her? She wants to use the card so that it will not lose its photos and will not have to enter all its numbers again. Once the info is in the iPhone, I'll put it up with iCloud so that she should not rely on the map.

If she can not use the old sim card, what is the best way to get the data of the card and on the phone? It has a Dell laptop. I have not persuaded to get a Macbook yet. I read that I can get a converter any for the card to be used with a USB port. Would it not easier to import the data on his laptop computer, and then in iCloud? Then once she has the iPhone, hover over the address? I'm assuming the pictures import as jpg files. Does anyone know how to import the addresses? I Team Viewer if I can take her cell phone if I need to.

My other thought is to try to connect his phone to his laptop computer. I'm not sure she can find a cable with USB on one side and everything that will connect on the phone on the other. I'm not sure that it will work at all, but I think it's worth it.

Ideas, tips or tricks to help me help my mother would be greatly appreciated.

Where exactly she buys this iPhone "reconditioned"? Apple does not sell reconditioned iPhones and if it has been refurbished by a 3rd party, he will be untouchable as far as Apple is concerned.

That said, if it is AT & T, she can get an AT & T Nano from AT & T SIM. They charge him for it. Her old SIM does not fit into a new iPhone. Heck, he probably does not take in an old iPhone unless you want to track an iPhone to original iPhone 3G or 3GS, which are obsolete.

Get photos off the old phone is based entirely on what type of phone is and what kind of data transfer utility (and special cables) are available. If fact, she buys a new iPhone, someone at the AT & T store can help with this and contact transfer.
