  I am very new in VeriStand, and I would like to ask you what is the best way to implement simulation of VeriStand sensors.

  I should implement simulation of RTD and Thermocouple VeriStand probes.

  Problem with temperature sensors are mathematical equations has high order (RTD's 3rd order (it is not so bad) and Thermocouple is 9th order).

  What I have to put in place this equations on FPGA or VeriStand could calculate for me in the real-time engine (and then VeriStand implement on FPGA and channel AO level could be applied only something like reaction/compensation currents of excitement to HAVE it)?

  What is the common practice to implement simulation of temperature sensors. Of sampling/update for temperature sensors is generally very low.

  My configuration is:

  Thermocouple (9th order) I have implemented on FPGA as a look up Table. Look-up Table initialized by the equation of order 9th in the range of the required values.

  RTD (3rd order) directly implemented on FPGA. VeriStand send all settings from all periods.

  as a learning exercise, some devices can be simulated in the Explorer to measure (performance measure explore, right click on devices, select Create new.) Select simulated device and choose your device, you can search by product code for example 4070 for a dmm)

  You have made mistakes, we often see people who are new to LabVIEW.

  First is the use of the structure of the sequence.  LabVIEW uses a paradigm of data flow that eliminates the need for most of the structures of sequence.

  Looks like your code runs, although with very long waits, you have the Central while loop and in the third picture, it probably does not meet most of the time.

  I suggest that you look at the architecture of State Machine.  It is much more flexible, robust and adaptable for this kind of project.

  For the test try to reduce downtime by a factor of 1000 so that things happen in a few seconds instead of 10s of minutes.

  Note that the output of the function Wait (ms) is a number of cycles and no time which was expected. It is an unsigned integer and subtraction produced a reversal. I have attached a simple VI showing this. Look at the Express VI of elapsed time.  It may be closer to what you want.

  I am student on samples DAQ in labview 2009, I have no DAQ hardware, but I faked 9188 NI and NI 9214 (thermocouple). I want to run 'acq RDT sample.vi' devices with these simulated, but when I run the program it displays error "possible reasons: device to which is attached the sensor doesn't have a source of available internal excitement." Select another device with a source of available internal excitation or provide external excitement. ». However, in the web, it is said that NEITHER 9188 and NI 9214 are available for real-time measurements. What is the problem with that?

  What Jacob said, is that the 9214 is not designed to work with the RTD sensors.  An RTD is a resistance that changes the value with temperature.  A thermocouple produces a voltage proportional to the difference in temperature between the junctions.  A measurement system for thermocouples need measure the voltage and often compensates for cold junction temperature.  A measurement system for RTD must measure the resistance which is generally to provide a current, and then measure the voltage drop.  The 9214 is not a supply for RTD current circuit.

  The specificatioons for the 9214, it seems that it will work with the real time operating system.

  What do you most need of a random number generator? Have you tried doing a search for temperature in the finder of the example? You will find two less - "Simple Temp Datalogger.vi" and "Temperature.vi graphic.

• Room temperature for SSD - iMac 2011

  I had a company local 'geek' install a 1 TB Samsung EVO 850 SSD in my iMac 2011 after the factory 1 TB WD HDD went belly upwards. The iMac works fine after installation, but the fan runs continuously. I think (and check with technician) they have not connect the thermal sensor that I understand other forums, there is a spare cable. anyway. I installed Mac Fan Control, which was extremely easy and place the SSD fan to operate "sensor value based on '-'Ambient '. the default value for the SSD shows the temperature the fan will begin to increase is 75 degrees F, with a temperature Max to 95 degrees f. once set the fan has appeased and now always so gently purr, but I wonder if the settings are correct.

  The Question: what would be the temperature for a SDS now in an iMac 2011? are the default settings listed above in the correct range? where can I find this info. I searched on the web...

  The vendor who installed the SSD correct wiring, the fan control installation should work (although I don't recommend generally), but the seller must install things correctly. after 2009 iMacs had HD with temporary sensors integrated in the HD, your SSD does not only so you are correct in your statement that he needs the heat sensor wire.
