  OK, by trial and error, including the following. To "activate" duplexer on okidata c5400n driver, you must;

  1. [Start]; [devices and printers]
  2. under [Printers and faxes] right-click [Oki C5400n]
  3. [Printer Properties]
  4. [ settingsof thedevice ] tab
  5. under [installation options]
  6. change "double-sided:" to "installed".
  7. [apply] [ok]
  8. now the option "print on both sides" will appear in the print Preferences dialog box

• Get the "layer break" error message when you try to preview a DVD single sided, or build a disk folder or ISO image

  Hello!  Hoping someone may be able to help with a strange problem.  I have not found anything in the forums or on the web that match my symptoms.

  I use Encore CS6 (v6.0.1.013) on a MacBook to the retina year last to create successfully a number of single-sided DVD with menus, chapters and all that.  I usually make a copy of a previous project to DVD, then replace the video media with the new files and transcodes them, move and rename chapter markers and rework the menus in Photoshop.  I will then build the ISO images to DVD and Blu - Ray (both single-sided) and use them to burn multiple copies of each DVD for customers.

  This week, all by developing one of these projects, trying to create an ISO from DVD image that looked like it would take on a 4.7 GB DVD, I received the message "layer break" ("the chosen layer break does not double layer requirements.  To resolve this problem, set a new layer break manually or choose to automatically set the layer break. ") because (I guess) the material was too long for the 4.7 GB DVD (generation screen now shows approximately 5 GB of material are in the project).  This is the first time I've seen this message - usually just tells me that the material is too big for the DVD.

  I re-transcoded the material down to well under 4.7 GB (about 3.9 GB), returned and replaced the files transcoded, and now the generation of DVD screen shows that there are approximately 700 MB of free space on a 4.7 GB DVD.  But I have not yet able to build any version of the DVD (image, folder, drive), without the message 'layer break '.  I also now get this message of breaking down even trying any menu, killing my ability to get a preview of the DVD menus in Encore to "Preview from Here".

  Just to see what would happen, I chose a 8.4 GB double layer DVD and selected 'manual' instead of 'auto' for the selection of layer break, but never had the Selection dialog box of a break layer, just the error message "layer break".

  Usually, I build images DVD and Blu - Ray with the same material in the same project.  I use different transcoding settings for each, and I was able to build an ISO from Blu - Ray without this "layer break" error on the Blu - Ray version (which is about 24.5 GB when built).  And as I mentioned earlier, this is the first project where I saw this message of layer break.

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  I would rather not to recreate the project from scratch, but I'm worried that I might have to.

  Thanks for the quick response!  My problem is that I don't want to make a record double layer - it's a single layer 4.7 GB max project (currently at about 3.5 GB, after removing the extras timeline and asset to see what it might do).  And even when creating a file, I get the error message "layer break", so I couldn't use ImgBurn if I wanted to.

  Thanks for the links - I had seen a lot of them before, but missed a comment from someone, which means that once a layer break set in yet, it cannot be changed.  It makes me wonder if, once again goes in the way of thinking that a rupture of the layer is required, there is no way to disable this behavior.  Has anyone seen this behavior?

  I think my only option at this point is to rebuild the project from scratch, following Neil Wilkes strategy for the command to add assets (I had not paid much attention information previously).  Suggestions are always welcome, however!

  Hi all

  First time poster.

  Noob question type to come.

  How can I get the highway as a single face KIC Ultiboard? Unless I got it completely wrong, that you have only a minimum of a top and bottom copper layer that is a double-sided Board. I will make my own pcb and do not want to use double-sided.

  It's as simple as saying to not use through any description or who is a little brutal method?

  In addition, anyone know of any software that will be the pattern of multisim and highway a veroboard/veroboard layout?

  You can mark the bottom as layer cannot be routed.

  1. Click Options > properties of PCBS.
  2. Select the layers of copper
  3. In the box allow routing, select the bottom copper, and then click Properties
  4. Uncheck the Routable

  If you have a version with layers of PCB in the worksheet, you can also make this a little easier.

  1. Click the tab layers PCB in worksheet view
  2. For copper, change routable on the No.

• If I can force a document to be printed single-sided?

  I have a form which is downloaded by customers and MUST be printed on the front only, or it causes all sorts of problems. Is it possible in Acrobat to pre-set some print settings or configuration of the page?

  You can set a document given by default for two printing by going to Document properties, go to the tab advanced, and then under Presets dialog box print, affecting DuplexMode Simplex. Then press OK, then save the document.

  Note that this does not restrict the user to change the setting in the duplex print dialogue box if their printer supports duplex printing.

• Adding coverage to a single sided document

  Hello

  I created a document unique face that will be sent to the printers to be spiral. I would like to the last page of the blank document, but the reverse of the to be a back coat of the content about it.

  Can someone tell me please how to do this, then it is clear to the printer it is a back cover and not only the last page if that makes sense? Sorry that I can't think of another way to describe it! I searched the forum and couldn't find the answer.

• How do I know if a transition has repeated frames?

  I am learning the use of the official document for help from Adobe first Elements 8.

  I currently work in Chapter 9, 'Applying transitions', section 'Basic Transition'-> 'how transitions work.

  I'm interested to know if a given transition has repeated frames.

  The help document said: 'To see if a transition is single-sided or double-sided and if he repeated frames, select it and click Edit Transition in the Transition from the Panel view tasks to display it in the properties view.'.

  However, seen from the transition properties does not indicate if the transition has repeated frames (see attached screenshot).

  Is there a quick and easy way to know if a transition has repeated frames?

  For me, the best way to determine what's going to happen, say the images repeated, is to watch the clip on the Timeline, before the application of the Transition. If the duration of the clip that/those is used, i.e. without handles, the head or tail of the Clip will be a litlte 'triangle' in the upper corner. These are "Dog ears" and indicate that it has no handles, i.e. additional images in this Clip. Sleeveless, it will BE repeated Frames and playback is not smooth. When there are more images in the Clip, beyond the Points In & Out, there will be no dog ears. When two Clips, both with dog ears are butted to the top, it will appear that there is a larger triangle at the upper junction of these Clips, as dog's ears will appear to combine. Note: dog's ears are small, so look carefully.

  Now on handles. These are 'created,' when you put the Points In & Out on the Clip leaving unused images in this Clip. When a Transition is applied, these unused frames are then put to use to allow mateiral in the Transition. The concept of handles is a little abstract at first. They were easier to grasp, when you roll A - B edition, where the Clips were on different tracks, and you had to physically overlap Clips to make a Transition. Even to work with film - if you do not have the hardware (frames), you might not make a Transition. Alongside your studies on Transitions, pay special attention to the section on the handles. Once you get it, it'll be very easy. Just look for the dog's ears, and you'll know you have without handles and need to reset your in and out Points to create handles, like the appearance of the repeated images is not something that most people will like.

  I congratulate you for your studies. Too many do not disturb and run things from agaist as handles. Then, they get very frustrated and combat Transitions. It is so refreshing to see someone who actually reads the help files. Please keep it up and please drop in with questions.

  I use iLife 08 - iDVD 08 and responsible for some older models as well. I have a 95 minutes, (burn single face) piece, which looks nice using the 'professional framework. Currently its a long chapter about 95 minutes long.

  I know I can break up the longest play in several chapters of void and put them on the menu, (it is no problem). What worries me is if I have enough disk space, (keep a burn single sided), to include 'Play a whole movie', in addition to including the sup chapters? If its mathematically adding the length of the total room for smaller pieces, no I don't think that will work? It seems, the total length will become prohibitive for a burn single sided. And BTW, all movie clips are exported "referenced files" and not "independent".

  By keeping the side burn 'one' (duration: 95 minutes), I think my options are:

  Stay with a long piece, or use 'DVD Studio Pro' which would require some time long tutorial...

  Any other ideas?

  Where the 95 minute clip of?

  You can add chapter markers to a given interval with iDVD, i.e. at intervals of 5 or 10 minutes to your current project without having to exceed the 95 minute playing time available to you.

  1 - Select the movie from the main menu

  

  2 - Select the menu option Advanced ➙ create markers chapter for the film .

  

  3 - Select the time interval for the chapters.

  

  4. double click the movie button in the main menu to get this submenu:

  

  5. double click on the scene selection button to get the chapters:

  

  The downside to this is that you can choose a time interval and not a specific point in the movie for the marker.

  Otherwise, import the movie into iMovie or some film editing app that you use and add the markers where you want there.

  

• On a Pro 8600, how can I switch between the simple side and double-sided printing?

  I looked at the response to the more than 8600 pro, but when I go to print-preference-advance, I don't see the option of switching between duplex and single-sided.

  In the set printing preferences 'print both sides' votes to zero.

  

• HP 8630 OfficeJet Pro print double-sided on legal size paper

  I just bought a HP OfficeJet Pro 8630 can I print successfully on each Board standard size paper and print on legal paper (from each drawer).  I can print one side, but the driver seems not to allow the duplex legal communication.

  I tried in all stores (I have read on the set 2 only for plain paper, but as I understand it, which applies only to the brilliant vs plain and not of different paper sizes).  In any case, I put my legal paper in Tray 1 and set tray on shift, and the default for tray 2, which seems that it will be a good idea in the future, when we use envelopes, etc.

  But...  The problem that I'm having it is when I go to the printer properties dialog box, if I use duplex printing either on the long edge or short, the legal (and most other choices for paper sizes) have a yellow/triangle exclamation point icon and if I ignore the warning to resolve differences, which either don't let me out of the modal dialog box , or it will just print single-sided anyway.

  I can't find someone else complain that duplex printing legal size does not work, it seems as it should be, but I am at a loss of the configuration of the printer to make it work.  Any ideas?  Success stories?

  I use the latest firmware (FDP1CN1416AR, patch, version 0) and the driver (just downloaded, can't figure out how to get the actual number of installed version)

  The duplex accessory does not support Legal paper size, it is an expected behavior.

  You can perform manual duplex printing using Pages of print options to print the odd pages only, then replace the printed sheets and send other pages even only... the Pages of print options print job is under print options > Layout > advanced.

• IPad 3 show two-sided

  My pc will be printed double-sided hp photosmart 5515 but my iPad 3 wil only print single-sided. If two sided is selected on the iPad it does not print. Any ideas please?

  Manual duplex printing from a Mac running is different from how it works on Windows PC.

  Please follow the steps below to perform the required task.

  An option to perform manual duplex printing is to use the Pages to the printer setting, you can find below:

  You can access this tool by clicking the PDF button at the bottom of the print dialog box, and then select double-sided printing and follow the on-screen instructions.

• DeskJet 3520 problem PDF print double sided

  have a brand new HP Pavilion with deskjet 3520 computer.  and windows 8.

  duplex printing on the deskjet printer test, found stall to halfway through printing.  support got me to download the new firmware for the printer, and then it works better. \

  multi-page prints word documents double-sided without problem. but the PDF documents will not print entirely double-sided.

  Gets to halfway through and hold; research in the print spooler, shows ' printing... error.

  tried foxit and adobe, same result.  both printing single-sided without problem.

  someone at - it any help?

• HP laserjet 3390 does not Win 8-sided print

  I want to install a new computer HP Envy Phoenix 800 with Windows 8.  I am trying to install a printer HP 3990.  I can get it to print single sided, but it won't allow properties to select double print side and the scanner does not work.  Other features of properties are not available.  I downloaded new drivers from Microsoft, but the printer will not work correctly when it is connected via a USB port.
