Sizing for printing without cropping

I think I'm losing my mind here.  Help, please.  I shoot on a (Raw + JPeg 5760 x 3840) canon 5dIII and have Photoshop Elements 10.  I shot a few pictures of the family group.  I framed leaving little margin, but the composition of love.  I didn't expect for the image to crop for some reason any.  My mother-in-law wants to get the pictures printed in a box store, 5 x 7 and 8 x 10.  For each of these sizes, the Photolab guard crop heads off the images.  Then, I realize that I need to send its files of appropriate sizes.  For the life of me I can't understand how to resize images, without having to crop.  Is it impossible.  When I choose Image, resize and uncheck resample, I can't enter 5 x 7 or 8 x 10.  I can't enter these sizes with Resample clicked on.  I read and tutorials watched, but I'm still confused.  Is it not possible to do so without having to crop a part of the image?  Here's a really embarrassing issue as well: when I see 5 x 7 I interpret that as high 5 x 7 of the scale is that correct?  Thank you for your time.

Hello

The answer is simple - you can not.

The three sizes have different proportions (long side size / short side): -.

5760 x 3840 = 1.5

7 x 5 = 1.4

10 x 8 = 1.25

You have two options, either have prints made with borders so that there is no cropping, or if you want prints borderless please reframe. If you try to adapt the complete image on paper, it will distort the image.

I very rarely to frame my photos because of the possible need to crop more closely later. The crop tool has presets for 5 x 7 and 10 x 8. You need to file two copies of each image if you want to deal with these two formats of printing and control the cropping.

Please come if you need assistance.

  • How can I place several smaller images of varying size on one page for printing without losing the original size.  Board contact option to resize my pictures

Does anyone know how to place several small pictures on a single page, so I can print them out as a rather print over and over again.  I want to maintain the original size of the images that vary somewhat.  I tried to use the option of the Board-contact, but he seems to want to resize my images which unfortunately is of no use to me.  I tried to cut and paste on a new page, but I don't think that it is now the original size.

Alternative applications sometimes can provide quick and easy results.

It might be interesting to download the demo version of Photoline: it includes a simple Board-contact option that allows for images to be included without loss of resolution, i.e. the original is left intact and the proportions remain unchanged. Since Photoline also supports documents several pages, all the thumbnails are collected into rows and columns, the user can control and the end result can be exported as PDF.

    -Download the trial of pl32.com

-Open Photoline, then open the browser (CTRL/CMD (B)

-Navigate to your folder with the images you want to combine for printing.

-right mouse click in the thumbnail view, and then select "Create image Catalog.

-Select the page by Page size

-under 'Size' define the number of rows and columns (there are here a translation error: "Spalten (COL) / rows (lines)".)

-Uncheck "scale photos physically." This ensures that the original images are intact and incorporated in full resolution.

    And then click OK.

Some of the other testing devices until you get a satisfactory result. Then export it to PDF.

  • Need help to export files in Jpeg format for printing

I'm quite new to this, so any help would be appreciated. I use Lightroom 3 and need to export files in Jpeg format to put on Smugmug for printing. My understanding is that I put 300 PPI, in measuring the "size to fit" and the width and the height, I'm a bit confused. I'm trying to find my size of the original file that I can't find if I can put it in the right dimensions for export. My problem is that I want to export by batch and I need a way where I can export there will be minimum smugmug in culture when people are going to buy prints. I'm looking for the best image quality for printing without losing parts of the image due to the size of the file. Thank you very much!

The size of the image are in the metadata Panel of the library Module.

If you want to allow people of the same image to print sizes, then they will have to crop the image to the right size on Smugmug. There is no way to avoid it. I know that you said you don't want to crop the images, people, but users MUST make a crop so that the image has the same proportions as the print size.

Similarly, if you want to allow people to print 4 x 6 or 11 x 17 or any other standard size, then you must provide as many pixels as possible. You can not, to your computer in Lightroom, choose settings that match all of these possibilities.

So, again, I recommend that you download the whole photo, without culture and without resizing to the default PPP. Nothing else will not provide the end user the flexibility to print in different sizes.

  • DeskJet 6988: prints without custom border deskjet 6988

I want to make a card (5 x 7) which means I have to print 10 x 7. I tried to do a custom size by clicking on "without borders"but I still have the white border.» The option without borders works with no custom sizes?

    Hi @mhm45,

Can I have found some information about you on your Deskjet 6988 borderless printing options.

Please NOTE: With all models, print custom page sizes are n ot guaranteed from Windows, it usually ends up being a limitation of the operating system presets. All these settings are error.

I think you're right, it should use an option without border defined by the operating system - but you can review the information provided in the user guide for printing without margins to see if you missed something. PG 59-61.

    This information has been in the User Guide for the Deskjet 6988;

    Print borderless photos

Use printing without margins to print to the edges of some types of paper and printing on a variety of paper-paper photo sizes 3 x 5 inches to a custom photo size 210 x 594 mm (8.5 "x 23.4").

    Guidelines

    ● For high quality results, use a print cartridge photo in combination with the print cartridge three colors.

    ● do not print photos without a border in ink-backup mode. Always have two ink cartridges installed in the printer.

    ● Open the file in a program such as Adobe Photoshop or HP Photosmart software and affect the size of the photo. Make sure that the size matches that of the paper on which you want to print the photo.

    ● If you have installed the HP Photosmart software, you can use it to assemble panoramic digital photos before printing.

    ● For maximum strength, use HP Premium Photo paper.

    ● Check that the photo paper you are using is flat. For more information about the prevention of photo paper to curl, see photo paper storage instructions.

    ● Do not exceed the capacity of the tray in: 25 sheets of photo paper.

    Prepare to print

To print a single small photo, use the photo/envelope feeder.

To print several photos or more, follow these steps:

    1. check that the printer is turned on.

    2. for small photos, remove the output tray. For large photos, lift the sliding top. Remove all paper from the tray in. 3. drag the width of the paper all the way to the left guide and then pull out the paper length guide.

    4. check that the photo paper is flat.

    5. place the photo paper in the tray, with the side to be printed on the bottom. If you use paper photo with a detachable tab, check that the tab is so opposite of the printer.

    6. slide the paper guides against the paper.

Note: Some formats of panoramic paper may extend beyond the edge of the In tray.

    7. for small photos, replace the output tray. For large photos, lower the output tray.

    Print

Note: If the software includes a photo printing feature, follow the instructions that are provided with the software. Otherwise, follow these instructions.

    1. open the photo in an application that allows you to edit, such as the HP Photosmart or Adobe Photoshop software.

    2. open the printer properties dialog box.

    3. click on the shortcuts tab print Chapter 5 60 HP Deskjet 6980 series

    4. in what you want to do? drop-down list, click borderless Photo printing, and then select the following options:-print quality: normal or best. Note for maximum dpi quality, go to the paper/quality tab and then click Maximum dpi in the drop-down list print quality. -Paper Type: A picture appropriate paper type - size of paper: a paper size appropriate photo without margin - Orientation: Portrait or landscape

    5. set the HP Real Life technologies.

    6. click OK to print the photo. If you have printed on paper with a detachable tab, remove the tab to make the document completely without borders.

Please let me know if any of these steps has resolved your problem, or if there is anything else I can do to help.

  • Want to 5640 e - Allinone: HP Envy 5640 cannot print without problem indicated

My hp wireless want 5640 e - Allinone scanner/printer all of a sudden couldn't print more with no error showing.

This printer has been used very frequently and it used to work well.  However, I kinda stopped using it for about 2 weeks, and today when I tried to print, whenever I sent a document to print, the printer status showed 'Impression' and suggested that the documents have been printed successfully; However, the printer was actually nothing.

I tried to uninstall/reinstall the hp printer driver for several times, used hp print and scan doctor showing all the controls without error, turned off the firewall, checked the wireless connection for my laptop and the printer and even used a USB to connect my laptop and printer, but still failed to get a response from the printer.  Fortunately, he was able to print an internal test page by printing HP and scan doctor, but not a test page.  In all these processes, the State of the printer was still showing indicating "Ready" for printing without error.

On the other hand, my printer have been able to print several documents sent from computer laptop of my roommate via connection Wi - Fi, and my laptop would have also ordered my roommate, a Canon one printer, to print via wifi.

This situation has botherd me all night and I'm actually much more dependent on the printer now that the school year has started.   I really hope that someone can solve my problem and I would appreciate his helpfulness.  Urgent need of your help!

    Thanks in advance,

    Willow

    Hey Willow.

I see that you are having a problem wireless printing using your printer HP Envy 5640.

If your roommate can print using your printer wireless, then I think that there is nothing wrong with his connection.

To restore the State of your printer, you can try to do a Hard Reset. Simply unplug the power cable from the wall outlet, then to the back of the printer. Wait at least one minute, then plug it on both ends. Normally the printer will power on automatically. If this is not the case, simply press the power button.

Blue wireless light should remain solid, once the printer is powered completely.

On your PC, go to run by pressing Windows + R keys on your keyboard.

Type services.msc and Services window should appear.

Restart the services listed below by right-clicking on them and selecting restart. If it has not started yer, select start.

    1. print spooler

    2 IP Helper

    3. web client

    4. network access protection agent

Try to print all your documents and see if it will work.

    Hope this will help.

  • Photo printing without borders on an Officejet 7612, since a Win 8.1 desktop

Just bought a new 7612 Officejet, was wanting to a printer with the ability to scan and print 11 x 17, which is what attracted me to this (as well as how much the prices sank on the printers large format in recent years).  This printer replaces an Officejet 7310, which eventually gave the soul.

I was setting the printer to the test this weekend to try to ensure that everything works and I found a problem.  I can't select borderless photo paper 4 x 6 when I try to print photos.  I'm running Windows 8.1 on my desk and always uses the same printing software photo that I used for the 7310, who is the Manager of Office 2010 photos.  When the 7310 worked, I could select 4 x 6 borderless paper from the menu of choices different paper drop-down.  Now with the 7612, I choose paper 4 x 6, but without the border is not an option.  This means that when I print pictures, I have a 1/8 "to 1/4" white border all about photography.  7612 driver isn't set up for printing without margins?  Yes, the selection of the type of paper is HP premium photo paper, since it's what I use, but I tried other selections of photo paper and still no selection for printing without margins.

    DRM for your help,

    Paul

Fixed.  I used the chat on this site feature to speak with a HP technician.  He took control remotely from my computer and re-installed the driver and went through the Setup and now its photo printer, at least for 4 x 6 borderless.

I think I have what he did differently from me is to change the Fax printer to printer in the 'print options', while in the printer and devices window.  I think that's maybe where I made my mistake, in even if he printed paper copies, he used the fax settings that apparently do not allow printing without margins.  So anyone who finds this problem with their 7612, I would try this first.

  • Re-sizing 3.2 (no cropping) images for a Full HD project?

    Hello

I work on an audiovisual project, am new to video editing and would greatly appreciate some advice before I wear my photo and video editing stage. I work with Premiere elements 11.

My videos was taken by a Fuji hs20 camera and are 1080 p Full HD 30 frames per second using the H.264 encoded (saved as MOV files directly) progressive capture compression. Sound - WAVE. stereo.

My images have an aspect ratio of 3.2 and I decided to save them in JPEG format - I very MUCH, and for me, jpeg, due to the image being visible, will be easier to locate, as opposed to the DSP, on external hard drives that I use as a backup.

Because of my video, I understand that my project will make Full HD 16.9 framework report, but I really want to keep the ratio of part 3.2 of still images - the vertical black bars either side doesn't bother me, in fact, they will add to the artistic nature of the project. I don't want to crop or squeeze them.

I want to put my project ended up on Youtube, and, if possible, burn on the bluray and dvd, Uk/Europe region.

I'm looking for the best image quality I have can get and would like to know the precise image, resize, size width and height in pixels that would be appropriate for a 3.2 image in a Full HD presentation. The photos were taken between 7 and 14 Mpx. I have photoshop elements to edit.

Also, I was informed to convert my video in MPEG streamclip to avoid further loss of quality and other problems. Could someone advise me over him - I understand that a converter can be downloaded for free, but I'm not sure what to use.

I apologize for this post being thus diverted, but I want to provide as much information as possible. My computer is 64 bit with 5 core processor.

    Hope to hear some soon

    Sincerely from Alan

If you have no problems of computer resources with your 3:2 images in a project of x 1080 Elements1920 first, then just import the photos in 3:2 with their original pixel size in the project. If you look at a compromise in the resources of the computer then resize your photos to the dimensions in pixels with the 3:2 ratio.

Here I suggest you to look at resizing 1920 x 1280 pixels (example) origin 3000 x 2000 and then import the 1920 x 1280, 3:2 in the project

    a. the checkmark next to the default scale to the size of the image with Edit Menu/preferences/general (project where the scale of 3000 x 2000 to supposed 1920 x 1280.)

    or

    b. with Edit Menu/preferences/general with no check mark next to the default scale to the size of the image. Here you to scale the video in established Edit area monitor space

by the choice of the project preset defined by you (manually) or project (automatically).

The foregoing gives an image cropped to scale with the black border that you feel artistic.

Please do a mini test run to determine if it works for you.

I did a few crossings run with the above, and everything seems to achieve the goal without cropping.

  • Correct sizing of the image for printing

    Good day to all;

I'm a bit new to all this, so that this question may seem a bit simple.

Is there a correct way to size for printing photos. That's what I did.

My camera is set to 6 meg gives me a great original. I want to take advantage of this and print on a 4 x 6.

I bring to the top of the image, select print > click on 'media adapted size. This gives me the size of

    5.333 X 4.

I'll return to the selection of the photo: Image > Image size. Under the Document size, I enter 5.333 width. The change of height to 4

Question, I am doing this correctly

    Thank you all

    Chomp

    Use Image > Image size.

Set the resolution to 250 (for inkjet) and put in your long size in inches.

Check "Keep proportion" to avoid any distortion.

' Save as... '. "under a new name.
