Skype is lock my PC

I have a Dell laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium, which was of the original equipment. I use Skype successfully on this machine for several years and have Skype set to start at Windows startup and never had any problems until recently.  In June of this year, my PC started to lock up during the initialization of the process and everything on the screen would freeze just, including the mouse cursor, and I could only stop the pc by cutting with the power switch.  This problem is not moved if I booted in safe mode (with networking) and Skype load normally.  The problem also not moved if I set Skype not not to launch at Windows startup.  However, the computer freezes most of the time, but not always, when I started Skype after Windows had begun.

I followed the advice given on the Skype help site, and when I did a complete uninstall of Skype, including deleting registry entries, everything was fine when I reinstalled Skype and it was fine for the first days, even from Skype at Windows startup.  However, the problem of locking up now.

I haven't knowingly changed anything or added or deleted any software that could cause this problem and I've confirmed that the latest version of DirectX is installed.  I would be very grateful for some advice on how I can solve this problem because I use Skype to talk to the children and grandchildren live abroad. Thank you.

And if you clean the PC startup, and then start Skype?

    1. is the issue limited to the Skype connection?

    2. you remember bringing all recent software or hardware changes on the system before the show?

  • Re: Satellite A210-1BX: webcam problem - locked by another application

    Hello

My Webcam Chicony 2.0 does not work. -Lockey by another Application...

So, I uninstalled the driver, but if I want to install the driver it is a mistake...

    Something with Win95 stand...

I got the driver from the Toshiba Page.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

Locked by another application error message is known to me.
This forum contains many discussions on this issue.

First of all it is very important that Vista SP1 has been installed. This update package contains a fix that is needed to get the webcam working properly.

Second messengers installed and loaded like MSN messenger, yahoo Messenger, Skype can lock the webcam.
Therefore, you must remove these applications from the RUN key in the registry.

The new installation of the webcam driver should also be made.

I put t know why you can not reinstall the webcam software. Maybe you didn t reinstall it correctly. You must decompress the file before you start the installation. It would be also advisable to clean the registry with the CCleaner after uninstalling software.

  • Black screen after opening the software of the camera on Satellite P200 - 17 c

    Hello

Recently, I used my Vista recovery disk. Everything was ok after the installation at the time wherever I tried to use the camera. When I open the software, the screen on chicony camera assistant software was black and there was nothing on it. I tried to install the new drivers, but it remains the same. Then I tried to record and take a picture of me. When I opened the video and photography, it was ok and I see myself.

Can u please tell me what to do?
Oh yes I forgot to mention this: I open the yahoo Messenger. There, I also tried the camera and I saw myself but not on the camera software that comes with Toshiba. I also tried to use the camera in windows live messenger, but the Messenger always stopped working.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Have you tried to use the cam without the MS Messenger, Skype or Yahoo messenger?
    Please it!

Reboot the machine, but don't load the applications mentioned at the beginning.
Then test the webcam software again.

I had a similar problem with my internal webcam. I couldn't t start cam because Skype has locked.

  • Why lock an iphone hang up Skype calls now?

I recently updated my iPhone and it has changed apparently randomly how Skype works on an iphone now, when, in a call on Skype, if you lock your phone in order to book the power that he immediately hangs up the call. Is it possible to disable this because it's a terrible idea, and I'd rather have my screen locked especially if I'm in a Skype call on my phone for a long period of time. Otherwise, the Skype team can consider making it an option to disable this feature. Thank you.

There is an easy solution for this. Locate the Skype settings (my info > settings) then turn off built-in calls.

Device Manager does not detect also no error with the camera

    Hey,.

You run the internal webcam software at the same time? If Yes, it could assign the webcam feature in Skype so close to the webcam software before you start Skype and use the webcam.

If it doesn't work try reinstalling the driver for the webcam of the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

But before you install the new webcam software, delete the old first, restart the computer. I recommend also using CCleaner to clean the registry before installing the latest webcam software.
Also, these old registry keys affect the features of webcam CCleaner would be worth a try. :)

It seems also not connect to Skype? Anyone have any ideas?

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. Webcam is entered correctly in the Device Manager?

I have experience with Win7 on Satellite L300 God. I ve done own Win7 32 bit installation with all the drivers, tools and utilities and I must say that the webcam works perfectly.

Hi, if it's a smartphone, and you can connect to a hotspot wifi in Europe you should be able to use the Skype app for your call.

    I did too much work!

  • Skype prevents the removal of empty folders!

    1. I use Skype only for Conference calls and interaction of students in university level and regular group tasks. In other words, I refuse any connection to anyone do not actively participate in a class with me at one time or another for the next two years.

Now, I noticed a "remarkable" feature in Skype for these last two days (48 hours).

I had to remove the empty of my desktop system folders and not until I completely closed and you leave Skype (ver. 7.22.85.109 on Windows 7 x 64) made this stop "have action."

In other words, when Skype does NOT work my OS works as expected.

      It should be noted here is;

1: I've not linked, shared or any files included in a file sharing activity to any else via Skype or a Skype session.

2: the files are empty! Deleting the file, simply not work records.

3: the content of the folders is not associated with uni and so has no objective sharing ever existed with or by the use of Skype.

4: no application used to interact with the content of the folders have interacted with Skype never directly or indirectly.

      So now, the question remains:
"Why is Skype lock up my empty folders, preventing them to be deleted"?

The path to these files are NOT in systems or paths of Skype but on other players or on my desk!

There is nothing interesting in the information "filtered". The only one I can see, is that you have VirtualBox running application, so you can stop it and see if that changes anything.

In addition, the version of ( Internet Explorer (IE11) installed on your computer is not refreshed (judging by the mashtml.dll error messages shown in the log). Know that no matter what browser you use, Skype is still using IE engine installed on your computer.

  • Skype works only on Windows 10

I upgraded my laptop ASUS (portable UX32A) from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Now, Skype for desktop PC does not load. It is located at automatically sign-in during windows startup. It starts to load upwards and then stops working until it has fully loaded. There is a message saying that Skype has stopped working and that the details have been sent to MS and then it stop Skype.

So far, I tried all of the following characteristics: -.

    (1) downloaded and installed the latest version of Skype (7.18) for desktop - 8 times. No change

    (2) tried to "deep" uninstall Skype from my laptop and then install an earlier version of Skype. No change

    (3) renamed my file "appdata" old Skype Skype. No change

    (4) says Windows to search for the latest drivers. No driver has changed

    (5) the Windows 10 troubleshooting program are used to try to load-up Skype in an earlier version of windows. I tried all, but he does not always load

I can get the video version of Skype at work which is part of the window system 10. This shows my camera and his work as everything. But it of a bad version of Skype with few features and also locks Skype to one user on this computer. I can't find a way for other users to use this version of Skype. So I am keen to get Skype for office working on this laptop.

I think that MS has launched a version of Skype that is not compatible with my laptop with Windows 10 and that the only solutions are to return to Windows 7 or to stop using the Skype program.

Someone at - it other ideas how I might be able to fix it?

I gave up trying to make Skype work on this laptop with Windows 10.

The laptop was working fine with all my programs (including Skype) with Windows 7 - provided operating system with the laptop. Then, you receive a message from Windows saying that you can switch to Windows 10 for free and that your computer is compatible. Once you do this, all the trouble begins. In this case, Skype doesn't work with my other programs and you spend you life is talking with people from Skype (no help at all) or in the lounges of cat like that.

The answer, in my mind, is to use an operating system that runs on your computer and not upgrade to Windows 10, because it's probably not compatible with applications or hardware on your / my PC.

Now, I returned to Windows 7, all is well again. And I'll keep my PC this path and isolate the reminder throbbing on the PC icon that tells me to upgraded to Windows 10.

  • Locked account.

I contacted the Support of Skype to solve a problem with my Microsoft Account does not link/unlink properly, probably a bug in the system... so what do? Lock me out my account * beep * permanently. I can't make a new account, because I have contacts there that are irreplaceable.

The * beep * they ask you if you want to recover your account, Skype is * beep * impossible to answer. I don't remember what * beep * year I created the account. My contacts change their names all the time fucking. This is not * beep * just, I've had this account for centuries.

Do something about this Skype, or I will file a complaint, there are friends and family I'm losing contact with for always if I don't get this back.

After several rounds with live support, I finally got my account back, and I'm much calmer. (Thanks to Roberto a. and Earl John C.!) You did a good job, you deserve praise to come through where others didn't support)

It was too much hassle to reach the point of take over, so I got comments about the recovery process.

Just a tip for anyone who has had this problem. If you already had an account linked to your Microsoft Account or sign with support with a Skype name that you were formerly bound, tell them, that they can use as a piece of information to help verify your identity.

Unfortunately, it is not in the form of recovery, but it should be. The form should also accept live/msn contact names/emails and Skype not only, but it doesn't. MS account UID/profile information would be a good form of validation, but it's not either them.

In addition, signed up to this day should not be something that is necessary, because most of the people remember this detail, especially if they had the account for a long time, or he did not think / wiped their Inbox after registration. It is not clear if they ask when you first register your MS account, or your first registration to Skype with the account of Ms.

Until they review the process, just be incredibly persistent, providing a nugget of information that you can. Get support on-line rather than e-mail and to discuss in detail what is happening and how you got into your situation, that you'll have someone on your case ready to help, and you won't get canned answers.

  • New update of Skype - no incoming calls more - Version 4.10.0.332 (4.10.332)

    Hello, SKYPE,.

Since you provided the new version of Skype for IOS, incoming calls stopped working. I've tried everything. I talked to two of my friends and they know exactly the same problem. I also talked to an agent of very naughty Skype chatting. This is the culmination of the measures already taken:

    1 Delete SKYPE and reinstalled

    2. check that we have the latest version of IOS and SKYPE

    3. under Notifications, made sure everything is turned on

    4. under settings, then on SKYPE, made sure sign is automatically turned on and switch to offline mode is set to 'NEVER '.

    5. also ensured that a device is connected with AN account

    6. it doesn't matter if you call the SKYPE NUMBER or SKYPE to SKYPE, the call does not work

7 missed calls / messages appears later in SKYPE when you open the SKYPE application

    8. complete reset of the network settings Device IOS

    9. on my iPad, I actually completely deleted and reset the whole device to the factory settings and deleted everything out of it. Reinstalled only SKYPE, but the same behavior. Does not work.

Incoming calls work on my Mac Book and my PC.

Also, if you keep the 'in focus' app on your device IOS, which means that you make sure that your screen is not locked or you do not use e-mail, etc., then the incoming calls will work on SKYPE.

SKYPE: You need to fix this ASAP. It is terrible user experience. I have a real number of SKYPE that I use regularly. My whole family uses SKYPE with each person having their own SKYPE number. Now, we can no longer talk to each other.

By the way I know that you're going to ask the question, so here's my version of IOS: 6.1.3

SKYPE: PLEASE CORRECT THIS IMMEDIATELY, OR BE A WAY FOR THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES, BACK TO THE OLD VERSION OF SKYPE.

    See you soon
