  Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Press and hold the button for 30 seconds. Then leave the battery disconnected and only connect the AC adapter to the unit. Then try to restore unity.   Maybe something messed up to the top of your Windows installation and if the computer may start t more or your HARD drive becomes faulty...

  You can access the BIOS? If so, check if your HARD drive is recognized. If so I think that it of necessary to reinstall Windows. Therefore, take the Toshiba recovery disc.

  I bought my laptop mini 250 hp in March and there are about 3 weeks that only randomly, he went to a blank screen with a blinking white cursor in the upper left. Ive tried to charge it, remove the battery and reinstall my windows program. I can turn it off using the power side button but when I turn it on it flashes to the HP splash screen then past on the screen empty. What can I do else? Any advice would be helpful as I am not tech savvy when it comes to computer failure. Thank you!

  can anyone help, I got 2 batteries for my protégé m750-11w and they do not work and I wonder what I have to do a BIOS update for them. The batteyr in my protégé is PA3191U-5BRS and two new batteries are the two PA3191U-1BAS, and he says that this battery work where the - 5BRS was in use.

  I updated my BIOS from version 1.6 to version 3 already and the battery still does not work I just get a blinking white cursor in the upper left.

  In my opinion, you must fully charge the battery before starting Windows. After that try it again.

  I was using my laptop very normally like everyday, and this strange thing began to happen the light from my computer (HP PAVALLION SLEEKBOOK 15) laptop started to blink all of a sudden. The laptop works very well and there are no issues yet this starnge flashing. Should I worry about this?

  Try a hard reset first.
  To perform a hard reset, use the following steps:
  Remove the computer from the docking station or port replicator.
  Disconnect all external devices connected: displays of devices USB, printers, external storage, etc..
  Unplug the laptop AC adapter.
  Remove the battery from the compartment to batteries.
  Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, remove any residual electric charge capacitors that protect memory.
  Insert the battery and plug it back the power adapter on the laptop; but do not connect peripheral devices.
  Press the power button to turn on the computer.
  
  Check if it has not changed.
  
  If so,.
  
  Do a contest of F2 of the System Diagnostics hard drive test in BIOS (shortly after the power on laptop computer, press ESC or F2 to enter the BIOS/DIAGNOSTICS)
  
  Also check if the problem is present on connect only to an AC adapter / CC batteries removed and turned on.
  
  Check that all connections are correctly placed.
  
  Reinstall the memory modules or Exchange if your have 2 sticks of memory completely off the laptop (press the SHIFT KEY, and THEN click SHUTDOWN) and perform a hard reset before opening rear cover. electrostatic precautions.

  Need to boot drive for M8200N prod. # GN551AA-ABA. Vista Home Prem starts with only a blinking cursor.

  I pulled the SATA HDD and with an adapter, read/open the hard drive with windows XP.

  Cannot open programs because it is Vista, but can view and copy many files, some I saved my XP HDD.

  HP no longer has the startup disk. I know now that the Boot disk is on the HARD drive (in reading research reports),

  but have no way to make or find its location to create the recovery disk.

  I have a protected Z10A and the touchpad and keyboard intermittiently stops working after the mode 'sleep'. I can't wake up, or restart without re-booting.

  I did the update to the keyboard firmware docker as advised in a thread on January 2014, but this did not help the problem.
  This computer is 2 weeks.

  I was download site and updated all the drivers and updates.
  The computer works perfectly except for this problem.

  When the Tablet is in standby, the white led flashes, and it is when everything works fine, but if the light for some reason any does not Flash but still turned on, then it will not start and I have to restart the tablet.

  I have disabled hibernation in the options mode, but still no help.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  I m wondering if the option (in BIOS) called Wake-Up on the keyboard is turned on.
  To restore the functioning of the computer from sleep mode, press the power button or any key on the dock of the keyboard for a short period of time. But the keys on the keyboard can be used if the option is enabled.

  Note: when the laptop is in Sleep Mode, the power indicator of will blink white. If the light flashes white, the computer laptop isn t set mode sleep!

  Today, I bought a HP Pavilion N214TX 15 notebook brand new. When I got home, I unboxed it, inserted the battery, plugged into the wall and turn it on powered for the first time. Then, I saw this message:

  Windows reports, plugged in and not charging.

  I removed and re - insert the battery, entry in the HP Support Assistant application conducted an audit of the battery (only to point out that it cannot find a battery!) and I ran diagnostics pre-boot, who also pointed out that there is no battery inserted. I saw somewhere that you should remove the power supply before running the tests. When I pressed the power button while the laptop was plugged in the AC, the charging light just blinked white three times. I could get at a certain point in the diagnoses of pre-boot on battery, but I always saw the message saying no battery has been found.

  This is a great laptop, it's super fast, software installs quickly, programs open quickly, it stops and starts quickly, but this battery issue is a huge disappointment. I do not expect this kind of problem a new ~ $1100 laptop.

• T9000 - display cable problem?

  3 weeks ago, my laptop screen started to stay black. If I waited a few minutes he blinked white and after that, he remained white. A google search resulted that the display cable may be damaged. I changed the cable and it worked a few days. Now, I have the same problem again. The dark thing is that, if I unplug the display cable to the graphics card (under keyboard) and reconnect it again, this works very well, but I think this isn't the best solution. Has anyone ever experienced this kind of problems, or any expert Toshiba does know something about this?

• How to install Ubuntu on a Toshiba Satellite L670D-102

  I tried to load Ubuntu 10.10 (tried the i386 and AMD64 platforms versions Desktop Edition) on a Satellite L670D-102 using a Live CD. The CD turns for a while, there is some activity on the hard drive and then I get a blinking white cursor (a hyphen) on a black screen. I left it overnight and it remained the same. I tried with "live" usb key and once again, no start. The CD and usb work in other machines running amd processors and intel.

  The kind of questions that come to mind are:-
  Is there a safety or other setting in the cmos memory which prevents the Windows loading anything?
  Are Toshiba simply anti-Linux and I need a new machine?
  Do I need a special bios to run Ubuntu?

  Any help to resolve the issue would be welcome.

  My HP TouchSmart Pc 320 lights I noticed the power adapter blinks and a beep so I tried another adapter even and it does the same thing, I guess this isn't the adapter but the Pc its self.

  I have 8 TouchSmart 320 Pc that I bought for my business a year ago, it comes to the second Pc that gave me I've corrected the issues first, but what can be wrong with it? IM assuming it has to do with the motherboard. Please help thanks.

  Thanks for the quick response. So, the Web siteof your product has not all alerts published about problems with the motherboard.  It's a good thing.  The system has a "Angelino2" motherboard.  I don't know if it's still under warranty, but you can check the status here. I think that in this case, you should contact an HP maintenance officer and plan a repair workshop to control the installation. At this point I don't know what could be the failure.  If it is out of warranty, you could pursue other options as an output of repair under warranty with an authorized service provider. Often, they will be able to provide some diagnostic efforts at a reduced price.  Good luck to you.

  Few days back I pruched this Mallet and portable great called HP envy 15 model J122TX. Evrything works perfectly until I had recived this horrible update from MIcrosoft. My laptop has pre installed windows 8.1 and a few days later, I got a lot of updates of microsoft recived. After installation of updates HP Simple pass is no longer present on the windows logon screen.

  This version of windows has something called sing fingerprints optional. I got configered successfully, she and I had also set up the HP simple pass. but unfortunately I cound not connect to windows using the fingerprint reader. scanner Finder blinks white light at the opening of the session, but when I swap my finger on it nothing happens. (but before the update it worked)

  Try reinstalling pass Simple. Its been observed that if you use Microsoft ID to connect to WIndows then print fails. Microsoft is working on fixing it.
